Beautiful gym. One of the largest equinox locations I have been to. Very clean and well maintained. Great area.

Had 6 different items get stolen one being very expensive leather gloves that was had fur 1 bottle of cream from rental locker taken. This place is very ratchet with suburban bros that ruin the vibe. Despite managements best efforts they couldn’t control their staff resulting in several lost products.

Make no mistake, this is the nicest gym in Seattle. It’s not inexpensive, but it is well worth the cost. The gym is sparkling clean and amenities are fantastic. Great variety of classes, great personal trainers - I do both private Pilates and personal training. On a per use basis, I’m paying less than I was at Orange Theory or any of the specialty gyms that I’ve been to in the past. In my experience, the staff has been incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns. This gym very much feels like a community without trying too hard or forcing it. Also, $4 for two hour parking in downtown Seattle is not expensive.

Edit: this location has a bizarre obsession offering “stronger” and “stacked” all day everyday. Pretty boring

Beautiful gym with space and views. Finally a gym without carpet in Seattle, the wait is over!

I believe that if the sauna that was supposed to be included in the gym membership was actually part of the cost, it would make the gym membership worth it. For $240 per month, I could suggest three other premium gyms in the area that offer pools for similar or even lower membership fees.

Overall impression
I completely understand why people have a love-or-hate relationship with this gym. Whether you’ll like it depends entirely on your goals and what you expect from a workout space.

For serious lifters
If you’re focused on strength training, know what you’re doing, and don’t care for group classes, Equinox might not be the best fit. There are only three barbell racks, and at least one of them was free during the time i was working out in the area at 5 pm on a Friday - which says a lot about the type of crowd here. This isn’t a lifters’ gym; it’s a lifestyle space.

Amenities and atmosphere
The facilities are top-tier. The locker rooms feel genuinely luxurious, and the shampoos and conditioners smell incredible, like something out of a high-end spa. The entire space feels curated for comfort and aesthetics.

The crowd
The people who go here are very attractive. Not in the “I’ve been grinding at the gym” way, but in the “I was born hot, got a great job, and then joined Equinox” way. If being surrounded by beautiful, successful people of all genders fuels your motivation, you’ll feel right at home.

So now you know and can properly make your life choices 😁

P.S.: Andre Fox is great

Zero customer service.. and I didn't even step foot inside !

Tried enquiring through Founderscard which gives a three day trial. I received a text as to when I would like to start my free trial . I called back and asked if there is a month to month membership and the answer is no. I mentioned that I am open to the three day trial but will have to think about the 12 month commitment . The immediate response was "the trial will not change anything " followed by hanging up in my face.

What a great attitude to market ! I am already repelled without even stepping foot, thanks for saving my time . I get reimbursed by the way but will not want to use such benefit to experience this hostile attitude and lack of professionalism !

Take a look at lifetime fitness and you will see the earth to sky difference !

This gym has continuously sent fraudulent charges to my credit card despite having spoken with at least 3 different people to confirm my membership is cancelled and successfully disputing more than $500 (so far, soon to be $1000) with my credit card.

Signing up for this gym is my single biggest financial regret. It has been such a nightmare trying to get this fully resolved, at this point I think I just need to get a new credit card number.

We came here for a quick morning workout right after flying from San Francisco. I was so glad to see that Equinox has a location in the downtown area; everything looked pretty new. The amenities were great, and they had a locker room with storage big enough for my carry-on luggage, which was a huge plus. This meant I didn't have to carry it while exploring the downtown area and Pike Place Market before we could check into our hotel.

Super high-pressure sales, which is strange for such a tiny gym. A “tour” feels like being stuck in religious conversion therapy. With no way out. Ever. There are way better gyms with kinder, better staff: the WAC, Henry’s, Barry’s, SAC. This place is overrated. Big time. #Eva.

Tried the Aescape massage. The massage itself was okay, but it malfunctioned and froze halfway through. Glitches happen, but the concern was no one answered the help button after I hit it. After several minutes the screen changed and said the session was cut short and an assistant would be there shortly. Still no assistant. I got dressed and went down to the receptionist who offered to reschedule me for half a session. Overall not worth the hassle.

Equinox sales didn’t disclose the one year lock of membership contract. It rejected me for asking for cancellation. I don’t know why they can maintain such bullish policy given they already lost class action lawsuit in New York regarding this matter. This is bullying and ridiculous. Hope someone can start a class action lawsuit against them.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Equinox Seattle.

I joined with the hope that I could do a variety of class formats all in one gym and avoid paying for multiple memberships, but this has not been the case. It was already a hard decision to leave my previous gyms, particularly Rowdy Box, which is a truly special place with incredible community, consistently challenging workouts, and amazing vibes.

At sign-up, I made it clear to Joseph that I travel three to four months a year and that freezing my account was important to me. I was told it would cost $50 to freeze and that I could do this multiple times per year. Now I am being told I can only freeze once per year, it costs $100 per month, and I cannot freeze at all during the first year. This feels dishonest and misleading.

The yoga program has been especially disappointing. The studio is often too bright, I have been scolded for entering the room early to warm up which is a completely normal part of yoga culture, and classes often run with ceiling fans on which destroys any sense of calm. The flows are basic and geared toward beginners, with little challenge for those with experience. They only just added Yoga Sculpt, and while I did enjoy the one time I was able to take it, it is not enough to make up for the lack of strong, consistent yoga offerings.

The workout studio setup is also poorly designed. The main room is overly bright, has bad echo, and requires you to walk to a separate back room to gather all your equipment before class. The floor is fake wood, slippery, shiny, and not at all appropriate for dropping heavier weights.

Another frustrating policy is around class sign-ups. You cannot sign up for double classes if they are considered too similar in one day. For example, I was not allowed to sign up for both Yoga Sculpt and a Vinyasa Flow on the same day. My classes are consistently pretty empty, and even if they were not, that rule is ridiculous. On top of that, you can only register for classes 10 hours before they start. This means you cannot plan out your week in advance. Instead, every single day you have to log in to the app 10 hours before class just to secure a spot.

The overall vibe is cold and sterile. Unlike other gyms where you feel part of a community, here I do not feel known, welcomed, or connected. In my opinion, even the trainers, many of whom come from other Seattle gyms with far better energy, do not seem to feel a sense of belonging.

When I have given feedback, the responses feel scripted and corporate, most likely from NYC, with no sense of accountability or willingness to address real concerns.

To be fair, there are a handful of excellent trainers who deliver strong, challenging workouts every time. I want to thank them sincerely. But I hope they eventually move on, because Equinox is not the place for the kind of energy and community they bring.

Bottom line: I feel misled, stuck in a membership I do not want, and disappointed by the overall experience. As soon as I am able, I will be canceling. Until then, Equinox can enjoy the money they are forcing me to pay.

If you are looking for a gym with real community, consistently strong workouts, and great vibes, do yourself a favor and check out Rowdy Box, Barry’s, or Studio 3 instead. Do not join Equinox.

Clean gym with good perks, but the machine weight area is too small for the price, with one machine per type that gets taken often. Half Cardio space often gets blocked for loud classes, which should be held in a separate room. The café is the star but oddly not open to the public like the other Equinox locations. Design of the space needs an update.

I was invited to a company event and immediately started getting spammed with texts and emails non-stop to come visit the gym. I never consented to that and no where was that a condition on the sign up form. I unsubscribed and a few days later the account rep (Eva) removed me from the event after I followed up when the event was removed from my calendar. No email to let me know or anything. It was basically an aggressive sales funnel tactic and super unprofessional. Disappointed from what is suppose to be a "high-end" gym lol. I'd highly recommend avoiding and giving them your personal info for anything

Gym is a weird layout, feels like an office, and sauna costs $40 per use. I tried it once and requested to cancel and it took over 3 MONTHS and 10+ calls and emails to stop being charged and have things refunded. Ultimately I had to threaten a credit card dispute. Andre and others were kind and understanding, but it all got blocked by Sydney the GM refusing to reply or act. Gym amenities and machine offerings are great, better than any other gym I’ve been to in the area, especially when not working out during peak hours. Cardio machines are all in operation and the treadmills are great, especially their Precision Run ones. While the space itself may appear large at a glance, many benches and machines are very close to one another, and floor space limits the amount of machines that are there at the gym, so there are less machines that in some other gyms. During busy times, it can feel quite cramped. Equinox’s membership sales being commissioned based is certainly leading to experiences such as described about Joseph Cha, which is disappointing as it is nice to be able to know more about what you are signing up for without the pressure to blindly pay without knowing your full commitment, situation, and what the gym experience will be like. The gym itself is wonderfully maintained and cleaned, especially with the locker rooms, and Equinox been the best gym experience I’ve had in Seattle so far.

However, opening until now, the water fountains have all stopped working for over half of it and is still not fixed. For this subscription price, it would be expected to have running water and at least semi rapid fixes to basic utilities like drinking water at a gym, especially during the summer with HIIT classes that will dehydrate gymgoers.

I would give it a five if it wasn't for the music. A gym is a place to work out, but it’s also a place to relax. The club has low ceilings and the music volume is too loud to have a conversation on your phone in the designated seating area,or with a another member comfortably. I have to go outside to use my phone. That's not right . I've been in gyms all over the world. I've been to Equinox in New York. No one plays their music this loud. It's a real turn off. The gym I belong to in Paris is very elegant. They play music, same style of music as the equinox, but you can hear yourself think ,you could easily talk to the member next to you and you can make a phone call if you need to. Not right.

My Honest Review of the Gym Everyone’s Talking About

I’ll start by saying I’m not usually a gym person. It’s just never been my thing. But this place genuinely surprised me, not because of how big it is, actually the opposite. Compared to other gyms in the same brand, the space here is noticeably smaller. I’ve heard that’s part of why the membership rates are lower, which makes sense given the size and amenities.

But what really stood out to me and why I’m giving this review is the attention to detail. That’s something most traditional gyms tend to overlook. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they care about the experience. The cleanliness is top-notch, the equipment is well-maintained, and everything feels thoughtfully put together. The gym smells fresh, the air conditioning is set to a comfortable temperature, and even the showers and sauna have little touches that make the whole experience feel premium.

If you’re just looking for a cheap place to work out, this probably isn’t the gym for you. But if you’re someone who values a high-end experience and appreciates the little things, I think you’ll love it here. Sure, the membership might seem pricey at first, but when you factor in all the amenities, the over 100 weekly classes, and the overall quality, it’s absolutely worth it.

They even offer parking for around $4 for two hours, which is a nice bonus. The location itself adds to the appeal it feels safe, upscale, and motivating. As someone who really values the details, I can confidently say this gym nails them. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.

I rather enjoy this gym. It's incredibly clean, their cleaning staff is constantly going around and even offered to clean my machines before I use them. I love the music and lighting because as soon as I walk in, it energizes me and motivates me to workout. Well ventilated and the temperature stays cool in the summer. A comment said that it's too loud to take calls, I'm personally against people taking calls while working out so I love that. Locker rooms, showers and steam rooms are impeccable. It's not huge but most gyms in the area that are at that price point aren't either, I've hardly had to wait for anything at the times I go. Obviously the equipment, bars and ropes are all new. Nice smoothie bar, with water and protein bars that you can purchase with self checkout even if when it's closed. It's my favorite gym I've been to in Seattle.

Had a back and forth in emailing with one of their reps Eva, while she kept trying to convince me to get on a call instead of communicating anything about the rates after reaching out.

I haven't had this issue when previously with Equinox in Austin, but solely based on the fact that I can't get a straight answer of the person whose job it is to communicate with potential clients about their inquiries, I'll take it as this indicates the experience of this location as a whole.

As I see a lot of other reviewers have noted, this seems to be a common theme with this gym. They contact you and are very responsive initially, but only on their terms will the answer you. Added bonus of the strangeness that she was searching for me and found out where I worked and mentioned that in an email too. Overall a strange, poor experience that I wouldn't have anticipated based on my previous interactions with Equinox.

Absolutely hate it here. The gym floor is ok, but it is tiny, I usually go at lunch so it’s not too busy. I mainly signed up for the workout classes, but they are awful. The Pilates studio has all the lights on and they pack people in. The main studio is too bright and completely open to the gym floor. The locker rooms have the most basic amenities, the hair dryers are the cheap ones most hotels have. Reformer Pilates and the massage robot cost extra. I would only recommend if you are only going to use the normal gym equipment and aren’t a heavy lifter (if you’re big into weightlifting they won’t have enough equipment). It has none of the benefits of other equinoxes in terms of social activities. I know a couple of people who also signed up when it opened and they are all trying to quit or have done so already. OAC in Ballard is a way, way better option.

You basically can only get out of the membership if you are moving or have a doctor’s note, luckily I’m moving, but honestly I would move just to get out of this membership.

Alright here’s my brutally honest review where I’ll try to be as objective as possible with pros, cons, and some caveats.Fair warning, I think the cons outweigh the pros. This is over a 2 day trial period where I did a class and 2 individual work outs. I’m a male that is very active in the gym.

Pros: -Its very clean
- It should have everything you need to get a good lifting sesh in (assuming machines are available)
-The locker room is immaculate with plenty of amenities needed like soaps and razors.
- A TON of classes to choose from if that’s what you need for motivation. (Cycling, yoga, Pilates, etc…)
- Has a steam room in locker rooms
-The equipment they have is high quality with good attachments to use.
-Objectively, the staff is overall attractive. If that’s what you’re going for I guess. I’m scrapping the barrel here for Pros.
-plenty of cardio equipment

Cons: -TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT YOU GET!
-No Pool
- Only 3 squat racks
- Not enough free weight plates. I was walking around the gym to find what I needed.
- Only about 1 of each machine with a few exceptions so you’re often waiting to use something especially during busy hours.
- They don’t cover parking, just a discount to $4/ 2 hrs. (If you go 20x a month that’s an extra $80 per month to an already expensive membership.)
- Wasn’t impressed from what I saw with the personal trainers and their trainees (a bit subjective, but I could have written better programs from what I saw. P.S. I have a kinesiology degree)
- Often out of disinfectant wipes to clean equipment.

Caveats: -obviously only had a 2 day trial so it’s a limited view.
- I didn’t get to try all classes but the yoga class seemed nice.
-there are other amenities that I wasn’t super sure of and didn’t have time to try but also felt were unnecessary for me or most of your average gym goers.

I’ve been working out at Equinox Rainier Square since about 6 weeks after they opened, and I’ve been really impressed! The space is beautiful, clean, and everything is brand new and feels luxe. I’ve been a member at other Equinox locations before, and this one definitely lives up to the Equinox standard.

Any grand opening kinks, like concerns around parking, seem to have been smoothed out. I’ve never had an issue with the garage being full. The gym floor is never overly busy, and I’ve always been able to get the equipment I need.

The locker rooms are gorgeous and well-maintained, and every time I’ve used the steam room, I’ve been the only person using it.

Overall, I feel motivated to keep coming back and genuinely look forward to my workouts here. Shout out to Joseph, Sydney, and Eva who have all been wonderful to work with!

Try the robot massage! Two robot arms massage your back or legs with precision, after scanning your exact position in the bed. The massage pressure is instantly adjustable on the screen beneath the face cradle, and feels like a massage with the palm of someone's hand. The massage can't reach areas like your neck or feet, but does a decent job of back and thighs.
The gym is lavish and extensive with stairs and beautiful sitting areas with huge windows.

Hello,

It’s true that Equinox Seattle is more basic compared to other Equinox locations it doesn’t have the same high-end facilities. But when I signed up, Joseph was very clear that it wouldn’t be like the London club I was used to, so I had realistic expectations. I’m also paying about half the price I used to pay in London, so that makes sense.

That said, I still think it’s the best gym in Seattle. It’s incredibly clean, and the weight section is one of the best I’ve seen. I took a Precision Run class and loved the instructor. The mat Pilates classes are excellent, and I’ve also heard great things about the barre classes.

The locker rooms and changing areas are spotless, and the smoothies are hands down the best in Seattle.

One person who has truly made the experience special for me is Eva, she’s so kind and welcoming.

As for Joseph, I don’t understand all the negative comments. I can understand some frustration about the gym not having certain features, but that’s no reason to criticize someone personally. In my experience, Joseph has been professional, helpful, and clearly committed to getting the club up and running. Opening a new gym is no small task.

Yes, it’s a one-year commitment, but they were transparent about it from the start.

So yes, this may be a more basic version of Equinox but even at that, it’s still the most luxurious gym in Seattle. All the machines are brand new, the class quality is top-level with some of the best instructors in town, and the service is excellent. The changing rooms and steam room are clean and well-maintained.

Would it be great to have an indoor or outdoor pool? Of course 😆 but we all knew what facilities were included before signing up, and it wouldn’t be the same price if those amenities were added!

I've never been a gym person and didn't have any real fitness routine before joining Equinox. Since it opened a month ago, l've been training with Henry and already seeing real progress toward my overall fitness and self-care goals. The gym has very quickly become part of my weekly routine, and training with Henry has made a huge difference through encouragemnt, accountability, form/technique, and most importantly results. Overall, I give Equinox five stars for its quality personal training, in-studio classes, cleanliness, and staff friendliness (the primary downside is no free parking). Also, highly highly highly recommend Henry if you're considering personal training. You will undoubtably see and feel results.

I was so excited that an Equinox would be opening up in Seattle. Such a huge letdown and actually kind of embarrassing with the way the salespeople were hyping it up. Super small, I cancelled my gym membership immediately with how tiny I saw . They don't offer anything more than the standard gym for an outrageous monthly of $205 which is what I got for the founding member rate. They have 1 studio with mirrors and 1 floor of the gym. The views aren't that nice, low ceilings in the workout area. They reserved the nicer parts of the building for their shop, check in area, and lounge area. No pool, no hot tub, no sauna, no steam room. Has small bathrooms with only 4 stations at the vanity, with only 4 bathroom stalls. They replaced Kiehl's shampoo/conditioner/body wash with their own formula of things. I've been to the one in Irvine and SF and this is by far the worst one. Parking is $4 for 2 hours I believe, with parking validation. I paid $10 for 30 ish minutes when the gym was still in its showroom phase and they didn't have parking validation yet. Not worth it, although I will say it is one of the most luxurious gyms so sign up if you just want the aesthetics and status, lol.

It’s been honestly, a disappointing experience paying this high fee. I was expecting a luxury gym experience. It’s more of a large apartment gym. The lights are so disturbing, I have to close my eyes when I stretch because I don’t wanna go blind. When I’m on the stairmaster, my head is so close to the lights, it gives me a headache. The music is so loud in the lounge, mind you when I toured before they opened and I asked if I can work from here, they said yes. Come to find the lounge area is just an extention of the gym, people use it to stretch and the music is incredibly so loud, I can hear the music through my noise canceling AirPods. They also advertise comping parking; however, I rarely find available spots. I end up driving back home and walking 20 minutes to be able to use my membership.

Really underwhelming. Was an early founders member and this place sucks. Had so much potential! From poor layout, poor equipment choices, no redundancy, terrible parking policy, no sauna / hot tub, over emphasis on fashion over function, and annoying sales associates, I’ll be sticking with the far better gym, Lifetime Bellevue for now.

I don't think reviews do this gym justice - Eva was amazing from sign-up to any follow-ups I had.
The gym doesn't have a ton of lifting machines, but it's not crowded, and I never had to wait for any equipment.
Showers are great and definitely above anything in Seattle. Best gym on this side of Washington Lake.

I primarily go for group classes. I joined at founding membership rates, and the variety of classes + quality of instructors (been AMAZING so far) + timings + location works out really well for me!! Definitely better than the other group fitness gyms I’ve tried. I’ve really enjoyed my first two weeks at equinox.

But I totally understand the gripes about parking - I wouldn’t join the gym if it wasn’t super close to work tbh (or if I didn’t lock in during founding rates).

-2 stars for maintenance/laundry service, -1 star for parking. Everything else seems fine to me, maybe a slightly smaller gym than expected, but understandable. Not sure whats up with laundry service, but half my clothes went missing and ended up in lost and found. I had other small items go missing previously, and I thought it was just a memory blip on my end, but now it makes sense. Would find a better way to secure the laundry bag and items so they don’t go missing. In regards to parking, $4 for two hrs is rough. Ideally parking would be free… otherwise would cut it down to $1-2 for three hrs or something, I think most would like to workout + take a class, so three hours should be sufficient…

Joined right when they opened, facilities are new and clean! The space is one floor and an interesting layout but overall really like it and it never feels crazy crowded. The biggest perk are the classes! Such a great selection, hours, and instructors. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a high end gym with classes in downtown/capitol hill. I’ve pretty much tried them all and Equinox is the best.

Massive flub on Equinox’s part. Have had an Equinox membership for years, for gym access when traveling, and was pumped when they announced the opening. Enthusiasm lasted about a day. It’s a clean gym (obviously, it’s brand new) and the facilities are nice but that’s about it. Equipment is severely limited - 1 bosu ball, 1 pair of TRX bands, 1 smith machine, no typical ancillary equipment / machines. The water fountains (a pretty critical component of a gym) have been broken for over a week now. The parking is abysmal (very limited space and the validation machine is either broken or doesn’t validate if you’re there for more than an hour). In a city with approximately zero nice full-service gyms it should have been a cake walk to open an Equinox that impressed. Hopefully someone else will give it a try.

Will echo what others have already stated.

1. The gym itself is decent, fun to workout in downtown Seattle with generally good views. Could use some more squat racks and deadlift platforms though. Also, there’s not really a room to do any body weight exercises or abs. Makes it difficult doing it in the open with people constantly walking by.

2. Not sure if it’s because it’s still new but it’s pretty crowded even on off hours. A lot of these people working out appear to be the “coaches” who I see swap shirts and must be able to use the gym. Nothing wrong with this but it does tend to contribute to the overcrowding.

3. The whole parking situation is abysmal. The first few times I had no way of knowing that parking was validated so I was paying the full $13. I then discovered I could get it for $4. The frustrating part is when you drive all the way there on a Wednesday at 11 AM only to find that the garage is full and to be told I need to leave. Called the front desk and they didn’t have any alternate parking spots and also weren’t even aware that it was full. Having to pay $4 for a garage that isn’t always open and for a luxury gym seems super low of equinox.

4. It seems like they are alwayyyss cleaning the showers. Makes it awkward having to step over cords and steam cleaners after getting out of the shower.

5. As others have said, the people who recruit you to join are very responsive up until the time you send them your first payment. Then they turn into pumpkins. Good luck having any issues resolved.

6. They don’t sell physical gift cards here. Frustrating as I like to purchase as gifts for friends and family. Apparently they did but then magically sold out after a week?

7. Figured there’d be at least some sort of Spa that was included with the membership. Seems to be only the steam room which gets crowded. No massage chairs, no cold plunge, nothing.

Overall I’ll give it two stars but probably closer to one. Sydney the GM needs to quickly get this place under control or will lose out on what could’ve been a great gym!

I signed up for my first group lesson at 12:15pm, which was with Sasha Hanway. Unfortunately, there was no information on the website about the late policy. I arrived at the door at exactly 12:15, and despite being visible and on time, Sasha locked the door and refused to let me in. Another staff member was attempting to check me in but was also unable to open the door.

This experience was extremely frustrating, especially when you're trying to fit in a workout during a tight lunch break. Being ignored and dismissed like that felt disrespectful of my time and effort. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Sasha’s class—it lacked understanding and basic courtesy.

They also don’t have a pull up assist machine !!!

Despite this unpleasant experience, I still think the gym is nice and clean. I like the layout and the people that work there. Very friendly and nice.

I’m a member, and I gotta say, it’s honestly just OK. The main reason I stayed is because my office is in RST, so it’s very convenient for me to hit the gym after work. But peak hours or not, I expect a gym like equinox to have enough machines and space for people to do whatever workout they want. And yet, I find myself standing in line for many of the machines.
Another point I wanted to make, I got onboarded to membership through Joseph Cha, and this guy gave me really strange vibes. His communication style was aggressive and passive at the same time. My friend went to ask him about membership the other day and she said that he made her feel uncomfortable, as if he was frustrated with her because she had so many questions. That is just unacceptable. Not a fan of this guy, really don’t like seeing him around the gym.

I recently completed a trial at Equinox and, while I ultimately decided not to move forward with membership, I genuinely had a great experience—especially thanks to Fred and the team.

Fred was consistently thoughtful, supportive, and responsive throughout the entire process. He made me feel welcomed from day one and was never pushy, which I really appreciated. The staff overall was professional, flexible, and communicative—something that really stood out compared to other gyms.

While the club itself is modern and well-maintained, just a few personal notes: parking can be a bit tricky depending on timing, there’s no pool at this location, and the class style wasn’t quite the right fit for me. That said, I could see it being a perfect match for someone who enjoys a high-energy group fitness environment.

Overall, I’d highly recommend giving Equinox a try—especially if you value premium facilities and an attentive, supportive team. Huge thanks again to Fred and the crew for such a positive experience.

While I can sympathize with some of the other commenters complaints, as someone who works nearby and can walk to club, this has been a great experience so far. I don’t think I’d be a member if I didn’t live or work nearby (see parking comments), but that should apply to most gyms located in dense urban areas.

$4 for 2-hour parking per visit is ridiculous. If you were to go to the gym 5 days/week, that’s approximately $84/month. Since the rate I was quoted was $235/month, that’d be an additional 36% in parking fees. Even if you can afford it, it’s an insult to not provide complimentary parking, even if limited.

As a fan of Equinox gyms in LA and NYC, I was thrilled for the Seattle location, but it’s a major letdown at $300 a month. The weightlifting area is small and overcrowded, making workouts feel constrained. Unlike other Equinox gyms, you’re charged extra for the sauna, cold plunge, and even parking, which feels like a rip off for a “luxury” gym. While the locker rooms are sleek and spotless, that’s not enough to justify the steep price. Seattle deserves a full scale Equinox with spacious facilities and an all-inclusive amenities, not this compact, bare bones setup. I hope they step up to deliver the premium experience the brand is known for.

If you’re new to Equinox, beware: the cancellation policy locks you into a year long contract with no easy way out unless you face extreme circumstances, like death or disability. I was out of town during the opening days and missed the cancellation window, assuming the Seattle location would deliver the same high quality experience as other Equinox gyms. I would’ve been fine with the commitment if the quality matched, but now I’m stuck, and it’s frustrating.

Was told there would be “private spas” for multiple people. There is one cold plunge room that you have to pay extra for. The gym equipment is mid at best. The gym itself is way smaller than I thought it would be. The steam room at least in the men’s area only fits like five people tops. Little details like their trap bars only fitting two plates max on each side doesn’t really fit in with a well-thought-out gym. The sales staff only are responsive (or nice) before you pay them. Lotion, towels, or a pretentious attitude from staff do not make a place high-end. The bathroom is nice but bring the spa experience like you do in NYC and then we’ll talk.

Gym is decent for an Equinox. The biggest issue is parking. $4 per visit feels like nickel and diming when you already pay over $250/mo (incl. tax). The parking lot also fills up, and the attendant will tell you to back up and wait in the loading dock area for someone to leave the garage. Backing up from the only entrance gate when you have cars behind you and in a tight loading dock area is a huge pain. Keep in mind the attached picture was taken at 11am on a Tuesday (not peak hours). This is unacceptable for such a high monthly price tag.

It's funny how people are venting about one staff member and giving this place one star. Y'all know that you can escalate your concerns to management, right?

I used to be a member of Equinox Flatiron and it was the flagship location before Hudson Yards opened. I really missed the quality of the gym there and while the Seattle location certainly doesn't meet that level, what can you expect from the first week of the first gym in Seattle? OF COURSE it's going to be crowded when the gym first opens.

Relative to other gyms in Seattle, I freaking love this place. After moving out west, it's so nice to have this place be my reminder of the excellence and ambition out on the East Coast.

I'm not a big group fitness guy, so this review is solely based on the amenities and the gym space itself. YES, relative to other Equinoxes, this place isn't 5 stars. But relative to other gyms in Seattle? Absolutely.

It also looks like a lot of the negative reviews are about one specific staff member. That's an easy fix for the gym. Seattleites are really impossible to please and will post a review instead of talking to management. Jesus. Talk about passive aggressive.

To the person complaining about parking prices: you're paying 200+/mo for a gym membership and complaining about $4 for 2 hour parking. Maybe you can't afford the gym then?

Idea and concept were great. Genuinely think Seattle could have supported a full blown Equinox with pool, basketball, large weightlifting area etc.

But this one…it is really small.

One of the worst feelings in a gym is being cramped / lack of sq ft. plus people on top of you.

Hope the next one they open in Seattle isn’t a micro-gym.

Seattle has long been overdue for a truly elevated downtown gym, and Equinox delivers. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels premium: luxe locker rooms, abundance of top-tier weight and cardio equipment (e.g. $16K Woodway Treadmills), Eucalyptus towels, group fitness studios, and thoughtful touches throughout, like mirrors in front of every squat rack and dedicated recovery zones with specialized flooring.

Totally get the frustration—parking in Seattle is never perfect. But $4 for two hours in a downtown garage? That’s a win. It’s comparable to street parking, minus the hunt and the stress.

As for the gym feeling crowded--it just opened. There’s likely a surge of guests checking it out, but as people settle into their routines, things will level out. And maybe… a little buzz is a good thing? When a restaurant has a waitlist, we see it as a sign it’s worth it. We celebrate that energy in nightlife—but somehow, not in fitness? I’d argue it’s a good sign when people are showing up, especially when the gym offers multiple free weight zones, a versatile multi-purpose room, and generous hours to spread the load.

TL; DR: Equinox Seattle raises the bar. If you're looking for a high-end fitness experience that matches the quality you'd find in NYC or LA, this is it. One thing that stands out—especially in Seattle—is the abundance of staff who greet you with a smile and look you in the eye without even asking for a tip on the screen ;).

Experience has been pretty meh so far. The communication and customer service leading up to opening was really bad. At one point I was told Equinox didn’t want members who thought they might quit when I asked if there was a cancellation policy (this was also Joseph Cha, as others have mentioned). There was very little communication about the actual opening except for an email with a date. Gym itself actually felt really small and was weirdly hot and crowded. The class I took was fine but it had a lot of floor work and the floor is really hard and slippery, so it feels like they went for aesthetics over function. Came back to try a different class style and it was similarly underwhelming. This is probably a pass for the price and the 12 month contract.

Know that you have a 3 day right to cancel in Washington and you should exercise that right if you were similarly disappointed. I will say it was easy to cancel by emailing corporate Equinox (not anyone local).

Make sure you read their cancellation policy and you can abide by it. It’s a full year commitment, unless you meet very specific circumstances (death, disability with doctors note, etc). I’m a gym rat that goes to the gym just about everyday, but to not allow month to month to see if I even like it is kinda crazy imo. Such an outdated business model when every other gym is month to month (or at most special discounts for full year commitment).

I don’t know if member advisors are based off commission, but when I signed up with Joseph Cha before the gym opened, I told him I was an AMEX Platinum member and wanted to sign up with my card to get $300 back. He told me that for pre sale they don’t do that and I had to sign up with his direct link. This further confirms my suspicion that they earn commission.

I went through my AMEX portal and signed up just fine and got my $300 credit. So why the lying Joseph?!

I went on opening day. It was fine, but not worth the price. If parking was free, I’d keep the membership, but it’s $4 a day so I cancelled. That adds up especially if you go 4-5x a week.
