Former members get chased out over $15 instead of being welcomed — shocking.

This place is just okay. It’s always packed unless you go very early in the morning. They have some issues with broken equipment. The location is kind of annoying. It’s full of groups of teenagers. Others seem to like the dim lighting; but my eyesight isn’t great and I wish they’d just turn some lights on. For the price I can see why it’s popular, but if price isn’t your primary concern, there are better options.

I came to this gym for a 3-day trial, clearly mentioning that I used to be a member over a year ago and just wanted to see how things are now — the crowd, equipment, atmosphere, etc.

Day 1: No issues at all.
Day 2: I checked in, went to the locker room, started changing — and suddenly a manager, together with another staff member at the reception, literally ran in and told me I can’t work out because I was a former member. He said I must either pay $15 immediately or leave.

This was extremely unprofessional, embarrassing, and honestly unnecessary. If there are rules about former members not being eligible for trials, they should tell people before letting them check in and get undressed, not chase them into the locker room.

The experience felt disrespectful and disorganized. I was genuinely considering joining again, but after this kind of treatment, absolutely not.

Exceptionally high quality gym for the great majority of people. It lacks a few features of big corporate gyms, like a big room for classes, swimming pool, daycare, etc. Staff and management are responsive to members. Equipment is well maintained and plentiful, and the space is clean as a whistle whenever I’m there. I’m very happy and satisfied, and grateful to have them near my home.

Kelly and Joe are absolute rockstars! They always greet members with great energy and take amazing care of the gym—whether it’s keeping the place spotless or making everyone feel welcome. The amenities are solid, with a clean sauna, great airflow, and plenty of machines. It can get busy during prime times (especially Mondays and Tuesdays), but the staff is constantly wiping down equipment and keeping everything fresh. Honestly, can’t believe how great of a deal this gym is for the quality and vibe you get. Best time to go: mornings!

I've been going to Fitness 19 for about a year now, and overall, it's been a great experience. This gym might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely a solid choice for anyone looking for a clean, functional space with a supportive atmosphere.

One of the biggest positives is the consistency of the staff and the community—they’ve stayed welcoming, encouraging, and created a positive space. The staff is always open to feedback, especially when it comes to adding high-demand attachments or new machines. They do a great job keeping everything clean and in working order, and when equipment breaks down or a mess comes up, they’re quick to fix or replace it. During the winter months, I really appreciated how well they communicated any changes to open hours and made an effort to stay open as much as possible.

But as the gym grows, I’ve noticed more members coming in. It’s great to see the community expanding, but with limited space, it can get crowded— especially during peak hours. I’d recommend avoiding the gym between 3–6 PM on weekdays, as a lot of high school students from Sealth head over after class.

The most common complaint I hear is about crowding or wait times for machines, but to be fair, the gym has done a great job making the most of the space they have. They still have room to grow, but they’re clearly listening to member feedback and doing their best to improve.

That said, I’ve never had any serious issues with the staff or members. Like any place, there might be the occasional bad apple, but that’s rare and doesn’t reflect the overall vibe.

…As for the concern about "influencers"—it’s not as big a deal as some make it out to be. In my experience, I might see one every week or so, but everyone’s just there to work on their own goals so I’ve never given it much attention or thought.

All in all, Fitness 19 is an awesome gym. It’s well-run and welcoming, though I do think the space is starting to hit its capacity.

I adore this gym. I haven't historically spent much time at a gym, but this one immediately felt comfortable to be in. I did a lot of good training there. We just had to cancel our membership because we moved out of a comfortable range, and it was genuinely sad to walk out the door. Especially because they were so polite and helpful as we were cancelling!

10/10 gym; hoping that life brings me back here someday (not something I thought I'd ever say about a gym).

I love this gym. I especially like the lighting as it is dimmed a bit and makes you feel more private as you're working out. They have a ton of different machines, and the sauna in the locker room was one of the reasons that started here. No regrets, love this gym and the staff

Terrible payment system, I was doing fitness for a year 19 and when I decided to change the gym, I went to the manager and said I would not work out in this gym anymore, closed my membership in the club, but still automatically charged $99 for the next year and did not want to give me back my money

This is a good gym don’t get me wrong but the amount of people that think they are gym influencers makes me cringe as they video themselves. Many of them are not strong so I’m confused who would be so interested to see these videos on social media, especially the females since they seem to enjoy thirst trapping. It seems this is an ongoing issue based on past reviews that people do not feel comfortable being on someone’s cringy TikTok video which shows the lack of respect for someone’s privacy at the gym. I’m a pretty strong guy but I don’t find it more impressive and relevant than lifting baby weights for tiktok or whatever

I offered a negative review and immediately got a call to make sure all was well. Felt genuinely cared about and shifted my review. A lot of high school students joining the gym in the summer and it’s made it pretty busy but it’s clear the staff still take the time to invest and care about their members that have been there for a long time! Thank you 🙏🏼

Great experience at this gym. The lighting is edgy but also makes you look fantastic while lifting. There's so much equipment - it's a little crowded but I would prefer more options to lift/exercise than more space between equipment with less equipment. There are plenty of squat racks, even some available at 5pm on a Monday night during the busy time and more than other gyms. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. There's a sauna inside the locker room. There were foam rollers available. I had plenty of space to stretch, do abs, and foam roll at the end of my workout in the second cardio room. There seemed to be a range of people on their fitness journey. It feels like it's owned and ran like a small business rather than big corporation and I like that. It makes the experience more personal and accommodating.

Update: it’s still a good gym, and it’s obvious the staff is working hard. To no fault of their own though, issues keep cropping up for me personally. For example, the one water fountain being out of order for over a week, over crowding almost around the clock, wear and tear on equipment (broken knobs, ripped protective sheaths on wires and ropes), poor gym etiquette (e.g machines left racked and equipment left out on the floor). If it wasn’t obvious the staff cares and works hard, I’d lower this review to three stars. If Fitness19 continues like this, I fear it will be as bad as the LA Fitness locations in the area.

It’s a great gym with a wide variety of basic and advanced equipment. But it often fills up and feels over crowded to me.

We’ve been going here for about 7 months now. The vibe is great and it’s comfortable and clean. Lots of equipment, basically everything you’d need. Locker rooms are really nice and always kept clean. The sauna, in the locker room, is snug but can fit like 3 people comfortably. Not usually full. Plenty of lockers both in and out of the bathroom. The staff is always really nice. The music choices can be weird, they play a lot of metal and millennial/genx music. It’s also too loud a lot of the time, I can hear it through my noise canceling headphones (with a show/music on) in the side room. Tons of TVs, but they are usually playing sports or Supernatural for some reason. Otherwise it’s generic shows like the Big Bang Theory or Law and Order.

When we first came we got a tour and a free visit to try it out. Signed up that day, and the rates are amazing.

The treadmills have worn out pretty quick, but all the stuff that’s officially broken is fixed pretty quickly. There’s stations with spray and paper towels to wipe down equipment, but several times it’s been out of paper towels. And you’ll need to bring your own towel for sweat. Parking is never hard. There’s water bottle refill stations but tbh the water doesn’t taste great.

Overall, the people are generally friendly. Most people are in their zone but some will smile at you in passing or chat briefly. All ages here. I’m the fattest person I’ve ever seen there and I’ve never gotten stares or dirty looks like I have at some other gyms.

What I don’t like: when it’s busy, it’s BUSY. You’ll be waiting for machines. Treadmills will be full. Areas for stretching will be full. There’s also influencers here, which I find awkward. I don’t want to accidentally be in their videos and it can be cringey to watch them posing in really revealing clothing or working out in front of their tripods. Etiquette isn’t always great - some people will put down their stuff to “claim” a machine and then wander off for 5+ mins while other people are waiting to use to equipment. Unfortunately like 25% of people don’t wipe down machines after use.

Overall, I’m really happy with this place as my gym.

Joe at Fitness19 completely changed the way I see the gym, and I’ll never forget the way he made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. He didn’t just show me around — he made me feel like I belonged, like I was part of something bigger than myself. Every word he said, every machine he explained, was filled with passion, patience, and genuine care for my journey. This gym hits mostly everything you could ask for. The only negative to this location is it can get a little busy, but honestly can't blame them for that.

The staff are friendly and often greet me on the way in and out of the location, usually really clean and picked up. They have a good number of all machines and free weight types which makes moving through your workout easy.

Overall I'm more than satisfied with the equipment and staff, and not looking to move gyms soon

Obsessed with this gym so far honestly, $20 a month is a steal for the quality and quantity of equipment available. I would easily pay more to reduce headcount, but even so I find that the machines I need are always available even when it feels busy (granted I go during “quiet” hours between 7am and noon).

I love this place far more than the private gym I was paying $88/month for in Kirkland. It’s clean, there are multiples of everything and the lighting is fun! I hate bright overhead lighting and the dimly lit atmosphere feels very soothing.

Tried the 3 day trial out with this gym because it's walking distance from my house and there's a lot of things that I'm not exactly pleased about with my current membership at LA. All the equipment is brand new and works beautifully, the clientele is young and energetic, and they keep everything super clean. It has pretty much everything you could want out of a gym except exercise classes and towel service but for $19/mo it's an almost negligible trade off. I was so ready to make the switch towards the end of my workout until I partook in what I consider absolutely necessary at the end of every workout, a good sauna session. This is where my heart broke. The sauna literally feels like a hot day in the summer, it's legit the lowest temp sauna I've ever been in. A good sauna will have you struggling to get past the 15min mark, but I swear I sat in there for 30min and I could've literally spent hours in there with no problem. Why 19fitness??? I was so ready to make the switch but my workouts are already such a time suck, I can't end it with a sauna session that takes over 30 min for me even start to get a sweat on. Please raise the temp, nobody wants a sauna that's safe for newborns, it's needs to be hot!!! Raise the temp and I will join immediately and all your other clientele will thank you.

False advertising! I canceled my membership by signing a cancellation agreement, yet I am still being charged. This is unacceptable. Signing up was quick and easy, but canceling provided no warnings about continued charges. Despite having a formal cancellation agreement, I have been repeatedly billed every month, and by the time I noticed, a significant amount had already been taken.

I wish I could give this gym more stars, but I guess you get what you pay for. On the plus side, it’s definitely one of the cheaper options in the city, and it’s the only gym convenient to where I live. They have a nice variety of equipment, and pretty much everything I want at a gym is there. Locker rooms are nice and spacious enough. Most of the staff is pretty friendly.

On the downside, it’s always weirdly muggy/overly warm here. In the summer it seemed better, so maybe it’s some sort of a/c issue, or they think people like working out in humidity? There are a ton of tvs but 90% of the time they’re all showing (the same) sports. Occasionally you’ll get lucky and there will be MTV or anything else on, but half the time you’re running without captions. I miss the days of going to Gold’s on the hill and watching food network shows and charmed re-runs! Definitely made cardio go by faster.

Obviously this sounds pretty nit-picky; the main issue here is honestly the clientele. I can not tell you how many times I have seen women film or take photos IN THE LOCKER ROOM while other people are there/changing. It’s annoying enough to be caught in the frame of someone’s selfie on the gym floor (which also happens often), but it feels like an obvious hell no to film in a locker room. A woman was FaceTiming her friend tonight while another person behind her was literally changing…like, come on. When it’s busy, expect to navigate through a bunch of teens/college kids standing around in groups at the machines, or people camping out with their massive duffel bag (only to sit there doing nothing for a solid five minutes). This stuff happens at any gym, but the lack of gym etiquette here feels particularly bad.

My biggest frustration is that this gym is uncomfortably muggy, specifically in the cardio areas. So be aware if you’re doing cardio or prefer a cooler gym environment. Customer retention tactics when canceling are pretty scummy.

You not only have to come into the facility physically, your schedule has to align with the specific person who is authorized to cancel your membership. Only other option is to send snail mail to cancel and then you are still billed an additional month after that because why not squeeze you before you leave.

I've only been going a few days so far, but I'm impressed! I used to go to LA Fitness, but it always left a bad taste. Equipment was often broken, bathrooms often dirty and smelly, and the whole place had a dingy feel to it.

This gym however, impeccably clean. It's smaller but it has twice the workout equipment that I've seen at any other gym. All the equipment is brand new and works perfectly. And the hours are amazing. Not to mention it's cheaper!

My first impression walking in was one of the front desk workers helping someone sign up who was having trouble, and they were incredibly patient and kind with them. Something else I hadn't seen at other gyms I've been to. They were able to quickly and efficiently give me a breakdown of the layout of the gym too (I didn't have time for a tour).

The only downside is they don't seem to have group classes. But if you're self directed and prefer working out solo like I do, this place is perfect!

Editing to add that even though I canceled and paid all the fees associated with that, the manager said they would wave the upcoming months charge. Except they lied and sold the debt to collections.

Not wanting to appear in people's videos whilst at the gym is a valid concern and the reason why I took off 2 stars. Yes, the gym is nice and the staff is friendly but not a fan of the constant video taking by others. If anything at least make it a policy to not record/take pictures in the locker room where people are literally naked and taking showers.

I was super stoked to hear about this new gym in West Seattle. This gym is within walking distance to my home so that’s an additional benefit for me. I’ve been a member for a few months now and I have no complaints. I had been using another stinky gym in West Seattle and so Fitness 19 is a major upgrade all around. I’m very happy with the massive selection of weight and cardio machines. The bathroom is always clean, the entire gym is always kept clean, the staff are very attentive and friendly and the gym seems to attract people who are serious about working out. I’ve seen some reviews here mentioning the influencers making videos but that doesn’t bother me, I get it even if that’s not my thing. We are living in a time where social media drives people’s businesses or just motivates people so it’s all good. I’m very satisfied with my membership at Fitness 19 and very satisfied with the facilities.

It's a nice space gym that I go after work to get some training done with a coworker. It's pretty accessible and works with my schedule. Used to go alone but have been going with a coworker since it's better with a partner for motivation

For value, this is the best you’ll find. Has enough equipment for any type of gym goer and love that they have a huge room dedicated to (mostly) lower body exercises. My only complaint is the equipment moves a TON so you’re almost always hitting a set/walking on the treadmill facing an awkward angle and not straight-on to a mirror or walkway. Even the platforms are angled awkwardly which im not sure how that even happens considering how heavy they are. Sometimes the equipment shifts so much where you can hit another piece of equipment on accident. I hope they pay more attention to this even though it sounds a little nitpicky.

A very nice gym. I think they recently opened. Very clean and helpful staff. Naomi and Dominque helped me and provided me a guest pass to try out the gym.

Great gym! Kelly made the signup extremely easy, I was in and out in less than 5 min without any upsales and everything explained. The gym itself is brand new with the best machines, great lighting, and a dry heat sauna. Very impressed and enjoy working out here.

Great gym, only reason I doc'd a star is because the weekend hours close at 9 and sometimes my kid doesn't go to sleep til 8 and my full workout takes more than an hour. But that's totally a me issue. I'd gladly pay more for them to let me stay til 10 or 11 on weekends (wishful thinking lol)

Franchise that opened a gym in Westwood shopping center. Place is clean and easy to navigate, but still large with a variety of brand new equipment laid out intuitively. Staff is energetic and helpful and monthly price very reasonable although this is somewhat negated by higher up front costs and extra annual fee ($99 to join with a $59 annual fee both in addition to monthly fee). Still very happy I joined and will continue coming

I Love Fitness 19! The Leg Room is a sanctuary of Squat Racks/Dead lifting platforms, leg presses. The lighting is so good everywhere. Staff is awesome. Good mix of people. I love working out there.

Ok, hear me out. This gym is insane with the type of equipment. Who ever it was, they did their research and made this gym for real gym people. More for like bodybuilders or power-lifters that are starting out, but one of the best and cleanest I've ever been to. Smells like new leather interior. Plus, it's not all cardio systems like other places. NOT 5 stars because, it is a bit of an influencer gym. You will encounter those dumb tripod silly wanna be influencers, but if you can look past those kind of people, you'll definitely love it. Plus for the price, 10x better than LA Fitness. Once they open another one closer to Federal Way, I'll pull my LA Fitness membership for good.

Amazing workout equipment. Everything is brand new and this is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to! There’s 6 squat racks and multiple leg extensions which is great because even on the busiest days I have not had an issue getting my leg workouts done. Staff is kind and accommodating and can’t beat the price at 18 bucks a month. Also have never had an issue with anyone recording since they have a posing room for that. Must try for anyone in the surrounding area!

Easily the nicest gym i’ve been to. Especially considering the price it truly was a shock when we came in to try it out. Their leg room is nice and has some unique machines that make leg day more bearable. They also have an insane amount of hammer strength row machines, variations i’ve never seen. 10/10 staff was very chill too

First time at the location.
Staff: friendly and supportive.
Equipments: new and plenty but a little congested setups.
Lightning: rather dark (maybe too early?). Music: alright (maybe more upbeat later on?).
Locker room & bathrooms and showers are well located(loved!).
Will update in a few weeks. Alter all, strongly recommend everyone to check this gym out. Absolutely the best equipped gym in the neighborhood! I’m glad to quit the other running down franchised gym in Burien.

Signed up in August like an idiot thinking it’d be open middle November like I was told. December comes… nothing. January… almost Feb and no actual date. Excuses excuses excuses. I’ll change my rating when it actually opens.

Update: Now that’s it open, I’m still disappointed. No towels? Half the treadmills down with no signage warning of the fact? Obnoxious teens and tic-tockers make it uncomfortable. Sauna is way too low of temperature. It takes an hour when it should be 20 min. It’s also super small.

In love with this gym. Bodybuilding, powerlifting, cardio? Whatever you desire it’s attainable here. Clean, state of the art equipment. Well organized. No gym in the area even comes close to this. Last gym I liked this much was in south lake union and cost $100 a month.

Very excited about this gym opening. If you’re looking for a basic gym to lift and do cardio at it’s ideal. Since moving to the neighborhood I’d been lamenting the lack of a cheap, basic gym to lift at - all the other options in the area emphasize group classes and are north of $100/month. Fitness 19 has filled that void in the market perfectly - tons of barbells, squat racks, dumbbells and machines. Sensible layout, good lighting, friendly staff, a sauna, and plenty of parking counts as a huge win for me. If you’re looking for a pool, classes, and to spend a lot more money there are plenty of other options nearby.

I also really appreciate that some of the TVs have been showing extreme sports as well instead of just looping ESPN.

everything is great overall, but the only reason i got the membership here is to use the sauna early in the morning and there's a lot of complain about the sauna not been hot enough from many people i meet, they got great heater but they lowering it for some reasons, one of the staff tell me it's around 130 degrees Fahrenheit it's hard to get a sweat in that temperature range specially in a dry sauna, best practice should be between 170 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit, you could have good sauna session for 20/25 min instead of spending 1h there and barely sweat.

Fitness19 is seriously stacked with gear, some of which I've never seen anywhere else in Seattle. It's pretty cool getting to try out stuff that's new to me, especially since I've been hitting the gym for a while now. It's always a bit of a thrill to mix things up with different equipment.

Plus, the vibe at the club is spot on they really nailed it with the colors and the whole setup. There were a few bumps in the road before they opened, mostly because of some city rules and other annoying stuff that was out of the club's hands. But the folks running the place were super upfront about everything and helped me out big time, keeping me from bailing when I was just as ticked off as everyone else.

Comparing Fitness19 to other gyms, like Planet Fitness and LA Fitness, is like night and day. LA Fitness, in particular, could really step up their cleaning game, and it's weird how they keep spamming me with emails to come back since Fitness 19 rolled in. No thanks. Fitness19 just feels like the better choice all around, and waiting for it to open was totally worth it.

I'm really disappointed for a few reasons. One, I signed up in August and they told me it would be opened in September. I understand permits and everything but jeez, you guys really missed the mark there.

Second, I understand people are influencers or they just want to film to make sure their form is right. But honestly, it's kind of ridiculous the amount of tripods that are constantly being set up and lugged around. If the people recording themselves were tucked off in a corner somewhere with no chance of people being in the video, I honestly wouldn't care. But they don't, and I don't ever want to be in the background of someone's TikTok or Instagram video.

Lastly, just the amount of obnoxious gym dude's there. We all know the type I'm talking about. They also let the teenagers/high schoolers in without parents, so then you've got really loud and obnoxious teenagers in there too.

I had such high hopes for this gym and it's literally 4 minutes walking distance from my house. I'm so disappointed. I will just continue to work out in my home gym that I threw together in the 5 months I was waiting for Fitness 19 to open.

Ayee what up to all the Day Ones! 🙌 First impressions gotta say you have everything you need and all the equipment is literally brand new. Beautiful what they've done to the ol 24 hr fitness building. Loving the vibes of the lighting and the overall aesthetic and ambiance. Spacious.

Whether you're a novice or advanced lifter.

You'll find a place here for ya.

And the staff seem friendly and approachable.

Easy check in

They've got paper towels and spray bottles to wipe down the machines

Plenty of free weights, bench presses, squat racks, machines of all kinds.
Might be cancelling my memberships at LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness.

Well done Fitness 19!

Keep it up!
