I recently had a class here with Kristine who was subbing in. Fit and Flexy was quite different from my intro class, but I appreciated the challenge! Instructor was upbeat and gave clear instructions for variations, if needed for the challenging poses, which I appreciated. I probably could’ve had the silk a little higher, but next time I will communicate that. It was only my second class.
Also, I wish there was morning classes! Would be nice to start the day upside down. >.<

Update: Currently taking private 1-1 lessons with Hannah. She is a really fun teacher and gives clear instructions. I feel like I have learned so much just from taking my first class with her. Plus the studio doesn't get as warm with just two people! I highly recommend doing these classes if you're starting out!

The Central District is my favorite of the Flight Room locations. The schedule works best for me and the instructors have all been very supportive. I did a trial and then signed up for a membership. People of all body types and experience levels can have a positive experience here.

I love, love, love classes at Flight Room! :) I started here a few months ago (highly recommend an intro Flight Foundations Workshop with Patty if you can make it happen) and then started working my way through different levels and styles of classes. I was a little intimidated starting out because I had never done anything like this before, but there's no need to be. I am so glad to find an activity that is challenging (but not TOO out of my comfort zone) and varied to keep me interested. Highly recommend!!

This studio is truly exceptional. Having relocated to another part of the country three years ago, I still find myself missing it greatly. The owner, along with the instructors and trainers, are not only highly skilled and professional but also genuinely kind and welcoming. I highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to practice aerial yoga in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Absolutely love the classes here! I have only taken a handful so far, and am brand new to aerial. I found the classes to be very welcoming and approachable for a newbie, while still being challenging and pushing me a little out of my comfort zone. Love that they have a lot of options for higher energy workout classes (like barre-style classes) as well as super chill relaxation/stretching focused classes. Pretty good array of class schedules too, and there's multiple locations so it's not hard to find something that works for my somewhat chaotic schedule.

I'm a big fan and annual member as of 9 months ago. I'd never inverted before trying aerial, so this has been a very empowering and safe experience. What I like about the aerial classes on offer is the variety of options and teachers. There are different classes devoted to restorative stretching/relaxation, conditioning, and fancy tricks, so you can hit all your fitness goals. And the support of the fabric as you hang really lets you decompress your spine. I've also found a lot of community here, and I love seeing the joy on peoples' faces as they explore their boundaries and learn the amazing things they can do. I highly recommend giving aerial yoga a try!

Great instructors and a broad range of classes! I started coming over a year ago when I wanted something different to add to my yoga practice. I was happy to find that they not only offer flow (yoga-like) classes, but also FIT cardio/strength classes, barre, and of course fun aerial/acrobatic classes. I get bored with workout routines easily, so the variety keeps me engaged! I get a workout without realizing it, which is my favorite kind. The community is also very welcoming :)

I was always in awe of anything circus-y, dance-y, sequence-y, etc. but I felt like Goldilocks trying to find the perfect apparatus. Also I was not a naturally strong, graceful, or flexible person before I started and I have a lot chronic pain. But the versatility of the fabric, depending on what class/level you take from stretching to yoga poses to trick sequences is so freaking cool. This studio is so welcoming. Each instructor brings something unique to the table. You get your own hammock the whole class every class! I spent many years doing low impact cardio now I’m looking forward to spending many years learning more of this amazing aerial art!

I just recently moved from Phoenix to Seattle and have been doing aerial for several years. I found Flight Room a few months ago and did their 2 week intro offer. I was late to my first class due to traffic and missed the start time so the door was locked. I was bummed but they were very helpful in refunding the late fee and I made it to class the next day with no issues. Parking can sometime be difficult in the area so I now arrive 20 minutes before class. The classes and teachers are absolutely worth it and I regularly go 4x a week now :)

Been coming here for over a year now and I love it so much! The different varieties of classes keep things interesting, and all of the instructors are so knowledgeable - I truly feel like I learn something different from everyone I take class from. Everyone, both staff and other students, has been so supportive from the very start of my aerial journey to beginning the advanced play classes a few months ago.

HORRIBLE. Signed up for a class with my friend and my first experience was being locked out of the facility, not even allowed to sit inside.

I was never informed about not being able to enter if I arrived late due to uncontrollable situations like accidents on the road.

The google and the website doesn’t have a number for me to call.

The website says they would charge an extra $20 for a no show yet the door to the facility is locked. So disrespectful that the teacher even saw me but couldn’t pop her head out to tell me about the rules.

I would never recommend anyone to go here, what a disappointment. Horrible customer service.

I started going to the CD studio summer 2023 and I am borderline about to make aerial hammock my whole personality. It’s SO fun and have loved that the evolution in leveling up has also meant entering more social classes which only means even more immaculate *vibes*.

I tried my first ballet play class tonight (not a dancer) completely sure that I would be making a fool of myself but honestly loved it. Alexandra fosters a very engaged and fun environment and the class was so approachable.

If challenging yourself in a fun and positive way and discovering your inner god(dess) isn’t your thing then fine but you’re wrong. Otherwise, try these studios!!

Can't believe I haven't reviewed Flight Room yet. I tried this studio thanks to ClassPass in April 2022. After a subpar experience at a different studio that offered aerial yoga, I decided to try Flight Room instead of giving up on the practice entirely and I'm so happy I did because Flight Room got me hooked! My first class ever was with Jenny and she created such a welcoming space and a great beginner class environment that I decided to keep coming.

It's been over a year and I can definitely say Flight Room has changed my entire fitness outlook. I used to hate "exercise" but this is so much fun! It's work but feels so rewarding, and I am so much stronger and more flexible than I was last year! All the teachers are great, they have different teaching styles too but are all awesome. And they have so many class types for whatever you're looking for. Just wanna do yoga with a twist? Tons of flow flights in all 3 studios (they have Green Lake and Ballard too). Want a more aerobics jam? FIT or Fit & Flexy will be your favorite. Want to try some cirque-ish tricks? Level up to Play classes--I'll see you there!

I've been taking classes here for about two months and I love it! It is such a unique way to have fun and get some great exercise. Recently I just took my mom to her first class and she had a great experience! Our teacher, Alexandra, was excellent! Would definitely recommend taking one of her classes. She helped my mom along the way and made the class super fun! Love Flight Room, cant recommend it enough!

I've been attending classes at the different Flight Room studios for a little under a year now, and I've loved the classes I've taken at Flight Room CD, even if it's a little farther from my home studio of Ballard. I've taken new friends to Tiffany's beginner class, and they have loved it - Tiffany does a great job of creating an inclusive environment for new to aerial yoga and ensuring no one feels embarrassed regardless of where they're at. I also love Fae's Intro to Play on Saturdays! Fae does an awesome job of creating a community of students helping each other learn new sequences and meeting new goals. Thanks CD Instructors for the awesome classes!

Also, love the vibe of the CD studio and how many hammocks there are!

I've been attending classes for almost 4 months, 2 to 3 times a week at all the locations with a variety of instructors. According to my bmi, I am morbidly obese but with the exception of 1 instructor I have always felt very comfortable in the classes, aka no fat shaming vibes. It is great to go to a place and not feel fat shamed. I am actually fairly athletic despite my size. I weigh in at 220 lbs! I have been struggling with a tail bone injury and post covid vaccine neuropathy in one of my legs that has caused numbness, muscle instability, balance issues and often what seems like partial paralysis. I attended pt and had a bad experience so I decided to try hammock yoga to supplement my yoga practice at home. I'm in love with hammock yoga, it provides alternatives for me to be able to safely stretch and it has nearly solved all my neuropathy issues. My back, neck, and jaw pain which I have had my entire life are gone. My flexibility and strength are improving and I feel amazing. I know that I am not able to do all the movement with ease like a lot of other folks but instructors have helped me find alternatives and have given tips and tricks for me to be able to get into poses. I can't wait to continue to grow and lose some weight so I can be able to do some movements that my weight definitely impacts. I thought I was going to suffer with this neuropathy forever and this practice has saved me from that torture.

Our group had a private birthday party hosted at this location. Oksana, our instructor, was amazing and led us through a beginner class with an excellent warm-up that led into some fun inversion work. She was great at carefully breaking down each movement into easy-to-understand instructions. We all had a wonderful time and will be back for classes in the future! The space was beautiful and clean. It was such a refreshing way to end a week and we got a good workout! I would highly recommend Flight Room to others interested in hosting a private event/party.

Edit: I’ve decided to reconsider my rushed review based on the response I got from the studio about my situation and my objective opinion on it!

As I am closing in on my first month here and have had classes with over three different instructors I want to say that they all did amazing at teaching fun, appropriately challenging beginner level classes!

I like that the studio has soft floors and no need to carry a mat. Every time the hammocks have smelled of being washed and that is very relieving especially at this pandemic time.

My wish would be if the studio had better ventilation, temperature/humidity control. It’s a bit too hot and humid now in the summer.

I am considering continuing for another month.

Old review:

I have been to four or five amazing classes the past month. I submitted all their required checks for vaccination and everything. Attended class previously without a mask because of this. I show up today 20 minutes early to class today and they are telling me I have to wear a mask if I don’t show them a picture of the record right there and then. They have no masks available on premises. I was eventually able to find a picture of my vaccination record but after this whole misunderstanding I felt too livid to attend a yoga class. They need to sort out their stuff if they want people to take them seriously…

Great owner(Jen), instructors, classes and community. The variety and level of classes make it accessible to anyone. They have consistently stayed relevant and engaged during the Covid-19 crisis. You can take virtual mat classes or even purchase an aerial rig through them which they often have great deals on.

First, the instructor (Theresa) was spectacular! It was myself and three friends for our first-ever aerial yoga class (is that what it's called?) The space is clean, inviting and relaxing. Theresa's energy, enthusiasm and guidance was top-notch; the perfect balance of having you feel comfortable and safe, while still laughing and playing as you swing from these fabric things. We were promptly welcomed and felt very cared for.

However, the reason for a "good" rating (instead of epic), is that I left behind a shirt, and I realized it after the class. There was no phone number to call the studio, just email and a number to text (this is not customer-centric in my opinion). Further, I didn't receive a text back until half way through the next day - when I did, it was something like "our lost and founds box is full of stuff, come back and look if its here". Frankly, the shirt cost more than a membership, so what would've made a difference for me was a more considerate, thoughtful and supportive response. Having that person text/call the on-site instructor to confirm if it was there would've put my mind at ease big time. Otherwise, I needed (and did), drive all the way across town to check if it was there. Luckily, it was! Woohoo! But it was just a poor experience for me.

The instructor for this class was amazing. I wish I could remember her name. She was fun, I felt relaxed listening to her voice and instructions and most of all safe. I didn’t feel pressured to go into a pose quickly or hold any pose longer than I was comfortable. It was still a challenge and I got a great workout!

I had a barre membership here last year and loved it. But after taking the summer off and coming back, I was disappointed that they only offer aerial classes. They don’t offer any early morning classes anymore either, and I tried the aerial class and due to the technicality and feeling nauseous upside down, I didn’t get the workout I was hoping for. It was so nice to finally have good workout classes in the CD but I won’t be renewing this winter. I miss the old classes!

Beautiful studio for aerials and yoga. The entire floor of the studio is squishy yoga mat material and the silks are adjustable and attached to bolts in the ceiling. The classes are candle lit with incense and there are twinkle lights on the ceiling. At first I thought it sounded fru fru, but it was amazing. The soft lighting and nice smells created a relaxing environment for a great workout.

I've been going to Levitas for nearly a year now. Their (relatively) new location in Belltown is terrific, with good privacy for classes and padded flooring.

When you come in, you can remove your shoes and tuck them away. Then, you'll get a hot towel to wash and refresh your feet before entering the studio. After selecting a hammock, the instructor will help adjust it to your height. Water is available, and there are cubbies to tuck away your belongings during class.

The instructors are friendly and generally good at guiding you into poses and inversions. The classes are generally body positive and HAES friendly. Adjustments are offered to allow participants to progress at their own pace or readiness, and there's a variety of class types offered to suit whatever you hope to achieve.

After finishing a session, I'm ready to take on the next challenge, refreshed and revitalized.
