After taking several FlowBarre classes with Liz Hake and Savannah Lynn over the past month, I feel vibrant and toned. These 50 minute classes consist of focused 360-degree core moves. Cues are precise. Props are fully explained. The instructors take care to ensure that you have perform each movement safely while also providing tips for high-intensity options. And their focus on compound moves that benefit smaller muscles is so beneficial to our overall strenght and endurance.

This gym has been the perfect fit for my lifestyle. I really appreciate the excellent variety and selection of classes offered. The flexible evening hours are ideal for if you a have full-time work schedule—I can consistently make it to classes without the stress of rushing out of work early.

The atmosphere here is very welcoming and supportive. The instructors are all so friendly and really help to build that positive, community feel. I also want to mention the front desk staff, who are always cheerful and super helpful.

I've been a member of Flow Fitness for over 2 years. I joined initially because I had chronic lower back pain, and I wanted to make a change. 2 years later, I am pain free, but what I didn't expect is to find the most neighborly and friendly gym I've ever belonged to. Over the years I've made close friends here, and I can't ever imagining leaving. The best gym culture ever.

I joined Flow in June and was very intimidated to join (it was my first time going to a gym). But everyone here has been so friendly and welcoming! The people at the front desk are very helpful and friendly, and every instructor I have had has been very approachable and willing to adapt exercises as needed (specifically Chey in cycling and Liz in barre!). While their exercise equipment selection is not as widespread as commercial gyms, the classes offered at the gym and welcoming atmosphere make up for it.

This is easily the best gym I’ve ever been a member of. The classes are so fun and challenging and every instructor I’ve had has been so motivating and supportive. I’ve never felt out of place or uncomfortable here like I have in other classes and gyms so I really appreciate how inclusive it is. I’ve been working out consistently trying to get healthier for the last 3 years after an injury but I didn’t get very good results. I only joined Flow last October and have lost over 30lbs since that time. I really do feel like it was the atmosphere that made me keep coming back. Thanks Flow!!

I love this gym!! I have been going to Flow Fitness in Fremont for a few months now, and I have nothing but good things to say. I signed up as a total beginner in the gym, and the staff and other members have been so kind and welcoming. The gym itself is clean and has a variety of equipment to use, but the real star of the show is their classes. I regularly attend barre and cycling classes throughout the week and they have been such a great addition to my fitness journey! The instructors are incredibly helpful and encouraging and make the classes so fun!

Adding on to my previous review- they recently got more gym equipment to include more machines in addition to the usual free weights. And they replaced all the pedals on the spin bikes so I’m even happier here than I was originally!

I love the Fremont location and have been a member for almost a year. I have taken cycling and barre classes, and I’ve had great experiences in each. The instructors are all great at motivating and guiding you through the workouts. I usually do evening classes and early morning lifting. In the morning, the gym is wide open and there is plenty of equipment available. I have not lifted in the evening, but even during peak hours I’ve noticed that people are able to make space and aren’t waiting on equipment often. The locker rooms and the rest of the facility is always clean. I also love that they do engaging activities with members and non-members, such as fundraising events, opening classes to non-members, challenges for prizes, and more.

I love that I can walk to Flow Fitness Fremont from my house! The staff are super friendly and helpful. And I LOVE the FIT classes with Alicia! She is fun, encouraging and makes strength training less intimidating! I also love barre classes with Sydney! The only downside is that the late/cancel fee has jumped dramatically! This makes it difficult for me to sign up for classes ahead of time in case I have a migraine flare up, get sick, etc. So, I'm definitely taking fewer classes than I used to.

I was a member for a while but canceled due to moving. I just moved back to the area and wanted to restart my membership. However I noticed there’s a huge price increase…strong membership used to include 12 classes a month but now only 4 classes…even pro membership @ $125 only includes 8 classes…this is a huge price hike for just 1 year? I get that things are more expensive now and price increases are expected, but this is outrageous to me…

Not the gym for you if you ever have to work late, get sick, or have any other thing unexpectedly come up. If so, expect a $25 late charge.

I started going to flow fitness a couple of weeks ago and I’m loving it! My first class was cycling, because I wanted to dust off my cycling shoes, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. Erin is a fantastic instructor, and I had a blast in her Bad Bunny vs. Karol G class. The class was high energy and it incorporated an arms workout and some challenging upper-body movements on the bike…which I loved!!! Thinking on trying their barre class next. Overall the gym was very clean, neat, the front desk staff was super attentive and made it easy to stay connected with them.

Flow strikes the perfect balance: it’s clean, well-equipped, and filled with people who are serious about their training—but without any of the intimidation I've felt in other gyms as a beginner. No matter your experience level, it’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcomed and motivated to keep showing up.

Classes are a big plus. My wife recently took the cycling class with Erin and had nothing but great things to say about it, so that’s next on my list!

★ 1

I have been a member of Flow Fitness for years, and it was once a truly great gym: clean, welcoming, and full of energy. It still has some excellent instructors and a few strong class offerings, and the facilities remain spotless and rarely crowded, especially as attendance has noticeably declined. However, it’s clear that things have gone downhill, and the new ownership seems to be accelerating that decline with questionable decisions.

Previously, the gym had a great 4-hour class cancellation policy, which the previous ownership later extended to 12 hours to help manage the long waitlists for popular classes. At the time, this made sense and was totally reasonable: most classes were full, and there was a real need to ensure spots didn’t go unused. The late cancellation fee was $5, a fair amount that encouraged commitment without feeling punitive.

Since the gym was sold, the new owner’s first major change has been to dramatically increase these fees.

Now, cancelling within 12 hours of a class costs $15, and cancelling within 2 hours costs $25. If you wake up sick, have a family emergency, get stuck at work, or run into traffic, you’re now facing charges that are three to five times higher than before. This isn’t about serving members or solving any real problem...most classes are no longer full, and waitlists are rare. Instead, it feels like a predatory cash grab at the expense of loyal members.

What’s most disappointing is how far the gym has drifted from its original, community-focused spirit. In the past, Flow Fitness was known for its fundraisers, community events, and even offering free memberships to those in need. The instructors brought energy and created a sense of belonging that encouraged everyone, regardless of experience or fitness level, to participate. Sadly, that feeling has been eroding as instructors leave and the new ownership prioritizes profit over people.

Flow Fitness still has some bright spots, but the overall direction is troubling. The new policies don’t address any real issues and only serve to alienate the very members who made the gym special in the first place. Recommend looking elsewhere, as I soon will be, for your fitness needs.

Edit following owners response:

Thank you for your response. I appreciate the engagement and efforts toward transparency. In that spirit, I want to address the claim that “many classes are booked to capacity + waitlist”. The reality, based on current class registration, appears quite different.

Here’s a snapshot of actual class registration numbers for today and tomorrow, by timeslot (#registered/total slots):

Thursday:
Noon: 2/16
4:30pm: 7/23
5:30pm: 6/30, 14/23, 5/16 (three separate classes)
6:15pm: 4/25
6:30pm: 8/25

Friday:
6:15am: 8/16
7:00am: 9/23, 1/10 (two classes)
8:15am: 4/23
12:00pm: 3/25
4:30pm: cancelled, 8/16 (two scheduled, one cancelled)
4:45pm: 9/30
5:30pm: cancelled

Across 16 classes, the average class is less than 30% full, with zero classes fully booked and zero running a waitlist. Looking ahead over the next four days, there is only one class that is fully booked with a waitlist.

Rather than analyzing what makes that class so successful, the chosen solution has been to raise late cancellation fees by 3-5x.

Again, this policy doesn’t solve a real problem; it penalizes members at a time when there is no shortage of available spots. Even if no-shows are rising, perhaps that points to an issue with the gym experience deserving of attention.

Ultimately, the fee increase appears less about improving access and more about generating additional revenue. When the initial shift to a 12-hour window was made, it added appropriate accountability for members, but the gym (under previous ownership) also added more class slots to increase coverage.

Perhaps it would be useful to solicit feedback directly from members to identify solutions. From my understanding, even instructors have only met new ownership once. Engaging with those who run classes and frequent the facility before raising charges up to 5x might be worthwhile.

i had such a great experience at Flow Fitness! The gym is super clean and well taken care of, and the cycle class i took was amazing. Erin, the instructor, was so sweet, she took the time to explain everything since it was my first time, and made sure i was all set before class started. The class itself was really fun, motivating, music was perfect and matched the pace for the effort required, and the leaderboard added a fun competitive vibe that kept me going

i loved the little details too: free cycling shoes, cold towels after class, super clean bathrooms, easy online booking, and even free parking right next to the gym. Everything was super smooth and well organized. I was also impressed by the variety of equipment, i'm looking forward to using that and also looking forward to my next class :)

Updating my review from 4 years ago:

Zero Stars.

Flow was a great gym and recently got bough out by a tech bro. They have a 12 hour late cancellation policy of $5 totally reasonable. Next week the cancellation policy is going to $15 for 12 hours or less and $25 for 2 hours or less. I am so very truly disappointed. I have been a member since they opened. I saw them as a community oriented and community geared gym. Which offered free memberships during the pandemic to unemployed people. Now I just see them as another scammy money hungry company. The vibe is gone, stay away!

Flow is an all around great gym with wonderful classes and a strong sense of community. The employees are all really nice and the management is really responsive and will work with you when you have membership questions, or if you need to pause or cancel. They are respectful and generous

I love this gym! It’s clean, and the environment is super welcoming. I’m relatively new to the fitness work and decided to get a membership to try cycling and after a few classes I’m already obsessed. I was nervous going into it and felt like a fish out of water, but the instructors have all been sweet, engaging, and everyone has been so helpful when it comes to learning how to get started. It was also a sign of relief to look around in class and see everyone at different levels knowing I wouldn’t be judged for starting out at my own slower pace. Plus, they offer a lot of amenities included that other gyms I’ve tried don’t have (like clip-in bike shoes, chalk, towels everywhere, etc). I’m so glad I decided to choose Flow Fitness.

Great Gym! Love that it’s open early and not to busy.
Friendly staff, clean , great selection of equipment.
Update! Recently gym has not been open early morning due to minimal amounts of ice or snow.
And there is not always notification. So it’s frustrating when you get there and it’s closed. And you look across the street to Anytime fitness and see people working out.
It’s winter for many more weeks, so I may need to consider dropping Flow for Anytime Fitness. I just want to get what I paid for.

I’ve been going to Flow’s Fremont location for about 6 months now and love it. I chose flow because of the wide range of classes they offer and haven’t been disappointed. My favorite classes are high fitness, werq, barre, and power yoga. The instructors are all great and I’ve found it to be a very non-intimidating environment to try out different classes for the first time. My only request would be more dance fitness classes and mid-day classes at the Fremont location (SLU is also included in my membership and has more of those, it’s just easier to go to Fremont since it’s more convenient for me).

Please end your predatory dark pattern of requiring more than 30 days of notice to end the gym membership. It’s such a slap in the face to be a paying customer for over a year, provide adequate notice before the end of the billing cycle, and then find out that I’m going to be charged for an entire extra month.

Edit: the business did reach out about my feedback and refund me, so I adjusted the review to reflect that I had a good experience attending this gym and a bad one leaving it. Remember that the purpose of this policy is they hope you forget about it so that they’re *allowed* to charge you for an extra month.

Unfortunately they recently cut yoga sculpt which was my favorite class, so I’m now looking elsewhere to get my yoga fix. The power yoga classes here are nice, but at a lower intensity you would find at a yoga studio.

I've explored several gyms in the Seattle area, and Flow is undoubtedly my favorite. They offer excellent classes at a fair price. I love both Seattle locations of Flow Fitness! I signed up for the 30 days for $30. I attended 12 days that first month and have now joined. I have attended over 14 classes with 7 different instructors. Every instructor is AWESOME!

I needed low-impact variations, and every instructor was right on top of providing variations throughout the class, so I didn't have to bother with the flow of the class to get the workout that fits my body.

Plus, both gyms are super clean - and not stinky! Yay for that. I highly recommend Flow Fitness clean, great instructors and super friendly front desk staff - what else do you need?

I've been a member of this gym for just over one month--I was hooked after my first spin class in SLU with Lindsay (she's a beast!). I signed up for the awesome deal they had: 30 days for $30. I love they have two locations; one in Fremont and another in SLU. I work in SLU so that location is convenient when I want to get a workout in before or right after work, while the Fremont location is closer to my home in Ballard.

Both locations are great--the staff members are always friendly, as well as the instructors (who are ALL super motivating!). I love that they offer a wide variety of classes, which is honestly why I decided one week in that I wanted to continue going after my 30 days were over. I tried the Fit3D scan (available in SLU) about a week into my trial month period for a baseline read, and then tried a second time this week for comparison. I'm down 1% body fat and 2 pounds--totally attributed to the amazing classes that keep me motivated to get my butt to the gym. Try them out! You won't regret it--only that you didn't start sooner! :)

I've been coming to Flow Fitness in Fremont for about two months. I really enjoy the variety of classes offered and every instructor has been phenomenal. There have been some fun, optional challenges for those who thrive on competition, and I love that the challenges encourage members to try new things instead of staying in the dreaded comfort zone (guilty!). My monthly membership includes 12 classes, e.g. barre, yoga, cycle, dance fitness, strength training, etc., along with unlimited gym access at their two locations, all for about $100 a month - aka the cost of a pair of jeans, maybe less! Their pricing is transparent and in my opinion, Flow is a much better value than the boutique studios I used to pay for. I went to the Wallingford Orangetheory for two years before finding Flow, and while it's also a great workout, Flow gives me the variety that I had been missing! Parking can be tight but they have an overflow lot to use when the closer lot is full. I highly recommended trying out the 30 day intro to see if it works for you.

I was super impressed by the price transparency on the website, as well as the tour with Axel(I think that was their name). During the tour, they were very body neutral and didn’t try to push any losing weight or anything on me (I’m quite overweight) but listened to my goals about getting stronger and the kinds of classes I wanted to take. I especially appreciated that when they talked about the fitscan machine, it was also very body neutral, they said something like it will analyze your numbers and tell you if you are getting smaller or bigger in the areas you want to get smaller or bigger in. I thought this was a great, inclusive way to talk about it. As an overweight person, going to the gym for the first time since you were more fit can feel really scary, but it just felt welcoming. Looking forward to starting classes!

Flow fitness is a fine facility in Fremont. The staff are always friendly.

Unfortunately, the Fremont location does not have all the amenities I’d expect for $90 a month membership. No Sauna, steam room, or weight machines.

If you are looking for better value, 24 fitness is right across the street, and Fremont Health Club has similar equipment, plus weight machines and a Sauna.

Consistently great classes run by enthusiastic and helpful class leaders, well taken care of facilities, and a nice variety of classes to choose from + a free use gym area. I feel like I get the fair value from what the money I pay monthly here.

Really enjoyed my class but didn’t like that they had a joke talking about prison lightly on their joke board. As someone who has had family members in prison I found it offensive. This is not a topic people should take lightly. Didn’t make me feel welcome in the space.

I've been a member of Flow Fitness for the past five years, and I really appreciate this gym! The staff and other members are very friendly, and I like the variety of well-taught classes with inspiring instructors. Right now I'm an especially big fan of the barre classes. Though each instructor has a unique style, every class I've taken is at a challenging level with helpful feedback, high energy from the instructor, and good music.

Poor front desk customer service experience.
*Will update accordingly if/when I recieve a response to my email.

In regards to owners response-
I'm saddened as my initial email response from him, seemed my experience had been taken seriously and was apologetic to the inexcusable customer service I had recieved. As I stated I intended to update this after I had recieved a response. (I even admitted fault to having the wrong class time. But the way it was handled quite honestly went beyond being late.) To which, following the initial response I have gotten multiple excuses now to the unexcusable customer service I received, from short staffing to now a form of victim blaming, stating it was my fault that they assumed i knew i was so late. However when i approached the front desk i stated "in here for the 5:45 spin class" and they response i recieved was "oh well, our policy is you have to be 5 minutes early or your too late" i again even mentioned I'm only 1 min late now for that rule and I got a shoulder shrug and a "that's how it is, you can like work out if you want " so where was the assumption i knew class was at 5:30 and not 5:45? I was clear. And HAD I KNOWN like i stated in my response email to the owner, i would have apologized right of the bat and never expected or even asked for entry. Taking responsibility goes a long way, as I did for having the wrong time in my email response to the owner. But he chose to only highlight my mistake (that i owned) in his response on here and conveniently leaving out the way his staff then handled the situation which was the poor customer service and being treated with condicending disrespect instead. Also was followed up in his email, with a pitch that I needed to change my review on here.
My experience made me feel like I was not welcomed or belonged at this gym or class. I have worked at a spin studio and this is not how you want to make anyone feel.
Not once was it mentioned class was at 5:30 or I was "16 mins late" (to which I was only 10 min based on the posted class time fyi) infact only stating that I should have been 5 mins early and no disagreement or correction when I said I'm here for the 5:45 or when saying i was only being a min late to the 5 min before rule. I was calm during my entire interaction with the staff, just struck with disbelief and confusion for the treatment I recieved.

A simple sorry and acknowledgment of my experience at your establishment, by your employees, without an excuse blaming others would have solved this and resulted in a deletion of my rating. But instead that is not what I recieved and don't appreciate blame being soley put on me for the response and treatment irecieved from your staff over a simple misunderstanding, that appropriate communication would have quickly solved.

I LOVE Flow Fitness. I recently moved to Seattle from Colorado and was looking for some community. I found it right away at Flow. The 30-day trial period had me hooked within the first week. The teachers are awesome, especially Catherine (spin), Bleu (conditioning), Alicia (spin) and Meredith (spin). Front desk staff is friendly, the locker rooms and facilities are fantastic, and the whole vibe is just really welcoming.

Flow is exactly what a community gym should be! I love the trainers and instructors - they’re all committed to making sure members have a challenging workout and a top notch experience. I joined pretty recently and started a personal training membership. I already am seeing results in my fitness and energy levels. I’m so glad I joined!

This is one of the best gyms that I've ever been a member of after living both here in Seattle as well as San Francisco. If you're looking for a neighborhood gym that is of top quality, this is it! What has really impressed me is how they've also done a tremendous job of keeping the gym safe and clean particularly during this Covid Time period. I can imagine there are a lot of reluctant people deciding whether or not to head to the gym, trust me, I was one of those people. But with the workout reservations and the number of people allowed in the gym at any given point in time, the safety measures have eased my concerns. Great Job to the Flow Fitness team!

I have been going here for three years. Being an Amazonian the convinence of this gym is what reeled me in, but it's the quality and people that has kept me. I have used personal training predominantly paired with the many classes and a little open gym. It works!

As for COVID, they have two locations and typically I am one of three people or less in the gym. A ton of squat racks, free weights, machine and good cardio variety - treadmill, row, skis, bikes, elipticals, stairs, and sprinting curved machine

I LOVE Flow Fitness. As a former professional runner for Nike, it is the gym I would have designed for myself! I love having classes that are of the quality of a boutique studio AND a gym that is like a NCAA Division 1 weight room all at one place. The team conditioning workouts are solid. This is coming from someone who has 10+ years experience on the world stage. Also, the team conditioning classes are non-intimidating to beginners but are also challenging to experienced gym-goers. Lastly, the culture is right. All members are down to work, positive, and motivating to other members, particularly in the classes.

Flow fitness Fremont is a great facility! I was a little skeptical when I walked in and it was in the basement (I loathe low ceilings when working out), but the gym is extremely spacious with like 15 foot ceilings. Plenty airy. I took a strength conditioning class through class pass. I believe the instructors name was Christian. There were only 4 of us in the gym for the 930AM Monday class, and the gym was pretty much empty otherwise. They do only have 3 parking spaces during normal work day hours, but theres about 8 more before 8am and after 530pm or son as well as on weekends. The gym has a very brand new feel, and Christian did a great job leading us through the class routine. Easy format to follow, and moves along quickly. All in all, I really like this place and will inquire about a membership (as all classes are included)!

Where to begin....

Flow Fitness is the premier Strength and Conditioning facility in Seattle, hands down. Not only do they have the latest, up to date equipment (including Keiser machines, Trueform Runners, Prowlers, and more), they also have a knowledgable staff who are experts at what they do.

Did I mention they have classes too? Yoga, Pilates and even an amazing spin studio (if you haven't seen it yet, you must check it out). Plus a turf with every kettlebell you can imagine as well as Airdyne bikes, Rowers and a Ski Erg.

The hours are amazing, theres parking available mornings and evenings, and its easy to access from anywhere in Fremont. If you want to pop out to the Burke Gilman trail for a short walk after your workout, it's right across the street.

Flow Fitness is what Seattle has needed for so long. This isn't your commercial, globo gym. If you're serious about your training/workouts and want results, this is the place to go.

Oh yeah - they have towel service, lockers with built in locks, showers, and a lounge area. Shall I go on?

Step your game up. Leave the mediocre gym where you're getting mediocre results surrounded by mediocre people. You owe it to yourself.

LOVE this place. I almost don't want other people to know about it because I love how empty and quiet it gets on weekends. So much equipment and space - lots of variety. You won't find equipment like they have here at your LA Fitness. However, if you're looking to waste 30 minutes on an elliptical, this isn't the right gym for you. Locker rooms are A+

This gym is the second Flow Fitness I've been to (check out their location downtown, it's great!) and I have to say, it is freaking legendary. Ownership and management really stepped it up with this second facility. As someone who hasn't stood in front of a mirror and done boring ol' bicep curls since high school, I've been on that ninja-fit game: throwing sandbags around, climbing ropes, and doing handstands anywhere I can find a square patch of land. Well I say that to say this: Flow Fremont is a ninja's paradise! No boring physical-therapy-like machines laying around this place, just open space, free weights, sandbags, ropes hanging from the ceiling, kettlebells, a sled, the list goes on... This place is a temple to functional training and using the body the way it was built to be used. I love going at night and having the place to myself. Dakota and Sarah behind the front desk are amazing individuals; Brian the manager is sharp and continually makes improvements to the place; Mack and Drew are excellent trainers who really taught me a lot while I was a member. This place will throw you a beer on a random social Friday happy hour night! Howboutthat. I loved this gym with all my heart and wish there was an option like it in my new home. #GetInTheFlow!

The Fremont location of this gym is just as nice as the SLU location, with a lot more focus on conditioning and free weight training.

I especially like the small group strength training and conditioning classes. The instructors' focus on your form makes it seem like a personal training class. They always motivate you and the routine changes often enough so you never get bored.

The equipment is well stocked, the showers and locker room are clean, and the staff are super friendly- everything I'd like in a gym!
