Amazing team of coaches who provide a very conducive atmosphere to learn. Their patience, flexibility and understanding (just to mention a few) makes Forward Fitness feel like home.
The exclusive one on one classes and daily classes are just the bomb with a lot of flexibility.
I have learnt a lot from the coaches led by my one on one Coach Jen and the whole crew but just to mention a few Coach Gunnar, Coach Malcom, Coach Luke.

I love Forward! I have been a member for years and they have always been kind and welcoming. I recommend them for people who want to just show up to class and have a programmed (but modifiable) workout with a coach that can help you with your form. All of the other members are kind and encouraging. No need to feel intimidated. I love kettle bell workouts now because of Forward!

I am currently doing a 6 week challenge at the Lab. It’s been enjoyable and very motivating. The trainers are very helpful and patient and will accommodate all fitness levels. 11/25/24 I have just completed the Fit for Fall Challenge. I returned to Forward in July of this year. This time I was introduced to Coach Malcolm. The months I have spent at Forward have been the best investment to my health and fitness! Coach Malcom is the best trainer because he’s knowledgeable in women’s health, specifically for 50+. Thank you Malcom for keeping me accountable and checking in weekly for my nutrition and workouts. I come here 3 times a week & the classes are fun and challenging. Pushing myself to try kettlebell workouts again and paying attention to technique and form has helped immensely! My relationship with food and nutrition has also improved significantly—learning not to diet but to make realistic changes by eating whole foods. So I saw the advertisements regarding an eight-week program for the 50+ crowd with Forward Fitness ... after I wrapped my mind around the fact that I'm in my mid-50s (LOL) I have been considering some type of program to give me the jumpstart, boost, and accountability I needed to get back on the track for taking care of myself so that I can continue to take care of others. My wife (thanks dear) gave me the green light and encouragement that what did I have to lose by giving this a shot so I did. From the moment I queried Luke for the information and set up the appointment to come see what the program was all about, I knew it was the right choice. Sometimes you simply need a push in the right direction to get going again. Luke and I discussed my goals, what I hoped to achieve, and what I was looking for, and based on a weight/body scan assessment and his experience in the field of fitness, we came up with a plan. He set me up to work with Coach Malcolm who also is very knowledgeable and encouraging ... all the coaches at Forward have tips, ideas, suggestions, and information to willingly share and that's a great encouraging environment to find oneself in when moving in a new, right direction. They've got one-on-one coaching, small group training, group classes ... you can even go solo. Well, after my program was complete there was an offering to continue along the same path or even a tailored type of program, but following this push, back in the right direction and armed with a few new tools and tips I'm back to feeling better about my health and the direction I'm headed, as well as empowered and reminded that I can do this ... even in my mid-50s. If you find yourself in a similar situation or needing some encouragement toward a healthy exercise regime, menu ideas, better nutrition, and a community to do all of this in, you would do well to get on over to Forward Fitness. I have been going to Forward for a year and a half, it was the first thing I joined after moving to Spokane from Seattle near the end of 2021. I have been a very active person my whole life and a member at various gyms, studios, etc. but found the most accountability in my early thirties by going to a bootcamp style class/personal training gym in Seattle so I looked for something similar near my new home in Spokane and stumbled across Forward. Forward is FAR superior to that gym (and mind you, I was happy there), in class model, coach knowledge, equipment, and more. I have learned so much technical skill while gaining strength. I genuinely look forward to going to the gym almost every day. It also gave me a community in a new city where I knew next to no one. Not only are the coaches great, but members are also friendly and encouraging. I now have lifelong friends both inside of the gym and out.

I have been going to Forward since September 15, 2022. I love it! The group classes are fun and energetic. The coaches are super knowledgeable and care about the folks they help. The other gym members are kind and welcoming. What sets Forward apart from other gyms is the training is so accessible. It is simple without being boring. It will push you, but not injure you. I joined Forward back in September looking to improve my physical health, strength and stamina. The coaches at this gym are helping me do that. Before coming to Forward I was scared of going to the gym because I would be starting from ground zero and was worried I would look weak. But once I got to Forward it was the most welcoming and fulfilling experience I could have asked for. I felt safe and encouraged. The coaches are absolutely the most positive and helpful people. I have never been one for class workouts, but my cousin talked me into joining a challenge with her at Forward. I was nervous walking in and not having a clue of what to expect but I am beyond happy I stepped out of my comfort zero. The coaches are amazing, helpful and teach you so much about form and explain it in ways that encourage you to do your best. Because of the people and classes Forward offers I make it my goal to get to the 5am class 4 days a week. This is the best gym atmosphere and I highly recommend Forward and all it stands for.

Ive worked out at many gyms in my life, and yes I’ve liked most of them, but at “Forward” I have gotten the best results and its absolutely my favorite gym ever. They provide many class times each day so it’s easy to make it to one of them. I know certain days we are working on strength/kettlebell and other days are geared more towards conditioning. Each class is well thought out and very structured. The trainers run each class and give a lot of instruction. They make sure each person has the right form and they always provide modification options.
I’ve been to gyms that have “personal trainers” and I don’t feel like they are teaching me anything I didn’t already know. It’s not like that here. At “Forward” I respect the knowledge of all the staff and love that they push us to be our best selves. It’s a great gym for all fitness levels.

Absolutely love this gym. The atmosphere gives you the ability to train to your personal capabilities with the guidance of professional, helpful, and knowledgeable trainers either in a group setting (definitely recommend attending group classes, the community is great) or in a one-on-one setting.

Forward Fitness is awesome, and their Conditioning and Strength classes gives you a full workout that truly leaves you with a sense of accomplishment. The classes are challenging for all levels, from beginner to competitive athlete and the coaches really know their stuff! I haven’t been a member for long but i know i’m not going anywhere! this is the first gym that i have looked forward to going to, and see progress! the owner is passionate about a positive and motivational culture, and you feel it when you walk in. as someone who is new to the gym, feeling welcome and encouraged is HUGE! the trainers are also amazing. i have taken classes with daniel and jason, and they both make sure you’re doing okay, and give you modifications if you’re not quite able to do the moves (yet!). i do 1-on-1 with daniel, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable about what he’s teaching and passionate about safe and proper lifting and fitness. i love it here!

If you are trying to understand and master the “big lifts” Derek is your guy no doubt!! First and for most not only is Forward a gym but they have become my family. Two years ago when I walked through the doors I was beyond scared. Little did I know that was the best decision I had ever made. Forward has become my safe place, a place where I can focus on me. A place I discovered I love lifting. I love Forward Fitness! I began my journey with Forward in January 2020, after attending a Kettlebell open house. I did a 6-week challenge with them and fell in love with lifting heavy weights. The coaches watch and correct your form to make sure you are safe and lifting efficiently. They are happy to demonstrate moves and techniques when lifting, swinging and using equipment that is new to the client.
The community at Forward is encouraging, helpful, and strong. I have made some incredible friends, which also helps with accountability! Whether I am hitting the gym early to attend class, going to a one-on-one training session, or showing up to rock an evening Kettlebell shred small group, Forward is one of my favorite places to be!

I was seriously confused and scared when it came to the gym before I joined Forward Fitness. I decided to give this gym one chance before I vowed to never set foot in a gym again. The coaches met me where I was at and helped me grow my fitness significantly in a short period of time. I learned that I was stronger than I thought. It took less time to exercise during the week because I just had show-up and do the workout (that these coaches work so hard to write every day) instead of guessing and figuring it out on my own. And I appreciate that I am known and seen as a capable woman who can lift heavy weights. Forward Fitness is the one thing that kept me sane during the pandemic!!! They made virtual workouts available (both live and recorded), let us check out equipment when they were closed during phase 1, and you can tell safety and cleanliness are high priorities at all times. This gym has become the place that I didn’t know I needed. Since joining in April 2019 I have lost 14.8% body fat. After starting small group training with Katie in June, I have lost an additional 8.9% body fat, plus lost 31 mm in body mass and 18.5 inches.

My experience here has been extremely rewarding and I cannot recommend them highly enough. When I decided to join this gym, just over 2 years ago, I was unhealthy, overweight, and unhappy. I signed up at the Lab in the fall of 2019 for a 6-week challenge. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Luke and his team of coaches are amazing! Covid put a damper on things, but I can't wait to get back to the routine of classes and see the coaches again!! Best gym in Spokane 😊

Forward is GREAT!!! The coaches are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The workouts are not only fun, but challenging to any level of fitness. The coaches make sure each member is working out to their potential by scaling the workout up or down to any level. For years, I was unable to workout for more than 3 days in a week without injuring myself. Since I've been at Forward, I work out 5 days a week and am stronger than ever!

I have been going to this gym for a little over a year now. I am terrible at keeping a schedule and holding myself accountable but they are great at doing it for me! They regularly reach out and see how I'm doing and whenever I am there I couldn't feel more welcome.

I've found great support. Thought I was joining just to get into a little better shape. Forward fitness has helped me gain all the right things and lose the correct ones. The I've gained muscle, have much more confidence in myself with working out, and have lost some weight while I'm at it. The coach's are supportive and honest, even if you have a million and one questions.

Forward gym is exactly what is says on its logo: Fitness.Strength.Life. I have never attended a gym quite like Forward. The coaches are amazing and helpful and teach you so much about form and explain it in ways that encourage you to do your best. The members are kind and encouraging. We're a family really. Forward Fitness has been by far my best gym experience. I started as a member at the end of 2019. I absolutely love the small class style of the workouts. I like the support I receive from other members and the coaches. The coaches are all professional and so helpful making sure everyone is able to do the movements without injury providing modifications as needed. When the gym was shut down during 2020, the coaches provided online workouts for us. Now now that it’s open again the cleaning/mask protocol makes me feel very safe. I would highly recommend Forward Fitness.

My friend recommended I try this gym YEARS ago and, after now spending three weeks there, I am mad that I didn't go sooner! I love it here! The coaches are friendly and knowledgeable (shout out to Jen and Derek!), the classes are easy to get in to and the atmosphere is amazing. There are big box gyms, fitness studios, and then Forward Fitness. It absolutely dominates my needs for a fitness location in many ways. The community is strong and I’ve not felt more welcome any other time in my life. Everyone is fast friends, and the support is unending.
The results are unparalleled, I’ve worked out in more than one fitness studio, always achieving the same level of success, but while at forward my plateaus don’t exist yet. My progress and body composition far exceeds my previous gyms abilities.
The workouts are wide in variety, never stale and always challenging.
Also very important, this is a true local business. The owner is there every single day. It isn’t a part of a larger franchise, the crew that is there, is local, the programming is local, it’s a true home town gym. Very important to support local.

The Lab is clean, professional, and the staff is very knowledgeable. As a strength and conditioning professional I look for gems, like the Lab, to train at while traveling and I couldn’t be happier with this location. Great environment and amazing staff! I did the 6 week challenge and I'm super excited for my health lifestyle changes. Did the challenge with a starting weight 245.6 and finished at 217.2. I have been very impressed with the owner and his staff. They are all very professional and incredibly motivating. Marcela is a fantastic trainer who is helpful and pushes you to work as hard as you can. As a woman it can be uncomfortable walking into a gym but the lab makes you feel welcome. I definitely recommend the lab.

I love the Lab. I have been a member since November 2013. The coaches are great and knowledgeable. They never have you do anything your body won't allow and always have an alternative to a lift/movement if you need it. They take the time to make sure you are using correct form and push you to the max in every class. I have done a lot of working out in my life through college sports and the military and this is by far some of the best teaching I have ever encountered. The atmosphere is amazing too. Everyone helps push each other and motive one another to get the most out of each workout. I highly recommend The Lab to anyone.

I have been coming to The Lab for 6 months and still love it. When I first joined I was so out of shape and limited in movement and mobility that I struggled to find the motivation to start getting healthy. What I love about The Lab are the people - instructors and other members. Luke has more energy than my kids and is so excited about what he does. He and the other trainers are always willing to modify exercises and work with me as an individual within the group settings so I can progress at my own pace in a group atmosphere. The other members are so encouraging, friendly and treated me like a part of their community from the get go. From struggling to do daily activities to feeling great and being an active part of my family so much credit goes to The Lab, not just for the process, but the motivation and the comforting feeling I get when going for my workout. This place is much more than a gym, it's a second home.
