We are very happy with this swim school. Our daughter was nervous but wanted to learn how to swim and we chose here. She's been very happy with every instructor she's had and loves swimming. Very happy here.

Our experience with Goldfish has been great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The classes are very well organized and have a great student to instructor ratio. Our instructor Madison is great. She is very good with the kids. The Deck Supervisor, Zoey, has also been amazing. She took extra time to give my daughter 1 on 1 attention to get her comfortable with the water. Definatetly has gone above and beyond.

I’ve generally had a positive experience at Goldfish Swim School, but I’m disappointed with how shower access is being handled. My daughter is in the mini tot class. Recently, management told us that showers are first come, first served and cannot be reserved. While that may sound fair on the surface, in practice, it’s not working for the families with very young children.
The older kids, who can walk on their own, finish class closer to the showers and get there much faster. They also tend to take longer in the showers because their parents wait outside and don't encourage them to be quick. In contrast, the mini tot class is further away, and since those students need to be carried, it’s impossible for us to get to the showers quickly. This often results in my husband, myself, and our toddler waiting an extended period of time; which is much harder with a one year old than it is with a 6 or 7 year-old.
It feels like the needs of the youngest swimmers aren’t being considered. A better system is needed to ensure that families with toddlers have more reasonable access to the showers after lessons. For example, reserving at least one shower for the mini tot class, or giving those parents priority immediately after their lesson. Right now, the policy shows a complete lack of consideration for parents with babies.

Everything has been great with a few tweaks here and there. Staff is great and smiley and helpful!
So far our experience has been wonderful. Each staff member has been great, but I do wish to recognize (green shirt) Nicole. She spent a good amount of time with my little one when she was having an especially difficult time. Her patience was amazing to watch. Thank you!

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Goldfish Swim School, and I want to especially highlight Sophia. She has been absolutely amazing for our son, Parker. He has grown so much as a swimmer during his time with her, and more importantly, his confidence in the water has really blossomed.
As a pediatric therapy clinic owner, I know how rare it is to find team members who are not only skilled but also patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in kids. Sophia embodies all of that. She meets kids right where they’re at, helps them feel successful, and creates such a positive learning environment.
We are so grateful for the difference she has made for our family. Goldfish is lucky to have Sophia on their team!

Both my kiddos are currently enrolled in the jumpstart swim program. Tomorrow will be day 4! They are having a wonderful time and learning and advancing quickly. I am super impressed. The instructors seem very knowledgeable and fabulous with the kiddos. Lessons are too short. Four stars because, for such an expensive program (comparatively to other swim classes nearby), they should give at the least the full half hour. Three days we have been coming for the 9 to 9:30 session. They open the pool deck between 9 and 9:05. Today was 9:02. Then we walk our kiddos to their lanes and they sit and chat with the instructor a bit. Neither of my kids were in the water until about 3 to 5 after. Then, they end the lesson at 25 after. It's not 30 minutes of learning. It's 20 to 25. That's literally my only complaint. Should schedule these lessons for 40 minutes if they are shaving off time on both ends. It's sort of false advertising to say they are 30 minutes long. Either way, we are having a good experience and still highly recommend!

First time trying out this place and it didn’t disappoint. My husband and I are big water people and we knew we had to introduce our little one to the water as soon as we were able to. Goldfish has been such a great service to introduce her to the water. She loves it and looks forward to coming once a week. Can’t wait to see her to continue doing classes.

Wanted my grandchild to have something to do for the summer, but now her learning how to swim and meeting new friends is exciting for her. The staff and instructors are so friendly they communicate with you on your child's progress. The experience my grandchild is receiving for her its fun but for me and her parents it's a life saving. Showing her how to swim, what to do for her to swim or paddle to a safe area whether it's a pool or a lake. She is just excited for her weekly visit. I recommend Goldfish Swim what they are doing for the kids is amazing they even teach the parents with their babies.
And the decor is so cute for the kids.

I would give them 10 stars ⭐️ if I could.
This place is wonderful. We have met a few instructors and they are all great but Aiden is the best!!!
Aileen has been going to swim lessons since she was 4 months old and absolutely loves the water. Aiden has been so patient, safe, sweet and caring to Aileen and all her classmates.
I love the environment, the treatment, the happy vibes… a few of my friends have joined after we told them about Aileen’s experience and their kids have been loving it.
Also super friendly front desk and great management!

The staff here were all incredibly nice but after 3 months my daughter made very little progress. At that point I would expect her to be able to atleast doggy paddle. We switched to private lessons at the Fife Aquatic Center and she’s learned more in one lesson than 3 weeks at goldfish. I especially like how Fife Aquatic center took the time to explain to her why she was learning things - like “this is a safety stroke, you do this if you’re ever in water that’s too deep”. They did not do that at Goldfish. 4 kids in a class for 30 minutes is about 7.5 minutes a class. 130 dollars for 18 minutes a month of instruction is a money pit. It cost nearly the same amount to do 120 minutes of private instruction. When I did the math it’s no wonder she didn’t learn. Like I said, staff was so friendly but this place knows how to keep the cash flow coming. They have the perfect business model for keeping people in the program - if they learned how to swim quickly they wouldn’t make as much money.

We have been coming here for 4 months with our 5 year old daughter. When we started she didn’t have a lot of self confidence in the pool. September 4th Update:
It's that time again. My kiddos all got to Pro 1 because of the amazing staff. We are temporarily putting a hold on goldfish but will be back in the next coming months. If you are still hesitating to come here...please don't. If you think of all that is provided...you will not be disappointed. We have been here since the beginning and so have most of all the staff. My kids and I felt like family, and they really made sure all my kids were comfortable and able to move on when able to. The facility is clean and they also provide a really cool family swim you can sign up with. If you are not a member you can still join that family time but do need to sign a waiver. Don't hesitate to come on by either and get a tour...there is no pressure on joining. Seeing my kids confident..especially my oldest (that's really afraid of water)...made me tear up and proud because he was finally able to get rid of a fear..and I know he's safe when he's older. Thank you guys so, so much!!!!
July 10th Update:
I've got two glider 3's now and a Pro 1. Staff are still absolutely incredible!!! And I still see a ton of the original staff from September as well. All have gone above and beyond..and are the sweetest. Thank you guys for all that you do. My oldest was terrified of water..and swimming on general..and he's gotten more confident because of you guys. <3

Well.. .I'm pretty really annoying saying this again..but we started here last September 2023 (when they first opened)..and my kids are going strong. I have my oldest and youngest in glider 2. And my middle in glider 3. All staff have been exceptional and have been absolutely the best on helping my kids succeed in swim. My oldest was very very scared of water..and now he is finally swimming!!!!! If anyone has a child like that...please come here. It may take time...but they are worth it. They feel like family here. I also still don't have to fight for a spot ever to get my children in. And if we miss class we still can make it up easily. I have gotten teary eyed with how wonderful they are. <3

UPDATE: THEY ARE STILL ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!
Beautiful place to get some swim lessons in. All the staff are friendly and absolutely love the bathrooms and changing areas! It is on the spendy side, but worth it since we don't have to scramble trying to get a certain time and day every 6 or 8 weeks. Though, I know we will have to do that once they graduate to a new level. Lol
Thank you guys so much, and the kids absolutely love going here each week! =]

My kid has been attending lessons at Goldfish since they opened and we couldn't be happier. My kid has progressed so much and is so excited for his lesson every week. We love that the lessons are consistent every time and that it is the same instructor every week. If they have a sub, which doesn't happen that often, we are always notified by email. The facilities are always clean and there are staff members regularly mopping up puddles so the floor is always dry. Water safety is a number one priority and the lifeguards are some of the most vigilant I've ever seen. All of the staff are just such wonderful, caring people and you can tell they truly love what they do and care about your kid. My daughter hated getting water in her face and so it made teaching her to swim SUPER complicated and we were not making progress with the local parks or Y lessons. We were just paying for lessons she refused to participate in. We finally got this Goldfish school in our area and it has been a LIFESAVER! She is learning and progressing greatly in her lessons, laughs off water in her face and looks forward to every week she has her swim classes. We also took advantage of their pool party for her most recent birthday and it was AMAZING! The staffing was kind and attentive, productive and kept the kids safe and having fun. I would highly recommend this school for lessons and their birthday party package for members, her friends raved about the party for weeks at school!

In the past, I took my kids to the Y for swimming lessons but the ratio of students to teachers was 6:1. My daughter took swimming lessons there for a year and didn’t learn anything. It’s just OK.
(All of my experience comes from the baby classes)
The class is taught by a different highschooler each class. It’s giving very much for franchise vibe .
We took our babies out and enrolled them at the Y for swimming class . It cost a little more money but it’s community based. Consistent and doesn’t feel as hectic .
Gonna miss the heated pool though 😂

My son is 2.5 and was REALLY struggling with lessons. He had a bad fear of the pool and water for some reason. We were trying everything we could and it still wasn't working. On one particularly bad lesson day (we were in for only 7-8 min of a 28 min lesson), one of the managers came to talk to us. She was so helpful and offered many suggestions, but the next couple of lessons didn't go well either. She never gave up and kept working with us and giving us suggestions. Just when we were about ready to say we'll try again when he's older, she recommended we should try to do open swim to get him comfortable. We brought a couple friends who also attend and spent some time during open swim getting him ok with the water in an unstructured and much quieter environment. By the end of open swim we could not get him out of the pool he was having so much fun! Lessons ever since have been a breeze and something he likes and looks forward to! She also helped us switch to the class his friend was in to help. The manager there was SO helpful, and I'm so grateful she continued to offer new suggestions and continued to help. Highly recommend Goldfish Swim School.

I'm going to go ahead and tell you why swimming lessons are 100% worth every penny and why I love this swimschool for my son.
My son Luke is 7 months old. We started our swim lessons here when he was 4 months old so about 3 months.
Today while I was giving him a bath in his little plastic tub he slipped under the water surface. I, of course panicked. He was all the way in the water face up under the surface looking at me. I screamed and hurried to get him above the surface.
While I was panicking and checking him over, he was totally calm and playing with the bubbles in the tub. Because of these classes he knew not to panic. He knew not to breathe in under the water and he knew that he would be fine.
Thanks to swimming lessons, my son is totally fine and not at all afraid of water.
Now I'm going to tell you why I love this particular school. I will admit it is a little pricey. However, my son's teacher Evelina always remembers him and makes a point to chat with us and Miss Jackie at the front always remembers us as well and always makes my son smile. Everyone here has been extremely kind and understanding and has always provided a helping hand when I need
Long story short, the swim class is here may have saved my son but definitely saved my sanity

I enrolled my 2-year-old and 10-year-old daughter for swimming lesson. We completed 4 sessions for them with no problem. We liked the place so much that we enrolled both of them again for another set of 4 lessons.
Since the lessons are pricey, we decided to stop their active enrollment so that we will not automatically be charged every month. During the second set of sessions, we had to skip 2 weeks because my kids got sick. We got 4 make-up class tokens because of this. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule again because i got sick. When I called the office, they are telling me that they are no longer allowing me to reschedule because my kids are no longer actively enrolled. I basically lost 4 make-up class tokens!!!! They told me, they can roll over those 4 make-up class tokens if i enroll them again to classes (8 sessions + 4 make-up classes).
I hope they are more considerate in their policy to families given that they are charging premium prices.

Great instructors and facilities! Reason for the three stars is simply due to the fact that their subscription or business model is not flexible when it comes to make up classes. For being a kid swim school I would have thought this would be baked into the program to keep parents coming back. The booking system they use seems to not have the latest account details and also auto charges without any notification.

We have had the most phenomenal experience with Goldfish Swim School in Puyallup! I didn't want to write a review until we had a couple of months under our belt but I can say, with confidence, that this swim school has provided the best experience that we've ever had with swim lessons. We have two children in two different swim levels/ classes. We were able to get both children accommodated with lessons on the same day (and even time!). There are so many class offerings that it made it super easy to schedule. We are also already seeing significant swimming improvements with both of our kiddos in just the two short months they have been here.
In terms of cleanliness (which is a very important thing for me), this facility is top notch. I always see staff walking around mopping or sweeping the floor so there isn't debris or potential slip hazards as littles leave the pool. The changing rooms and showers are spotless and I love that they provide high quality shower essentials so we don't have to pack them every week.
The best thing about Goldfish Puyallup, however, is their consistency. Every single week, I know what to expect - how my children will be called into their lesson, who their instructor will be, what lanes they will be swimming in, and what I can expect in a report at the end of each lesson. This structure is so helpful for my children and for me.
My expectations have been exceeded in every category with this swim school. We are definitely going to be long-term members!

Amazing! They finally opened and we took our son for his first swimming lesson. Sadly it’s only for 30 mins per session. I do wish they could make it 45 minutes. They book fast leaving no extra slots of new customers. Sundays seem to be the only un-wanted slot time/day. Once you reserve your child’s time and day, that will always be their slot until you cancel it. If someone does cancel and they picked a Saturday, you might get lucky to reserve that day for your kid. So check daily on their website! You pay monthly for 4 days a month (ours is every Saturday) for 30 mins = 2hrs for $139+tax for the month. Bring your own towels!! First time you arrive, they give you a nice gift bag and kids t-shirt and toy. They sell shorts/swimming outfits and goggles.
The place is new, so everything is basically brand new. They provide shower rooms and changing rooms. Very bright color scheme for the entire place that really shines and appealing for all ages of kids. They also have a clothes dryer (small but fast vibrating tumbler) and a hair/blow dryer table.
The staff here are super nice and knowledgeable, and if you are ever in doubt, always ask the front desk employees. Check out their website for all of your questions.

Goldfish swim school in Puyallup is awesome! In case you have other friends that may be interested I highly recommend it. We were greeted with a gift bag full of things you would actually care for and they are very organized and have a smooth check-in, punctual start and finish times; very well orchestrated team.
The pool perimeter is covered so kids don’t get scraped getting in and out of the heated indoor pool. There are underwater PVC stands that they keep under the children while training them to give them something to stand on if needed or to swim to in the lanes.
There is plenty of seating where you can clearly watch your child and be involved in their learning. They have clean shower area with brand shampoo/soap poolside and hairdry stations by the changing rooms that looks like a salon. They give feedback on how your kid is progressing at the end of each session. I was surprised to see how dry most of the facility was preventing slip and falls/bacterial growth and how well-kept/clean it is.
There are plenty of staff in each pool lane and guards around all areas of the pool. Even in the waiting and changing areas, there are friendly staff supervising to ensure safety as a priority. The fish tank in the front is cute and a nice touch! Totally underpriced. 🐡
