Love this location! It’s clean, spacious, and seldom gets super crowded. We usually go during peak time (weekday evenings) but I’ve never had to wait for a machine or had trouble finding parking. Price is reasonable compared to other premium gyms in the area.

Overall appreciate the gym but not the fact that many people use the sauna in their workout clothes and shoes. This seems acceptable to management although the practice is unhygienic. Management, please raise the bar by requiring showers before using the sauna just as you do for the swimming pool and spa.

Basing my review off of Golds cancellation practice. I initiated account closure in mid August by calling the gym and asking to cancel. They directed me to a website where I had to submit my email to request cancellation. I did this and received no response for a week. I repeated the process and again no response. So I went into the location where they directed me to the website where their link didn’t work so we sent the email again. This time their response was that due to a 30 day cancellation notice I will need to pay for the next month’s as well. Now it will have been a month and a half but they are still not acknowledging. I believe the cancellation process is intentionally vague and not compliant with the law for having an easily accessible cancellation.

Generally a good gym experience with clean facilities, friendly staff, machines readily available, and respectful people. Only feedback about general operations is a water fountain that has a water bottle filler.
As someone moving away from the area, I didn't appreciate the fees to cancel and the random charge in June that covers a 'maintenance fee.' I know what it takes to run a business, therefore I get it, however I think there is smarter ways to include all fees in the monthly membership to eliminate questions about the contract. Gold's Gym and LA Fitness both pull those shenanigans, which is the cost of business, but I think there's more transparent ways to operate. It's partly why I told myself I'd never go to LA Fitness again, I don't want to have to say the same if I ever live near a Gold's Gym again.

In my hometown there’s literally a brand new golds gym that isn’t as nice as this one. They keep the equipment in impeccable shape and the sauna is hot. It’s a really nice golds that has a jacuzzi and a lap pool.
The equipment is good, the facilities are good, the staff friendly, this place blew away my expectations of what a golds can be. ONLY ISSUE, is no proper water bottle refill station. I know other golds have it and I’m shocked this place doesn’t have one. Besides that this is a top notch golds!

Did a free trial and paid for a drop in a couple of times. The memberships are overpriced. The gym is clean and has a cool vibe but there's nothing to justify the cost. The majority of the equipment is precor. Literally same equipment planet fitness uses at $15 a month. The free weights all smell. Can't explain it, you'll have to experience it yourself. Dumbbells smell like doodoo. Wall of windows makes everything uncomfortably hot and you have to deal with glare when lifting. Maybe at $30-40 a month this place would be considerable. The reviews about management and billing, also discouraging

The "no contract, cancel anytime" advertising is a lie. They require you cancel, in writing, thirty days in advance. Unfortunately, I only provided written notice 29 days in advance. They outsource billing to "ABC Fitness Solutions" in Arkansas and were bought out by a German fitness conglomerate. They are threatening to take me to collections if I don't pay through to June - it presently being April - and what was advertised as month-to-month no contract, cancel anytime. We'll see if the judge in small claims court agrees that I was reasonable to rely on the plain meaning of their public statements.

First, before I start my rant I have over 30 years dealing with gyms. I have been a director at multiple large scale gyms, hometown ones as well so I understand the ins and outs of EFTs, billing, canceling etc. To be clear for the price you have access to a pool and fitness facility. They are attempting to update, but it’s a result of needing to fall into “franchise” rules. The equipment is meh- but there is space so you don’t always feel cramped. The people are lovely- mostly older adults since they receive a significant price discount. The owner still doesnt know my name and I’ve been there since 2021. He doesn’t appear to understand Golds image or culture.
My complaint- I have been a member since 2021ish. I have over the years added my children as they have grown and my husband and I have canceled their memberships. Which is typically a quick email stating wanting to cancel- with the 30 days notice.
However back in 2022- I cancelled my husband’s account (I have receipts) but somehow the system merged my son and his account. So, I never assumed I was paying for an additional membership. When my son finally went off to school, this year, I cancelled no problem. However, when I checked my account I noticed I was still be charged. I went to the gym and emailed and they said that’s strange all accounts are closed under you? I was like no here is my billing statement. Please refund me this other membership for the last 3 months. After some very strong conversations and pretty much them saying sorry but oh well- I’m out over 2500 for a membership that I followed the guidelines and cancelled. It has done nothing to provide the emails stating I cancelled with the dates marked. I’m just over it.
First- EFT is a click of a button- you don’t need 30 days. Secondly, it’s not burden of proof to determine how the membership got merged. My proof is clearly that I cancelled it in 2022- and his membership has not been used since. I’m just disappointed in this process and the failure to provide any customer service. With such a bad taste I get to cancel “two” memberships but I have access for another 30 days because I just missed my billing cycle and I have to pay again before they let me cancel. 😳 Save the money, go to a hometown gym, or find a gym where the owner understands gym culture, or even better at this point 24 hours or La Fitness- they seem to understand cancelling membership and basic customer service

Gold's used to have personality. The aesthetics of action aren't just absent from Gold's but actively being scrubbed from the design of this site. I hope that whoever is deciding on the interior design of this site that a grayscape gym is NOT the direction to go down. There is no personality whatsoever. No color, just black, gray, or dark gray. And that sucks, this really sucks to enjoy the amenities but hate the interior design to the point where it's actively taking away from the experience. Its like that scene in Halloweentown where all of the color is drained out and all of the personality has been drained. But you can tell that it lingers there, the potential is there but untapped. I hope that some color, some sort of life, and some sort of athletic art gets brought SOON. At least the machines, weights, and staff are top notch but man, this place is hard to get behind.

I highly don't recommend this gym they have it all set up to where they can suck as much money out of the membership as possible. Much better gyms out there that are more member focused like the fitness compound that just opened in Bothell.
They make it challenging to cancel, they have it set up on a 12 month contract and even after that contract is over they want 30 days notice to cancel. I call right after I was just billed a couple days ago and they tell me I will be billed again after I go through the process of canceling because they need 30 day notice. The front desk can't even help you with canceling the membership... this gym is not worth it, there are many better gyms out there.

I felt very upset and regret for leaving a five-star review previously: When both me and my wife were interested in becoming a membership, the sales person did not recommend the cheaper option, gold member, which can bring an additional guest for free. As a result, both of us registered for the regular membership which is much more expensive than one single gold membership only. In addition, canceling the regular membership needs to pay for additional month of membership instead of immediate cancellation, given it’s advertising month-to-month commitment. We were very disappointed at the gold gym and would not consider joining the membership again.

Overall good equipment. This gym itself is over expensive with lots of hidden charges. They have annual maintenance charge that is not disclosed earlier. There are charges that i had disputed and tried to get some understanding few months back, but they take a lot of time to respond. In the digital era, they dont have online enrollment and cancellation. Their team is very inefficient and clueless about the charges.

Before I begin, it’s important to note that while the gym’s equipment is good, this review focuses on the management and policies, which may not concern everyone. The gym exemplifies poor customer service, employing a strategy that feels like entrapment and extortion. Management, specifically the General Manager and Training Manager, displays unprofessionalism and arrogance, showing no interest in addressing negative feedback unless it’s a 5-star review.
Customer service drastically declines after signing up. Issues or requests for assistance go unaddressed, highlighting a lack of genuine customer care. A particularly egregious policy is the non-refundable nature of prepaid personal training sessions, which are lost regardless of circumstances, including medical ones. This policy feels especially exploitative, as it requires repurchasing already paid-for sessions without consideration for the customer’s situation.
The management’s approach is transactional and lacks empathy, refusing to provide contact information for higher-ups or acknowledge the absence of expiration terms in contracts for prepaid sessions. This review, stemming from personal experience and failed attempts to resolve these issues through respectful inquiries, underscores the importance of carefully reviewing agreements and underscores a broader disregard for customer loyalty and service.
Exploring avenues like the Better Business Bureau, small claims court, or social media to seek justice, this situation transcends monetary concerns, becoming a matter of principle. Unfortunately, attempts to contact the owner were blocked by the team, possibly as per instruction, further illustrating the gym’s customer service failures. Be forewarned and avoid this place if you are looking at interaction or engagements of any kind with the staff members. I am donating my money ( almost 500$) these folks decided not reimburse ( as expired prepaid funds for the training ) except these are last people who deserve a donation.

Considering Gold’s Woodinville? Know that they are great at sales. The facility is 3/3.5 on 5. The junior staff is fine. I discontinued my membership because of unscrupulous policies and behavior of gym management that shows disregard for customers. The feeling I get is like they are doing us a favor by making these facilities available. Last year when we originally picked this gym, it was so our son could swim there. A month into our membership - they changed the swim team and swim classes schedule such that it was impossible for a school going child to get free swim lanes until after 8pm!! I brought this up many times with the shift managers, they said they’d look into it, nothing has changed till date (March’24). We tried to make the schedule work but it was unrealistic. Other reviewers have shared the same challenges with the swimming pool, so we aren’t the only ones.
Nevertheless, I continued using the gym for my own training but we’ve been at the receiving end of other unprofessional behavior on part of gym management over the last 10 months. I don’t want to patronize an establishment that doesn’t care about its customers.

Nice location (except limited parking - & all on slope, so had to worry about my car getting dinged). Nice staff the first time we went in to look around at midday (c 1:30-2pm) on a Fri. However, we returned after work that Wed (6:30ish) to try at a realistic time and to check out wait times etc…The kids at the desk this time wanted to charge us, so we left. Not sure if we will be returning just yet - didn’t get the friendly vibe we initially felt. Ashame as we would’ve likely signed up that second trip had we not been denied opportunity. Many places give you more than 1 day pass to feel comfortable about committing. We are now trying the 5-day pass at Columbia Athletic club (which is higher priced, but more accommodating).

This place has recently went through the worst "transformation". Friendly staffs are gone. Policy changes without communication to members. I drove up from Bellevue with my kids for a swim, only to be told kids' swim hours had been changed "not long ago" (his exact words). I was so fed up I've decided to cancel my membership. Even with cancelation, you have to wait/pay 45 days. I joined in July 2023, it was not bad. Strangely how things to turn upside down in half a year.

I hate this gym. 2 stars because it’s better than the 24 hour fitness down the street, but if you’re under 5’3” you WILL NOT be able to bench or have the squat rack at a comfortable height for setting up, and all of the leg press machines have a gross curve on them. Mind you, I’m 5’2.5” and the leg press machines don’t go deep enough for a true leg press. This is an aesthetic body builder gym, not a power lifting gym. Also, the customer service from the hours of 5am- 7am is flat out rude. First time trying out the gym I asked the “personal trainer” Steve if the gym had a 35lb. bar that could be used for Olympic style lifting and he said “I don’t know.”
Today (1/21/2024) I went to let staff at the front desk know that the third floor prone leg curl machine weight is shaking and wavering on the track with the initial pull and coming down release back to neutral- which makes for an unstable lift. Boy at front desk said “that sounds like a you problem” and stared at me like I was bothering him. Just can’t win with a gym in this area. I didn’t want to pay $85/ month so I signed up for the annual contract at $65/ month. I’m stuck with this bummy gym with subpar equipment for a year now. Very upsetting.

Whoever is supposed to work the morning 5:00am shift has been consistently late. A lot of people have a tight schedule in the morning and this really throws us off. Having only one person work the morning shift = a single point of failure when that person oversleeps. Right now I’m standing with about 15 people waiting at the door…Apparently the morning shift person hasn’t heard of alarm clocks. Maybe management should take it upon themselves to either make two people work at that time or fire the current employee who is always late.
Thank you, this is in response to your reply as of Nov. 7th 2023: Appreciate you addressing the issue. I would like to reiterate that I don’t necessarily blame the employee— emergencies, illness, etc. may come up from time to time. My complaint was more so focused on the managerial decision to have only one employee work at that hour. I’ve never seen a successful business rely upon one employee to open for the reasons discussed above. Hope you all find a solution, thanks.

This gym is deceptive and awful in their business practice. They tell you it's a monthly fee, but don't tell you there's an additional yearly fee even if you're paying 'month to month'. Not to mention if you're injured or unable to come to the gym for a bit, they charge you money to 'freeze' your account. Want to cancel? Charge for that too. I wound up getting injured at their gym and they tried to charge me near $200 to stop paying monthly! Not to mention suddenly 'nothing' can be done in person and you need to sign up to some awful third party website to even manage your account. Terrible, deceptive and disgusting practice Golds Gym. I'd give you 0 stars if I could.

I have appreciated the facilities at Gold’s Gym, particularly their swimming pool, which I frequently use post-workout or after work. Due to my busy schedule, my visits have predominantly been during the evening. Recently, there have been changes to the lap swimming schedule, which were not communicated in advance. As of the past few weeks, there has been no clarity on the updated timings for lap swimming. I've noticed a discrepancy between the timings mentioned on their website and the schedule displayed at the pool. Upon discussing this with the swim instructor, I encountered a dismissive attitude and let me know how "wrong" I was. Until the schedule discrepancies are addressed, I would advise potential swimmers to be prepared for no lane availability during the posted evening lap swim hours or a correction of the currently posted swimming times.

Terrible place! Awful Manager Communcation! Unuseful Customer service! (see details bellow). Be prepared you may go through those painful things if you start to be a member!
Unclear policy and frequently changed monthly fee (especially for Kids)!!!
-- I joined the gym major because I wanted to find a place to swim with my kid, I was told that one adult is ~62 and one kid is 25 (before tax). I signed up! 2-3 months later, I referred two of my friends. They were told: no fees for kids, only parents needing to be a member. Several months later, I was being told, you HAVE TO PAY for your kids the same price as adults (~62). Actually the front desk person cannot enroll a kid as a member when i tried to do so (so that we can finish her swimming class).
Ridiculous Pool schedule!!!
-- After 5pm until 8:15, no lane available for members, even after 8:15, only one lane open! Be prepared if you mainly want to use the pool and have a fulltime job, the schedule is not friendly for you.
Unuseful Customer service!!!
-- Never expect to get any useful information from front desk: 1) First time asking membership policy, got three different answers from different people; 2) during summer vacation, you ask if pool is available after 5pm, they said NO, but actually it YES! 3) didn't get the right email alias first time when my husband tried to cancel his membership (still being charged 2 months later).
Awful Communication with Manager!!!
--Just because I asked several clarified questions about pool/fee policies. The mgr gave me a call to complain I made their front desk peron uncomfortable, when i asked why and repeat the whole story, the answer is: similar story, properly misleading. If you didn't read the document clearly, that's your fault, you cannot ask questions! If you didn't read the email, that's your fault, you cannot clarify anything! If you want to cancel, just go, we don't care!

Don't go here for swimming anymore...changed dates last minute so now the session runs into school...I signed up for specific dates that would fit our schedule and they didn't honor dates.
First day only 20 minute lesson...was supposed to be 30 min...no refund, recourse or makeup.
Every day thereafter 3-5 minutes lost
from walking kids back from lobby to pool area rather than meeting in pool area and being ready to go...we aren't getting the time we paid for.
Have been bringing my kids here for 18 years and we always preferred here because kids could play in kiddies pool or hot tub after short lessons for a bit. Now they are kicked out even though NO ONE is using those areas. Really sad to see them pinching pennies this way unnecessarily.
All the parents I've spoken to will not be returning after this session. Also no desire to renew my gym membership after this petty treatment of an 18 year customer. Really really sad.

UPDATE: Subtracted one star due to now charging $15 per month to keep account frozen. I'm a month to month right now and last year this was not the case. I will be considering another gym due to this.
I’ve been using this Golds as my primary gym since summer last year given how close it is to my work. Always lots of equipment available. Benches and racks can sometimes be all in use but when I’m here, they’re available.
Locker rooms are clean but someone needs to ensure toilet paper is stocked.
Main reason I give it 4 is it’s another $20 per month with the pool that I don’t use. During the week, it’s used for swim lessons so if you want to use the pool, better be open to coming in on the weekend.
Parking can be crowded after 6 pm during the week due to swim lessons but other than that, it’s been a good gym to go to.

Nice gym overall however the pool schedule is pretty ridiculous for every night of the week from 5-9pm the entire pool is used for the youth aquatics team. I usually love swimming for my post workout cardio but thats just not something I would ever be able to do here.
Update: Cancellation process is a total scam at this gym including a laundry list of things you need to provide along with a $125 cancellation fee. BEWARE

Just took my girst swim in pool. Great experience. Walked to shower in bare feet. Getting out of shower I noticed that my feet were sliding on tiles when wet. Walking back to locker I slipped twice second time falling hard enough to hit my head on time and injure elbow on way down. Being evaluated for concussion and elbow injuries. Dr peter ward new member Friday january 20 2023. I cannot be the first. No mat slippery tiles. No warning.

The absolute nicest gym I've ever been to! Excellent collection of well-maintained equipment and amenities, friendly and helpful staff, polite clientele, fun classes, and so clean! It honestly feels like I'm going to an adult playground half the time. I've been going for over six months now and have no intention of stopping.
I also signed up with a trainer and I've never felt this strong and healthy in my entire life. The best part is that my trainer takes the time to walk me through the 'why' of everything we do, so that my education here can carry forward into my future workouts long after I leave.
If you're looking for the best gym in the Seattle area, you've found it.

I have belonged to a gym for years. Every day at the end of the day, I would have the same internal battle about motivating myself to go to the gym. I feel energized and see changes in my body-which has never been true in my time at the gym. This pushes me harder than I thought I was capable, and it's addicting!

It would be nice if the general public had access to the pool in the evenings. Instead, the rest of us have to get in there by 5. Swim club takes up the all evenings. Not getting my $$$ worth. If you are going to do this, you might as well just close the pool to everyone except the kid's swim classes. General public be damned.

Cleanest big name gym (24, LA, golds etc) I’ve ever been to. I’m thoroughly impressed with the staff and facilities. Owner is fantastic and friendly too while working out. Requires everyone to carry a cleaning bottle around which takes some getting used to but it explained why the gym is so clean too.

I worked out at Golds from Sept until they shutdown in March. They did nothing to my knowledge to fight to reopen like my other gym. Once the governor allowed them to reopen they mandated masks which was not recommended or enforced while working out. They billed me after the gym was closed in March and billed me for a yearly fee even though my account was frozen. They did not take care of me as a client. I decided to quit Golds and move on.

I have had my wallet and car keys stolen out of locker with a padlock on it on two separate occasions. Obviously, this is not the fault of Gold's Gym and the staff handled the situation very professionally. However, on both occasions, the responding police officers informed the manager (in my presence) to install closed circuit television cameras. The one officer explained that, even just one at the front entrance would be a significant deterrent and improve the odds that the police would catch the culprit. That same officer explained to me that he has urged the manager to do this on a number of other occasions, without success. One final note, on both occasions, I was by no means the only this effected; the thief(s) broke into multiple lockers.
On a different note, the Sunday morning lifeguard at the swimming pool spends the majority of his time sitting at a table, playing with his phone and listening to music with his headphone on. There is an elderly man with a pace maker who always swims at the same time that I do. Clearly, this man is at a reasonably high risk for a cardiac event. He could be laying on the bottom of the pool for 15 minutes before this lifeguard might happen to glance up from his game or movie (or whatever he finds so engaging on his phone). Because the lifeguard has headphones on, he wouldn't even hear sounds of struggle. I've brought this concern up to the assistant manager at the front desk on more than one occasion and have been politely dismissed. She said that the lifeguard are "not her department" and that there was little she could do.
I'm not sure why management seems to lack concern for the basic safety and security of their customers.

Awesome gym. Staff are helpful, facility is clean. No weird smells. Locker rooms are luxurious. Pool is always clean. Nothing bad here. Mackenzie Conrad was my guide and she was what won me over to this gym. She was a real person that took the time to get in detail what I'm looking for and tailored what Gold's could do for me. Go get some work done!

Very Poor Management! They treat the public very bad! I went here back in October 2018, and After being in there for half hour waiting to speak with someone, then 10 minutes with the managers, and they gave me an attitude both on the phone, and in person! While speaking with peoplepby the name of Ashley and head mgr Ryan in person, their attitude was pretty much, "get the hell out of here!" "Yeah yeah whatever." That's exactly how their tone was towards me.
Overall, I can see why this gym doesn't have a lot of members (as I observed). Very unclean - went there and bathrooms we're so unclean and not stocked), Terrible people skills/public relations, which results in not to getting everyone, especially customers (knowing customers are your profit) or people who apply for a position here, which can result in losing business, and no money going out of business like the other Golds gyms that went out of business! In conclusion, I myself would never recommend anyone to apply for either a position or a membership here.

It’s getting a 2, still can’t swim during the week there after work, the people teaching swim class are always screaming. Pretty hard to zen out in sauna with a guy yelling the entire time. It’s a weekend gym only if you want to relax and swim. Ps women’s bathroom still doesn’t have an extractor. Bring your own bag for your wet swimming suit.

Primary reason to get membership was to get private swimming lessons for my 7 yr old. After prepaying for the swimming lessons it took over 1.5 months and more than 10 calls/followups to even schedule lessons all the while we were wasting membership fees. Unprofessional staff, poor customer service as we had to call them so many times and no one really took ownership to solve and track our issue to closure. Will not recommend this facility.

This place looks nice but I would stay clear! Been with them for over a year and at my year point they raised my fees by close to half of what I was originally paying and also did not tell me when I signed up that there is a random $60 dollar yearly fee. Customer service is awful, when you try and cancel the membership they will continue to charge you and also make you pay the yearly fee all over again even though you canceled a couple months prior. I tried to talk to the so call "general manager" and he just laughed and said that "I dont know why we do it this way but there is nothing we can do about those charges". I would recommend going to 24 hour fitness down the road! No hassle with them and you know what you are paying for.

My biggest complaint is just the hours, and that the swimming pool is almost always booked for swim meets.
Overall I like it; I like the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi, I like the free classes, I like that is broken up into different levels and rooms so that not everything is in a big open warehouse, and they always have up-to-date machines.
But the price is high, and I actually have had times I wanted to go, but they were closed.

Incredible price / value. They have everything I could ever dream of using for a workout. Wide variety of classes. Nice big pool and the locker rooms are fine. Staff is always friendly and they have child care available. On the downside parking can be difficult and gym can congested at peak times. Equipment is spread across three floors in a difficult to grock fashion, so you must enjoy climbing stairs to workout here.

Beware of their dubious schemes. I was not told about annual membership fees when I joined. After using the gym for few months, I cancelled my membership. They need 1 month notice so ended up paying for an extra month without using their services. Then the manager, Ryan Ching talked me into freezing the account for 3 months instead of cancelling. After a month of being in freeze, I emailed to cancel my account (almost 2 month before the freeze ends and account due for charge). I was surprised to see a charge even after my account was cancelled. I called Ryan Ching and left multiple voice messages. He never called back. I also sent emails and finally he responded to emails but was very rude and after a month of complaining has still not issued a refund.

We really enjoy this gym! The equipment is in great condition. There are so many different spaces in the gym which helps me mix up my workouts. The kid's club is really big & lots of activities. The classes & instructors are motivational and challenging. I am big fan of the cinema room too! I do agree with other reviews that the swimming pool tiles are super slippery & the women's locker's room could use an update.
