Don’t go there. I pulled my daughter out after she was repeatedly punched in the back by another student on at least three different occasions. I spoke with the teacher but he acted like he didn’t care or have the time to discuss it. When I brought the issue to the gym owner, the first thing she asked was if my child was homeschooled, as if that had anything to do with the incident. It was clear she was deflecting blame from the start. She then insisted the teacher was one of their best and brushed off the situation by saying, “boys will be boys” and that they usually get physical with each other. Not once did she apologize or acknowledge that this happened on their watch multiple times. And anytime I spoke about this to a counselor, parent or an educator, their jaws dropped just hearing how the gym owner responded to the situation. If you have a daughter, this is not a safe space for them. If you have a son, he won’t learn accountability or respect in that environment, just that bad behavior is tolerated.

All in all, they gym owners response showed exactly how backwards their priorities are. She tried protecting staff reputations instead of protecting kids. No one is going to pay you just for their kid to spend time there to experience unchecked physical violence from other classmates. I don’t care if they see this as a small issue, our children are precious and their safety is not something to gamble with. I moved my daughter to a different teacher just to finish out the class, then left for good. For years, we drove to a gymnastics center in Bellingham even though Gym Star is only minutes from our home.

They only have female and male as options for genders AND the disclaimer about special needs children will be asked to leave of they disrupt classes, just shows that they are not aware of societal needs in this climate.

Shooting stars preschool 3pre and prek (4yo)
Well after 2 years of sending my daughter. We are so glad we made the choice to go with shooting stars. Staff and teachers are amazing. Great balance of gym, play, school. Kids love the freetime and crafts. They go above and beyond with 2 recitals, end of year books. Memory book that will last a lifetime. Great choice and a no brainer for the cost with a gymnasium. 🥇⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gymnastics:
I have 2 kids 1 started at 13 mo the other 18 mo old. Parent and toddler classes are so good for kids to grow, get strength and wiggles out.
My daughter is now in the preschool level and they do a great job of development, skills and increasing skills with correct movements. Great year round activity.

Preschool (3 year old)
We did 2 days a week 930 to 1230. Worth every penny! Teachers and all staff are so sweet and really care about your kidos. We had a very good year and it finished with a great workbook full of photos and development. They gave us all the skills shees and assessments and what we should continue to work on. Very well structured. Class sizes are small and they always put the kids first. You help contribute with snacks but it's not much, they call with any kids of worried and keep you 100% in the loop. I will continue to use gym for school, classes and probably a birthday here and there.

Thank you gym stars staff!

Ever since the new owners this place has changed, and not in a good way.

While my daughter was in gymnastics atleast once a month they would call me as we were walking out our door to let me know that class was canceled for the day for reasons like teacher didn’t show up, not enough students in the class. One time my daughter and I walked in and they told us class was cancelled because they were having a Mother’s Day event. And that I should have gotten an email about it. They didn’t even have the right email. And they told me I have them that email. I didn’t. I never created any portal. But ok. They also completely canceled a class effective that day.

When I finally had enough I told them to cancel our membership. Amber said oh we need a 30 day notice. Emailed. Ok but you didn’t give me a 30 days notice to cancel and reschedule. Oh by the way I never signed anything nor was I told that there was this rule before I signed up. Apparently it’s in the website somewhere under policies.

Things can’t get any worse right? Wrong.

The baby gate upstairs is broken. So a child can easily fall down the stairs.

One of makeup sessions we did because they rescheduled, we get to class and the they have no idea where to send my 5 years old old, finally they tell her to go with a class of what looks like 7 or 8 year olds. 15 min later the teacher tells her ok class is over go play by yourself on the monkey bars until your mom comes and gets you…. And left. MY 5 year old… BY HERSELF:.. where anyone can come grab her or she can walk out!!! Thankfully I was just upstairs…

New owners are horrible. Don’t waste your money here. The teachers for the younger kids are okay. Nothing to brag about.

We have been with the gym for years. Ever since the new owners we have had nothing but issues. They treat your children like they are dollar signs. They do not care about the well-being of their athletes and have their own selfish agenda. Extremely unorganized. We will be pulling our children and advise any parents seeking a gym to caution themselves.

New owners rip you off, stay far away! Paid for the month for my daughters gymnastics class (4 classes) and one week before the holiday they said they will be closed for the next two weeks. So, I paid for 4 weeks of classes and received 2 classes? Called them and they said they have new owners and “that’s how they do things”. Complete rip-off, unenrolled my daughter and will stay far away.

Great gym for the kids. They have a lot of great classes for kids of different ages. The teachers are all really nice and do a great job with the kids. The upstairs area is locked in so you can have smaller kids that won’t end up down the stairs. Lots of toys and books upstairs to keep the younger ones entertained while you watch your kids in class.
