I was recently in the Southlake Union area of Seattle for a concert. Stayed overnight and lady at the front desk complimented my wife. Turns out that she is a coach at this gym. We were promptly invited to attend.
I signed up for the 6:00 a.m. workout. When I showed up I was greeted promptly by the coach for the morning. He walked me through the Halo system they have for working out.
I've been doing Crossfit for just under 2 years but it was still nice to know you checked that I understood how everything worked.
The Halo system creates a very phenomenally quick way to get everything loaded and well on your way for a excellent workout. The only downside to this and perhaps upside for some people is that limits the interaction that you can have with fellow members. Something that my CrossFit gym is really good at. But I can see the benefit to the system and totally understand it's implementation.
Overall an excellent gym to go to and fair prices for the area. I had a great time and a really good workout. Hoping that I can have another opportunity to attend in the future.

Yash and Linzy are amazing and have created such a great community at Inustrious SLU. The space itself was very clean and the energy with the sound system is unmatched. I love that when you workout here you get your own space /weights/tread etc. The staff was uplifting during and after class. Would highly recommend coming here.

I was in town visiting and took a class here and it was so fun. I’ve never done a work out like this but it actually was really comfortable and not intimidating. The class was easy to follow yet super challenging. I was sore for at least four days. The music and atmosphere was fun, and the gym always really clean. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun workout

This has to be my most favourite place in Seattle. I love this place, coaches, people, everything about it. The only thing I wish for is if the classes on weekends were early :( I miss my weekends most times because of 9am being the first session.

Good workout and the staff is very friendly. Only issue I have is 15 minutes of the work is instruction. I think having some intro classes would help to teach people, but then the majority of classes should be intermediate level where we just get to work.

Did a couple of drop in’s this week. I really loved the “halo” setup and having my own workout area with all the equipment I needed. The staff were super friendly - and really enjoyed being coached by Stephen both drop ins- he explained everything perfectly. Great programming as well for the two days I was there! Will definitely be dropping in here again next time I’m in Seattle!

I rarely write reviews, but joining Industrious about six months ago was one of my best decisions. Expect the most productive 50 minutes of your day with supportive coaching and great music (fun mixes)! I joined to complement my endurance training with strength. Their workouts encouraged me to carefully step out of my comfort zone, and because of that, I am stronger, more confident in the squat rack, and a faster runner (that was a pleasant surprise). I cannot thank the coaching staff enough for their warm support!

Outstanding gym — they make it look easy! Coaches are attentive, and give clear, actionable feedback very quickly; I'm actually really impressed with how effective they are with diagnosing and issue and prescribing a solution. On top of that, the programming is consistently awesome, and thoughtfully done w/r/t timing, desired stimulus, and balance across various fitness domains. Also if you've ever been intimidated by some of the higher-skill CrossFit movements, there tends to be less of them here, and when there are they're super clear about substitutions.

From the moment I walked through the doors of Industrious, it’s felt like home. It’s a place I miss when I’m not there and I truly look forward to returning every day. I was a little overwhelmed when I first started, as I’ve not ever done weightlifting. Each one of the coaches has gone above and beyond to help me make adjustments and modifications where needed to ensure that I not only feel successful but that I continue to grow each time I train. The daily programming is challenging and intentional, really living up to the motto of “Work Hard. Live Fit.” I’m pleased with what I’ve been able to accomplish in my short time there and am looking forward to getting better every time. Thank you, Industrious Frisco!

My experience at this CrossFit gym was disappointing, especially considering my previous positive experiences at other locations in NYC and Seattle.

1. Rushed Workouts: Every workout was hurried and rushed, leaving 1min to properly adjust weights or focus on form is not enough time.

I was told my regular weight for thrusters was too heavy, and the plate was removed without my consent, which was both frustrating and disrespectful!

2. Lack of attention to individual goal. I have a personal trainer and clear training goal. I inquired about using an alternative workout to replace the cardio portion, I was denied with a dismissive response of "only 90 seconds, just do it." Despite expressing my goals, the trainers seemed indifferent to ensuring my goal.

3. Poor Communication: I expressed my frustration to instructor and his reply "It is a class, not personal training," which came across as rude and dismissive of individual concerns.

I sent an email last week requesting the refund for the remaining class. I am still waiting for a resolution.

Let's start with the positives:

- I like how you have your own station with most of your equipment there. And before class, they tell you what other equipment you need to grab and it really isn't much.
- Workouts are pretty beginner friendly, or there's easier modifications.
- I believe his name is Brett but he's a friendly dude! Welcoming, and helped me grabbed all my equipment when I was running late. Talk about going above and beyond!
- There are quite a few coaches walking around, so if you have questions, you can flag one down!

Now let's talk about the negatives:
- Get there early to grab your spot! It gets really hectic during the transition of people going out and more coming in. It gets hard to tell who's claimed a spot and who's cleaning up and is on the way out. Yesterday, I got frustrated because I went to three different stations who told me that they were actually using it. It took four tries for me to get a station. Today, got there early and asked someone who was cleaning if I could have their spot.
- There are only THREE bathrooms! Speaking of getting there early, either show up dressed and ready to go or change before you get there. Every day I've gone in and there's a line to the bathrooms.
- Instructors aren't very hands on. Yes, they show you how to do the workout but they don't give you feedback. I think getting form correct is so important.
- I hurt my foot badly yesterday, to the point where I was on the ground and NOT ONE coach came by to ask if I was okay. It was only a foot cramp but I was literally on the ground and the person behind me asked if I was okay.
- Oh and today, I asked the coach what number round we were on and she just stared at me. Okay-- thanks coach.

Overall feedback: Love the music and the workouts! But if you wanna be best prepared: come early, dressed and ready to go! And have some knowledge of crossfit!

Absolutely love this gym! Not the typical gym bro xfit vibe that so many other boxes have. Do t get me wrong, I can bro out with the best of them, but this gym feels much more welcoming and accessible to the general public tha typical xfit box. Coaches and nice and pleasant and will give u gr8 instruction. Workouts have both RX and scales variations. The unique thing with industrious is the individual workout area dedicated to each lifter. I like this style alot but may not be for everyone.

This gym has great equipment and is very clean. HOWEVER, the priority is not on form. I saw a couple of regulars performing moves in a way that had me worried about their backs. Yet the instructor gave zero corrections throughout the workout. Even if he had, the music was too loud to hear him. I like my music, but I was having a hard time hearing his instructions over it. I was regretting not picking up the earplugs they provide at the front desk.

If you’re looking to crank out a difficult workout and don’t care about form, this is your gym. I also could’ve sworn I reviewed this gym already. So it looks like they’re taking down any negative reviews. Let’s see how long this one stays up.

The highest praise I can give Industrious SLU is that having relocated multiple times I always wish I could move back to Seattle JUST to attend their classes. Let's get the boring stuff out of the way, the equipment is well-maintained, the workout space is clean, and the wods are super fun and challenging. But the real stars are the coaches and the community. I've never been the athletic type myself, but I found myself excited to check in every single week, because of the constant encouragement and support of the downright friendly coaches. If they could teach me those Olympic lifts, I'm confident they can quite literally teach anyone. Special shoutout to Bret, Zanna, Stephen, and Heather, you just couldn't find a better group of coaches, with their welcoming personalities and infectious energy (thank you for taking my music requests!). I'm sure the morning coaches are just as brilliant, I'm just too lazy to have made it to any of those sessions. Plus, I made some great friends in the process - an amazing added bonus! And I've continued my fitness journey long after, which I can't say any other place has encouraged me to do.

*Edit
The staff here is so friendly and great at pushing its clients safely. I’m new to CrossFit, so my review, relative to other affiliations will be somewhat biased, but I love it. They incorporate a “halo” concept, which basically just means you have your own four corners to lift weights and do your workout. If you’re thinking of signing up, check the workhardlivefit ig page to see the workouts. They incorporate cardio focused days and weight lifting days, so the program is balanced. After being a gym rat and doing excessive cardio, constantly getting on and falling off the wagon, this is definitely the most efficient use of time to stay in shape.

Only if I could give more than 5 stars to these folks! The ambience is very motivating, equipment is high quality and maintained. I have been going here since 3 months now and have never been this happy about a gym. The trainers are very friendly and they always make sure you know the move and technique. I thought I would never learn how to do rope skipping but I was wrong. The trainer not only gave me a substitute workout incase I didn’t wanted to do it but also gave me tips and tricks on how learn. The next week I was skipping 150 reps single under with a smiling face. I would highly recommend taking a free class and experiencing yourself. All trainers are amazing but I would also recommend taking a class with Bret!

This gym is almost solely responsible for keeping me from going insane during the pandemic. They have done everything possible to stay open and follow the safety rules in King County. Amazing gym and community. I came here once to try something new after having an injury and within a month i ended up upgrading my membership twice i loved it so much.

High quality equipment, knowledgable and friendly coaches who will help you dial in your technique, most have backgrounds in some form of weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, or have been in the Crossfit scene for many years. Fun and challenging workouts with a wide range of exercises and movements.
The environment gives you plenty of space and your own equipment in your own Halo and the music for your workout is curated, mixed and timed for your workout.
The community and members at Industrious are so friendly and encouraging it's just infectious and great to be around.

Industrious also listens to your feedback and improves their environment, workouts and content based on it. It's refreshing to see a business be so resilient and adaptive to needs and suggestions. They're not afraid to try new things that might improve their business.

Thanks Industrious.

Industrious is hands down the BEST at what they do! After moving out of the area from Industrious LYN 3 years ago I tried countless other gyms, programs, bootcamps, etc. and nothing even came close to the quality of experience that Industrious offers. From the fitness programming to the equipment everything is top notch, but what really sets Industrious apart are the Coaches. Every single time you walk in the door you feel welcomed, valued, and supported. The staff is truly invested in helping every member meet their individual goals and they do it by encouraging, challenging, and teaching you how to do your best and then make your best better! Literally the only downside is that once you try Industrious you will not be satisfied working out anywhere else again.

TL;DR - Highly recommend!

I joined INDUSTRIOUS in July of 2020, attending the SLU campus, and couldn't be happier. Not that I was in great shape before quarantine, but quarantine certainly didn't help. By July I was looking for a gym to kick my @$$ into gear, but given the restrictions, I wasn't sure what would be the best option, or what if anything was even open. After trying a couple CrossFit gyms, I joined INDUSTRIOUS. It is obvious that INDUSTRIOUS is going the extra mile to provide the best possible experience for their members within the current guidelines. I wouldn't say the price of membership is super competitive, at $200+ a month (I've never paid anything near that for a gym membership before), but I think its commensurate with the Seattle market, if not a little cheaper than the nearby CrossFit gyms. Ultimately, it's well worth the price.

Regarding what a workout looks like, you show up for class on the hour and pick a halo (as King County requires you to have 300 sq. ft. of dedicated space for each member). Each halo has all of the equipment you'll need for the workout, whether it be weights, bikes, rowers, runners, boxes, etc. You come in, pick a halo, warm up, hit the strength portion of the workout, bust @$$ in the conditioning portion of the workout, and you're out within the hour. All of the workouts are pre-programmed for you. Each hour/class has two dedicated coaches leading you through the movements and motivating you through the workout. All the coaches I've had so far have been great and helpful. All of the equipment and floors are cleaned after every class. You won't find a cleaner gym.

Regarding logistics, the earliest class is 5 AM, the latest is 7 PM. They have classes on the hour between then, except for 1 PM and 2 PM. The hourly class structure is very convenient. It certainly is annoying to have to reserve (often a day or two) ahead of time exactly when you want to work out, especially for someone like me who has an unpredictable work schedule. And, sometimes, the class that I want is full, so I have to join a wait list, and won't always make it on the list. But in the last few months, I can count on one hand the number of times I wasn't able to get a spot in my desired class time. This isn't their fault given the current restrictions. Since I've joined, they've expanded the number of halos in the gym, allowing more participants per class, and enabling more people to reserve their desired class time. INDUSTRIOUS is clearly doing the very best they can in the current circumstances, which is much appreciated.

I'd encourage anyone thinking about joining to do so, regardless of your age, fitness level, etc. Every workout can be scaled to your health and fitness level. I'm a 29 y/o male, but had a stress fracture in my foot when I joined, a history of lumbar spine injuries, and broke a toe a couple months into joining (not at the gym). I'm clearly a delicate little flower. But I've been able to modify all the workouts around these issues, and still get a great workout every time. I've seen a lot of progress even in 2.5 months. Regardless of your perceived limitations, even if you're older, prone to injuries, in terrible shape, etc., INDUSTRIOUS will help you reach your goals.

To put into perspective, I’ve been doing “crossfit” for 8 years now, been through 4 different gyms, and have visited gyms all over the world. Industrious is an extremely professional well run gym and business. Management and coaches are always on same page, communicates with clientele extremely well, and is constantly looking for ways to improve the user experience. Programming is consistent and challenging, yet has something for everyone. The ambiance is very motivating! This has been particularly pertinent during the COVID19 pandemic, during which Industrious never and still hasn’t sat on their laurels. They have constantly adapted to the ever changing situations to make this probably one of the safest environments you can work out in during these difficult times. I believe the gym experience now is actually better than it was before the pandemic, and I’ve heard that from many athletes! Rock on Industrious!

I love this gym! Their team is professional, motivating, safe, and helpful! They have put into practice a few measures that help to make group workouts feel safe during this time. Additionally they go over form each workout and are available to help during workouts. They also keep adding more class time options and their app is easy to use. It’s worth the price!!

Awesome atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful. Worth checking them out if you're new to Crossfit or a seasoned veteran. It's a bit difficult to find a class sometimes but the staff will do their best to make sure you can get one.

CrossFit Industrious is by far the most customer centric box I have ever been to. Their customer experience is exceptional! The coaches are super friendly, knowledgeable and they always make us feel valued. The place is well maintained. We have been enjoying our membership so much and I would highly recommend CrossFit Industrious to everyone who wants to be part of a great community while maintaining a healthy life style!

I dropped in for a class while on vacation and could not have had a better experience. The coaches are awesome, the facility is clean, the equipment is basically brand new, and everyone made me feel right at home. The WOD was great too; if you're in Seattle, this could be your box away from home!

In Seattle for work and the SLU location just opened since my last visit and is closer to where I stay for my visits. Loved the programming, coaching and music. Plus the out of towner pass is a great deal. Definitely my new box when I am in Seattle!

Did a drop-in here while on vacation in Seattle and LOVED it. Brand new gym with all brand new Rogue equipment. Nicest CrossFit gym we have ever been to. Coach Cassie was awesome; she had 3 busy classes back to back but kept the classes flowing smoothly and efficiently. Also loved that the price of a drop-in was a t-shirt, which my husband and I usually end up buying anyway when we do a drop-in somewhere! Thanks for an awesome experience, CF Industrious!

I love this place. I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 6 years and it’s the best CrossFit box I’ve ever been to. It’s only been a little over 2 months that it’s been open but in that short period I feel like I’ve improved so much. The coaches are so helpful and really take the time to talk you through things and are always so positive, not to mention that the music is always BUMPIN’! Coming here is the best part of my day. Highly recommend for beginners and experienced CrossFitters alike.

5 stars doesn’t even do it justice. I was on vacation in Seattle for a week and just happened to see this place next to my hotel. Huge shout out to Jeremy for letting me know about the “out of towner” pass and hooking up the 3 classes. Although I workout regularly, I had never done CrossFit before. But Jeremy, Andre, and Stephen were extremely friendly, welcoming, encouraging and motivating. They all went out of their way to ensure I was using proper technique; and they offered tips to improve my form along the way. Honestly have never seen that level of tremendous customer service at any gym. I can tell they really connect with their members. Oh yeah, and the music is great!

Can’t say enough positive things about Industrious. Highly recommend anyone at any fitness level to give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Wish I had another week here because I would sign up for another 3 classes! For those of you Seattle locals, don’t take this place for granted!

Hope I see an Industrious pop up soon in the north suburban Chicago suburbs ;)

Best programming ever ! .. we love the weightlifting sessions and the positive vibes .. coaches always have a lot of energy, even if you had a bad day .. go there and get your battery re-charged with a great quality Crossfit class, level is super competitive and I feel like I'm improving in multiple areas, switching to this gym was the best decision.

All equipment is new and from Rogue fitness 😍⚒
