While we enjoyed the dance teachers and the front lady was so friendly, our experience with the owner Chris was terrible and ensured we will never return. Poor communication, lack of follow through, charging ridiculous amounts to participate in the performance and worst of all, not providing the recital photos and video we paid an arm and leg for.
Keep in mind this was a dance class for 4 & 5 year olds. It felt like they wanted to pump every last penny out of us while giving absolute garbage customer service.
-A sparkly shirt and plain polyster pants was over $100
-3 tickets to attend said performance at a highschool auditorium, over $100. Yes we were at the front, tickets at the back row were not much cheaper tho
-Taking your own video and photos of performance not allowed so they charged a βmedia feeβ of $110
-For one dance performance, we paid over $300!
The worst part of this, we have not received any photos or videos from the 5/24 recital. I have heard from other parents in the group that they got theirs a month ago.
I have spoken to Chris on the phone who told me directly they were coming β this was over 3 wks ago and 6 wks after the recital
Called 2 weeks after that call and left a voicemail, no return call
Emailed twice to Chris, no response.
Weβve had to waste so much time hounding this studio for the services we paid for and never received. Iβve finally filed a claim with my bank to dispute the charges. Would have done it via Better Business Bureau but of course theyβre not listed.
There were other issues with them offering to not charge for a late start and leaving early but of course, those agreements were not honored by Chris as well.

I have dropped my granddaughter off a couple of times and have been treated very poorly by Chris. She talks down to people, her tone is very negative and she is very dismissive and condescending. The tone of her voice is as if she is scolding you for not knowing her rules. She has made some moms cry and talked rudely to other parents. She wants you out of the lobby asap and makes that very clear. I find this studio very unwelcoming. My granddaughter and friends were not welcome to take an additional class because their attention span doesnβt meet her criteria. These are small children who are expected to be disciplined at 4 years old. The energy from the moment you walk in is very toxic and draining.

ur oldest daughter danced at InMotion for 3 years (age 6-9), and our younger daughter for a little less than 2 years (4-6).
Besides being the only dance studio of its kind in Poulsbo and being only 5 minutes from our home, we like InMotion because the studio and staff created a really positive, challenging, yet fun environment for them to learn about dance.
Throughout our time there, our oldest got to participate in the spring showcase 2019, The Nutcracker in 2019, and both girls got to participate in Momentum Performing Group (MPG) 2020/21 season. When Covid-19 shut everything down, the studio switched to virtual classes and this kept our girls happy and able to dance.
Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to travel with the team as they performed in nationwide competition, held in Arizona. To think that a small town studio from Poulsbo, WA would place in the top 5 nationally says a lot about the level of training and professionalism that the studio instills in its students. When we found out that we were moving cross country unexpectedly at the end of summer, the studio director helped us look for studios near our new home. (oh, and by the way, the new studio here in Connecticut was blown away at the skill level of our girls and were impressed by the training they received from InMotion)
Now that we have moved, one of the things our girls miss the most about Washington is being able to dance at InMotion. They talk about it daily. The studio director, staff, and instructors there have really created something special. They are true treasures in the local community and I hope that we will move back to Poulsbo while our kids are still young so they can dance again at InMotion.

I stepped foot into the doors of InMotion about 4/5 years ago and it immediately felt like a safe place for dancers to grow into who they wanted to be. About 4 years later I decided to make InMotion my home. I believe in this place and its values. After moving to Shanghai from Los Angeles for my professional dance career, I landed myself back here at InMotion. I could not have said yes faster when offered the position to Join the team as a Director of MPG. Your kids receive quality, top notch training from people who have been in the industry for multiple years! They get the coaching that sets them up for success. Any dancer looking to try out a new studio should look no further than here. I have taught at many dance studios around the world and InMotion has always had the best and most spirited and encouraging vibe.

I used to be a student at this horrible studio. If your fine with your child being shamed for there body type go ahead and sign up. I've always been naturally skinny but the fact that grown adults accuse a 14 year old children of having eating disorders makes me sick. This studio shames kids and they completely ruin childrens lives. As a person who has experienced this horrid studio I %1000 percent recommend finding a different studio who appreciates and cares for kids as who they are. If you love your children and don't want them hurt by immature adults look elsewhere.

Wendy G. is spot on with her review of this place. We had the same exact experience she and her daughter had and left too. If you are ok with you and or your child loving the place at first and then having the rug pulled out from under him/her when they get sick of your child or your child is replaced by another kid/family who is prettier and or has more money, then by all means keep your child here. If you also enjoy having an owner of your child's dance studio being completely indifferent to any complaints/concerns a parent might have about any issue that may come up about your child's dance experience, sign your kid up ASAP! OOOOO wait, one more...one more...if your also ok with the owner either not hiring decent dance instructors or getting rid of good ones because she can't handle people knowing more then she does, sign up for this place right now. Btw, most of the positive reviews you find about this place are by family members or parents who refuse to acknowledge that their child is in a very negative situation and or don't have the backbone to leave! For the sake of your child's self esteem and for the sake of finding a place that provides professional dance instruction by trained dance teachers (not someone who is hired because they "really like to dance") and to keep your stress level down, please do your research and find another positive and professional dance studio.

When my daughter decided to start taking dance classes for the first time a little over 3 years ago we did our research, asked around and InMotion Performing Arts Studio was highly recommended. In no time at all we experienced first hand why it is THE place to take dance in all of Kitsap County. The teachers are top notch and I can't say enough about the owner, Chris. She does an amazing job running her business yet taking a very personal interest in every dancer that walks through her door, She truly cares about each and every student. Together with her staff of teachers, they not only teach dance, they instill a strong work ethic, dedication, commitment, accountability and an undeniable sense of family in each dancer. If you want your child to experience more than just dance, but skills that will benefit them far beyond the studio, look no further than InMotion.

My daughter dances here, and absolutely loves it! The instructors are fantastic, pushing her just enough to grow, but done with lots of love. :) The staff and owner are super helpful, always working to make the experience for the children the best it can be. I'm grateful my daughter is learning and growing in an environment that cares about her (more than just as a dancer)!. Thank you.

Every time I step into the In Motion Performing Arts Studio I am surrounded by happy, smiling faces. I absolutely adore Chris and her staff.
Chris has always gone out of her way to make sure that every student is well taken care of while under her care. Chris and her staff truly love each and every student there and strive to help them grow and cultivate their talents. I can't imagine taking my children to ANY other studio...this is where I want my children to grow up and these are the people I want my children to call on as their "Artistic Family".

Dancing at this studio for the past 3 years has been the most fun and hard working time. The staff has always been amazing and is always there to help you grow as not only a dancer but as a person.Dancing at InMotion has given me so many opportunities that not many other places around here can give. There is a instant feeling of family when you are in the studio. We are all friends and are always there to support each other. I am so glad I moved to InMotion
