Karate Edge is a great place for kids to learn many important life skills. Though my son Patrick has recently left Karate Edge, the four years he spent there were invaluable to his personal development, particularly when he first started during the Covid lockdowns. It was a vital outlet for him at that time.
The lessons also helped him a great deal with self confidence, discipline, respect for others, and focus. It taught him that he could accomplish cool things in spite of being a Type 1 diabetic. Perhaps the best example was the difference between how much he struggled at the his first Ninja Campout vs how much fun he had at last year's outing. The difference was night and day.
Thanks for everything and I wish you all the best. We had lots of great times there.
I highly recommend Karate Edge for any parents looking for a positive outlet for their child(s) seemingly boundless energy. Tony Bennest is a great teacher and great person.

My 2 boys have been attending this dojo for over 2 years now. We love the family culture. It has been such a great experience for them and they are learning core values, character development and the ability to defend themselves. We have been so happy with our experience here and truly appreciate the supportive and family friendly environment of this place. I also love that they offer so many different programs for my boys, from Karate classes to their After School Program, Summer Camps, Day Camps and Parent Night Outs. We appreciate having a fun, safe place for our kiddos in this community.

If you are a person of color this is not the place for your child.. I was told some very disturbing things from the summer camp director False allegations were told to me about my child I have a video that I'm considering taken to a lawyer and/or the News I'm not playing with these people I can't believe that we are in 2023 still exercise and discrimination. I was told I was being aggressive and I was not at all. I have the video. I was told the owner reviewed a video from yesterday and she didn't because she is out of town. The lady at the front desk was very disrespectful and definitely tried to provoke me.

Karate Edge is such a great influence to the community and I love watching the instructors work with my kids, the lessons taught are life changing & right now my son really needs to have as many great influences wrapping rheir arms around him as possible. With his mom not doing good things have been rough for him & having karate to look forward to has really sparked something in him that I hope he continues to cherish into his young adulthood.

Joining Karate Edge was the best decision for our son. He is 10 and was struggling with finding something to be passionate about. He doesn’t like organized sports but this is something he loves! This is more than a team, it really feels like family. All of the instructors are great with the kids and they make learning fun. If you are looking for a great experience this is definitely a place you should check out!

My family and I just moved to Milton and we are just getting to know the area.Since COVID-19 we haven’t really been able to get out the house Unless we are going on a trail. My 12 year old son whom is on the spectrum has been fixated on martial art lately. So seeing that karate edge was open I was super excited to enroll my son. I happened to Be picking up a pizza at Pizza Hut and noticed the dojo.
I called while sitting in the parking lot. A really nice lady answered the phone and I saw her step out side as the conversation we on she realized I was sitting out side. I got out my vehicle to talk with her. Let me tell you she had the information I was looking for and she was very helpful. The next day I brought my son to karate edge he got signed up and they offered him a class to start right away!!😏 Wow I was so happy and so was he. The owner is super cool and he was so friendly and gave us even more information About his karate studio. Next week we are signing all his cousins up!! Thank you karate edge for staying open!!

We’ve been coming to Karate Edge for five years. These instructors absolutely love Karate and they love kids. Among the many skills taught, some of the most important are self discipline and focus. The children’s classes progress by age and ability in difficulty of physical demand and in the standard of technique that is upheld. Everything is age appropriate. They will push your child to reach their goals, and celebrate every success. If your child is struggling they will build them up and work with them. Inappropriate behavior is addressed in class. My children have benefited immensely from the Karate Edge’s approach, which teaches self accountability in class, while allowing time for fun games at the end of class. Folks, these aren’t just Karate lessons, they are life skills and this is a community effort.

Karate edge hosted an obstacle course at my son's school on their field day. I was there and waited while my son waited in line of about 15 kids or so. My son came to me crying because the lady (karate edge representative) told him to go to the back of the line for cutting. I asked her what happened and she said some girls said "he wasn't here before" and offered to let him go to the back of the line again. I was there, he did not cut in line. This lady made a 5 year old cry by falsely accusing him. I would never bring my child to this facility.

I found this place through a Groupon. I was able to get both my kids into classes for 10 weeks and i got their gee for a great deal. Deals are always changing so be sure to check Groupon for a deal. The staff was very friendly and made the shy kids come out of their shell.

Don't believe the reviews dated after mine referring to their special needs kid to counter my post. It is obvious what they are doing here. My nephew came to this school for 2 years. He has special needs and was mistreated. Overlooked for tests, called a quitter when my sister took him out because of how the environment is there. Other families left afterwards too. Very cheap car salesman-like atmosphere. The program is bought and nothing about it is authentic or "traditional" Karate. Classes are not structured. It's a lot of fluff. The son who runs it now got his belts from his father who is a convicted felon (stolen valor + lying about martial arts credentials - I recommend searching by last name). My sister regrets bringing her son here because it's been hard to get his self confidence back up and interested in something else. Don't be fooled by the gimics. Do your research, visit other schools in the area. For what you pay, the quality, the time the kids actually do something, it isn't worth it.

A great place. Very welcoming and has been great for my son's self esteem. He has been taught hard work will earn his belts, to accept criticism, and respect goes both directions. He loves this place and we are very happy to have found such a great group of people for him to look up to.

Our family has been training at the Karate Edge for over 7 years. My wife, son, daughter, and I have benefited greatly from the quality training in Shotokan karate as well as the family atmosphere. Every minute with the Karate Edge has been worth it. I earned my probationary black belt last May, and I keep learning and improving with the assistance from all the great people!
The Karate Edge is also very involved in the community. For example, the school is active with the Edgewood Picnic, Milton Days, and the Fife Harvest Festival The school helps out with such fundraising events as collecting school supplies for various local schools, taking Thanksgiving and Christmas donations for those in need for local food banks.
The Karate Edge offers free women's self-defense workshops, cardio kickboxing classes, and summer camps for kids. If you are looking for a great martial arts school with friendly/welcoming people, and active in the community, then the Karate Edge is for you! Stop by today and check us out!

I drive from Auburn to Edgewood to take my daughter to Karate Edge even though there are many dojos closer as they are amazing! The instructors are very patient and helpful when they see the student struggling with any moves. My daughter has always quit programs when she gets frustrated, but with the way the instructors work with her and encourage her, she is still loving it. All other students are super welcoming and help out as well. Instructors make sure to come out and say hi to all parents as well. I cpuld go on and on, but will leave it at this.....Just all around great place and very well priced for classes.

I absolutely love this place. My son started lessons right after he turned 3 years old. The wonderful instructors brought my son out of his shell, built up his confidence, and helped him overcome his social anxiety. He was scared at the start, but kept with it. Now he excited for karate every week and loves to show off his new moves.
This studio doesn't have the strict feel of just being there for a lesson. Everyone is warm and welcoming. They truly care, notice and help when a student is struggling, and are amazing with young children.

Sensei Bennest tailors your karate experience to your age strengths and/ or limitations. My family has been training at the Karate Edge for over 6 years. It has helped our children gain confidence, respect, focus and has developed a goal-setting mindset. For my husband and me it was helped us with physical fitness, confidence, and doing things we never thought we could do. The family atmosphere is another amazing aspect of Karate Edge.

I’ve only done a couple classes here but within those couple hours a day, I felt so much love and respect! As a bigger person, it’s hard to find a place to work out at without judgement BUT everyone here will pause what they’re doing to make sure you catch up! This is a great place to be wether you’re working out or supporting a loved one!! I will continue to go here and encourage anyone else who is looking to change their life to go here too!!

We stumbled upon Karate Edge when they had a booth at a local harvest festival. All the kids swarmed around their booth, feeding off their high-energy fun and board breaking sessions. We just HAD to buy their trial offer and although I was skeptical because of the overly generous price, they didn’t didn’t lack in what they offered! We found home! Each and every session was wonderful and every person we encountered was welcoming and truly humbled that you were there. We’ve experienced their Halloween party - they know how to party! And their Parents Night Out - I’m a person that doesn’t leave my kids with others too often and when I do, I’m so concerned about them I can’t enjoy myself. Not the case with Karate Edge! My kids had an amazing time and continue to ask to go to another one. I felt 100% confident leaving them there knowing they’d be kept safe and engaged.

I have been a part of The Karate Edge for 5+ years now and have appreciated every minute of it! One of the best decisions I’ve made in life is to walk through their front door. It has given me so many opportunities to learn and grow personally and through martial arts. The people here have become a family of mine and have helped shape who I am today. Regular karate class at any age never seems to disappoint and the Kickboxing Edge classes have been an amazing addition to the school. The instructors here consistently strive to make it warm and inviting for everyone who walks through that door. Overall I’m glad it is a place that I can call home.

I’ve been training here for the last 6+ years - as has our ten year old daughter. Our youngest has been doing it for three years now. It’s a great family atmosphere with knowledgeable instructors, supportive peers, and classes seven days a week!
Sensei Tony Bennest has been doing karate for over thirty years, he’s a fifth degree black belt, and has been in business for over a decade. His school has grown to over 300+ students and counting!
Now, I’m a black belt, and I continue to learn, train, and improve. They offer reasonably priced private lessons. There’s also cardio kickboxing in addition to extra classes to improve kata and sparring skills. I’m still learning and improving.
There’s also extra events, seminars, and workshops too if you’re looking to improve more.
In addition to improving physically and mentally as a result of my training, I’ve also developed meaningful friendships and have a greater social circle as a result of meeting so many great people at the dojo.
From a martial arts perspective, Sensei Tony Bennest teaches us a multifaceted approach that includes everything from weapons, empty hand techniques, self defense, kata, sparring, grappling, etc.
All the classes have agendas and a curriculum that the instructors follow. They’re organized! The expectations for each rank are clearly defined and are written down. Testing is fair too.
I’ve had other teachers in the past (having done martial arts multiple times over the years), but no school or teacher was as supportive nor fostered a culture of respect and success like Sensei Bennest has. Sensei Tony is constantly learning and improving his own skills as well as the school curriculum- he practices what he teaches.
As a dad, I can think of no better place for our young daughters to train. I’ve seen what other dojo kids have grown into in terms of their martial arts training, and the people they have become. I know my kids are in good hands. Also, they offer summer camps, birthday parties, and parents nights out which the kids love to go to!
Come on in!
