A good gym, equipment is varied (dumbbells up to 150s) and they’re good about cleaning/maintaining things. There’s a big posing room and a smaller private posing booth if you’re into competing (or just taking selfies). They’ve also started to update some machines since taking over which is nice. (Editing (improving) my review because they’ve made an effort to address the issue of the music being on full blast all the time, which was my only issue.)

I recently got a 7 day pass for KlickWay Athletics and was given a quick tour by Michael one of the trainers. He was very informative and very warm and welcoming. So much so I decided to join. This gym is for ppl who mean business and also need some motivation around. Oh AND the key fob they gave me was just the cutest little Olympic iron 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Love this place and ready for some new gains!!!!!!

I've been going to Klickway (formerly Big Iron) for years now. The gym is great! But I want to focus this review on Eli Echols, a personal trainer at Klickway:

I have been lifting for 5+ years and have had a couple other trainers in the past. Eli is easily the best trainer I've had and has reignited my passion for lifting. He makes training fun but also immensely rewarding. Eli doesn't just train, he teaches with an end goal of self-sufficiency. The workouts are sometimes crippling, but that's perfect for a bodybuilding gym. I cannot say enough positives about Eli and recommend him to anyone who wants to reach their next level or who might be plateauing at the gym!

I live in NE Seattle and commute down to Klickway twice a week to get trained by Kristen. I looked hard for a trainer and spoke to a number of trainers before I landed here with her. She gave me trial session and I was certain it was a match. I was looking for somebody who would help me execute better form, help me build muscle at 46 and push me hard yet respect my bodies capabilities. I also love that she has competitive bodybuilding knowledge and looks at my body with an eye for symmetry. She is amazing and I have seen major gains from her just in 7 weeks. She has programmed workouts for me in an app and even does stretching therapy which has helped an old neck injury as well as loosen up my lower back. The gym itself has great equipment and I prefer it to my usual gym. The vibe there is super relaxed yet people are there to get to work.

Kristen is absolutely incredible. I came in with pain, and within minutes she not only figured out exactly what was going on but helped relieve it on the spot. Her knowledge base is unreal — she has years of experience and a deep understanding of how the body works. She’s also a super friendly approachable trainer!

What really stood out is that she didn’t just treat the issue — she gave me practical homework to keep improving and prevent it from coming back. I’ve also had the chance to see her working with other clients, and it’s clear that everyone she trains is having a great time while also being challenged and pushed to their potential.

Kristen is one of the many bright lights of Klickway (the staff are real rockstars!)— her energy, expertise, and care for people make every visit to the gym better. I can’t recommend her highly enough! Also heard rumor she's starting a mobility class soon- go learn from her and feel better! <3

Compact modern gym in a garage vibe with everything you need and more. Less crowded than a commercial gym forsure and with the new ownership, plenty of updates and renovations. Wayy cleaner now, new equipment, and best gym for 24 hour access in my opinion.

I've been getting worked on by Kristin for various knicks and pains for about a month now. Today, I mentioned that I tore my pec about 4 years ago and had this lump on my right pec where it tore. I figured it was permanent. Kristin assessed it and determined it was just scar tissue and lactic acid. In about 1 minute she got rid of the lump that I've had on my chest for 4 years I was shocked. I've had that lump for 4 years and thought I'd have it for life. I spent the rest of the day feeling where the lump was in disbelief. I couldn't believe that in 1 minute she got rid of the lump I'd been carrying around for 4 years. I highly recommend getting worked on by her.

Great selection of machines. Well priced membership. Good location. Clearly a sincere effort to upgrade the gym.

For constructive feedback:
- constant unannounced partial closures in the gym. Showed up yesterday after a month of renovations and they had a portion of the gym closed off and all the machines cluttered in one area. Didn’t receive an email about this. Previous emails that were sent were very last minute (day of). It’s disruptive and there’s no reason not to communicate.

- the music situation needs to change. It’s often just EDM. Sometimes no music at all. The vibes can be more upbeat, some variety would be nice.

- it’s not very clean, there needs to be more spray bottles, wipes, not just the 2 stations in the gym. The culture around cleaning after you use a machine needs to change. The equipment and mats are unfortunately dirty. The bathroom always smells.

- missing some stuff that would be helpful: like a foam plyomegric box

-not that they can control it per se, but there are a few really loud members that constantly drop their weights/ grunt. It’s super loud and distracting.

One downfall is the lack of parking, hopefully the diamond parking lot out back can be available for gym members for free while at the gym.

This place is a joke—unless you're into being disrespected and thrown out without cause.

After being a paying member, I was abruptly banned from KlickWay Athletics via a snarky email with zero explanation. No warning, no discussion, not even a fake excuse—just a “you’re banned, no refund, don’t come back or it’s trespassing.” Seriously?

The arrogance and unprofessionalism from management, especially from someone calling himself a “Managing Partner,” is mind-blowing. Apparently, customer service here means ghosting you and then acting like a petty security guard in a bad movie.

This place is run like a frat house with a corporate email signature.

I Appreciate that professional response. It’s going to ad a lot of spice to this lawsuit im in the process of filing against Kickway Athletics LLC :)

Paid $7,644. Gym Changed Ownership. Service disrupted. No Refund. And Their “Solution”? Pay Them More.

I paid $7,644 upfront for 6 months of personal training at Big Iron Gym South Lake Union, based on a direct agreement with the previous trainer. Just a few weeks after starting, the gym changed ownership without any warning and the previous trainers were fired.

I filed a chargeback and stopped using the sessions while the dispute was under review. I also have written proof from the original trainer that sessions would be extended when I was out of country — a major reason I agreed to prepay. Despite this, the new owners refused to extend my training, even though I did not use 4 full months of service.

And now, here’s the real kicker:
To “resolve” the fact that I paid thousands for unused service, they asked me to pay for a brand-new plan — and in return, they’d give me one free session per week during the new paid plan.

Yes, you read that right. Their response to me losing over $4700 in unused value was:
“Pay us again, and we’ll throw you a bone.”

This isn’t just a customer service failure. It’s a complete lack of ethics. No business should operate like this.

If you’re thinking about training here, ask yourself:
What happens if your trainer leaves next week? What if the gym gets sold again?
Will your thousands go down the drain like mine did?

Don’t just read the contract — ask what happens when things change. Because they will. And they did.

Edit: The owner came up to me personally and apologized for my inconvenience. Really great effort to keep improving the gym and culture. Appreciative enough to change my review to 5/5. It’s a little rough around the edges but that’s part of the charm

I want so badly to like this gym but time after time I am frustrated with what I see. Today there was a staff member that brought in their unleashed dog and let it roam freely around the gym. It consistently got in my way and at one point I almost set my weights on it. This isn’t the first time a staff member has brought in their dog and let it roam around either. It happens consistently and consequently the gym is covered in dog hair. I even find it in my bag at home and I don’t own any pets

I have never seen the front desk staff clean anything and it shows with dirt and chalk everywhere. Don’t wear any nice close because there is a layer of caked dirt on every bench

The cherry on top is the crooked dumbbells and the fact that all 45lbs plates are different weights (they even have it written on the plates that they weigh 48lbs or even as low as 41lbs)

The culture of this gym wants to be good and I see the intent but the disgusting facilities and lazy staff make it impossible.

I just moved to downtown Seattle from another state and have been having trouble finding a true bodybuilding gym with all the equipment I knew from back home. I’m used to sprawling, big-box gyms with dumbbells that go up to 150lbs and a plethora of equipment. Big Iron is the only gym around that meets my needs, and that’s after trying a half-dozen gyms in the area. The culture in Seattle seems to lean towards CrossFit-esque/boutique-styled class gyms. Never having enjoyed that style of training, Big Iron is the one shining star I’ve found in my search across the city. Dumbbells hit the 150 mark, the gym is 24-hour controlled access, and it hasn’t ever been insanely crowded.

As a plus, the staff were very welcoming the minute I set foot in the gym. Nat showed me around and explained each piece of equipment available to members. He set me up with a complimentary day pass and I was sold.

In initial email communications, Laura was very quick to respond and let me know I could come in at any time during staffed hours.

Overall, very positive impression, and I figure this will finally be the gym I stick with for the foreseeable future.

Would highly recommend this gym to everyone! This facility
Is geared towards heavy lifters, but still has all the equipment and space for functional fitness. Friendly staff and the owners are great people! One of my main issues with commercial gyms is the cancellation process. Most gyms make cancelling your membership a nightmare. I unfortunately had to cancel my membership at big iron, but Jaime and Laura (the owners) made it easy and painless! Will definitely be back again when I can!

Had a disappointing and an inconvenient experience. Joined the first month asking TJ to sign me up for only a month. Which worked fine. After few days after my membership ran out, i went to signup for another month, when i tried to get in, as expected there was no access. I called gym personnel to let me in and signed up for another month. Now, after 4 months i get emails blackmailing for 4 month worth of membership charges, if not they will send to collection. They state that one need to submit a cancellation form with a 30-day notice period, but they withdrew access for me without submitting any form after the first month, but continued to bill me for all coming months. This is a an unconventional method. When you usually sign up on a recurring monthly payment, the vendor charges u once every month and provide u with service (whether or not u have used it). The reason why u were not able to charge my card was because i never signed up for a monthly once recurring billing.

Now, the way the management asks is that, i come to the gym every 30 days and enter my card info and pay for the next 30 days or submit a cancellation form, but we (the gym) will withdraw access until u pay or submit a form, and blackmail you that we will send bills to collection after billing u for many months. The meaning of Recurring monthly billing is that "Customers grant permission for both storing the card info and executing the charge once every month on a recurring basis without any involvement of the customer in any manner" until the customer manually requests for a cancellation. Here, i clearly never permitted the gym to store my card details nor did they get any permission from me to automatically charge me, hence they could not do so.

To the gym management, First u need to understand how monthly recurring billing works and then get your policies and payment/access handling right and in-par with other vendors, only then can you expect ur gym members to understand it clearly and honor that.

Seattle is really not known for its gym culture and I think Big Iron Gym in Seattle is trying to change that. It gives off old school muscle dungeon vibes the likes of Lou Ferrigno, Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman would feel right at home in. I was amazed at the number of machines that I had no idea even existed. Some are a bit on the older side but honestly that makes them better in my mind because modern gym equipment you'd see at health spas just doesn't cut it. This is an amazing bodybuilder gym and being open 24/7 is basically unheard of in this area so it can't be beat. I highly recommend at least checking it out and see if you like it. First time in was free for me. Also the music choice was top notch, having gone to big health spa gyms for the last two years if I hear one more top 20 pop song I think I was going to lose it.

This is the environment we all have been looking for. Has a wide variety of specialty machines that you won’t see in most gyms and high quality barbells. Also, very good lighting and plenty of mirrors to check out the sick pump. Besides the facility the environment and community is great. It’s a great place to learn and network with others. Especially if you’re working on a brand this is the place to start as the owner and his team has access to a wide range of people, athletes such as IFBB pros, and fitness influencers. Also, if you’re new into fitness they have coaches that can help guide you on that journey based on your needs this also includes nutrition. This place is more than just a gym.
