My friend and I have always been going to this location peacefully and we love the staffs out there. Tonight, we’re terribly disappointed with whoever at the front desk tonight around 9pm. My friend was looked down and was told in a rude and aggressive way to rescan the guest pass for me just because he scanned his own code twice accidentally. But he peacefully responded to him. However, my face could not hide that I was so pissed off by that scenario though I didn’t say anything and moved on. That person yelled at me from the back like “WHAT” with angry face by the time we are about to forget that rude and aggressive thing we didn’t deserve to experience. I’d not name myself as too emotional but the reaction I got was too intense and scary not to let it slide. We stepped out immediately because we didn’t go there to be treated aggressively in words and actions, but just to do some consistent workout together. Are the staffs allowed to treat the members out of respect and dignity in this situation? Please, the owner, let me know your thoughts. 🙏🏼

Staff didn't explain the annual fee that is due 2 weeks after signup so I was hit with a surprise charge of over $120 (2 members) that was very frustrating. Customer service seemed very unhelpful and unknowledgeable on their own agreements. If you're looking for a new gym I would recommend looking somewhere else.

Staff is horrible and rude- Whoever the manager is at Covington location is rude and inconsiderate. I've gone to this location for YEARS and never had an issue till speaking with this lady. I applied for Pilates and never went into a single class due to becoming pregnant within the last few months. I continued to pay the $108/month for I believe 2-3 months which is fine because I never made it a priority to cancel it myself. I have recently called them a total of 4 times to cancel my pilates membership BEFORE the next monthly payment and they failed to answer or get back to me. First call, no answer. Second and third call, I had a lady at the front desk take my number down and tell me someone would reach back out to me- not one single call back. Fourth call, I got ahold of the manager and she was nothing but rude and had a stuck up attitude by saying "Well, I'm the manager and I was willing to help you but you can either cancel it online or go into an LA Fitness location now"- all because I asked her why I had to pay the monthly payment when they are the ones who failed to reach back out to me. Again, I have gone to this location for years, disregarding the last few months, and have never had an issue. I've always made all my payments on time and don't complain about anything so to talk to someone who has the attitude of a teenager is crazy to me. I was also calling to pause my actual gym membership because 1 I'm pregnant and truthfully do not have the energy or time to go currently and 2 I'm currently going through a bankruptcy case so it only made sense to pause the membership until I was ready to return. Which I was fully set on returning to the Covington location as me AND my boyfriend both go regularly- but by the sound of the manager, she couldn't care less on our satisfaction or if we return or not. Horrible way of handling things.

This is the biggest scam ever. I needed to cancel my membership so I went in August 8th. The kid at the counter took my information and stated I’d receive an email with my cancelation…great. By next billing cycle was August 26th. I confirmed that no other payment would need to be payed. They confirmed. August 26th I was billed again. To my surprise I called again and there was no note on my account about canceling. I went in again to cancel. They gave me a notice about it being canceled and I requested a refund for the payment taken on August 26th. A week later…no refund. I called and had to walk them through everything and they even tried to gaslight me and say the first kid informed me it was put on pause. Not true. Just attempted another call and they have no clue about a refund. They are just in the business of taking money. It’s a joke, you’ll never see your money again and will continue to gaslight people. My suggestion to them is to hire competent people as this has been the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. I will be contacting corporate.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this fitness club. The price listed online was completely different from what I was told when I went inside, which felt misleading. On top of that, the customer service was unfriendly and unhelpful, making the whole experience frustrating. Transparency and good service are very important, and unfortunately, this place fell short in both areas. I would not recommend it.

Buyer beware. As you can see from other comments their marketing of their training is very deceptive. What they tell you verbally is not what you're signing up for. What I signed up for said 12 months on the contract and I looked at Joe and said I can only use training for about 1 month and he said don't worry we make all contracts 12 months, but you are able to cancel at any time. A complete and utter lie and I see lots of other people listing LA Fitness as a company that has a bad track record regarding deceptive advertising. Run, don't walk.

I had an 8:00 AM reservation and drove a long way to get here. They gave us Court 1, which was apparently closed — no notice, no update, nothing. Every time I come to this location, something is broken. Either the water isn’t working, or the sauna is out of order. This place is a joke. Don’t waste your money.

This gym is a complete mess and a waste of money. I booked the racquetball court (Court 1) for 8:00 AM and when I showed up, I was told it no longer exists and has been turned into a pilates studio. This isn’t even the first time. Almost every time I come here, something is broken. The sauna doesn’t work, there’s no hot water, and the hot tub (sıcak su havuzu) is constantly out of order. Last time, my pregnant wife was using the swimming pool and a group of 4-5 kids kept jumping around and disturbing her. (Eşim hamile, yüzme havuzunda yüzmeye çalışırken 4-5 çocuk yanına zıplayarak havuza atladı.) Jumping into the pool is supposed to be against the rules, but no one from the staff did anything.

This place is seriously overpriced for how badly it’s run. Zero management, zero accountability. So many people are complaining but nothing ever changes. If you care about your time and money, stay far away from this gym.

unfortunately this gym has changed for the worse over the years. Where once it was clean and organized, it is now dirty, rundown, smelly, and there is always multiple machines broken. Where once the staff was friendly, most of them are now rude, condescending, walking around ego flexing, throwing footballs around the desk area, and talking crap about members. none of them look like they actually want to be at work doing their job. meanwhile, the dumbbell rack is a total mess, the weight room is disorganized, and people just do whatever with no gym etiquette whatsoever.

Then of course there is the bathroom/locker room which many of us refer to as Satan's arm pit. Half the members of the gym do not know what deodorant or hygiene is. On top of that, there is no ventilation so being in the bathroom is like being in a steam room full of poop. It is awful. There is a poop smear on the wall that has been there for months and no one has bothered to clean it.

If you can, go to a different gym. Unfortunately this is the only one in range for the time I have. LA Fitness used to be great years ago, now they just don't care.

LA Fitness really needs to upgrade their machines and workout equipment — it feels like we’re stuck in the early 2000s. Being 25 years behind in equipment quality while charging $50 for single club access is ridiculous, especially in this economy. I’ve been to gyms in the Mountain States and the Midwest that offer much better value, with modern equipment and all amenities included for just $10. On top of that, they don’t even honor the one-day free pass unless you pay for it — which makes no sense since it’s supposed to be free in all states. The customer service definitely needs improvement too. LA Fitness could learn a lot from Vasa Fitness when it comes to pricing, equipment, and treating customers better.

If you like to be lied to, suckered into long term contracts and have no way of getting out of them, LA Fitness is the best place for you.
When looking for personal training, I signed up at this gym. The memberships manager, Wylder, told me the only option available for a year which I later found out they have a 6-month contract as well. He also said I can pause my sessions any time if I can’t make it for a month or so which was another lie. If you have to travel or have an emergency, they’ll still charge you. Their system to keep track of your sessions is absolutely garbage. Often times I would show up for my “scheduled sessions” and the trainer would tell me that I didn’t have any sessions left to use even if it was a day after my monthly payments to them. When I informed them of my upcoming move to a state that doesn’t even have a LA Fitness location, they asked for a utility bill which I provided and they still denied it. If you ever find yourself in a fake, deceiving, and totally a lie contract with these guys, do yourself a favor and block them on your card. Otherwise they’ll continue taking advantage of you.

This branch is not YMCA so much kids come to this branch. This branch got renovated 5 years ago, but since then it got neglected and filthy. Mens bathroom is dirty and smells, Men's sauna is not washed since renovation and the heater is still broken for a month in a half, the pool area has mold growing because the ventilation is not working for more then a month, the jacuzzi is not working for half a year WHAT AM I PAYING $50+$50 FOR. I've been here for almost a decade, used to be a very nice club. Right now... It's falling apart. Broken spa for half a year and broken sauna for months. What do people pay for? Employees are not professional lounging on the job. No body cleans the locker area, bathroom, or even the sauna. It's sad that the customers had to clean the sauna because it hasn't been cleaned for years. It's a health hazard and should be reported to OSHA or something. Unbelievable. It doesn't take much to address these issues.

The pool area is disgusting because mold is spreading where there is condensation on walls and ceiling. Paint and the wallpaper are falling off. Lockers have no AC and are very warm. Also the employees are very unprofessional.

It would be nice for the Owner to respond to these reviews. Only one response. The repairs needed are safety concerns. The sanitation is lacking. The restrooms and pool deck need to be sanitized with a spary foamer not mop and broom. Drain Flys need to be treated drains treated. The pool entrance has smelled like pee for days. Pros:

Gym is clean and there is ample space for different workouts including weights, cardio and classes.

The parking is spacious.

Cons:

Cardio equipment is either broken or very old and not monitoring anything useful. Unsure why they do not upgrade section by section.

Weights are very unorganized.

I think they might be able to restructure this gym for better usage of the space. I feel that some locations are packed while some are not. I think the W Seattle branch is much smaller but it has been structured way better, feeling cozy.

Lastly nor equipment has screen neither TVs are good. Probably the oldest LCD you can find in the market.

After almost 3 years of loyal subscription to LA. My membership was finally revoked for nothing more than an excuse to squeeze more money. After one of their representatives gave up on trying to sell me on an upgraded membership with personal training that I didn't want. They began treating me disrespect and accusing them of disrespecting staff, when I was nothing but reasonable and level with them. They constantly tried to scam me out of more money and finally today after I renewed my subscription to give it a second shot, one of the regular employees escorted me out all of the sudden and said he'd cancel my subscription. Even though I paid for my renewal that day. When I asked for a refund or his manager he got assertive and raised his tone, insisting I leave. I felt intimated and left. I can't even afford to my bills this week because of the lost money due to the renewal. I was really counting on giving your gym a second chance, but now all I want is a refund and an apology. It's insane the way such a big company hides behind lies to make more money.

This may be one of the most disorganized gyms in the country. There is no organization with their dumbbells. Often, you will find random ones stashed throughout the gym. Their attachments are mostly broken or in serious need of maintenance. The only perk of this gym is the morning cleaning staff. The locker rooms are insanely clean and in a constant state of maintenance to ensure a great experience.

The equipment is very outdated and old. Some of the machines have broken seats. There are no fans to cool down the upstairs where the treadmills are located. The pool is very small. There is no designated area for stretching. You are required to bring your own lock for the lockers. There are very few classes offered, and some days, there are no classes. - smaller location: 3 squat racks (Kent has 6)
- no steam room
- too busy after 4pm, everyone seems to have guest pass privileges and brings a whole posse.
- treadmills and spa seem to frequently have maintenance issues
- price. I think I pay $35 a month with no guest pass, and $100 ish yearly fee.
- there’s kids that use equipment
- the water here is horribly chlorinated
- often run out of sanitizing wipes and don’t replace them.

Recommendations:
Make the racquetball courts digitally reservable (like an office meeting room).

In the app, add like a little 2 min information example video of each class being offered.

Adductor/abductor machines and the bent over booty thing should be moved so they’re facing a wall. I feel exposed that they face the most trafficked areas of the gym.

Put an age limit on who can come in and use equipment. Why are there 10 year olds taking up equipment while the dad works out in a different part of the gym? Lol.

I went at 5am with 3day guest pass to try out the gym, however, I couldn’t workout because they had no sales team member to activate the pass and it has to be done at 8am.
So, giving them 1 start because-
1. This information should have mentioned on the guest pass, so it saved me early morning disappointment and time waste.
2. 8 am is not really gonna work as working people don’t have luxury to be in gym at 8am on weekdays, so they really need work on their policies/timings/methods to provide better service to their customers.
3. The receptionist should have a way of handling such cases, as in take pass id, drivers license infor and activate the pass later. Should atleast people try out the gym who are showing up at 5am.

We are members and love being able to have a gym close by. Our special needs son also comes with us and is a huge basketball player. I love being able to take him and he can do what he loves. However, the basketball court has only one hoop and it's sad that no one can ever just shoot hoops as there is always some game going on on the other. Can this please be taken care of as it's been several weeks and since the Kent one closed, it should be an easy fix. Thank you.

The gym is fine but there is an overwhelming amount of car breakins at all times of day.m even in broad daylight. I don’t understand why the staff cant see these happening and call the police. Good: Newer cardio equipment overall compared to the other surrounding clubs and they have a juice/smoothie bar. Bathroom stalls were clean and one of the more spacious clubs.

Bad: the pool area should be condemned, the paint was literally peeling from the walls due to high condensation from the poor circulation, mold everywhere, rust in the pool, jacuzzi jets doesn't work and water looked murky. Did I mention water was dripping from the ceiling in the pool area and hit me on the head? The woman shower area was not clean. Came for the water aerobics class and left and immediately check my medical history to see when the last time I received a tetanus shot.

There are three LA Fitness locations within 4 miles of our house, and this is the best. They have a juice/coffee bar, a real treat after a good workout.

The woman's locker room is clean with plenty of lockers and a dry sauna within the locker room. The sauna is spacious, too.

This location has tons of machines, nearly all in working condition. The weight area also boasts lots of variety.

I wish management would fix the spa in the pool area. This one issue nearly drops my 5 star rating, but overall, this LA Fitness location shines.

On 05 Dec 2023, at 0937 hours, the female receptionist refused to give me the contact information of her manager, proceeded to tell me that she had the right to refuse service to anyone for any reasons, and that I was therefore trespassing, then called the cops on me. There was a good receptionist present, but he was too scared of her to give me anything more than quiet support.

This happened within the span of about 3 minutes. I was trying to find out why the sauna was broken, and was suggesting better signage to explain why the sauna was broken. There wasn't even an out of order sign - I had to find out it was broken by trying to turn it on and going inside 30 minutes later.

Had that receptionist given me the contact info of her boss, this would be between me and them. However, she made it difficult to escalate this issue, so I'm writing a review instead. Now her bosses boss gets to ask her boss why a year-long patron is giving a 0/5 review due to a receptionist.

I have been to few LA fitness around the area and so far this one in Covington has the employee with bad attitude. They PERSONALLY open the pool and spa for these girls when it was supposed to be closed and “under maintenance”.
The front desk lady said “They weren’t supposed to be there.” When I asked them. I can’t even go inside the pool and spa place because it was LOCKED. Absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself and go to the one in Kent or Auburn instead.

The choice I was looking for is minus zero but I had to pick 1 star. For a 1 day pass (I I only used 1 hour) they charged me $20.00 close to a full month price. The customer service is horrible and I am still waiting for a call back from the manager.

I have no problems with my trainer Sharon she does a wonderful. Seems she is the only one that really works. But your front office managers and receptionist never call back or answer questions correctly. They never solve problems. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO BAD CAUSE ITS A NICE GYM

Overall a great place to workout. Very clean and sanitized. All equipments are well maintained too. Lot of space inside with sections for each workouts. Amenities are pretty good too - Pool, Basketball court, squash courts, dance hall, bike classes , smoothie shop and kids play area. The dance hall is pretty amazing as I see a lot of different activities there - dance, ground exercises, yoga, couples exercise, filming routines/physique etc. Pretty safe neighborhood also. Overall a great place to be part of your health journey .

Had a bad time at another la fitness and wanted to give it another shot since this facility is a little closer to my house. First time at this facility so to speak. The front desk guy was nice, I said I would like to demo a day to see if I like this gym. He tried to charge me $20 for the day, which I said usually you can do a day pass. He wasnt too sure and I can wait. Had to sit and wait 30 minutes to talk to a sales lead to do a demo of the gym, who then also wanted me to pay $20 to try the gym out for the day. Tried to give the franchise another shot but didnt feel like this was the customer service to start out with

I enjoy doing the aqua pool class at La for thr instructor is Great but the pool actually was so cold today it took a lot if our breaths away that it made it very hard to even get in.

Seems like week after week there's such a different temp In pool that it makes it hard to come back for last time they were working on the sauna which is where we like to relax after so it's not as good a place to go as it used to be. I have heard other gyms including the Y are better and a lot warmer.

We like this location. It can get busy in the evenings, but most people are curtious & kind as you work out. I've never gotten weirded out by anyone as most people seem focused on working out. I've seen multiple people dancing too, which I absolutely love.

Greatest gym, all types of training with the best atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. When you walk in, your mood will switch to training, try it once and you’ll find the difference.

Love being back the gym! However, not everyone is wearing masks, even though the front desk employees tell you too along with clearly posted signage. There no accountability for those her aren't. Employees nor managers are correcting this behavior and that to me is a problem. We just got to start coming back without reservations, but of course there's are always people who think the rules don't apply to them, but will be the first to cry about getting covid-19 and cause everything to shut down again. So LA please address the customers who aren't following the rules, hanging out in large groups at the front desk chatting isn't really doing everything we can to help stop the spread. Customers of LA..... we need to do our part and follow the rules keep your mask on, if not for others do it for yourselves and your families!

Been going here for a minute went from 240 to 165...yeah the weights might be mixed up but they are some of the most helpful and caring workers at a gym. I've been to tons of gyms but they are never as nice and helpful as the Covington LA. Special shout-out to Tito and Puja for being especially helpful when I had account problems they were super helpful and always a pleasure to see before a workout. I absolutely love coming here! During the day, it gets very full, but I prefer to go in the mornings or at night, when it's much less full. The staff are very friendly, and so are the people there. It's clean and looks nice.

Details: The Covington LA Fitness has two floors, the bottom one is mostly just weights. On the bottom floor, there's also 4 or 5 rooms where people can use for activities I don't know about. I've seen them used for tennis. There's also a basketball court that is pretty big. And on the bottom floor, in a seperate part of the same building, there's a pool, sauna, and showers. And upstairs, there's treadmills and other cardio machines, a cycling room, and a yoga room.

The gym looks nice! I was in town for a week visiting family and asked if they had a week pass I could buy since I was out of town visiting. They said they could help and once I showed them my out of state ID they said they couldn't help me and I'd have to buy a daily pass for 20 dollars each day. The monthly membership is 47 dollars a month. I'm all for paying for a service but when the daily rate is nearly half the monthly membership rate. Talk about not being friendly to people visiting.
