So yesterday I was interested in going to the Gym and getting into the LA Fitness on Aurora. SCRATCH THAT! It is absolutely poorly made and constructed in so many ways. I went into the place after school and said "Hey, I'm new. I've never been to a gym. I was wondering how I'd get into like a personal training program if you have any" Of course they were very nice about it because I was new and had no idea about all the bad things in the the place. So they were very nice and brought Colin out immediately.

Yesterday I went there and I was helped by 2 nice gentlemen. Colin and this other man. Colin gave me a tour around the place and showed me cool amenities. All the fun stuff you'd tell a up-coming client right?

The other man who is very knowledged in training helped me with getting me on track to start on a Personal Training program. We talked about my goals and what I'd like to achieve. The nutrition and more. Once I left, Colin said I could come back tomorrow or text him tonight to start with a membership. AKA get my credit card data and banking route number.

This morning at 9am I decided to look at the Google Reviews on this place. And there were so many bad ones. I was going to confront them today but I didn't feel like it as I had better things to do. Colin consistently texted me today and yesterday if I was going to come in soon. I appreciated the urgency but that was suspicious to me, which led me to look at the Google Reviews and the Yelp Reviews. As you'd see there are tons of Google Reviews and tons of 1 star ratings. My final decision was to not continue searching my gym journey at the LA Fitness on Aurora.

I texted him "Hey Colin! I've done tons of research on the LA Fitness in Aurora and it seems there are tons of bad reviews. All based on
1. Disrespectful staff
2. Inadequate pool times
3. Lying to 2 clients about the training program
4. Cleaning of equipments are none
+ more.
I unfortunately will not be continuing my search in LA Fitness. I appreciate and thank you for your time!"

In all of this, you'd think he'd be nice about it but he made one comment that really blew my mind. "Sounds more like an excuse but thats alright". How interesting. And really shows a person and there other side than being nice and understanding.

If you're exploring membership there, I wish you the best. Be sure to read the reviews thoroughly and evaluate the pros and cons. Some reviewers mention strong reactions when members change their minds, so factor that into your decision.

Really bad experience with a staff i went to the gym at 9:00pm he really rude said i shouldn’t go because he was going to close at 9:30 í still when i was is the mens room when i heard he was yellin at some girls he was really rude to them, they were changing clothes and he keep telling then the had to leave rigth now, i heard the girl saying she was coming she was changin,
He also say he would call the police and ice bacause they was still there.
He shouldn’t be saying or acting like that he is a grown man and the ladys just was getting change.
He is a GROWN “MAN” he definily has a mental issue.
This Needs to be fix. Workers can be threating people like this.
And they were just girls.

Today, October 10 at 10 at night we were leaving the gym when a worker entered the bathroom to yell at us because we should leave now, this person yelled at us and insulted us aggressively, while my partner and I were in a towel, we told him that he shouldn't yell at us or treat us that way because we paid to be there, he didn't care and kept yelling at us, then we went out to leave and at the counter he kept yelling at us and saying that he had to go to sleep, we are aware that it was 10:06 but it was not the way to yell at us or talk to us, we felt discriminated against and vulnerable when we saw how aggressive this person was when we took out our cell phones to record he calmed down completely and said that we could not record and that he was going to call the police because we were not leaving, we left the place scared, there were other people telling us that he witnessed everything and saw

I’ve been a member at LA Fitness and overall, the facilities are good, but I need to share my experience with customer service. There is one front desk staff member (I don’t know her name, but she’s usually there between 11 AM and 4 PM) who repeatedly asks me, in a rude and dismissive way, to download the app for check-in. I understand the app may be helpful, but members should also be able to check in with their phone numbers without being pressured or disrespected.

The gym should be a place to relieve stress, not add to it. I’ve tried to stay calm, but the constant disrespect has made me reconsider my membership. We pay for this service, and customer care should reflect that. I hope management takes this seriously, because one staff member’s behavior can truly impact how customers feel about the whole business.

Worst L.A. fitness in the Seattle area and if I could go lower than 1 star I would. Lockerooms are gross and have seen cockroaches running around. The sauna has not been working correctly for 6 months and now it’s been completely closed for 2 months. The sauna is the main reason I go to this gym cause I can get a workout at any other gym with weights. Hopefully they can get it together but I doubt it. Also do not sign up for personal training. It’s a rip off! Total scam

7:55 pm 08/31/25: girl in the burgundy hoodie is very rude she tries to close the gym before closing time and she is very rude when she addresses members. Even when u walk in an hour before closing employees always remind you they’re gonna close which I know of already because the hours are posted online..Another lady even complained to me that she was rude to her before. She seems to not like working here so maybe she should get another job it’s retail of course there’s gonna be some people here right before closing time but it’s not like they’re here 10-15 minutes after closing time…trust me I know this because I used to work retail but I never came to work with a bad attitude.

Colin the manager agreed to stop contacting me, then sent me multiple texts and kept calling me. They do not respect data deletion laws. Only sign up if you want to be harassed for weeks.

It smells so bad and there’s trash all over the floor. There are often friend groups who crowd around machines without using them. People need third spaces, but hanging around a piece of equipment without using it for 20 minutes just makes the gym more crowded. Multiple employees sit together chatting but I never see anyone cleaning. There are not enough wipes stationed throughout the gym so most people don’t bother wiping down equipment. Best to find another gym where you don’t risk getting a staph infection and you can actually use a machine within a reasonable amount of time

Good gym.

Seems like there's children running around unchecked while their parents trail behind, the parents will be by the locker room while the child is nearly to the front door.

The weight lifting area is always crowded and the cardio area has barely any people. They should get rid of some of the cardio machines and add more weight lifting things.

There also needs to be more parking. Depending on the time of day, sometimes one has to park super far away.

Hand weights, etc are never organized and where they need to be. They should hire someone to make sure those items are always organized.

The Iso Lateral high row is coming out of the floor and is not properly bolted down. So the entire machine moves when you're lifting.

Some of the cable machines are in poor shape; pullies, weight increments are broken, etc.

Horrible service for clients. They don’t care about you at all. The front desk was busy helping an elderly man so I flashed my membership card as I greeted the workers and continued to enter. I was reminded to make sure to “beep in” when entering, so I apologized and beeped, then attempted to continue into the gym. This is when I triggered Amanda’s power trip. Some white lady, apparently the LA fitness VP starts following me into the gym asking me, “Do you usually check in?” I said yes and continued. She said I was not allowed to walk past her and she was canceling my account. The irony is I have been trying to cancel for months but they only let you cancel at specific locations and times. Horrible business practice. Amanda please get help, you are angry at your father, not me.

Great facility…. But the people who work there are idiots. Tried to cancel my membership a month ago because I was moving in an area where there’s no LA fitness. The lady told me my membership was canceled and I wouldn’t be charged anymore. Then as soon as I move the next month I get charged and I look at my status and it still says I have an active account even though they told me it would be canceled. I then called to have them cancel it for me over the phone and they said I had to come in person to cancel, but I have already moved. They then told me I could cancel it online and after looking it up, they straight up lied to my face about it because you cannot cancel online at all. Please have your managers contact me. This is ridiculous and feels like a straight up scam. Nice gym with good equipment, but the people who work there need more training and need to stop lying to their customers and just be truthful about not knowing something that they are talking about.

I've been a member since 2018 and this is definitely my favorite location. The front desk is always pleasant, the facility is spotless thanks to Manuel and crew but I mostly come for the Zumba classes and the friends I've made( instructors and other members). Every instructor has their own style and flair so it's always interesting and challenging. I recently started going to Yuko's class on Friday at 8:30 and it has turned into the highlight of my week. She's already attained rock star status thanks to her energy,choreo and music. What a incredible addition to LA Fitness evidenced by a packed house every Friday.

This is the closest gym to my place, and I was excited to switch from Planet Fitness to here—but honestly, it’s been a bit disappointing. People stay on the machines forever, and there are often kids just chatting on the power squat racks. The layout also feels pretty chaotic, though that might just be a personal preference. Looking forward to moving and finding a new location that fits better next year.

Always late for opening. People tend to workout in the morning, because they want to get their workout completed for the day before work. The front desk person is repeatedly late. They should schedule someone that is going to be on time. It’s ridiculous seeing people waiting around time after time. In addition, the gym is always so cluttered. Nothing is ever put where it belongs. I spend more time looking for equipment than I do my workout.

Decent, suburban LA Fitness.

👍Very clean and they seem to stay on top of it.
👍 Lots of equipment
👍 Plenty of parking
👍 Regulars and staff are very friendly (based on my 5 am visits).
👎 Equipment ends up all over the place and not returned. This is largely a member issue (gym etiquette people) but the staff could also help by putting it back more frequently.

If you are coming to this gym to swim, don’t bother. Go literally anywhere else. They contract with a company that does kids lessons which takes one of their three lanes. When I toured the guy who signed me up tried to tell me that they were only using that lane sometimes, which is a straight up lie. They are there most of the day for 6 days a week. Again if you are hoping to get consistent pool time I suggest looking elsewhere.

Gym is really nice however the basketball court needs some maintenance. The rims in the basketball court need to be tightened. There is SO MUCH MOLD on the walls inside the court and the air circulation inside the basketball court is so bad that the floor becomes very slippery to the side closest to the wall. This becomes very dangerous when playing pick-up basketball as many of us slip during games and could result in injuries. We have expressed some of these concerns to staff but unfortunately there hasn't been much done :(

Update: SAME ISSUE no changes 6 months later. I saw three guys take weights out of the weight room and drop them up stairs in the cardio room then leave them there. The guys who left these medicine balls, why couldn’t you put them away?? What is it going to take to get people to put their weights away? Public shaming? Just clean up after yourselves. My workout shouldn’t be cleaning up after you because you leave all the equipment everywhere but where it goes! Honestly so entitled. The absolute most filthy gym I’ve ever been to! Weights are left all over the floor. I can never find two of the same in the weight rack where they should be. Weight tripping hazards everywhere. This gym is poorly maintained which makes it difficult to use.

I like the gym and the crowed that is overall friendly. It is a gym. It is not going to be perfect. It gets crowded, yes it can be hard at time to find 2 matching weights. Some folks are better when it comes to cleaning after themselves than others. And yet I enjoy my workout and spend 3-4 times a week and can make it work with all the imperfections.

Edit: My review has been up for several weeks now, without any response and without any change to the gym. I see that the staff responds only to positive google reviews, and they have responded to at least one such review since I posted my negative review. I wanted to give the staff a chance to improve, but my impression now is that they don't care. I feel I have no choice but to contact LA Fitness corporate and let them know how poorly run this gym is.

Original review from September 24th, 2024:
I have never seen your staff clean up and as a result the weights are scattered everywhere. We can never find a matching set of a dumbbells and the dumbbells are never in the correct place. Kettlebells are scattered all over the gym as well. There are plates sitting on the floor in every place imaginable. I've been going to this gym for a long time and it has become messier over time. I walked in yesterday and saw on of your employees sitting at this desk with their phone propped up on the desk, watching videos on it. This person needs to get up and re-rack some of the hundreds of weights that have been thrown about. Your trainers' area is the messiest area of all. There is an area with a sign designating it for trainer use only and it is a complete mess. Please show some pride in your work and clean up the place. Your trainers don't even use the training area anymore and have abandoned it in favor of using the newer space with the green floor and sleds. You need to make a schedule for each shift so that every hour, on the hour, one team member is designated to spend 5 minutes re-racking weights. If you did this for only a few days, the place would be completely clean and organized and it would stay that way with minimal effort.

Furthermore, the hot tub has a lift meant to lower and lift paralyzed individuals in the tub. This lift is the rustiest and most disgusting thing have ever seen. If you lower that disgusting thing into the hot tub, I guarantee people will want to get out and that will make the paralyzed person who is using it feel like a pariah. The bars that hold the lift together are so rusty and I bet it will break if you try to use it and people will get injured. On the other side of the hot tub is a stand-up changing tent. The tent itself is blue in color but the bottom of it is brown because it's always wet so it's completely covered in mold/mildew at this point. Yet another piece of equipment that you don't clean.

Seriously. Please have your staff spend just a few minutes a day cleaning and organizing the equipment instead of standing around. Show pride in your work.

I am cancelling my membership. In the sauna women routinely sit fully clothed wearing sneakers, socks, polyester gym clothes, hooded sweater, over-ear headphones, product in their hair, full make up. There need to be rules posted and enforced. I am sitting there in a towel, inhaling steamed sneakers and plastic. Also, they all have their phones out, which is not appropriate in a space where there are others who are naked or in a towel. In addition, often they don't turn the volume off on their phones; they're flipping through TikTok videos and I can hear everything. Zero etiquette or attempt by management to set a standard for behavior. Not even a sign posted. It's just GROSS!

***This review is specifically for Betelehem I (Beth), the Member Service manager at the Aurora location. The review below explains how this woman decided to intimidate me, harass me, and make me uncomfortable about an outside issue she has no part in.***

On Saturday September 28th at 1:10PM, I called the gym looking for my cardholder that I misplaced. I was trying to retrace my steps and wanted to check the gym just in case. I told Beth my information & the description of my wallet.

At first, she was kind and sounded like she was trying to help me. Right before I was going to hang up the phone, she brought up another person/employee that works at the LA Ballard location. It was at this moment, that I knew she knew who I was and was not trying to help me.

Beth told me that she has been receiving, "information from CORPORATE" to reach out to me about how I have, "made several calls to the gym" to inquire about the employee that works at the Ballard location. She wanted to know, "what I wanted from this person" and she smugly asked if she, "could help me in any way." THIS IS A BLATANT LIE FOUNDED ON PETTINESS. I have never called ANY gym in the Seattle area to ask questions about this individual, nor do I want any outside "drama" to affect her job. I do not care that she works for LA Fitness. I did not need any issue resolved. I know why Beth was asking me these questions & she clearly got a kick out of talking to me when she figured out who I was.

I was extremely confused why Beth decided to mention this employee to me. I simply called asking about my wallet and it turned into me being falsely accused, harassed, and questioned for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. Shortly after, at 1:23PM, I called the location back with a witness/friend so she could also hear these false accusations.

I will admit, the call got extremely heated and out of hand; I do apologize for that. HOWEVER, I wanted to know more information about these "calls" that were made, the time of the day that they were placed, the number used, and what was asked, but Beth could NOT provide any further details for me. I am sure Beth made up this story to be slick and make me uncomfortable in support of her friend/colleague. In turn, she decided to "BAN" me from Aurora and forcefully "REMOVE" me if I come to the premises - all for my "attitude" and situation that SHE caused.

This is very upsetting - It made me realize these people have my information, when I call to the gym, the time and day I might check-in, and are also making up false stories to put in my file for other employees to see. Clearly, I am being watched and monitored. I have been a loyal client at numerous locations in the Seattle area. I go to the gym to decompress and not stress out over who sees me there.

I asked the manager to turn down the music and turn it off in the guys locker room and she said she would and didn’t. The music is just as loud and just as awful. I am always asking them to turn it down I can’t even listen to my own music through my AirPods it’s so loud. Also it’s top 100 worst songs of all time. I’m about to change gyms it’s beyond annoying

Signed up for a free 3-day trial, while having an account setup along with my activation code to scan upon arrival. However, when I got there the two women at the desk were not accommodating and unprofessional. One of them had me wait at the lobby for nearly 15 minutes to wait on the manager. Neither one bothered to inform the manager or any other staff member that a guest is waiting. I ended up walking out. Terrible service and was able to find a much better and professional gym nearby.

I like this gym. It can get really busy especially during peak hours. For the 2 star rating my biggest critique is that people wear their shoes into the sauna on the benches which is extremely disgusting and unhygienic. The temperature is colder on the floor and bottom levels compared to the upper bench levels which allows virus/bacteria that gets tracked in to survive. Some locations had signage but no longer are posted. I have talked to the front desk to ask the manager to hang a sign outside the sauna staying no shoes in sauna. Still waiting on a response!

Gym is clean and well stocked. I love that there’s a sauna and plenty of racks and machines. I wish they were open later, but that’s okay. I like that there is a good diversity of people every time I go!

Much of the equipment at this location is broken or out of maintenance... I would estimate 1 out of every 4 machines are out of maintenance to the point where they are frustrating to use. If you don't attend the classes or events here and are paying $480 a year just to use the gym equipment alone you will be sorely disappointed. Too many people use this facility for it to be this poorly maintained.
E.g. ellipticals, etc missing rubber feet, they wobble. Many treadmills are powered off. Very many weight machines get stuck, probably need belts greased. Presumably very easy maintenance to arrange.
Staff are polite. Lots of equipment to choose from but not always available.

There’s one guy at our gym that keeps coughing and coughing over and over without covering his mouth. So disgusting. Not only that people don’t clean machines after every use. Canceling my membership has proven to be an ordeal! The first time l went they said their manager is not there and they can send me a form to fill out. But apparently the form needs to be printed out and mailed like in the 20th century! The second time I went in person they said that not any manager but only the operations manager can cancel my membership. So I should come before 5 pm. gym is kept clean and respectable for any gyms standards. awesome staff that are super inviting and helpful in motivating someone who doesn't even work out. juice bar is decent, with a wide collection to pick from. busiest times are between noon to 3pm and 7pm to 10pm so arrive early if you want to avoid alot of people. pool was closed today due to maintenance, but most of the time, I can get laps in without too many people in the pool.

Staff at the front desk barely look up from their phones to greet you and act like it’s an inconvenience to help you check in. Commission-based salespeople use body-shaming to sell memberships; no one is walking the floor to see that equipment is clean and people are operating equipment safely. More and more equipment is cordoned off every week for personal trainer session use only. Locker rooms, showers, and pool are in minor states of disrepair— missing screws on hooks everywhere, a cleaning person sprayed bleach in the showers while I was in there (ouch my lungs- can’t imagine effects to hers!). I will not soon forget the bandaid I saw floating in the pool. Parking spaces are tiny. There is a hot tub which is redeeming. Would not recommend joining this gym; I’m reluctantly still here because it’s conveniently located.

I have been going to this gym for the past year. I love the front desk staff who greets me with beautiful smile when I come in every time. Joe the GM has been tremendously helpful to me getting used to the gym, which I was a bit intimidated when I started. He showed me around and gave me good tips on how to workout with the machines and fix my posture. I have also met incredible people in the gym. The yoga and zumba classes are very popular. I’ve driven up to this location on 3 separate occasions only to be told each time that the manager (apparently the only person able to cancel my membership) was not in. On top of their staff being incredibly unhelpful and misinformed, the manager does nothing to remedy their mistakes. Their misinformed and untrained staff costed me $200 after they’d promised to have cancelled my membership on their end back in September of last year. Of course, nothing was done to remedy or even remotely correct their improper handling and actions.
