I have tried a handful of gyms & classes, worked out in my home gym, and trialed many "healthy eating" programs over the past 15 years. However, it didn't take long to discover that this place is the real deal. I've been attending Lab Athletics for almost a year now, and I can't recommend this place enough. I'm 20lbs lighter and feel and look strong. The nutrition program is by far the most sustainable lifestyle change I've experienced in regard to food. I don't do well with deprivation or food restrictions, so being able to eat food I love with just a little planning ahead makes it doable long-term. I love that the classes are very lifting oriented without neglecting endurance & are fit for any skill level. Not to mention, the trainers genuinely care about you and your goals. You don't feel out of place here. It truly is one of a kind!

I joined Lab Athletics with a 6 week nutrition and membership program, after the first week of going to the work outs I knew this was the gym for me! I love how the work outs are small groups with really awesome coaches, every single coach has been so helpful with form, offering alternative movements if needed, giving helpful feedback while also encouraging you to lift heavier and push harder and I feel like every coach truly wants you to be the healthiest strongest person you can be! All the coaches and the owner Jake are so friendly and make the work out classes fun but challenging. They are all so knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness, they’re all so amazing and so great at helping to keep you motivated!
All the other members are so encouraging too, it really makes a difference when the other people doing the work out with you and pushing themselves just as hard if not harder and are super friendly while encouraging you to push yourself too. I’ve had such an awesome experience at this gym unlike any other gym I’ve attended. The community this gym has created is truly one of a kind! My only regret is not finding them sooner!
I really love the structure of the work outs with the hour classes having portions for strength training and portions endurance training. I personally really enjoy being able to focus on trying to lift heavy and really work certain muscle groups and then finishing the work out off with another portion to really get your heart rate going.
The nutrition plan I started with the 6 week program was really well thought out and all the food was tasty, nothing was bland or boring. Every meal I felt full and wasn’t craving more food. I also found some new recipes that I really love and still make for myself from it!
I highly recommend this gym, every work out and check in meeting with Jake throughout the 6 week program have all been so positive, encouraging, inspiring, motivating and honestly really fun!!

This gym offers unmatched energy, accountability, and real help on improving strength and technique. I love how they adapt movements for beginners, so you never feel like you can't keep up or don't belong in class. I always try to hit Savannah's classes. She's super patient, informative, FUN and can teach you how to power clean without feeling like a dumb-dumb (which is a real skill).

I've been going to the lab about 8 months now and I absolutely love it! Great atmosphere, amazing coaching, great strength and conditioning classes! The owners are amazing people who live the fitness life to the fullest! I've put on about 20 lbs of muscle and am in the best shape I've been since high school. If you are not going to this gym you're missing out! So quit the other gym and come to the lab! It will change your life! Get it how you live it!

Hands down my favorite place to do group fitness in Whatcom County. Positive and inclusive atmosphere for people of all abilities to improve their personal fitness level and stay motivated to maintain healthy activity for the long haul. Personal training and independent working out is also available. And they never close for bad weather or holidays!

Jake has been asking me to join his 6 week challenge for years and I finally did it last year and I have no clue why it took me so long. I LOVE the way this gym is structured and ran. The community is like no other I've ever trained at and it GETS RESULTS. The six week challenge saw me lose almost 15lbs and about 4% body fat- I also maintained my BMI and actually put on a few lbs of muscle! I couldn't have been more happy with the results in that short span. Granted I was following the meal plan and workout very well. AND I can only get in two sessions a week and I was doing 1-2 days of cardio each week also.

This place accepts everyone at every level and prides themselves on growing people from novice to elite. No one is out of place here and it's honestly just awesome to see.

I love this place! The workouts are awesome and the trainers do a great job of encouraging you and watching to make sure you addre executing the moves with proper form to avoid injury. They are also knowledgeable enough to modify anything you need if you have a current injury. The trainers have an incredible ability to remember your name and make you feel welcome every time!

I just finished the 6 week challenge and it was transcending. I’m the girl who ate Raisin Bran for dinner and never cooked. Lab Athletics taught me how to eat healthy, portion control and the necessity of adding weights to my work out routine. The classes were different each week which kept things interesting and all the staff are committed to helping each member reach their individual goal. I can’t say enough good things about this program. I highly recommend their program and am sincerely thankful to all of them for what they taught me.

I highly recommended Lab Athletics. When I first signed up for the 6 week challenge I was nervous because I hadn’t worked out for 4 years due to lack of motivation and energy but I am so glad I did. The 6-weeks challenge was an amazing experience for me! I did succeed reaching my goal in within 6 weeks. Their meal plans really helped me to open my eyes with what kind of food my body needs. The first 6 weeks is about cleansing the body then slowly reintroduce with few different foods but remain healthy!! The coaches there were amazing especially Jake, Breann, & Yuhleen!!

It's worth it - worth the experience - also worth the money. This experience will change your life. The classes are very brutal but they help you to move better and become more active. Try it! Do TRY IT!!!

I came in not knowing anything about fitness, eating "healthy" (Spoiler, no not really) and all in all letting myself talk myself out of going to gym, even when I could.

Having taken the 6 week challenge all I can say is this place rocks. Beginner friendly, advanced friendly, surrounded by people who care and will actually cheer you on. Even if you have to ask what an exercise is 5 times in a row. (Sorry Nate).

The class scheduling is awesome and they'll do what they can to work around your schedule, and a diet plan that was actually realistic.

I lost 16 pounds in 6 weeks, and could lift significantly more. Take the plunge, you're worth it, and this place will show you.

I just finished the 6 week challenge!!! This was by far one of the most important and impactful investments I've made on myself. Not only has my body gone through conditioning so has my mentality! Applied knowledge and behavior is one of the most rewarding experiences! I surpassed the goal we set and I feel like a million bucks! I have gained strength, endurance, and an understanding of nutrition. I owe so much of that to the trainers at Lab Athletics. Any time I had a question the trainers were right there to answer and go into depth. They all truly want each and every single individual that walks through their door to SUCCEED! 80% of body transformation depends on nutrition. Lab Athletic's 6 week challenge helped me seriously understand that statement. If you are considering Lab Athletics I highly recommend it. Pop in, meet the trainers and all the wonderful people who attend! Oh and one other thing I really like about Lab Athletics the variety of strength levels and age range of people who train there. Everyone is on their own journey and I never once felt like I wasn't good enough to be there. Everyone is a beast and crushing it in their own way!!

By far this has to be the number one place to get fit and healthy! The trainers are like family, everyone from all different walks of life getting real results! I am blown away by my results after only 6 weeks... down 14 pounds and 3% body fat! They really know what they are doing, they work with you individually as well as provide you with meal plans! My best friend and I have talked about working out for about 3 years, we finally started the challenge at Lab Athletics and they made working out fun! This has been an amazing experience for me, as someone who suffers from chronic pain, I didn’t know if I’d be able to handle the work outs but the trainers are amazing at helping modify an exercise as needed and they are right there the whole time to check your form and and encourage you along the way. They create a community atmosphere, it becomes like a second family. If you have questions outside of the gym they are only a text away. I really can’t recommend this gym enough, it has been life changing for me and I am grateful for this experience

Lab athletics is a positive and energetic environment for personal growth and community development. I really enjoyed the trainers instruction of exercises and guidance on proper form because it was my first time using free weights. They had a lot of confidence in fitness knowledge and a willingness to share all they know and answer any questions I had. The 6 week challenge seemed really organized, but you’ve got to be extremely committed to it before you start! The downsides for me were difficulty coordinating classes with my schedule, and open gym time was during my work hours. Also it wasn’t obvious to me that equipment was being cleaned very often or between classes, though there were plenty of cleaning supplies on hand if needed.

I also just completed my 6 week challenge and exceeded the goals I set for myself. All of the trainers have a different style of coaching, but are all wonderful, and I enjoyed the variety. I have a chronic injury and the coaches did a great job at modifying movements that I couldn't do. As a former crossfitter, I appreciate the lifts and challenging workouts, but the Lab is MUCH safer than crossfit in terms of programming. Finally, Lab Athletics has a good community vibe to it. I'm sad that I'm moving and have to leave!

By far, Yehleen is the best trainer! She paid close attention to form and was good about giving each individual attention and support. I really enjoyed her classes because the workouts kept a fast pace. Time flew by! For my personal body type, it was easier to lose body fat percentage than the weight itself. By the end of the 6 week challenge, I had seen significant changes in how toned parts of my body became.

Thank you Lab Athletics for an AMAZING 6 weeks!!! I have reached beyond my weight loss goal, gained so much physical strength in such a short time and discovered a better way of enjoying meals. The team of trainers are the BEST motivators, keep each work out fun while making sure you are working to your ability and working out safely with great form.
This was the jump start that I needed to get back on track physically and mentally. I was the heaviest I’ve been in my life. I weighed more than I did last year when I was pregnant!!! I have always been athletic and in shape, but as I got older I stopped exercising and always had an excuse why I wasn’t keeping fit. I couldn’t do a push up or a pull up. The 6 week challenge saved me from my EXCUSES and I feel stronger physically and mentally. Yes I can do push ups and pull ups again!!

Rigorous workout and the instructors are very knowledgeable about how the body and muscles work together. It was a great workout but limited time opportunities to work out and a clean environment was not top priority. I felt the choice of music was inappropriate for the environment as well but if you can deal with both of those, it was a great workout.

I did the 6 week challenge and had a blast! The trainers really work to suit your needs and offer the best assistance. The really cool part about the gym is the environment. The gym has a lot of equipment for an old school feel and everybody is always helping each other out within the workout. I never felt more comfortable at the gym knowing there were many different shapes and sizes that could do the workouts as well. I lost a total of 24ibs in my experience, the nutrition helping a lot on the customized plans. Thank you again Lab Athletics for jumpstarting my workout goals and health I haven't been able to get pass my plateau of 20 ibs in years.

I have been with the Lab since October 2016 and not a day goes by where I’m not sore (a good sore) from awesome workouts from extremely knowledgeable trainers! The schedule is such that it’s broken down into lower body and upper body days so those muscle groups get a day of rest in between workouts. The trainers are extremely helpful in helping to switch out exercises if needed due to injury or weakness and the other clients are supportive and encouraging, making each class enjoyable yet effective!

I am so glad that I found this place! Several of my friends took The Little Black Dress Challenge and enjoyed it; so the next time it became available, I joined in and have not looked back. I like working out with my fellow members who are as equally motivated as I am. I like training with the coaches. They care about their members. They understand that everyone is at a different level of fitness and so they modify the exercises accordingly. But they challenge you also to press just a little heavier, squat just little lower, jump a just little higher than what your mind is telling you you’re capable of. The facility is unpretentious - you won’t find any sophisticated machines w/ confusing buttons. Your body IS THE machine! Prepare to be AMAZED at what your body can endure!

What I love most about the Lab is that all fitness levels are welcome. The trainers are great at offering modifications or suggestions to make it work for you. Prepare for the workout of your life! I have taught group fitness classes, ran marathons, and been active for most of my adult life—but I have never been in as good of shape as I am now. Down 4 dress sizes since starting with Lab Athletics! The nutrition counseling has been irreplaceable, and significantly changed the way I think about food. There is great comraderie between members, everyone is so encouraging! I also work full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant and teach kinesiology classes. I can personally vouch that all of the trainers offer safe, effective exercises with no negative orthopedic issues. I wouldn’t work out here if this wasn’t the case. Well done, Lab Athletics, well done.

Great atmosphere..programs are challenging, everyone is supportive and not just the staff (which are all top notch). If you think about the time that you waste at the gym and that your results are never going to be as good if you are by yourself, this program is a bargain!
