I have never met a more disrespectful, uninviting front desk, staff in my entire life. Called to get some information the most attitude I’ve ever received I think in my life. For our first dance, we wanted a choreographed routine that felt special but not over the top. Elena at LaVida Dance Studio was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the start, she made us feel comfortable and confident, even though we had zero dance experience. We chose the silver package and were able to master our full routine in just five lessons! Elena is patient, kind, and encouraging. She always knew how to push us just the right amount without ever making us feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed. She created a routine that struck the perfect balance between being personal and intimate, while also including just the right amount of “wow” moments to impress our guests. Thanks to her guidance, we felt prepared, relaxed, and truly enjoyed our first dance on our wedding day. We can’t recommend Elena and LaVida Dance Studio highly enough. They charge you two months ahead. That's around 400 dollars so when you'd like to leave to vacation, it's already charged and this studio wont dare to give you refunds. It's incredibly stingy. And the communication is terrible. You could call them two times on a Tuesday and they won't respond. The outfits are also terrible and cheap. The emails for events and recordings we almost never recieve. Do not recommend this studio.

We found La Vida through a close friend who recommended Elena to help us with our wedding dance. Neither my husband nor I are strong dancers, but Elena made us feel comfortable right away. She was encouraging, patient, and helped us build confidence with each lesson. We ended up taking 5 lessons total, and by the time our wedding day arrived, we felt genuinely ready. I went to LaVida for the Friday night salsa and bachata dance social. Advertised as 9:30-11:30 PM, I arrived at 9:45, filled out a release form (!) and paid. But the social only lasted until 10:15 when the studio was empty.

LaVida sent an automated email asking for feedback the next day, to which I responded. But I never heard back.

I would look elsewhere in the region to find a dance social worth your time and money.

We wanted to do something a bit out of the ordinary for the Mother and Son dance at my June wedding. Neither of us have any dance training, but we hoped to do a short, choreographed dance. Luckily, we found LaVida and our amazing instructor, Elena.

Elena is absolutely great! She was kind, funny, encouraging and incredibly patient with us. Every lesson was a pleasure and so much fun! Under her guidance, we went from shuffling awkwardly across the floor, to a complete multifaceted dance routine that Elena choreographed just for us. We actually can’t believe how well we dance together now. No one will ever mistake us for experienced dancers, but we’re proud of our accomplishment, and love what we learned.

Our time dancing together, under Elena’s watchful eye, is an experience the two of us will never forget. And without Elena, it would not have been possible. The highest of praises to Elena and the folks at LaVida!

We signed up for a trial dance class for my 3 year old and they were immediately responsive! So glad they had Saturday availability since that works best for our schedule. I strongly urge other parents to think twice before enrolling their children here. A business that treats its clients this poorly doesn't deserve your time or money!!!!!

Here is the reason:

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this dance school. The front desk staff is not only unprofessional but also shockingly rude. They canceled my son's class (Break dance) without providing any notification, leaving us confused and frustrated. We just enrolled in Feb and for starting the class it was asked to buy sneakers, a uniform a backpack, pay a membership, and a monthly fee. And on top of that they are being rude!!!!!!

When I communicated the lack of notification the response was extremely rude and unexpected since I was looking for a: "I am sorry that you didn't receive the email, let me confirm the information is updated in the system" or something similar. I mean empathy and respect for the client. But it was the complete opposite, a rude answer, and a directed "Unrolling is the solution"

To make matters worse, they have refused to refund the investment I made for the yearly fee (again we just enrolled in Feb). This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

As a parent, I trusted this school to provide a supportive and respectful environment, but their behavior has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly urge other parents to think twice before enrolling their children here. A business that treats its clients this poorly doesn't deserve your time or money.

Yes the instructors seem great. The waiting area as well as the parking area are fine. Class schedules are great! However, the studio itself has all the “requirement fees” that’s very disappointing and unreasonable. Please be cautious before signing your kid up!

Basically it feels like a scam. Triple fees for required cheap uniforms without studio labels. A cheap tutu outfit costs $120. I can’t believe how these parents are willing to do it. I guess parents here are just too rich and too mindless.

We want to encourage our kids to perform, but to sign up for an end of the year performance they require a “$200/person” fee excluding what you HAVE to pay for their costumes.

Overall, I don’t feel this studio is encouraging and they just want to make money out of inexperienced parents, or parents with little knowledge with dance.

Positive: The studio offers a wide range of classes and the dance instructors are very patient with the young dancers.

Negative: lots of got-cha moments with hidden cost, and the overall lack of transparency. For example, after registration, you must purchase their uniform for your kids from the school. Including dance wear, shoes and stocking for girl, they cost like $150+ upfront when you can find equivalent alternative for much less. Students are auto-enroll to their annual performance, which is $200+ for registration unless you opt out. Make up class are not always possible "due to limitation of space" but I often found my designated class time overrun with people. I was once told a class of my preference is full, only to find out a few weeks later they were still enrolling new students.

Conclusion: the quality is okay but you should ask more about all the costs upfront before registering and don't decide on the spot, which they always incentivize you to do so.

I booked a birthday party class for my kids.

To be honest, this is the worst kids’ class I’ve ever joined. The class is completely disorganized. After each song, the teachers spent about 4 minutes discussing what activity to do next, leaving the kids waiting and confused. There was no clear structure or plan.
They even tried to end the class after only 30 minutes, despite it being advertised as a 1-hour session. I had to show them the email to remind them of the correct duration.
The activities were not suitable for 2-4 year-olds. For example, they asked the kids to speak out their favorite colors and animals. At this age, kids need visual aids like pictures to help them understand and engage. Simply asking them direct questions shows a lack of understanding of how young children learn and communicate. If the teachers had any real experience with kids, they should know this.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this class to anyone.

My 4 y o daughter has just enrolled into twinkle stars program after the trial lesson. She loved the teacher and dancing. All children are always occupied and there are group exercises for example when they dance together in a circle which my daughter loves. The tutu costume is the additional benefit. If I could select 0 as a rating I would. This studio is a joke. My daughter has been enrolled throughout the summer and they have cancelled 3 of her classes due to staffing issues. We received NO call ahead of time to warn us not to waste our time traveling to the studio. When we asked for our money back they ignored us and told us we could just "make up" the class. We are busy parents and the only class that works for our schedule is the class we are signed up for.

This place should be reported for theft. DO NOT take your children here they will steal your money and not provide services.

We just moved to the United States and are looking for good dance courses near my house in Redmond. I had heard a few good things about Lavida Dance School, and we didn't know where to start, so I dialed the number I found on the internet. It was well welcomed in terms of their internal program, and a Demo class visit was asked to understand more.
Finally, we went to Demo class and met with Alexandra; she is wonderful, and we didn't witness her repeating the same assignment over and over, but we did note her love for teaching dance to her students.

This is fantastic, and after the session, she approached my daughter and provided feedback on her performance as well as recommendations for future courses for her. She didn't stop there; she spoke with the Lavida producers and suggested that "Teams" be formed to assist my daughter in progressing to the next level and performing in major places.
We highly recommend "Lavida Dance School" and wish you and your team the best of luck in your future endeavors.

They have a free trial class which is awesome, give you a chance to see how your kid does an make a decisionif you are going to sign up or not. My daughter is 3 and she had a blast. She came out after her first call already saying she can't wait to do it again. I had a great experience. Dance teacher was welcoming. Introduced herself before class and spoke with us after letting us know how it went. The parents have to wait outside the room and there is only a little door window to peek in. The only thing I wish was that they had a bigger window for us to be able to see better. Like a two way mirror. Kids would get to distracted if they could see their parents.

I love the friendliness of the staff and the joy in my daughter's face when she is in dance class and how she is excited about what she learns each week. I can see that the teachers have patience with the children and are caring and kind and they make class fun. Any time there has been a cancellation, they have rescheduled and have definitely made the experience worth it. My daughter and I recently started the Mommy and Me class, and she loves it. She asks everyday “I dance?” She is one of the younger kids having just turned 2, and the teacher is very patient. There is a lot of flexibility and this is a fun way to learn listen and follow directions. I rent the room for 1/16 and try to reschedule to 1/23, they send me the email said they will refund me 50% for 1/16
and charge $45 for 1/23 which I accept. However they didn't refund the 50% to me as they promised, i try to contact
them and they denied what they said, I try to call the manager and they blocked me. It happened before when I asked
for reschedule, they won't refund even I notice them 2weeks ago.

Ps: I contact them after I post the review, the manager agree to give me 50% refund. Then I deleted the original post. The next day, they found my review and canceled my refund for the review I deleted. What’s wrong with the group.

This place is great for all ages and levels. They were very communicative and helped quickly find options for my kids' trials.
They also have all the equipment available so when you sign up you have everything handy!
They also have a cosy space where you can hang out while your little one is dancing, with some crayons and stuff if you have other kids not dancing that you can't to keep busy!

I booked a private salsa lesson for my boyfriend’s birthday. We had SO much fun and Julia was WONDERFUL even though we were a mess! We learned a tiny routine we can work on perfecting and made some great memories. We’ve already talked about coming back the next time I’m in Seattle. Thank you SO MUCH for helping me make the day so special!!

My daughter went for a trial lesson and was told it “wasn’t a good time for her to dance with the class because they were rehearsing for their show and it would be too chaotic”. My daughter is 6 years old, and wanted to be a part of of a fun ballet class after not being able to do ballet for two years during the pandemic, she was dressed and ready for the advertised ballet trial class and very enthused and was told to come back another time in a way that was embarrassing for her. It was heartbreaking and sad. It was advertised for a trial to see if it was a good fit and fun and a learning experience, clearly we were not given that chance. Really sad and disappointing.

-addendum: Cara from the front desk reached out to us to remedy the embarrassing situation we faced at the trial lesson and offered us to come back and was kind to try to explain the situation as a mis understanding. My daughter didn’t want to return back but this gesture was much appreciated. They expressed empathy and understanding.

Instructor Sasha have little or no empathy with the little girls, I took my daughter for the first time and thank goodness it was only for the trial class. The only thing that she know is how to be rude with a 2-year-old.little one I know they are looking to create discipline. but no thanks! that's not the way i want my kids treated. not recommended!!!

I had a wonderful experience with LaVida Dance Studio. I'm a beginner to dance in general, and I took an Argentinian Tango private class with Kristina. She was very welcoming, professional, and friendly. Kristina met me where I was at as far as my dancing experience. She was very in-tune with what new information to introduce me to. Not only did I not feel overwhelmed, but I felt excited about continuing my dancing journey. She also provided me with technical advice/suggestion to help build a strong foundation. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn Argentinean Tango at LaVida Dance Studio!

My husband and I had a private bachata class with Julia yesterday and we loved it! The challenge was to introduce bachata to my husband who didn't particularly care about latin music. Julia made an effort to find the type of music that my husband likes and it was very helpful. Julia's instructions were clear, she always made sure that we got it before introducing a new move. So my husband started from basic steps and at the endof the class he could do basic steps, turns, hammerlock and some other bachata moves. I will recommend Julia to beginners as well as to advanced level dancers who are looking to improve their performance. Thank you Julia for such a great class!

Natasha is the best Argentine Tango teacher in all of Seattle area. All the Tango teachers are quite exceptional. However, Natasha's teaching skills gives her that edge that makes her the best teacher in my book. I am an engineer and I like to have things broken down so I can understand the mechanics of each step.

Initially I emailed Lavida asking for help with the close embrace, I was very stuck and I didn't understand what was supposed to be happening. I described my experience similar to black box testing. It's like I was pressing buttons for input but I couldn't understand how the output was determined.

Natasha responded and said she knew what I was I saying and that she could help me like she has helped her other students[engineers]; and she did. I've taken weekly lessons from Natasha and never looked back.

I signed up for a trial as I originally planned for my kid experienced a few before making the decision, however my daughter refused to try others after her first class, she loves the teacher and always wanted to come back, she said Saturday was her favorite day because she can go dancing. The class is not crowed and the teacher are very nice to all the kids, we already started our second program without any hesitation.
