I first met Laura through her cute dogs, who join her for training sessions.
One day, she saw me deadlifting and asked, "Have you ever thought of competing in powerlifting?" I had not! Nor had anyone ever posed this to me as an option. Never in my life had I competed in ANY sport. But the conversation planted a seed in my mind. ("Is this a space that could be for me? Could I be 'the type of person' who competes in something, for the first time in my life?")
A few months later, Laura encouraged me to sign up for a women-only, beginner-friendly powerlifting meet at the gym. Without thinking too much about it (and despite my honest-to-god terror), I did! And I hired Laura as my coach. It turned out to be one of the best choices I've ever made.
Since then, she's:
- Coached me through two powerlifting meets. We are currently training for a third.
- Helped me rehab a lower back injury that has plagued me for over a decade. I'm now able to stay in the gym more consistently and do functional life tasks with more confidence and no pain.
- Helped me pack on a boatload of new muscle and expand my strength
- Expanded my knowledge on how to lift with proper technique, fuel my body like an athlete, and show up for myself (and others!) in athletics.
- Become a personal friend.
There's a lot of coaches in the wellness space. Many of them have incredible expertise and knowledge. Many others are compassionate, warm, lovely people. Laura is the entire package. She is not just a coach, she's someone whose belief in your ability to do hard things can help you believe in yourself. She will help you grow. Whatever your goals are, I couldn't possibly recommend her more enthusiastically.

Working with Laura has been one of the best decisions I could have made for myself. Not only is she an amazing coach/trainer, but also mentor and friend. She is the absolute sweetest and genuinely cares about her clients. She gives great feedback in a timely manner and has helped me make so much progress: not only with my lifts, but mentally as well. She is patient, kind, strong, and so inspiring. If you are considering a coach/trainer, look no further because Laura is the one for you. I guarantee you will not regret your decision. I am so happy to be a part of Liberate Strength and one of Laura’s athletes❤️❤️

I haven’t trained with Laura personally, but I used to go to Embody and saw her working with clients regularly. She’s always had a great energy—super encouraging, focused, and clearly dedicated to the people she trains. What stood out to me is how consistently she shows up early, stays late, gets her own workouts in, and still finds time to take her dogs out for walks. Her dogs are often with her at the gym too, and honestly, they add such a warm, supportive vibe. I also follow her on Instagram, and you can tell she’s truly passionate about what she does. She lives the lifestyle, and it shows in how she shows up for her clients and herself.

Working with Laura has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I first came to her because I was developing back and knee pain during my workouts. Very quickly she was able to help me adjust my workouts and gain the strength I needed to prevent this pain when working out. While I no longer really have this problem, I have continued to work with her for so many reasons.
Not only am I the strongest I have ever been since working with her, but she has helped me develop the confidence and knowledge to navigate the gym.
Laura is incredibly patient and understanding, always taking the time to address my unique needs and quirks and to educate me. She creates an environment where I feel safe, supported, and empowered and has helped me develop a healthy relationship with the gym.
Beyond her expertise, I also genuinely enjoy spending time with Laura. She's kind, fun, and an all-around great person to be around! If you’re thinking about working with her, just do it :)

Laura has changed my life. I started working with Laura remotely at the beginning of the year after almost 4 years of not moving my body with a deteriorating relationship with food. She empowered me to lean into my strength and take up space--soon enough, she was my powerlifting coach. She helped me rewire and heal my relationship with food and learn how to properly fuel myself to be strong, build muscle, and lift heavy. She helped me hone my technique by offering individualized cues with consistent and encouraging feedback. Her ability to teach while empowering is astounding. After 7 months of working closely with Laura, primarily remotely, I competed in my first USAPL event and took second in my weight class and qualified for regionals... again after only 7 months with her. At that event, all of my teammates who also work with Laura placed as well, and if that doesn't say something about her skills as a coach.... highly recommend. She has also created a beautiful community around strength—physically and mentally—I have met some of my favorite people through Laura because she is more than just an individual coach, she is a community leader who brings people together to support and encourage one another.

I started individual personal training (in person) with Laura in September of 2023. I had always had a perspective of working out to justify my eating habits and had been able to stay slim with mostly just playing recreational soccer a couple times a week. I went through a rough couple of years and had gained some weight but had some additional goals. I wanted to feel stronger, get more energy, strengthen my back to try to help with poor posture and to feel more confident in myself. I had never been consistent at the gym or with workouts so I felt like a personal trainer for accountability was the path for me.
I am SO endlessly glad I found Laura. She is so incredibly knowledgeable, kind and fun. Every week I look forward to spending time in the gym with her and the two BEST gym assistants (Rain & Rogue). I’ve seen results in my physique as well as my confidence and energy. I’ve learned so much about gym equipment, movements and my body. I still have so much to learn and grow but so grateful I was connected with Laura and started on this path!

Laura has changed my life in so many ways! She is the first personal trainer I've ever worked with and we've been working together for the last year and a half. Laura is extremely knowledgable about her field and helped me become the strongest I've ever been while also avoiding / preventing injuries. I have a very sensitive low back which has been prone to nerve pain. Laura has been very accommodating of my unique needs. In the time that we've worked together, I've hit many new PRs, found new confidence at the gym, and have never felt so good in my own body. Not only that, she takes the time to educate me on the "why" in my programming and overall fitness education. She's awesome, smart, and so easy to work with. Highly recommend!

I’ve been working with Laura for over a year now and it has been an absolute dream! I sustained a back/hip injury 10 yrs ago in high school and I finally got the ok to start building the muscle backup after working with my doctors on/off. I started going to the gym but I had ZERO clue on what to do to build the muscles in my back again. My job is incredibly physically demanding and I was starting to have issues again since I hadn’t made progress by myself.
I looked up female personal trainers on a complete ADHD inspired whim and Laura was the first person to pop up. After looking through her incredibly delightful website, I reached out and haven’t regretted my decision since! I have never met a person who is so positive, cheery, understanding and non-toxic before, especially in the fitness field.
I’ve been really open about my struggle with nutrition habits and my struggle with being consistent with at home workouts due to my neurodivergent brain. Not once has Laura made me feel bad/lacking about these things. For example: I first started working on improving my water intake and when I met with Laura for our next couple of sessions, I was able to tell her that I found a way to increase it. She was just as excited as I was and encouraging! She didn’t immediately tell me what I should do next or make my current accomplishment seem less than. She has always let me take things at my own pace. When I told her I was eating my calories in multiple meals instead of all of them at then end of my shift, she matched my excitement. When I was able to tell her I was finally eating MORE calories/protein, again she matched my excitement. She didn’t overwhelm me with a bunch of information that my neurodivergent brain wasn’t ready to process yet while still encouraging me about my current success and working with what I was able to do in that moment.
I could keep going on about all of the amazing physical and mental progress I’ve made with Laura but that would probably be another 4 paragraphs! Especially, since I thought I left a review after working with her for 6-ish months but somehow I didn't finish it😅In conclusion, Laura has help me build more strength back into my body than I thought I would be able to, she has help me find my confidence and love again with my body, my relationship with food is finally healing, and my neurodiverse brain is finally making healthy connections due to the support and training from Laura. Also, her dogs are heckin’ cute and the perfect workout buddies! I am incredibly excited to see where I will be in another 6-12 months!

Laura is amazing! I’ve been working with her for over a year now as I was looking for someone to coach me into doing powerlifting competitions; which was a goal of mine. I just completed my first in May and placed 1st! Laura’s easy to work with, talk to and has quality programming. I’m excited to continue to work with Laura as I work towards my 2nd meet! Laura offers great knowledge and support to help you succeed in whatever health and fitness goal you may have. Could not recommend her enough!

Laura is by far the best coach/trainer I’ve ever worked with. I’ve had trainers before but no one compares to my experience with Laura! I had no intention of competing in powerlifting when I initially started working with Laura and just wanted someone to help me get into lifting with proper form. But ever since I started working with Laura a little over a year ago, I have gained much more! She has been a great mentor for me and saw the potential in me in the PL world! I recently placed 1st in my first competition and hope to continue competing! She pushes me to limits I never knew I could reach and always takes into consideration my goals, how I am feeling mental and physically and what I may have going on in my life when planning my programs. She has changed my mindset with myself, body, the gym/fitness and nutrition! My confidence in life and the gym has skyrocketed since working with Laura! Laura is extremely knowledgeable and continues to work on her knowledge about fitness and all. Above all, Laura is so sweet, genuine and fun to work with and the dogs are always a bonus! I would highly recommend Laura as a coach if you are looking to start or want more mentorship in powerlifting or fitness in general.

I was a beginner in the gym before I met Laura, and I had a lot of nerves about getting started, but Laura made that all go away.
She did a great job meeting me where I was at, educating me, pushing me when I wanted it and supporting me when I needed it. She is extremely down to earth and approachable and was a great guide for me as I embarked on my fitness journey.
Laura is extremely knowledgeable in many facets of fitness. I strained a back muscle when I first started, and she helped me identify the issue and we worked on lifting techniques to improve it. Throughout our time together she continuously augmented our routines to maximize my productivity. I never felt like Laura mailed it in or took me for granted. I highly recommend her services!

Laura is a phenomenal trainer and I’m so glad I found her.
We started working together 7 months ago in January and I can truly say I’ve never felt stronger or more confident because of our time working together. She’s helped me gain body awareness, proper form, and knowledge of lifting in every session. As someone who hasn’t had a particularly specific lifting routine before, I was daunted by the concept and she’s been a huge asset in helping me feel more comfortable.
My favorite thing about working with Laura is the zero judgement mentality she has about her clients. There have been weeks where we didn’t meet, and when I didn’t lift - and instead of feeling bad about it, she always has a “let’s pick up where we left off” mentality. I know that its a safe space to fail or excel when I work with her and that keeps me so motivated!
Other than being a beyond cool and down to earth female trainer, I love my time with Laura because of her deep expertise in body composition, muscle targeting, form queuing, and lifting principles. I love having her as my trainer and can’t wait to see where we progress to next!

What’s not to love about Laura?
So, a bit about me, starting out I had never done any real weight lifting. For nutrition, I probably had 5-6 order in meals in a week. This led me to have around 22% body fat, not the healthiest. This was the starting point. My only goal at first was “get to a healthy body fat and get a toned look”, which Laura helped translate that into achievable goals over a 6 month time frame. After those 6 months, I went from barely being able to squat an empty bar, to squatting a bit below 185lbs, it felt incredible and empowering.
It was a bit by bit work, and sure there were weeks I go out, break the nutrition plan for the week by accident, but Laura is more of the person of making it more of a lifestyle to be healthy, not a “oh, you didn’t follow the plan this week, you should feel horrible “. If I were to stop our sessions, I would feel confident that I could continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle even with the little speed bumps along the way.
I cannot recommend Laura enough, if you are looking for someone who is dedicated to helping you shape and attain your goals in fitness or healthy eating — LS Training is the place to go.

I've been training with Laura remotely for the past three months and would highly recommend Laura for anyone interested in improving their overall strength. Through working with Laura, I became more confident to do compound lifts that I dreaded, which made my least favorite training days (leg days) become the ones I looked forward to the most. Aside from gaining strength, my technique and form for all my compound lifts improved significantly. Laura provides extensive feedback at the end of each training week along with words of encouragement, which may seem like a small gesture but is extremely helpful on days when I struggle with negative thoughts. Consistency is key; progress over perfection, which is something Laura reminded me about. What I most appreciate is Laura's holistic approach to training and how personable she can be in spite of her busy schedule (checkout her Instagram). The content she shares on her Instagram account and website accurately showcases her approach to fitness and how amazing she is as a coach/trainer.

Working with Laura was the best decision I ever made. I lived with lower back and shoulder pain for 6+ years caused by an injury from a car accident. My movement was restricted by pain. Working with physical therapists and other professionals helped temporarily alleviate the pain, but I couldn’t fully get past it. She was the first professional who was able to help me overcome the pain and start to build muscle. In three months, I was able to deadlift 150 lbs. when I first started I could barely squat. She’s really passionate about helping her clients and meeting them at their level. She makes training a comfortable and safe environment. I couldn’t recommend working with her enough!

I've had quite a few personal trainers at this point in my 10+ year long fitness journey. But as a woman with chronic health issues (PCOS, PMDD, endometriosis, Hashimotos, and hypothyroidism - ones that so many women face), I'd consistently find my body at odds with the approach of trainers who didn't understand these types of illnesses or didn't want to spend the time to. I often felt really lonely and discouraged on my journey, and found Laura through a friend who said she has an empathetic and encouraging trainer. Laura takes a science and evidence-based approach to her training that I've never seen before - I remember one session she was SUPER excited to tell me about a large book on women's hormones she had purchased and couldn't wait to read.
This is the first time in my fitness journey that I've felt inspired, heard, understood, motivated, and happy all at the same time - AND have not left with an injury! Laura is so thoughtful about working with injuries and just LISTENING to what her clients need instead of running through the same canned HIIT routine for every client she sees. I can honestly say that after working with Laura for a few months, fitness no longer seems like something only people without chronic illness can pursue. My muscle mass is up, my body size is down, my nutrition supports my health, I have a fully functioning for the first time in my life, and I no longer have an unhealthy view of food. I cannot recommend her enough!!!

I highly recommend Laura for anyone interested in learning how to lift heavier weights. Through working with her, I gained the confidence to do compound lifts like squats and deadlifts on my own. Laura is knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and great at explaining how to adjust or improve your movement patterns. If you are considering Laura, her website and Instagram are an accurate representation of her approach to fitness and training— looking through these is how I made my decision!

Laura Su is one of the only trainers I have ever referred people to, both from a personal trainer capacity, and a physical therapist assistant capacity. What that means to me is she is someone who will pick up where physical therapy left off, without aggressively progressing or drastically regressing. That also means that she will focus on the right things in the personal training capacity such as health, good nutrition advice, vs getting caught up with an unhealthy body image emphasis.
Laura is young in age but she is experienced. She has been working for a couple years, but she puts in the work! She reads and reads, and trains over 40 hours each week.
I really can't say enough good things about her. If you give Laura a shot and actually take her advice you won't regret it. You will be doing exercises that are well researched, vs getting caught up on what looks cool on Instagram. You will also be encouraged to focus on health which is so important to a long sustainable lifestyle instead of crushing you for a few weeks and leaving you feel worse than you were. This is very common in the fitness industry.
There are a lot of horrible trainers out there. I don't need to point out who. It's just important to know when you have a good one vs a bad one. Bad one's don't read, they don't keep up to date on research, they don't care about long term, they only focus on immediate results and what looks cool. Don't do that to yourself, pick a good one like Laura Su.
On a personal note, Laura is someone who has helped me with both nutrition and exercises. I am lucky because I have a large support group of fitness professionals, but I consider Laura to be one of the best one's.

I highly recommend Laura for personal training, building strength after completing physical therapy, and a beginner friendly approach to building a workout routine!
I have been working out with Laura for 6 months. I started personal training with her after completing some physical therapy, and I wanted to continue to build my strength in hopes of reducing my daily pain. Of course results may vary, but I have had a great reduction in pain from daily to weekly to a rare occurrence over the months. I truly believe working out and focusing on building strength in my weak areas was a big contributor to my progress. She pushes me harder than I would myself, and has really challenging, fun workouts.
I meet with her once a week in a small weight training gym and do 2-3 at home workouts that she plans. I had been dealing with consistent shoulder/ trap pain and a weak lower back that often caused pain after heavy lifting. I think Laura was a perfect fit for my goals, and proved herself to be very knowledgeable about what workouts were needed for my individual case. She taught me how to get comfortable with weight training, and I now feel confident doing barbell workouts without injuring myself. She’s educational about correct form, which was something I was really looking for. When I feel pain after a certain exercise she always takes that feedback into account for the next workout.
If you want a highly educated and helpful trainer Laura Su is the way to go!

I have been training with Laura for 9 months/ 2x a week and I hope it doesn’t stop anytime soon. She has helped me achieve the goals I came to her with and more! It is evident that Laura has put in the time and work to become a knowledgeable, well rounded and patient :) trainer. She takes the time to understand what you want and need out of personal training and does a great job of checking in for potential adjustments. I have not had a session yet where Laura hasn’t kept me motivated to keep pushing so that I can continue to be stronger. She also does a great job of mixing things up and keeping things fun! I feel very lucky that I get to work with Laura and I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to live a healthy and strong life.

i appreciate how much Laura helps with even the slightest change in movements and explains how everything works in one motion. she’s very well educated in her profession and is more than happy to help with any questions and/or concerns. i love the fact that if she doesn’t have an answer at the time, she’ll have it in less than 24 hours. she’s amazing and will make you put in work but also makes fitness fun. i’ve learned so many new workouts and techniques with her and even learned that i can work through some pains that, before, i would always stop everything and call it quits. hence no results. but now i’m seeing and feeling results every week. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

For those of you looking for a personal trainer, coach, and just all around great person to have in your corner, then you need to connect with Laura. I've had a bad experience in the past with training and trying to learn how to body build, build strength, and just grow in general. Laura is very thorough in her knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and the science behind anatomy and physiology (which is probably my favorite part, since I am a science nerd). I've always been super skinny and not naturally strong. Laura has helped me to build my strength, size and confidence in my self. I feel more confident in navigating training on my own now, to a certain extent, and I always know that if I have a question, Laura will give me an answer, or she will research it. Seriously, if you are on the fence about investing in a personal trainer, then look no further.
Sincerely,
Chris

Having never worked out formally, I knew I would need help. I found LS Training and within a week, Laura Su had me feeling quite an improvement. Laura has a keen eye and can detect the most minor incorrect movements, keeping me from injury. Laura has a wealth of information about all things body related and has kept me on track with proper nutrition as well. I have been working out with Laura since April and I cannot believe the improvement with strength and balance. My general feeling of well being has improved as well. Joining LS Training was the best thing I have done for myself! Thank you Laura Su!
