I was almost 250 lbs.
I had plateaued and was ready to give up on my weight journey. After getting married I’d gained over 60 lbs and couldn’t drop it. I ran into Danny while I was on a walk and he took me in and showed me around.. I was anxious because I’m used to commercial gyms and I thought he’d be pushy but he wasn’t. I did some training with him and he taught me new methods and showed me how to workout smarter, not harder. He was affirming, funny and flexible. In just 3 months he helped me drop 15 lbs when I hadn’t been able to lose more than a pound just to gain it back before I’d met him. The gym is awesome, lots of equipment and membership is affordable. Even his coaching sessions are competitively priced. I ended up going to college and got a free ymca membership, but I still use Danny’s coaching techniques on myself and am building muscle and losing fat extremely quickly. And my confidence is thru the roof.

When touring this gym with the owner, it was easy to see the level of care that he puts into not only the gym itself but also the members. He greeted the two folks that were already there with a smile and by name. He cared that someone hadn’t put their weights away, which shows me that he takes an insane level of pride in the place. And all of that care, will ultimately trickle down to the overall experience at the gym. I’ve seen a lot of locally owned gyms and I’ve met a lot of the owners. Some are really nice, but the gym itself isn’t, or the facility is beautiful, but it’s clear the owners (if you see them) sees you as a number. The passion and pride in this place is clear and I can’t recommend it enough.
Of course I also have to give them a shout out for making such an impact on my national guard unit, donating thousands of dollars of equipment. He could have sold it but instead, when I reached out to him, he sent me away with more than I could’ve hoped for. My unit and myself are eternally grateful and if you read this full review, that alone should tell you that this man is passionate about fitness, coaching, and changing lives. He’s a credit to the community, and this gym is sure to be the fitness jewel of the city.

A gym so good you almost want to keep it a secret. After trying various other commercial gyms in the area I came across MACHOS and decided to check it out. Danny, the owner, is the most down to earth guy that always brings the energy. Easy sign up. NO contracts and is very responsive if you got a question or issue. 24 hour access. Every machine and piece of equipment you could want and everybody I’ve talked to there has been great. This is a real GYM for anybody looking to get after it. The reviews speak for themself. Nothing under a 4 star. MACHOS is the place to go if you are sick of crowded commercial gyms with broken equipment and contracts impossible to get out of. Iron paradise!!

Started coming here instead of the awful purple place about 6 months back.

Equipment is clean and well maintained. Plenty of free weights and machines. We go during peak workout hours and, even then, it has never been so busy that we couldn’t get to the equipment we needed.

The owner and other patrons are all very friendly and welcoming. So grateful to have a solid local gym like this in the neighborhood.

I have worked out all over the country. From warehouse gyms, to private fitness studios, and everything between. Machos gym is the single best gym I've ever worked out in. It's owner and leader Danny has cultivated one of the only gym environments I've ever found that's not only pleasant to be in, but a joy. I have nothing but good things to say. Danny gave us a tour of the gym and hooked us up with a great price to use the the gym during our visit. If you are looking to start your fitness journey or looking for a Gym, Macho’s Gym is the place to be. I personally know the owner who is a Veteran that served in the US Army.

This guy rlly knows fitness (iykyk). Lots of knowledge, but is still a sponge. He is passionate about the youth, and really tries to get the best out of his clients so that they can get the best out of themselves.

He stays on the cutting edge when it comes to training, physical health, and nutrition. The facility has all of the best equipment when it comes to accommodating clients who are all on different levels however, it is constantly being updated.

I have been going to Macho's for a year and a half. Not only have I seen phenomenal results but the support I receive has helped my confidence tremendously. My trainer, Danny, is the owner of the gym. He is not only knowledgeable in strengthening the body but has also taught me a lot about nutrition.
He has absolutely no problem with me bringing my sons in there if I have no other care for them. Danny plays with and sets them up with their own play area so I can focus on my workout.

I started going to Macho's Gym because it opened a few blocks from my house. I kept going because Danny, the owner, has created an awesome little gym on the Eastside. Macho's has specialty barbells and machines that very few other (if any) other gyms in Tacoma have.
