Master Pae and his staff are amazing. He truly believes in the children and adults that attend his classes. We had 3 of our kids attend and right from the start they loved it. Just within two months they showed so much improvement and discipline. If you feel some hesitation I would just say that as a parent you won’t regret let your kids attend. Great place to learn. Very family friendly environment. My spouse and 4 children are training here. I truly enjoy watching them practice at the training center and at home. They work together and test together. It’s a great and productive activity with real life application to do together as a family. The children have opportunities to take the disciplines they have learned at the training center and apply them to real life and earn special uniforms (good attitudes, doing chores, being responsible etc). I have (and will continue) to recommend Master Pae and Mrs. Kim to others. They truly care about the students.

The atmosphere in the class is amazing! I absolutely love the welcoming atmosphere that is to offer, and it feels like visiting family when arriving to class. The younger classes feels like taking care of the young cousins, and the older classes feels like hanging out with the older cousins! It is really great school. Master Pae really teaches the students well. He teaches Taekwondo/self defense in a way that makes it fun to learn but is very strict with his rules. Taekwondo/self defense is for everyone, young and old. He also really loves donuts. I have been coming for two years now and I love it. If you don’t know if you should send your kid here or join yourself just try it out.

My wife was looking for a martial art academy for our older son to take classes. She spent months researching different martial arts academies in the area. After stopping by quite a few places, she finally decided on Master Pae's World Class Martial Arts Academy. This was one of best decisions she made for our son. Our son is much more confident and is more willing to try new challenges than before, both at school and at home. Master Pae’s the best trainer I have ever encountered! You will see a change in yourself if you practice with his guidance. You will see a change in your children if you send them to classes with Master Pae and Miss Pae. They have a unique ability to have fun but also enforce discipline and rule following. (Very important skills for kids to learn growing up nowadays). When you send your kids here, you are investing in your child’s future to mold and shape them into a better person, a responsible person, and a strong-willed person. I have seen Master Pae work with 4 year olds thru 65 year olds age group. He is truly amazing and has an extraordinary gift. Myself and my family all made it to black belt. It was a difficult journey but well worth it! This was a huge milestone for me. I trained even more and obtained a second degree black belt. I have decided to update my review of Master Pae's World Class Martial Arts Academy. I am still giving this training place 5 stars. Many people set a goal to become a black belt. I believe that becoming a black belt is where the journey begins! As a black belt we learn highly advanced punching and kicking defenses. We also learn weapon techniques such as nunchuck's, sword, escrima, and knife defenses. We learn many self-defense techniques. Taking a separate self defense course would be pricey... Master Pae includes these techniques in his classes! Every time I leave Master Pae's class to go home, I leave with a positive feeling. I enjoy my practices there.

I took Taekwondo 15 years ago when my son was in a family Taekwondo class. While I only went 6 months or so I enjoyed it and always wanted to go back and pursue a black belt. About a year ago my son said that he had started at Master Pae’s World Class Martial Arts and suggested that I might join him. He pointed me to his website and I was quite impressed with his credentials. I took the 2 week trial in February; I really enjoyed it and have been going since.

I am really impressed with Master Pae. Not only is he a great Taekwondo instructor, he promotes courage, respect and community and truly cares for his students. He believes that Taekwondo can help people in all aspects of their life. I have seen him accommodate other students with physical difficulties pushes them to do their own best, just as he pushes everyone to do their own best. Being in my mid fifties I was a little apprehensive, but knew I need to get in shape and thought if I go to the fitness center and that after 3 years I will have gone to the fitness center for 3 years, if I take Taekwondo after in 3 years I will have a skill (and hopefully earned a black belt). Each class is about learning and improving skills, so the hour goes by quickly and I have truly had a solid workout.

Would I recommend this for others….. ABSOLUTELY.

Update: I now have my Black belt and am working on my Second Dan (Degree). Things I have learned in this journey have been beneficial in all areas of my life.

After other local experiences, our family found Master Pae's World Class Martial Arts. So far, we couldn't be happier. Our son began almost a year ago, and he has learned a great deal about Tae Kwon Do, personal responsibility, and friendship. We especially appreciate that the educators value more than just the martial arts, often emphasizing confidence, citizenship, and respect for others. All of the instructors know all of the students, and that's a lot of students, by first name soon after meeting them. This makes for a meaningful community. However as soon as I joined master pae's school I have learned many things. He taught me self control and helped me with anger a lot. Over the last few years I have gone through several "two week trail periods" with other martial arts schools all over the Tacoma area, and with that experience I can say that Master Pae is an excellent martial arts instructor. Master Pae's lessons cover everything I personally want to learn and is extremely encouraging despite skill level. My favorite aspect of his classes is that he doesn't just teach curriculum style Taekwondo, he also teaches real life situation self defense techniques that are applicable. His teaching method is very effective and easy to fallow.

A year ago, I was looking for martial arts schools, and I found Master Pae’s World Class Martial Arts Academy. I signed up for the two-week trial, and I have never looked back. Master Pae encourages everyone to be the best martial artist they can be, and never holds unrealistic expectations for any student.

In class, we learn a variety of skills, from the basic techniques and traditional forms to self defense skills and Olympic-style sparring. We even learn weapons skills (bo staff and nunchaku) and practice MMA. He also has many different training strategies to keep the energy in the class up and keep kids focused.

Kids in Master Pae’s classes learn more than just Taekwondo. They are encouraged to do well in school (good behavior and grades), as well as do well at home (doing chores and respecting parents). He truly cares about his students, and he wants to see them succeed in life. The kids love and respect Master Pae, and he is always respectful to everyone in class.

I would definitely recommend Master Pae’s school. Whether you’re thinking about getting your kid into martial arts to help teach discipline or self defense, if you’re thinking about starting because it’s a fun way to get good exercise, or if you want something to do as a family, I would come down to Master Pae’s World Class Martial Arts and ask about the 2-week trial. Well I will say this I learned my lesson the hard way. I had taken my daughter out of his class and I put her right back too. I had noticed that other classes were missing a few things that Master Pae instills in his students. They lacked teaching kids about Discipline, Hard Work, Respect for adults, respect for kids & most importantly the true meaning of Korean Martial Arts. My daughter also noticed this too cause at each class I took her too and believe me there were alot. All she kept saying is "I want to go back to Master Pae" now for a 6 yr. old to say this means Master Pae not only has a positive impact on kids but he also has a deep connection with them. Well let me re-phrase that he has a deep connection with kids that truly hunger to be taught.

My son has been attending Tae Kwon Do classes for a few months now and we could not be happier! Master Pae has a way of instilling discipline in the children without coming across as a drill sargeant. The kids are very eager to please him and he encourages them to be good citizens in class and in the community. My son has so much fun and he is so excited about learning Tae Kwon Do. His family is a great part of the program and we enjoy them all. My brother-in-law and my young nephew have both taken classes at various other schools and they have found Master Pae's to be the best so far. Master Pae's Tae Kwon Do is the best place to practice tae kwon do. He teaches the students with respect and care as if they were his own child. I would know this best because I am his son. My dad is not forcing me to write good about him and his school but I myself am writing this because I am proud of my dad and I am not afraid to talk proudly about him and his business. If I did not know about tae kwon do and most importantly did not know who my dad was I would be in a very hard time right now. But I am his son and I am proud to call him my dad. My son transferred to Master Pae's school about 2 years ago from another area school. We'd been disappointed at the level of instruction and experience at the other school, and had been looking for some time. The change at Master Pae's was AMAZING--he was taught more (depth and breadth), challenged more, and the classes were positive!

He's since earned his black belt, and we continue to attend Master Pae's, despite having moved to Lacey...because of the quality of instruction.
