As the other most recent review noted, this location is closed. I live across the street and tried to set up an introductory class. I called to no answer so I walked on over to check it out. Everything is all packed up and it is a vacant space.

This is a great spot to get in a good workout. I signed up for a six-month membership, but I ended up only going a few times because it can get pretty crowded. Still, they offer a lot of different classes throughout the day, which is a nice perk. The people there are always friendly and full of good energy—Hawi, especially, is awesome!

I can't say enough good things about this gym. I started working out at Mayweather in December of 2023. I tried a class with a friend through ClassPass as something new for us to add to our fitness routine. It may have started casual, but I instantly fell in love with the workout and it didn't take too long before I was maxing out all my CP credits just to book classes here. 3 months later, I downgraded my ClassPass membership and signed up for an unlimited membership at Mayweather instead. Why? Simply put, this gym brings out the best in what a fitness space is supposed to offer. I cannot overstate HOW FUN boxing is!! I was brand new when I started and instantly felt the endorphin rush - it's a skill you're constantly trying to improve on and you want to keep going back for more. Also, the coaches are truly committed to giving you the best workout. They're intentional about how to engage with you - it's the perfect balance of championing and encouraging you but also pushing you to be challenged and improve. Regardless of your skill level or your goals, it's a personal interaction - they're there to bring out the best in *you*. The great thing is I love working out with all the coaches - Hawi, Tots, Mikey - because they each give you something a little different. So I find myself taking classes at different times and different formats just so I can continue learning from all of them. Additionally, I'll take 1:1 personal training with them for more focused time and upskill the areas I want. As a fellow fitness instructor, I appreciate the community aspect of group fitness. And yes, the coaches are great, but what also makes Mayweather special is the community of the members that go there. All around it's just good vibes, good energy, and good people that foster an environment you want to be a part of.

Update:
All the instructors, including Tots, Mikey, Hawi are great, super approachable and bring positive energy. I’ve been attending multiple classes a week as well as private training. The private sessions are great for learning and advancing your technique and pushing yourself to be better. The instructors make sure you have proper form and will help you if you want suggestions on improving, and even stretching guideance.

I really appreciate how welcoming all the gym staff are, members that you see regularly are supportive, and they keep the gym very clean. Boxing and working out can be intimidating but Mayweather welcomes everyone no matter your fitness level.

Prior post:
Great workout. I was not in the best shape when started but the workout and trainers are very approachable and supportive and provide a fun environment. I have been coming for a year+ and want to keep going. The facility is clean, classes are fun and the trainers are engaged in helping ensure you’re using good technique and pushing yourself to develop. Love coming to Mayweather!

Friendly staff and amazing instructors. The gym has a variety of punching bag stations including tear drop bags and buddies. The 45 minute instructor lead classes are the best way to burn 600 calories and build strength.

I’ve been going to Mayweather Boxing in Kirkland for about 6 months now, hitting it up three times a week, and it’s been a great experience. I do personal training sessions with Tatyana, and she’s fantastic. Not only does she pay great attention to detail, but she also knows some amazing stretching exercises and yoga moves that help my body recover after an intense session.

During my personal training, there are usually group classes happening at the same time. That’s when I get to watch Howie and Mikey run their classes. Howie has given me excellent advice on boxing techniques, jump roping, and even diet and exercise tips for outside the gym. Mikey’s group classes and one-on-one sessions are also impressive to watch. Each trainer brings something unique to the table, making every workout session dynamic and engaging.

The energy and camaraderie among the regulars are fantastic. It feels like a community where natural and organic relationships form, which makes working out even more enjoyable. There’s always good energy and vibes, and it’s a place I look forward to going to.

On top of that, there’s plenty of parking available outside, which is super convenient. I’ve got nothing negative to say about this place and how it’s run. If you’re looking for a great fitness experience with excellent trainers, Mayweather Boxing in Kirkland is the place to be!

I am a big fan of this Mayweather gym, coming multiple times a week for over 2.5 yrs. Coaches Hawi, Tatyana, Mikey and Jeremy are thoughtful, knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Although classes occur as a group of 5-25 people, they always go out of their way to work with individuals during that class 1:1, so I always feel I’m making progress on my training technique. I’m especially grateful to Hawi, who adapts my circuit in the MBody strength training class specifically for my specific goals. The coaches also host fun challenges, like the Beast Before The Feast (double-header class on Thanksgiving morning) and the 14-day 1000 push-up challenge (1000 push-ups broken up into reasonable daily goals). After that one in particular, I was shocked to see that doing 100 push-ups in a day wasn’t hard! And they always take a members-first approach to gym changes, asking members to vote on new class times. Finally, they celebrate members as individuals, recognizing members who hit milestones like completing their first 50 classes. I’ve gotten into the best shape of my life at the Mayweather gym in Kirkland, solidified my boxing technique, achieved my fastest ever mile run pace, and completed more push ups in a day than I ever thought possible. Nothing but love for the Mayweather gym and team in Kirkland.

I came in off the street with a unique situation and in desperate need of help. I didn't know what I was doing but Hawi took me under his wing immediately and worked with me through the problem. A truly wonderful coaching experience both physically and mentally. This is the place to go for getting your head on straight with support and dignity.

This review is LONG overdue for Mayweather Boxing and Fitness in Kirkland, WA. After two plus months back in December of 2023, two of our workout Besties (Anna & Lian) asked my wife Julie and I to try a class with them. As we all know, life happens - holidays, work, family, and other things life throws at us with no warning. Thanks to Anna and Lian’s persistent and friendly reminder 🥰, Julie and I FINALLY tried a class on February 12 of this year. OMG the rest is history!🤩 We fell in LOVE ❤️ with the entire experience, Julie signed up for an unlimited membership after that first class with Coach Hawi! I’ll start with Coach Hawi. His genuine approach to ensuring you have the BEST experience as soon as you walk in the gym till the very moment you leave is just the beginning of what we love about Mayweather. Coach Hawi and the entire coaching team Mikey, Jeremy, and Tatyana are all there to help, guide, demonstrate, explain the intricacies and reason for every move in boxing and also each fitness workout you will be performing in class. There is no pressure at all. This maybe your first boxing class or you may have been a boxer. The members are so friendly and supportive, and such a positive community you look forward to seeing! The facility and equipment is well kept and very clean, with a lot of space to workout. I can go on and on why we Love It there. They offer a First Class free, which I recommend (just go to their website and signup) to try and see if you like it. Go and see it for yourself. A BIG “MAHALO” (THANK YOU in Hawaiian) to coach Hawi, Mikey, Jeremy, and Tatyana for their support, motivation, and inspiration to always give it our Best In Every Class!🙏🏻🥊🥊❤️😍

Feeling disrespected…..

Never in my entire 22 years of living in America have I ever felt so disrespected by a local business/gym that I have been strongly supporting for the last 12 months (I introduced some people there as well)

I woke up this morning really looking forward to attending a boxing class that is 20 miles north of where currently I live. When I was stopped and told by a new person at the front desk (I spoke with him a couple of times before and know his name) I couldn’t be allowed to attend the class because I was late (a few mins) which is policy they have to enforce. Understood the policy enforcement piece and totally respect that.

What really hurts the most is after asking politely for a one-time exception from both the front desk and the owner, I was told to leave and what’s even worse is that another gym member walked in a few mins after me, was allowed to attend the class without any resistance and interrogation.

I asked the front desk if they would let that member attend the class? Then the front desk staff slowly approached the other member and told him the class already started. The member was already boxing in a few mins because according to the front desk staff the member got permission from the coach (which I didn’t see at al) while I was still at the front desk. I decided to cancel my membership at last and no one even bothered to ask.

How would you feel if you were in my shoes. A few messed up parts here:

1) being told to leave the gym
2) gym policy of one-time exception from coach is different from the owner/front desk staff
3) I was stopped but the other gym member wasn’t
4) no one bothered to ask or showed any type of remorse when I volunteered to cancel my membership which just goes to show you they don’t value your business at all.

The difference in treatment and selectively enforcement of gym policy is what really upset me. At the end of the day, it’s still a service/people business. I am not referring to or asking for privilege or favored treatment here, but being rigid about policies will hurt you more than it will help you. It is more than just the membership dues of 199 per month, please also consider people’s time spent in commuting to the gym. Time is priceless!

I have been working out here for almost 2 years. This isn't just a boxing gym; it's a place where passion, dedication, and community come together to create an unforgettable experience.

I should start by saying that I've never considered myself an active person. Exercise was never something I looked forward to, and I often found it challenging to stay motivated. However, the coaches here go above and beyond to ensure that you not only learn the fundamentals of boxing but also develop a deep love for it. I love working out there, always looking forward for the next workout, and would even wake up at 5 in the morning just to work out here, something I never thought I would do.

If you are looking for a boxing gym with passionate coaches and a strong sense of community, look no further.

If you are looking for a place to exercise where you truly feel welcome, then look no further! I've been a full member for about 3 months now and I am so glad that I joined. I do boxing here at the Mayweather gym about 3 days a week. I am sweating bullets every single time and I feel great afterwards!

They offer a variety of different classes and times, they even offer personal training sessions that are a great way to get more one-on-one time with your favorite coach. I just finished with my second PT session and my coach is writing me a weightlifting routine that I can do at home when I'm not at the gym boxing. Today we went over all the different exercises and the proper form.

All of the coaches are amazing and are really what make this place great! They motivate the class and you can tell it is sincere. They do mini one-on-one sessions throughout the class and make you feel like they truly want you to improve your boxing skills or get that good workout.

I already feel like I have more energy, confidence and feel better about myself in general. They offer free classes to start, so there's nothing to lose. Just give it a try, you might enjoy it!

See you there!

It’s time for an update on my previous review.
Mayweather Boxing and Fitness still earns its 5 stars.
In fact, Hawi, the Studio Manager, has hired a number of excellent coaches. In addition to Hawi and Tatyana, coaches now include Emily, Jeremy, Melissa and Mikey. Each of them have their own style to make each class fun and challenging. In addition, an additional evening class has been added to the schedule. Quite simply, you can’t go wrong with Mayweather Boxing + Fitness. It’s a welcoming and supportive environment with great members as well.

Great in all respects: Great instructors, great facilities, great workout and great all 'round vibe.

Now, after being a member for 1 year, since the opening, it’s time to update my review.
This review covers opening growing pains, new studio management, coaches and trainers, facilities and equipment, classes and private training. First, opening/growing pains effect many businesses. Mayweather Boxing is no exception, but the issues were addressed, resolved and are now ancient history. There have been personnel changes and now Hawi Gezai, Studio Manager, is attentive and dedicated to operating a business effectively and he continuously strives to ensure each member feels welcome and appreciated. Second, the coaches are excellent. In addition to managing the studio, Hawi, is great trainer as well, leading classes and personal training. As a coach, he helps members of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential, sharpen technique, skills and have fun. Tatyana Pilot, another trainer similarly focuses on helping members develop and improve in a positive and fun environment. They each have their own style, but compliment each other well. Third, the facilities are first rate and the studio and equipment are clean and well maintained. Fourth, the classes offer a wide variety of boxing, fitness and strength training. Classes include 5-6 rounds of boxing, 1 round of cardio and 1-2 rounds of fitness/strength. The new class, M Body, is a non-boxing workout that focuses on the whole body, building a strong foundation for boxing. There is no sparring or contact, but the trainers will certainly challenge you with focus mitts. Oh, classes have been added based on member feedback and commitment for class times and days, even though the schedule already includes morning, mid day and evening classes. Are the classes effective? Yes! resoundingly so! Each class class will challenge you, but in a new, different and good way. Additionally, both Hawi and Tatyana are available for private training. Lastly, the members are a great group of people, welcome new members and freely offer them help or advice. Plus, there are no egos,
My recommendation: 5 stars, but check it out. First class is free. I think you will be hooked.

I have been going MBF Kirkland for 3 months now. It’s one of the best fitness/ boxing gyms out there. The coaches and staff are really genuine and hard working. This place does have a lot of regulars and everyone is really nice. It has a great sense of community. 💙

I wanted to start working out more regularly and heard about boxing from a couple of friends. When I was helping a clinic nearby with their new office launch, I saw this gym nearby. I decided to try it out and had such an amazing experience with all of the staff members including the coaches Tatyana and Hawi.

They push you to be your best and are personable with everyone who stops by for the first the time or have been going for a while. I have had experiences having gym memberships where things are always broken or not clean, definitely not an issue with this place. It was nerve-wracking trying to learn something new but I would say it's definitely something worth checking out.

I was scheduled for a 6:45 PM trial class and arrived before my appointment. I was welcomed at the door and asked to fill the guest form. Upon completing the guest form I was told I could not be admitted to the class because I didn't show up 30 minutes before the class. I wasn't informed during the booking to show up 30 minutes before the class and upon arrival I wasn't informed as well. Not sure why they would have me fill the guest form before telling me this and not let me take the class.

They insisted the 30 minutes was for guest experience but turning a client that showed up on time doesn't bode well for customer experience, especially if they weren't informed about that window ahead of time.

My partner and I we're extremely disappointed with the customer service. This gym lost not one potential client today, but two. Hopefully the team takes this feedback into consideration and improve customer service. Thanks.

SCAM!! When you signup they’re so friendly and lovely but once you want to cancel everything changes. No one informed about the cancellation fee or the no show up fee. I’m not the only one who experienced this (see other reviews).
Manager is sooo rude, he screamed at me over the phone and accused me of not remembering (as he did with other customers- see reviews). Will not recommend this low performing gym to anyone.

Update:
Sir you screamed at me over the phone and accused me of not remembering and when I told you I have good memory you challenged me to recite what happened exactly when I first signed up. When I did you said “all sales ppl are trained to mention the cancellation blah blah”. As for the contact I never received one via email, it could’ve gone to spam for all I know.
And for the person who signed me up, when pulled the “contract” on the screen to sign, do you what was showing up? The signature box ONLY where here clicked Next, Next and let me sign without explaining a thing. So yeah it’s definitely a scam.

You charge people $500 dollars to cancel their membership and don’t disclose it upfront. Says a lot about your management when you rip people off!

Source: Google

Alex Madkour

★ 1

I’ll describe since you asked.

1-You will not allow any form of cancellation unless you come in to cancel in person. This is a cheap move, making it extra hard to cancel if someone is traveling or busy that they don’t have time.

2- I cancelled on June 7th, and your gym proceeded to charge me on June 10th, then process the cancellation on the 11th. Another cheap move that any respectable business would not do.

3-I’m charged a $200 cancellation fee. Even though when signing up I asked if I can cancel anytime with no issues and they said yes. They failed to say if you cancel you’re member you get charged $200. If I knew that I wouldn’t have signed up.

4-Your response to this 1 star review is unprofessional. You have no idea how to manage customer service. I’m spreading the word and making sure no one I know thinks of signing up here because of your crook like business practices.

I started coming about a month ago, and historically have been terrible at actually going to a gym and taking workouts seriously, as can be vouched for by 8 months of paying for LA Fitness and going all of 3 times. This place made me feel welcome from the first trial class I took, with the instructors spending some time to teach me how to wrap and get the base techniques down. I started with just 4 classes, used those up and went to 8 and now moving to unlimited as it really motivates me to get better.
My experience with all the instructors that I’ve had (Trevor, Emily, Hawi) have been great, and the classmates I’ve had have been encouraging and welcoming from day 1. I highly recommend coming here if you want to get motivated and stay motivated to take your health to the next level.

They have the best workout for cardio, I really felt the motivation and made me want to come back again. I honestly couldn't handle the entire class haha, I had to have a few breaks because it's really hard but at the end, you really burn a lot of calories.

The place is clean and the equipment has good quality, I really recommend this place for people that want to have an intensive cardio workout or professional boxing classes.

I joined in June before opening and went to the first class @10am on Friday, 12/17/2021. The trainer was professional and said that she was available at 10am on Fridays when my friend and i inquired the morning classes on the weekdays. Later, my friend called to ask f they would have AM classes at 9am or 10am in the future and they said they were working on it.

Here is their current class schedule

Mon-Fri 6am, 8am, 5:45pm, 6:45pm (4 classes)
Sat/Sun 9am, 10:30am (2 classes)

I waited but no more classes were added on.
I received an email in the end of December about one of the members who got Covid so let us be aware. Not sure if they sanitized the facilities. On Jan 6th, I stopped by the store and asked the manager if they will add more AM classes on the weekdays. The answer was no so I decided to cancel the membership. I got charged it again a few days later and asked the bank to dispute the charge. They kept on harassing me with the text messages and said I still have to pay one more payment because of the contract.

On 3/11, they tried to offer me an 12pm class through the message on Yelp when I am only interested in 10am class on the weekdays due to my work schedule. Initially, they made you believe that 10am classes would be available. It is a lie. Now, they blamed this on other members for lack of classes. They do not offer the classes that they promised but still demand the payment. They will send my case to the debt collector.

On 3/31, I called to talk to the studio manager, Tyrone, and he screamed at me on the phone when I asked them why they still asked for the payment when they are not able to provide the class. He told me that it's not all about me so I was selfish. They could not open that class just for me. I had to go out of my way to their class. To be honest, if the instructor didn't say that she will be available at 10am on Fridays on the grand opening day, the staff here did not tell us that they were working on to get that class. I would not have waited 2 weeks to cancel. I am paying the service that I do not receive!

Be aware when you choose the gym!!!

THE BEST WORKOUT. First and foremost, the coaching staff here is top notch. They are so kind, encouraging and helpful. They make you feel part of the community from day which makes coming in that much better.

I used to do OTF and while that was also a great workout, I burn a similar number of calories here AND I have fun doing it. Boxing is a great life skill so I love learning this skill while getting in a great workout.

If you are interested or looking for a fun and dynamic workout with great people, try this place out. You won't regret it!

What an amazing place to workout at. The staff are all top-notch and go out of their way to help you and provide information. Coaches Hawi, Emily and Greg are the kind of coaches that care about what your needs are and not just there running a business. Don't get me started about the workouts! :0) If you are looking for something different than the same old gym experience you should check this place out. If you are looking to get in good shape this place checks ALL the boxes. Don't worry if you have never tried boxing, they teach you everything you need to know. They have morning and evening classes so it should work for anyone's schedule. Try it, you won't be sorry!

Beware of sharing your personal information with them. When they opened up, they started emailing and texting me about a payment due when I never visited this establishment. The information was shared only so that I can know when they open up. I had a baby daughter after that and got busy with her.

I called them up and and the front desk person (12/21/2021) said the membership was cancelled successfully. I still kept on getting emails and messages and today I get one saying my bill would go to collections!

I call up and visit the gym manager today because he wasn’t willing to cancel the and he said it’s my fault for not calling and cancelling before 12/28/2021. I said I did cancel and he blamed me for not remembering who I talked to. I tried to show him my call records but he wouldn’t listen. I said it’s bad customer service and you should understand that with a 2 month old daughter I won’t remember who I spoke to. The only solution he offered was to buy the membership and it can start from today. I told him I have a newborn at home and it’s pointless for me. He said that’s the only way he can cancel.
