This gym is wonderful and the trainers are really nice. I just started new and all trainers are very helpful and friendly, and same for the group. In the beginning of the session you always do stretching and warm-up – it is always funny and enjoyable.
But when they start the 3 fans on the wall, then it gets heavy. That is not fun anymore. They really make you fit.
Highly recommend!

Been there for almost a month now and feel great! I’ve lose some weight too!! A really warm community welcoming all levels and help me keep a good workout habit(especially when it’s a bit pricy for me so I’ll make sure to not miss any class lol). Class content is different every time so it’s more fun. Group setting is good for me too - I can never persistently doing some repetitive workouts on my own.

TL DR: Excellent gym with awesome instructors and friendly community!
I just joined MKG CrossFit in the last 2 months but I really have been enjoying it! As a beginner (I have never taken cross fit exercise or lift weights ever!), I really appreciate how the instructors there (Scott and Tammy) are really patient, kind and encouraging me in every class. They really explained the techniques really well and made it accessible for me to follow! They really do ensure that I have the correct form in every exercise that I did.. really appreciate how they want to get the fundamentals right! I appreciate the banters and how they made exercising fun. I also really like the MKG community, it seems like everyone who attends the class are really friendly and encouraging to one another. Don't miss their happy hour!

Joining CrossFit class was the best advice I’ve gotten in a while. Within 6 month past I lost 30 pounds, built strength and confidence. It is transformative for body and mind. And everyone around notices that.
I absolutely enjoy the every workout class: it almost never repeats and never gets boring.
This gym has the best coaches to keep friendly but challenging work environment.
The gym accommodates groups of any age, ability and level. Each workout allows to choose your own pace for the day.
The gym apps make it easy to schedule and track results to stay competitive.

I've been coming in for CrossFit classes for about a year now. I started slowly, with 2 to 3 times per week to try things out. After a couple of weeks, I was hooked and bumped it up to 3-5 days. Looking back, there were quite a few things that helped me stay focused. Everyone is super friendly, and there are no egos. Seriously, you'll find a very diverse group of people there, and the wide age range actually surprised me. We always end up sharing a laugh before the workout as we chat about random things. The coaches are amazingly good and understanding, and are always available to work with me to scale workouts if I can't do a specific movement for whatever reason. All the equipment is pretty good and well maintained. The classes are planned in advance, and the week's workout schedule is posted over the weekend, which allows me to plan ahead and make sure I can make it to those classes that I really don't want to miss. During class, we do some warm ups and stretching, talk about the workout, and learn whatever new moves we need, before the workout actually starts.
My initial plan was to get in better shape for a trip back in Oct/2024. Now I can't see myself stopping anytime soon!

Before trying MKG, I had a negative perception of CrossFit and was intimidated by the weightlifting aspect. However, from the moment I first walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. I felt genuinely welcomed—without ever feeling singled out.
I’ve been to many fitness studios and gyms, and most seemed to cater to just one type of person. MKG, on the other hand, has built a truly diverse and inclusive community. I love that the workouts vary every day and can be tailored to any fitness level.
I tend to be highly critical of gyms, instructors, and coaching styles—but I’ve only had positive experiences at MKG. As long as I live in Seattle, I will be a member here!

I have been training here for almost three months now and am loving the atmosphere and vibe of the gym. Everyone is friendly and encouraging of one another. I love the “no judgement” atmosphere. I’ve been to other gyms and disliked others “judging eyes” when attempting to add more weight. This community encourages your fitness growth.
If you’re new to CrossFit or coming back after a long break, this is the place to be! Coach Scott breaks down and shows the correct lifting form for the WOD to ensure safety before adding weight. They will also modify workouts to accommodate restrictions/prior injuries. The coaches here genuinely care about form.
After trying other gyms , the atmosphere, community, coaches and variety of workouts don’t compare.
I’ve been looking for a new home gym closer to work for a while now, and am so glad I found this gem!
If you’re on the fence about trying a new gym, take the leap and come check MKG out! You won’t regret it!

Been going 4 times a week for over a year and have noticed a significant improvement in my overall fitness and physique. I learned all of my CrossFit techniques (barbells, gymnastics) here. I even participated in the CrossFit Open for the first time ever with my classmates here.
In addition to the friendly class atmosphere and challenging WODs, other things I always look forward to are Coach Tammy's Question of the Day and seeing what catchy WOD names Coach Scott comes up with each week.
One underrated aspect is how effective and reliable the warm-up routine is. CrossFit is an intense workout, but I’ve never injured myself here, thanks to that.

I've been a member for about a year and I'm very happy I joined MKG CrossFit in Shoreline. The workouts are challenging but in a good way, and the programming keeps things interesting with a variety of workouts. The gym is well equipped with everything you need for effective training. Coaches Tammy, Scott, and Mary are great at helping you with improving form and offering scaling options. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and fun, and the friendly competition pushes you to give it your best effort. Being able to easily track progress over time is also a great motivator. Overall, I highly recommend it.

I’ve been a member here for almost 4 years and it’s been such an amazing experience. The coaches are personable and extremely knowledgeable. The members makeup a community that I look forward to seeing every day and some have honestly become some of my really good friends (coaches too), and the programming is fun and creative. The staff is great about scaling workouts if you need it, or pushing you to your limit for growth. If you’re looking for a fun place to meet new people and get a good workout, this is it.

It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten excited about doing activity, it can be intimidating when you feel like some things are so out of your reach. In just 3 weeks I’m already feeling so much better, stronger, and actually proud of some of the things that I’m trying out for the first time! Coach Scott really has a welcoming way about how he presents these different workouts each day, making some adjustments for me while I learn and get better, which I really appreciate, and everyone is so nice and encouraging. I’m so glad I found MKG!

When it comes to gyms, culture and inclusion are very important to me. At Crossfit MKG these values among others are part of the mantra they live by.
I have found Crossfit MKG to be very sensitive to the varying needs of their members. Recently I had surgery and was out almost 2 months and the support I received upon my return was invaluable in regaining my former strength and stamina.
Every class I go to, I can expect a hello from the coach and a review of movements so that I can be successful in completing the workout to the best of my ability.
All successes are celebrated, large and small. The coaches lead with a warmth and passion that makes coming to class a satisfying experience every time.

I've been a member for a couple of weeks now and I am loving it! The coaches are friendly, knowledgeable and fun. This is the smallest box that I have been to but somehow it just works... good planning? Lol. But what's most important is that I don't feel like just another number for commission, I feel like a person here.

Just some personal context before my review:
Before starting at MKG Crossfit in July 2022, I can safely say I had not done any meaningful exercise/fitness since high school/college, so give or take 10 years. So this review is being written by someone who essentially had very little experience with gyms/really anything fitness related, as most of the exercise I did do when I was younger was just long distance running (CC+track and field). Also, I'm a total desk jockey both professionally and recreationally.
It's safe to say I was very much a clean slate and had no idea what to expect not only at this gym, but in the world of Crossfit in general.
So where to begin...
All the coaches are fantastic. They really listen to your goals/needs to help you get the most out of whatever you are looking for fitness wise. They prioritize safety above all else, and will dynamically scale the workouts for every member of the class if needed to match every single person's fitness level (if the 3 already suggested levels of difficulty don't quite fit). An emphasis is placed on doing the movements/workouts correctly, rather than encouraging you to bite off more than you can chew.
How is that possible you may ask?
The classes are kept small. I don't believe the classes ever have more than 12 slots which makes it very easy for the coaches to sprinkle 1-on-1 time and attention to anyone that may need it. Speaking as an amateur, my sprinkle is admittedly really more of a downpour and yet the coaches still have time to make their way to the other members of the class.
Lastly, the coaches themselves are very attentive and knowledgeable; and more importantly, if there is something they do not know, they will not try to pretend they do know and put their students at risk with questionable info. No egos to be found here. That being said, the gaps in knowledge seem incredibly few and far in between.
On the topic of egos; the members of this gym are all so helpful and encouraging. I've somehow yet to witness any bad vibes or rude comments between any members or staff. Everyone seems to be on the same page of just doing your best, and having a fun time doing it. The more experienced members are also very willing and enthusiastic about giving tips to those less well versed.
The equipment: Every member has a designated area with matching equipment that will be used for the workout that day. Even if a class is full, you usually have a very adequate amount of space to do your workout in peace without colliding with anyone.
Cons: The only real con I can think of is that scheduling on the weekend is very limited compared to the business week, so obviously an issue if you are a weekend warrior.
Oh actually, I can think of one more con;
I feel like I got very lucky with this being my first gym, any future memberships at other locations are bound to disappoint me because of the high bar Crossfit MKG has set for my expectations.
Just try this place out, you won't regret it.

Been a member for almost 8 years, and have nothing but positive things to say. Not a meathead gym, all abilities coexist and members are supportive of each other. The coaches at MKG can find a way to accommodate any issues, from injuries to disabilities. It's a very welcoming environment and I love the community. I hope to be a member for many more years to come!

When I moved to the area, I wanted to find a gym that was conveniently located, so I tried out MKG. I feel very lucky to have found them. I think a lot of folks are intimidated by the term "cross fit" But this is crossfit in the best way possible - collaborative, so you get to know your fellow gym members, intentional, and safe. Tammy and Scott, plus the other coaches prioritize teaching everyone good technique and assuring that we are working out safely and sustainably. It really doesn't get better than this, as far as local gyms go!

I had barely ever set foot in a gym before joining Crossfit MKG in Nov 2019. It's been a wonderful experience. The workouts are varied and can be easily scaled to accommodate skill/fitness levels. They have created a warm, supportive and encouraging community environment in which people can learn, play and sweat!

I first started CrossFit at MKG years ago and have been with them ever since. Every time I have travelled or visited other gyms, nothing compares to the quality of programming, care and heart the coaches provide here. Starting at a new gym or trying CrossFit for the first time can be extremely intimidating but the coaches here will take the time to get to know you, look after you but most of all help you grow stronger and better. Cannot recommend this place enough. They are the best of the best!

MKG is a very professional gym. The coaching is spot on, they monitor your form for safety, give you good pacing suggestions for the workout and above all they champion safety both in the workout, but also during COVID-19. I joined during the pandemic and have been impressed with their measures to have everyone mask up, frequent disinfecting and make sure everyone adheres to all guidelines. I feel safe working out here and feel challenged. I’m frequently spent after every workout.
I’m also very impressed that they offer scale options for every movement and that this is a low pressure environment. You set your level of challenge and coaches will help you keep accountable to your goals.
Highly recommended.

MKG has become a second family for me. I didn’t realize how much I looked forward to attending class until the pandemic forced the gym to close for a few months. They’ve done a terrific job adapting to COVID-19, implementing amazing protocols to keep everyone safe and socially distanced. Equipment is thoroughly cleaned between each class.
The programming is well thought out to help you improve your fitness, regardless of your current skills or fitness level. The coaches are great at adapting movements for each individual, making sure workouts are meaningful, but still safe.
I couldn’t recommend MKG more, regardless of whether you’re an experienced athlete or just trying to improve your fitness.

I've been a member for almost 3 years and have really grown to love the community of coaches and classmates. All of the coaches are fantastic, giving each student the time and attention needed to be a successful athlete. Safety is stressed, which I appreciate, and each workout is encouraged to be modified to reflect your current fitness level. I feel like all of the coaches are invested in ensuring that I reach my goals. The Olympic Weightlifting program has really been critical in improving my fitness and skill level. The coach has a high level of expertise and I really enjoy the programming. I've attended many different gyms and this has definitely been my best experience!

Really happy with MKG CrossFit! I started with their On-Ramp class this January, and so far it's been exactly what I was looking for. I've never been a big gym person, and was looking for something varied where someone told me what to do =). The coaches and community here are great - they focus on making sure you can do the movement correctly / safely, and scaling things to people's abilities. Very welcoming and friendly environment for newcomers.
