I’ve been training at this Muay Thai gym for six months, and it’s been an amazing experience. The atmosphere is friendly, motivating, and perfect for all levels.

Andy, the owner and the rest of coaches , are outstanding. He’s extremely patient, knowledgeable, and always takes his time to guide me step by step. You can tell he truly cares about his students and wants everyone to improve at their own pace.

I highly recommend Muok Boxing to anyone who wants to learn real Muay Thai, get in shape, and train with someone who genuinely supports your growth. This gym is the best choice you can ma

My boyfriend and I have always wanted to pick up Muay Thai, but did not know where to start. Muok has a free trial that allows you the opportunity to test out the class before committing to their class plan. The first time we came to the free trial we didn’t pay attention to come to class 15 mins early so when we arrived 5 mins early we didn’t have enough time to get a run down of what to expect. Make sure you don’t make our mistake! :)

Luckily, coach Andy was so kind and understanding. He allowed us to rebook our free trial and meanwhile while we wait till our next free trial class we can observe the people taking the class. Now the rest is history and we love taking classes here (even without the other partner there). Muok has really catered an inclusive environment for all genders to participate in. Everyone was so patient and kind that it really encouraged me to get better and foster an understanding that everyone starts from somewhere. We can’t wait to meet future Muoks that want to join in on this journey of self improvement.

Also, if you ever want to hold your account while you go on vacation you can! That’s the reason why we love Muok too. We can travel and hold our accounts while knowing that our membership will be waiting for us to come back. Highly recommend anyone to join Muok!

I went to Muok Boxing for just under two months (maybe about 30 classes) before moving out of Seattle. I went having no prior Muay Thai experience and the gym was a perfect fit. I really valued the culture. Everyone was very nice and respectful and the gym did a great job maintaining this culture while staying intense. People pushed me outside my comfort zone but to a degree I was OK with, which really was exactly what I was looking for. There were no aggressive personalities, just a few stories of aggressive people who were no longer allowed back. I also liked how the classes were often super intense on the cardio, but they were almost entirely training as opposed to pure fitness (burpees, sit-ups, etc.), which is nice if want to really spend your time working on technique and actual Muay Thai. The last thing I'd note I appreciated is that they have padwork classes, general classes, and partner drill classes, so you can have a sense of what you are doing that day. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of joining this gym for a few months. The beginner classes are great, a bit big for my tastes but they were solid workouts. I enjoyed the strength classes better as they were smaller and it was more of what I wanted. Good facilities but make sure to come early for parking. All the instructors were great and everyone was here to work out and have fun.

Muok is an extremely professional and well organized gym. There are a variety of classes focusing not just on muay thai but also strength and agility. I particularly enjoy the strength training classes on Saturday mornings. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the coaches are ready with personalized advice and unique training styles. I always feel like I am getting the best possible feedback. It takes me a bit to understand a lot of the things we learn but the coaches and other students have always been so patient and welcoming. I also really appreciate the focus on safety. I highly recommend muok to any skill level of fighter.

I just got back from Thailand and was really hoping to find something authentic back home, and this gym with Coach Andy has been exactly that. He puts a ton of focus on the technical side of Muay Thai, making sure you actually understand the movements instead of just rushing through them, and the mix of sparring and learning feels spot on. Andy’s a great coach, super personable and funny, but also strict in a way that makes you want to push harder without ever feeling uncomfortable. You can tell he really cares about everyone’s progress, and the class sizes aren’t too big so you get closer, more personal attention. The vibe in the gym is welcoming, motivating, and just makes you want to keep coming back!

Highly rec, and the first class is free so why not try!

Excellent Training Experience -

I had a great time getting back into Muay-Thai at Muok for the Summer. The location is convenient for me (I'm in Beacon Hill), the frequency of classes lined up well with my schedule, and the quality of instructors was very strong.

The gym atmosphere strikes a great balance between intense/focused but also approachable. Classes are varied, balanced, and genuinely fun.

Andy is clearly dedicated to his craft and has created a high-quality program.

I'll certainly be back when the schedule opens up again.

I wish I signed up sooner!

This was my first time signing up for Muay Thai classes and I’m so happy to have signed up with Muok Boxing Club.
Andy (owner) was very welcoming and made signing up really easy.
The vibe here is great. Even as a beginner entering, there were no egotistical personalities to make the experience feel intimidating. Everybody was patient and encouraging with me.
Their polices are reasonable and they offer a lot of classes / time slots - so you’re sure to find a class to sign up for even with a busy work schedule like myself.
I highly recommend checking this place out.

I was only able to train at Muok for about a year due to personal circumstances, but I had a great time while I was there. The coaches are caring and attentive, and the overall vibe is hard training and positive attitudes. I came to Muok after a few decades in a different style, and am a bit older (and, to be honest, less fit) than most of the people there. It didn't matter: everyone was supportive, and the coaches are good at making you work without overtraining or hurting yourself. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to give Muay Thai a try.

I've always wanted to get into martial arts for years. I found Muok after researching the top gyms near me. I started following them on Instagram and was hooked by what I saw. I'm glad I made the jump in January 2025. As I mentioned above, this was something new to me, but I can confidently say that this is the best Muay Thai gym in the West. Muok is as authentic as they come. Every interaction with other members and trainers/coaches has been fulfilling, providing quality lessons and great vibes. This gym knows how to have fun and get work done at the same time. If you are considering a gym, I recommend giving it a shot and signing up for the trial class. I promise you will finish class a better person, not only physically but also mentally. It is my happy place, and I think it can be yours too. Take that leap and give it a try.

Muok has been an excellent gym to train at! I'm brand new to Muay Thai and I felt very welcome here.
The coaches are all very knowledgeable and make sure you have the movement right.
The thing I've appreciated the most about Muok has been the wide variety of classes offered. This gym is one of the best Muay Thai gyms out there.

They have the perfect balance between 1) proper Muay Thai (not kickboxing) technique, 2) actual intensity, 3) friendliness/welcomingness and community.

Good class but I needed to cancel so did so on app, app said my membership was cancelled but apparently was not and needed to call to cancel. They have now changed their app but would not refund two months of classes I did not attend. I believe they changed their app because this is a bit unintentionally deceiving, they would not refund even half of the money, even though it’s well documented that I didn’t go to any classes. I would recommend these classes, but make sure you read the agreement fully

This is a spectacular place to learn Muay Thai.

This gym breeds discipline, composure, and grit. The coaches are sharp, technical, and unafraid to push you when they see potential. From day one, they treated me like someone capable—not just another body on the mat. You don’t get spoon-fed here. You’re expected to earn it. And that’s exactly why it works.

I came in with zero formally trained Muay Thai experience and walked away with sharper movement, stronger defense, and real sparring insight. You’ll get humbled, you’ll get hit, and you’ll get better.

The vibe is intense, but grounded. Coaches actually watch. They give feedback. And if you show consistency and respect for the art, they invest in you—more than you’d expect.

Also... hygiene. Wear deodorant. Wash your gear. You’ve been warned. 😂

Leaving due to work relocation, but this gym made an impact on me. If you want to fight, move with intention, and carry yourself like someone who respects the craft, this is where you start.

Highly recommend.

If I could award more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

Training at Muok has been an extraordinary experience. Andy and his team possess an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience, and they demonstrate a rare ability to communicate techniques clearly and effectively, catering to individuals of all skill levels.

What truly sets Muok apart is the culture they’ve cultivated. There’s a strong emphasis on rigorous, technical training that is both playful and safe. Their Muay Thai curriculum is evidence-based, thoroughly proven, and thoughtfully structured—each technique builds upon the last, ensuring continuous progress. It’s truly the best training environment I’ve encountered!

The team at Muok is exceptionally intentional about ensuring that every rep counts. Not only do they focus on providing a high volume of reps, but they also ensure each one is of high quality. They take the time to correct form, offer insightful adjustments, and provide the kind of nuanced tips that help take your skills to the next level.

Furthermore, the strength training program here is top-tier. Joe has developed a evidence-based curriculum that emphasizes sustainability and functional strength, not just for Muay Thai, but for enhancing everyday life. The team’s ability to seamlessly combine high-intensity training with an unwavering focus on safety and long-term sustainability is truly unique and unparalleled.

The community at Muok is another highlight. The camaraderie and support among members is extraordinary. Everyone is welcoming, encouraging, and genuinely invested in each other’s success. Whether it’s offering pointers, helping each other with extra reps, or simply pushing each other to improve, the team spirit here is contagious. And, of course, we share plenty of laughs along the way!

If you’re seeking world-class Muay Thai training within a vibrant and supportive community, Muok is the place to be!!

If you're on the fence just come for a trial class so you can experience it yourself, I promise you won't regret it.

I was skeptical about joining a Muay Thai gym since I had never done any martial arts before, but after training at Muok Boxing for four months, I can honestly say it’s been incredible. The coaches are great—they don’t just run drills but take the time to correct your technique and work with you one-on-one to help you improve. My technique has gotten much better, and every class is an intense workout where I really break a sweat.

What truly makes Muok Boxing special is the community. It’s a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone helps each other get better. Whether you're a beginner like I was or have experience, this is a great place to train. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality Muay Thai training around great people!

When I first moved to Seattle at the end of 2023, I was looking for a Muay Thai gym to join. Muok was one of the first results that came up on Google - I took the free trial class and haven’t looked back since. I think what sets Muok apart from other gyms is its community, level of instruction, and emphasis on personal growth.

Community - I did martial arts growing up and I think trying out a new discipline and finding a new gym can be a super intimidating experience. That was not the case for Muok! I still remember my first trial class, Andy took the extra mile to text me beforehand to check that I found parking, and when I got in he was super welcoming and made sure I didn’t feel out of place. The culture he has created for the gym is super evident - everyone has a passion for Muay Thai and is so kind and willing to share advice in a way that is conducive to growth.

Instruction - The level of instruction at Muok is second to none! Andy and the rest of the coaching staff pay attention to all the small details and walk around to give us tips. I’m always learning something new each time I go to class.

Personal growth - Everyone has their own goals with Muay Thai, be it fitness, passion, competition, or something else. What I love about Muok is that all these different people with different goals can co-exist in the same learning environment. For me, I have a long history of ACL and meniscus injuries and don’t get to come to class as often as I’d like - but each time I go, I feel like I can pick up where I left off. I’m at the gym because I want to stay active and I love sports and martial arts, and Muok gives me an environment to exercise that passion. It’s also worth calling out that Andy and Joe are PTs and they also have strength and conditioning classes, so the gym is great for those with history of injuries - you’re never forced to do anything you’re uncomfortable with!

To sum up, if you’re in the greater Seattle area and looking for an authentic Muay Thai gym with a super down-to-earth community, Muok is the place to be :)

I took a free trial class at Muok in December, and after an amazing experience, I knew I had to join. I officially became a member in January, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I primarily attend the Fundamental Muay Thai classes, but I also really enjoy the Mobility & Agility class on Fridays with Kit. This is my first time training Muay Thai—or any martial art for that matter—and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic.

The coaches here are top-notch:

Andy is incredibly personable and knowledgeable, making every class engaging and informative.

Van is relentless in the best way possible—her energy and coaching style push you to improve every session.

Ryan has a highly technical approach, and the clinch techniques he’s taught in just a few sessions have been priceless.

Beyond the coaching, my favorite part of this gym is the supportive environment. More experienced members go out of their way to help and guide newcomers, making the learning process much more enjoyable.

If you're looking for an authentic, down-to-earth Muay Thai gym in the Seattle area, I can’t recommend Muok enough. Start with the free trial class—you won’t be disappointed!

My favorite class is Strength Training with Joe R. He incorporates his expertise as a physical therapist to help you understand which areas to focus on and improve your athletic abilities. On top of that, with each class you learn a lot from Andy and his team of super talented athletes and practitioners.

I started at Muok a year ago with no prior combat sports experience, and the journey has been incredible. I've learned so much—not just about punching and kicking, but also about the various philosophies and perspectives that each instructor and student brings to the sport. The community here truly reflects Seattle's diversity, with people of all ages, ethnicities, genders, socioeconomic backgrounds and skill levels. Some are training for fights, while others are here for the workout. Stick around and you'll definitely form meaningful connections. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, approachable, and skilled at breaking down the technical nuances that make a seemingly simple move, like a kick, effective. What really stands out is how invested Andy, the owner, is in the gym and its members. Instead of just pocketing profits, he reinvests in the gym, continually upgrading the space and equipment, and he has exciting plans to make the gym even more welcoming in the future.

Whether you're a beginner or seasoned fighter, Muok has something to offer for everyone.

Muók boxing offers an approachable Muay Thai experience to all levels. My training experience here has been nothing but exceptional. I’ve viewed trainers work with students of all levels and I’ve appreciated the patience they take with new students, and fire they ignite in those looking to hone their skills. A great gym that invests not only in their students Muay Thai techniques, but their overall fitness; I’d recommend them as my first choice in the Greater Seattle Area.

I’ve been a member of Muok for about four months now, and it’s been an incredible experience. During that time, I've seen the gym continuously invest in its students with new equipment and more class offerings. As a woman in my late 40s with zero Muay Thai experience, I felt welcomed and supported every step of the way by both the instructors and fellow trainees. Being part of this community has been instrumental in improving my fitness, boosting my confidence, and expanding my self-defense skills. Thank you, Andy + Muok Team! Highly recommend Muok for anyone at any stage of their martial arts/fitness journey!

I came here about 3 months ago and have enjoyed all the classes I’ve taken. I appreciate the variety of times that are available for classes. Not only do you learn Muay Thai, but there are classes available to help keep you strong and condition for all the movements you’ll regularly do in Muay Thai. As someone who has had a few too many injuries in the last couple of years, I do appreciate the careful attention the coaches have for my issues. Great group of people all around and I have a lot of FUN here!!

I love this place! I was a savage couch potato. Living that netflix and beer lifestyle. Then I dont know, the spirit grabbed me and was like "get your butt up and start exercising" and I'm like, "bet". So I dive deep in the couch cushions and retrieve my phone. Hit the Google search like "beep boop boop beep" see muok boxing and social and I'm like, "what?..." Grab my keys, hop on my bike, and cruise on over.

At first I thought I was lost. Cause from the outside you just see this warehouse on the side of the road... super in the cut. I go inside and almost instantly knew this was the place for me.

All kidding aside I sign up and just start hitting classes hard! Padwork, sparring, basics, strength and conditioning. How you ask? Well muok is different from other gyms, where most gyms have rather limiting operation hours. Muok provides a schedule that you don't have to move your life around to make room to exercise.

Also they have a double sided approach to your health that is brilliant. They give you the muay thai side, (fundamentals, clinching, sparring, padwork, etc) but they also offer strength training and conditioning. Which is pure strength building, with a sprinkle of flexibility to give that chefs kiss.

Top this off with an amazing social atmosphere led by some of the kindest, knowledgeable, and supportive staff and you have yourself much more than a gym to work out at. You have a community. A pillar of support for whatever your athletic endeavors are. Whether you want to get off the couch and move around, learn muay thai, compete, or just want an engaging social experience centered around promoting health. You can easily, EASILY, find a home here at Muok Muay Thai.

I'll leave off with a personal accomplishment. Like I said, I was a solid sofa warrior. A lot of this in part due to some knee and back injuries I had in my earlier years. Well I jumped in gently loving the process, trusting my coaches and their wisdom. Things I thought I couldn't do, I got encouraged to babystep into trying. I need to take time to shout out coach khan. His knowledge of building strength and flexibility along with his contagious positive energy really made the difference. One day on my way to work downtown. Something amazing happened. I was forced to take the stairs and to my surprise when I took the step... I felt no pain. No wobble. Instead I felt the muscles around my knee carry up smoothly and controlled. I can't tell you how delighted I was. Going up, going down, stairs were no longer a fear to face. This may be a small victory in many others eyes, but this ability to have strength and flexibility in my knees again, opens possibilities I completely thought were lost forever.

Thank you to all the coaches and Andy especially at Muok Muay Thai. Without a doubt the best Muay Thai gym in the city.

I have been training in Muay Thai at different gyms for a number of years. Muok has great teaching and a real sense of comradery among the students. Andy, Ryan, Chris and Nick all have great skills and a strong understanding of Muay Thai. I appreciate that they teach without rambling on and on while the students stand around watching. They explain the concepts/exercises and we begin practicing them right away.

The teachers also have an impressive understanding of why and in what situation various techniques work. I’ve had other teachers who couldn’t explain the “why” of different moves, I find that knowing the “why” makes it easier to know when to use that technique. I appreciate that Andy has a lot of training in Physical Therapy; he and the other teachers don’t tell people to do “macho” things that may cause students to strain muscles/tendons.

The teachers all have a good eye for detail, and they coach individuals during the training exercises, pointing out how students can improve. They are clear in their instruction, which helps the students to learn while practicing. The teachers all understand that it takes time to integrate a change and they revisit details as needed to help students to master the concepts.

Muok is a great place to train and a fun place to work out.

After moving to Seattle, I had a hard time finding a combat sport gym that does a lot of technical rather than your ordinary cardio type. A friend recommended me this gym, so I went in for a free trial and immediately signed up after taking one class! I found my place and people! Wonderfully good-hearted people here in this diverse and caring community that is very welcoming to people of all kinds and walks of life. No egos and no meatheads. Andy and all the coaches are just simply amazing.

I joined 1.5 years ago and I feel privileged to be a part of this community. There's truly a high respect for each other and everyone lifts each other up. Take sparring for example, I've made plenty of etiquette mistakes (like inadvertently escalating) both as a newb and even now, and I've benefited from the control and humbleness from those that could whoop me that instead create teachable moments. It's just a testament to the culture here that that I'm very grateful for.

The many available classes (across strength/conditioning, fundamentals, padwork etc.) affords me flexibility to tune into my goals whether it's been 1 class a week or 3 class a day, and find what works for me on my way to consistently train my body–and mind!

Also, I recently had shoulder surgery and the Muok coaches, many of whom are trained physical therapists, really catered to my recovery needs allowing me to ramp back up in a safe and steady way much sooner than I or my doctor expected! Thank you Joe!

If you're looking for a place to invest in yourself, come try Muok!

I have been a member of the gym since Nov 2023. I have previously trained Muay Thai at several other gyms across the United States. Muok is by far the most technically-focused gym I have trained at. You'll get regular and sound feedback during padwork, sparring, and drills, which is unfortunately not the case at every gym. There also is a high emphasis on light, technical sparring, which is also refreshing. Most members have day jobs, so losing brain cells is not ideal for them.

The gym is clean, and there is also a well-equipped fitness area for weightlifting and conditioning.

The only downside for me is the location is a bit out of the way from Capitol Hill, but I still manage to make it to training 3 times a week.

Muok is truly a safe and inviting place for everyone.
Being a short girl and brand new to this sport, I was very intimidated. But, the culture here was super supportive. Everyone helps the beginners and the coaches make sure that everyone is learning safely.

No big attitudes here. Plus, there’s usually the “short girl” area most days. But if you want to spar the tall guys, that is always an option. Most are gentle giants that would gladly help you train. Especially, the ones that have trained with Andy for a while now.

The atmosphere is motivating and training is always changing to help us better understand Muay Thai.

I appreciate the effort of the coaches, and you can really tell they have a love and appreciation for the sport. They take time to help correct you, as well as push you to be better.

With their help, I feel more empowered and confident after each session.

Also, I have to mention how incredible the community at Muok has been - no matter who I’m in class with, the vibe is always positive and encouraging, absolutely zero judgement, aggression, or toxicity to worry about. Everyone is friendly, supportive, and welcoming to new members. Huge kudos to Andy and his coaches for creating a safe environment for everyone, it’s made a big difference for me and is one of the main reasons I feel excited to come in each day.

If you're looking to challenge yourself in a welcoming and fun environment, check out Muok! The community that Coach Andy and team have built here is amazing – folks with no egos that are kind and helpful, but they'll still be sure to push you!

I was looking to change up my fitness routine and heard great things about Muok. I've enjoyed being a member here for the past year. They have a variety of Muay Thai classes open to all levels, plus strength and conditioning classes that are pretty tough, but leave you feeling so accomplished.

Instructors and advanced Muay Thai students have keen eyes to help me improve my form. Andy is meticulous in studying the martial art, and that transfers into how he teaches us, plus offers up his funny analogies to further explain the moves. All instructors are mindful of any injuries you may have, but also push you when they can sense you've got more to give. They constantly look for ways to improve the space, equipment, and class schedule for the members' benefit.

I travel to Seattle a few times a year and I wanted a way to maintain training while there. I tried Muok based on reviews and I’m glad I did!

It’s off the beaten path and the entrance may not be the most welcoming. Get over that! Once inside, you find a great space and ambience for working out and a community ranging from newbies to fighters that is safe, welcoming and passionate about the sport.

I’ve trained with Andy. Trainers all have different styles and approaches to teaching. Andy has a background in physical therapy and that makes him unique in addition to being a great teacher. You get a great workout but he also explains the body mechanics involved if you’re inclined to know. Beyond that, Muok is a great community without a lot of attitude. It’s a great place to workout, hit pads, work up some sweat, have a good time, and more.

After starting out with zero experience in Muay Thai, I've now been coming here for about 4 months. At this point, I simultaneously feel like I've improved a lot, and I have a ton left to learn. The good thing about Muok is that all the instructors, especially Andy, are really great at teaching BOTH beginner students like me, and the much more experienced ones. I never felt like a total fish-out-of-water when I first started, and I now see myself practicing here for years to come. At this point, I am training 5 days a week, and on my days off I catch myself thinking- "I wish I had gone to practice today!"

I also really like how the gym is focused on the sport of Muay Thai (as opposed to self-defense, or street fighting or something like that)- it shifts the atmosphere away from the super-agro kind of mentality that you'll find in other places, and makes everyone feel more welcome. At the same time though, it's still a real martial art. If you don't kick hard, Andy will tell you "No fitness kickboxing!!"

Hands down the best place to train Muay Thai in Seattle, whether you want to compete or are just looking for a fun and exciting way to stay in shape! The technical quality of the instruction is second to none, with techniques and strategies being explained in an easy to understand manner, but also with a lot of depth. Coach Andy is constantly bringing in new ideas and techniques developed from his thorough analysis of fighters from the golden age to the present day, and is more than willing to suggest avenues for our own personal study to delve even deeper. Especially when it comes to clinching (for me), I've found that I've been able to improve leaps and bounds thanks to the first class instruction.

Additionally, like the name "Boxing and Social Club" suggests, there is a real focus on community that makes this gym stand out. I have developed great friendships with the people I train with regularly, and even with the people who I've only met once or twice. This leads to a great level of trust when doing padwork, and makes it so that if I ever have to miss a lesson, I'm raring to come back. Everybody that I've trained with there feels the same, and the community is what makes Muok a first rate gym. Everyone is looking out for each other and helping each other succeed, and the coaches are excellent both with large groups and in more focused one-on-one instruction, making sure no one gets left behind, and working with everyone to develop strong fundamentals and a style that matches with their talents.

If you haven't trained Muay Thai before, this is an amazing gym to start with! If you have trained Muay Thai before, this is a great gym to continue with, and you may even gain some additional insights that help take you to the next level! Come stop by for a trial, I promise you won't regret it!

Muok is by far my favorite place to train. I've been an athlete my entire life and nothing comes close to the passion, commitment and community I've experienced going to Muok.

When I went in for my trial class I could feel the love of the art everyone shared. They were eager to know my name and didn't hesitate to ask questions to get to know me better. During practice they put their knowledge on display with constructive criticism that made me eager to come back for more. Now I'm 8 months in having the time of my life and learning new things every day, reinforcing the good habits and tossing out the bad.

Inflated egos and unnecessary aggression have no home at this gym and it shows in the way coaches and classmates conduct themselves on and off the mats, communicate their safety needs during practice and extending a hand after to give rides, share food or ask about your day.

If you're thinking of giving Muay Thai a try or visiting Seattle and in need of a gym Muok Boxing is the place to be. Muok is here for fighters and hobbyists alike and personally, I don't think you'll find a better place to train.

I'm a pacifist with anger issues, so I've never wanted to do martial arts as a fitness program.

Andy, the main trainer, is a technical wizard, breaking down the 'why' behind each move, adding a layer of understanding to my training.

What makes Muok truly stand out is the diverse styles each trainer brings to the table. It keeps things dynamic and interesting. I appreciate that it's not just a one-size-fits-all approach; everyone has their unique flair. Beyond Muy Thai, Muok offers strength and conditioning classes as well!

What I cherish most is the absence of egos in this traditional Muy Thai gym. The environment is down-to-earth, and the people training here range from those seeking a good workout to serious competitors. It's a place where everyone is genuinely supportive, creating an inclusive and positive training space.

In short, Muok Boxing and Social is not just a gym; it's a community-driven haven for Muy Thai enthusiasts at every level. I'm genuinely grateful for stumbling upon this gem in my fitness journey. Oooweeee!!!

I love this place. The coaches are all great and I’ve met so many awesome people that I’m grateful to learn with. There’s a strong focus on technique and I really like that they encourage everyone to start sparring as soon as they feel comfortable which is where I’ve improved the most. If you’re looking for a gym, this place is definitely worth a try!

I recently moved to Washington state and joined Muok Boxing and Social Club about five months ago to continue my Muay Thai practice and find a sense of community. I've been genuinely touched by the warmth and friendliness of everyone at the gym, and I've felt truly welcomed during my time there. It's been wonderful to be part of a space where you can be yourself and share many laughs.

The Muay Thai classes, along with the well-structured strength and conditioning sessions, have provided excellent instruction and support. The classes are designed to help members achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be. What's especially reassuring is the absence of meatheads in the gym. This creates a comfortable environment for learning techniques and, more importantly, for engaging in sparring sessions.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Muok to anyone seeking an enjoyable and effective workout within a diverse and inclusive community.

There are many reasons to recommend Muok – I'll try to cover a few. First, there's the astonishingly high caliber of instruction from coaches who've dedicated tremendous time and energy to learning the art of Muay Thai and learning how to teach it. These are some of the best teachers of *anything*, from their understanding of fundamentals to linking together increasingly challenging ideas, translating those ideas into movements, and to conveying lessons expertly and patiently. Second, there's the welcoming environment they've created that provides you with a safe foundation to challenge yourself, and that in turn creates a great sense of community. I noticed within my first week that people remember each other's names pretty quickly. Sounds basic, but it results from a prevailing mentality of care and attention – this isn't common.

But just because the place is "nice" doesn't mean it's soft. I was drawn to Muok because of the positive reviews, but watching class videos sealed it for me because I could see how well people were moving. They're teaching you to fight here, not in a meathead, aggro type of way, but in an incredibly nuanced, thoughtful, not-messing-around fashion. That safe, kind environment? It means that people spar, often, and push each other without being belligerent. And it's not like you have to train for a fight, but 1) if you wanted to, you absolutely could and 2) the mere process of developing this level of mastery has a myriad of benefits, physical and otherwise. If you're thinking about a martial art, or Muay Thai specifically, drop by some time for a Fundamentals class and experience it first-hand.

I joined Muok Boxing in April this year looking for a more structured workout since the LA fitness was always crowded after work. I decided to give Muay Thai a try, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. When I first stepped into Muok, I felt a bit intimidated, but the instructors and members made me feel welcome and part of the community. Their passion for Muay Thai and fitness made me want to sign up and grow myself too.

The teachers at Muok are not only passioniate but also well-qualified. Andy has a doctorate in physical therapy so you can trust that he will ensuring proper technique and guidance while working towards your goals. The conditioning and strength training classes at Muok can have up to 6 people sign up and sometimes don't fill up all the way. This allows for a more personalized experience, with the coaching staff to tailor the workouts to each peron's level. The Muay Thai classes can have around 20 people as well so there's always something for everyone.

Muok Boxing caters to a wide range of interests, including workout sessions, technique improvement, sparring, strength training, and even socializing. This makes it a great place for anyone looking to learn/improve their Muay Thai skills, fitness or even expand their social circle. With experienced instructors, a welcoming community, and training sessions for your preference, it's a great place to achieve your fitness goals. If you're considering giving Muok a try, just try their free trial class. They have equipment available for use, so all you need to do is show up and try it out!

The Muok team is great to train with! You can really tell that they're invested in your growth as an individual and each trainer brings a different style and energy to the mix. I mostly went to the strength training classes and am happy to have noticeable bicep muscles for the first time in my life. I couldn't have done it without the Muok team's guidance on learning the fundamentals and perfecting my form. Thanks so much for all that you do!

Without doubt, this is the best, most traditional and true Muay Thai gym in the city. The coaching is phenomenal, the culture is open and friendly and most of all, there’s no judgment towards anyone. It's a rare thing to walk into a fight gym and see a room full of diverse people laughing and having fun while they put the work in. Muok is that rare blend of a chill, welcoming vibe with legit, attentive, high-level instruction. The instructors, advanced students, and newcomers alike consistently welcome me into the space. Whatever level you're at there's a class option for you, whether you're brand new or want to train to fight.

Andy is a highly technical and strategic instructor with a clear passion for the art. He's also a physical therapist and brings that understanding of human anatomy into the way he coaches. He brings in friends and fellow coaches to add depth to the experience.

Muok is truly a welcoming community and a great space to train.

Andy has created something special at Muok. Whether you're a beginner or a fighter, you'll get something out of your time here. You'll be pushed and supported at the same time alongside a gym full of awesome humans. I've been a part of the Muok fam for about half a year now and I'm grateful for the training and community. Andy approaches the fight game with a combination of authentic Muay Thai, psychological warfare, and creative metaphors. The dude knows his stuff and his passion is infectious - easily one of the best coaches I've had across a variety of sports.

Whether you're brand new to Muay Thai or you're a seasoned competitor, the environment Muok provides will leave you walking away wanting more! Andy is an ocean of technical knowledge, and he breaks it down for you so that it is super easy to understand and apply. As a coach, he has the perfect balance of pushing you to be uncomfortable so that you grow in your technical and physical aptitude but also making sure you enjoy every moment of it. Lots of sweat and lots of laughs!

The Muok community is also super welcoming and friendly. Within the same class, you'll have high-level competitors and brand new practitioners working together to make each other better. There is no ego to be found anywhere on the mats, so students who are newer to Muay Thai have a safe space to learn and grow without any fear of getting hurt.

Regardless of your goals, you will not regret the decision to train at Muok!

I've been training at Muok for almost a year and have trained with Andy for several years prior to the new gym opening. I can't say enough positive things about him as a trainer and the gym community that he's built. Andy is an amazing coach who is passionate about studying the current trends and fight strategies in Muay Thai. He incorporates these strategies in his classes, and I have personally grown so much in my boxing skill thanks to his effective and fun training style. The gym also offers strength and conditioning classes which my wife and I enjoy attending regularly. All of the strength and conditioning coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and put together fun and challenging workouts. The classes are for anyone who wants to improve their fight fitness or even general fitness. One of my favorite things about the gym is it's super supportive and friendly community. There's a pretty even number of guys and gals with no meatheads that can be common in some fight gyms. If you're interested in learning Muay Thai or even just doing strength and conditioning classes, I can't recommend this gym enough.

Muók is all around an amazing gym. The instructors are knowledgeable and patient. The community is kind, welcoming, and fun-loving. And the strength/conditioning programs get you in shape but also keep you coming back.

A combat sport can be intimidating, but Andy, Erin, Van, and Ryan do a great job of making sure everyone is being safe, while also pushing you to grow physically and mentally. And Andy being a physical therapist is a nice added bonus, you know everything is being done with proper form and care.

The space is also super cool and very clean.

This is the first time I've ever worked out at a Muay Thai gym and this is also the first time in my life I've shown up every week. I've been going for almost a year now and don't see myself stopping. Whether you are an experienced fighter or a first-timer you will not regret joining Muók.

I came to Muok in late November 2022 as a super novice, having only trained in Krav Maga with a peppering of Muay Thai. Having missed out on three years of training (remember Covid?) I was out of shape and had the tightest hip flexors that only Life Alert could save. Andy's background in physical therapy and Muay Thai really helped me grow in my short time, as he's been able to help me navigate all of my injuries while also getting effective training and bodily awareness to challenge myself to do better. I also have to shout out Erin, for always switching it up with the hefty conditioning classes that *almost* make me cry every time (in a healthy and productive way).

The whole team behind Muok really create a welcoming and friendly environment. I leave training feeling proud of myself, knowing I've had fun and have learned something new. You can tell that the team and members want you to grow as a Muay Thai practitioner through the diverse classes they offer and the learning environment they foster. I hope to stick around for as long as they'll have me.

Muok has become something of a home away from home the last few months I've been a member. Andy and Erin have built a true community at their gym. They offer Muay Thai training for any experience level, whether it is your first time doing any sort of combat sport, or you're ready to hop in the ring. They also offer strength and conditioning classes to improve overall fitness (classes are really easily stackable if you feel like going back to back). I walk away from every class having learned something new. I also feel like every single member is genuinely so kind and welcoming, and are committed to helping others improve. Muók is the best Muay Thai gym I’ve been to in the Seattle area. It’s run by Andy Le who has a great mind for the sport and is passionate about retaining many of the traditional aspects of the martial art, along with cool instructors like Erin and Ryan who run the strength and conditioning and bag classes. Andy is the type of person to reciprocate your wants and needs as long as you voice them to him. When I first entered the gym back in late December I told him that I wanted to really expand on my fighting style to incorporate more high level moves and a high level mentality into my game - and he consistently offers me the one on one time to learn and level up as long as I continue to show up to classes and put in my own effort.

The community at Muók is probably the best I’ve experienced between gyms on the east and west coast of the US.

There are no gym sharks, gym creeps, or toxic people I’ve observed at Muók. Just real, loving, and kind people who all unite under a common goal of wanting to get better at Muay Thai. On top of the really cool interior design, Muók boasts an extremely healthy environment - I think that’s one of the strongest appeals about Muók, and a big reason why I keep coming back.

He stands out from the rest, his approach to teaching is his own and his passion for Muay Thai is contagious. His classes are similar to those found in Thailand and less like what you would find in traditional martial arts gyms here in the states. He’s also one of the few that can hold pads like trainers in Thai camps, which is essential for those wanting to compete. However, rest assured that Andy and Erin will make your time at Muok comfortable, safe, and filled with new things to learn. If you want to learn muay thai, Andy can take you from beginner to fighter. If you want to get in better shape, he can take you from couch potato to athlete.

I started training with Andy in 2016 as a way of staying in shape while I was in college. I came into the gym without any experience and only a vague idea of what muay thai even is. The atmosphere and community that he fosters is truly special. I immediately felt welcome, and it helped me to fall in love with the sport.

Since then, Andy continues to improve his technique and instruction by leaps and bounds. Along the way, he picked up a doctorate in physical therapy, and that took his abilities as a coach to the next level. You won’t find another instructor with this skill set in all of Seattle. If disability or injury has held you back from getting in shape or giving martial arts a try, you need to give Muok a visit. Andy is passionate about refining and adapting techniques for any situation and can definitely help you meet your goals, regardless of current skill or health impairments.

I've known coach Andy for over 4 years now. He is, hands down, one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Muay Thai coaches in PNW. With the rise of Thai boxing in the US, it is getting harder to find people who teach "the real thing" and don't just market themselves, selling cool shirts and making cool videos in IG. After doing just one session I knew right away that he knows what he's doing. Andy has experience as a fighter, a coach and a physical therapy specialist - I cannot think of a better combo for somebody who teaches Muay Thai. Muok Boxing is a place where one can easily train with competitive athletes, despite the previous experience or the lack of experience at all - great atmosphere, awesome team, safe and very welcoming environment. Coach Andy's been consistently helping and coaching fighters from other Muay Thai gyms in PNW, prepping them for tournaments, overseeing their training and recovery/rehabilitation regiments. If you are looking for a place where you could learn the real, authentic Muay Thai - Muok Boxing in Seattle is the one and only place.

Reasons not to join Muok:

- a “great workout”;
- because you’re bored with your routine; or
- it looks great on Instagram.

Reasons Muok may be right for you:

- a desire to train in a manner that grows the body and the mind;
- a willingness to join a community that values self-worth, integrity, and respect; and
- finding joy in being challenged physically, mentally, and emotionally.

I had the distinct privilege of receiving Muay Thai training from Andy. Due his generosity and mentorship, to this day, I carry knowledge and a set of skills that maintain my health in all aspects. I promise you - once you get past the initial pain and soreness and frustration, your only regret was having not tried it sooner.

Being trained by Andy is the best learning experience you can ask for. As an instructor, he is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, patient, creative and demonstrates things in great detail. He encourages you and allows you to grow as a student while still respecting you as an equal. Andy makes you feel like you can accomplish all your goals in learning Muay Thai. I joined Andy’s training during a difficult time in my life and, I can confidently say, it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. Learning from him helped me become more confident in self defense, it helped me grow mentally and emotionally, and it was always an amazing workout and a fun time! You will find Andy and the entire staff at Muok highly skilled and dedicated to their respective specialty. Andy’s ability to pair his extensive knowledge of Muay Thai and martial arts with his doctoral degree in physical therapy allows him to fully navigate someone through achieving their desired goals, while avoiding injury.

Erin’s passion for child development is unmatched and makes her the ideal teacher, mentor and coach for young children. She is able to connect with and reach children where they are, guiding them to develop a strong connection with physical movement, while building confidence and having fun. This gym has an excellent culture that supports inclusion and fun, all while challenging one another to meet and surpass their personal goals.
