The Tango Foundations class is amazing! The teacher is patient and clear in her communication. The class environment is super respectful and supportive. Even as someone with social anxiety, I really enjoy going to this class every week. Highly recommend 👍🏼

I've been a partner dancer for 5 years, and as a queer person, I dance both lead and follow. I have felt very discriminated against in this space, as well as physically unsafe. Especially femme presenting people would benefit from moving carefully in this space.

Update: I have no interest in speaking to the organizers of this dance because David, the organizer, physically harmed me while I was dancing with him.

I now have come to Oly Dance regularly for nearly 2 years. I had never danced before and was petrified but wanted to learn. Now, I participate in all Oly Dance events when I can. I have felt welcomed, accepted, included, valued, and safe.

I love that there are many dancers who switch roles between leading and following. It is encouraged. I revel in the fact that there are a mix of female presenting, male presenting, obviously non-binary gender, and not-so-obviously non-binary gender dancers. There are dancers with different abilities and levels, different colors and professional backgrounds, and from 18 to 80 something years old who come regularly.

Thank you, Oly Dance, for creating not just an inclusive, welcoming, non-judging, and safe environment for us to share our humanity through dance, but also a community that helps us spread joy and healing.

My husband and I recently took a beginner salsa class, and while we were the only beginners in the group, the class ended up feeling more like an intermediate level. It made it a bit challenging for us, as we struggled to keep up with the pace and complexity of the moves. However, the instructor was very friendly and did his best to accommodate us, offering helpful tips along the way. Overall, it was a good experience, but I would recommend checking the skill level of the class before signing up to make sure it’s the right fit for you.

Great class! We took the beginner salsa 4 week class and learned the basics and techniques. Super fun, a bit of a work out and a great price for what was taught. Loved the instructors, highly recommend!

My husband and I took beginning swing lessons and loved it. I liked how you rotate partners, as each person teaches you a little more. We had a lot of fun and got some exercise, too! The teachers are entertaining and patient. I'm looking forward to starting salsa classes soon.

An awesome group of people create these dance lessons and socials to be inclusive, fun and very well organized. It's a wonderful way to get exercise and enjoy meeting new people. Dancing the steps is in the lesson and it comes naturally. I can't say enough good things about OlyDance!

Rudy and crew are very helpful, patient, and make the best use of time for Salsa lessons on Fridays. Lessons are easy to understand, and you can immediately begin dancing with a partner to enforce the ideas. Already signed up for the next class, highly recommend. Low key and fun.

I live in Seattle and regularly drive down to Olympia for Oly Dance events. They are super inclusive and fun. The weekly dances are great and they put on an amazing bi-annual Summer and Winter Gathering dance weekend. All the organizers/instructors are genuinely nice and welcoming. If you are in town on a Tue(Swing) or Fri(Salsa) night I highly recommend checking them out.

The venues they host at are both awesome as well.

Just finished Bachata Basics and, to be completely vulnerable about it, this class basically unraveled my high school trauma around dancing specifically and self-esteem in general (I'm 38).

David is a great teacher, the environment is super welcoming, and the other people in the class were all delightfully kind and quirky and earnest.

I can't recommend the experience enough, especially if you are a person afraid to dance but desperate to do so. Be free 😁

The best place to have fun, learn swing dance, meet lovely teachers and friendly people. Love their series lesson every month from 6-7pm, I learn a lot and still learning through the lessons. The teachers (David and Madison) totally awesome, super patient and never stop sharing their knowledge and talent.
