The women's gym is actually pretty cool. It's in an auxiliary location and it's nice to have a weight lifting area that's free of big strong dudes. Call it insecurity but as a female using rather low weighted lifting equipment, it feels less intimidating.
The renovation (Aug -sept 2025) was not an improvement unfortunately. The renovation was for the locker room. It's meh. The fixtures are not as good and already getting loose. And the loss of the private in-locker-room hot tub is a real loss. But there's a whole section quartered off that used to be a little private gym. Maybe they'll turn it into a cryotherapy area? That would be cool and modern. Anyway. A suggestion. It's just as well if it's used for the cleaning staff to have more space. Storage and cleaning staff often get cramped into small spaces so hopefully they've been able to get more room with the renovation.

Lots to do here. Classes of all sorts, 2 swimming pools, sauna, steam rooms, personal training, circuit training, weight room and lots more! They have child care too

The new addition opened up and is a nice space to do a variety of exercises.

New classroom for exercise added bringing the total to three, plus classes also in the basketball court room, and a ton of new classes!

Also added a day spa but haven't tried that out.

The administration is a nightmare and they could care less about their members. Non stop drama with the administration. Training between employees and stuff is inconsistent. I’m pulling my family and friends out of this place. Lots of promises made but not followed through with.

I will miss the facilities but the drama isn’t worth it.

Just tried out the Olympic athletic club pool hot tub and dry sauna was really comfortable and nice and kept well. Was here a year ago just about a year ago. I like the new updates.

The gym itself is fine but they run their Sauna really cold. I would recommend pro club if you want a gym with a proper sauna experience. Wish I hadn’t switched.

Edit: took a few months but the sauna is now properly hot

Updated 2025: They have raised prices 38% and the gym is way overpacked. I don't they are limiting how many members come while jacking up prices.

agree with other reviewers this is is a step above LA fitness but what LA fitness has is air conditioning.

During my workout today I nearly suffered heat stroke trying to workout in one of the I went home and crashed for hours from some weird exhaustion aka heat stroke.

1) You cannot feasibly do cardio because these rooms are not air conditioned. Not even the spin room is. The basketball court is which holds classes and I think the first floor gym because the front desk is there.

2) There are no water dispensers with cold water. There is only one with cold water outside the basketball court and it is a drinking fountain. Seriously?! There should be cold

3) The locker rooms are dated but clean. I cannot vouch for the ladies showers bc I try not to shower at the gym. It's pretty small so not sure you would hang out here.

4) Lots of space and areas to workout but the top floor and mid level floor cardio's rooms can get packed.

Overall the value for the prove is not there. I have brought these issues up repeatedly and no change has been made.

Wonderful facility, but gamey cancellation policies. Overcharged us by two months after we called to cancel and were told everything was taken care of. Pool scheduling policies are frustrating.

Visitors from out of town wanting gym access for a week for two of us. Rang in the morning to be told that nobody could give us any information on pricing until 9 am. Then went in to the place. Young woman on the desk told us she was new and didn’t know about what options that they had but would ask. But, even when she did, the more experienced staff member in the desk couldn’t provide us with a price and showed no interest in doing anything about it. Never come across a place which was so unwilling to help, at all! Such a shame, as it is a stunning looking gym.

Leaving another review because they took months to renovate what they said would be an improvement. And then took way longer than they said they would. AND THEN they take away the women’s jacuzzi which was helpful for women who don’t want to be half naked in front of men, but they also took the women’s fitness areas out of the locker room. They didn’t mention any of this in the renovation plan announcements. Oh and we still pay the same amount for less amenities.

Been a member for almost 4 years. It’s really transformed but the increase in annual membership fees also show it. Overall I think the changes are pretty good for the cost as it spreads the members across more rooms so it never feels crowded.

Pros: front desk is always nice, organized social events to meet other members, so many classes via their own app where you can easily schedule or cancel, multiple workout studios, a nice pool, diversity in class instructors.

The cons: scheduling private lane in the pool continues to be a nightmare. I’m assuming it’s because regulars have gamed the system on Monday mornings, and manage to book all the same slots each day of the week. They also recently got rid of the women’s hot tub. The soaps, shampoos, conditioners and hair dryers are of low quality. Often times, some areas have too many dust bunnies which really flares up my allergies. I also don’t really understand dedicating an entire building to a women’s gym. If they decided to do women’s classes/events in there, that would be appreciated.

Came here today on a guest pass. I was planning on signing up for a membership after today’s visit. Unfortunately, there are quite a few aspects that need improving before I’d do so.

Positives:
-The two staff members working at reception were very friendly and helpful.
-I loved the layout of the weights areas with semi-private “alcoves” to work out in.
-The old school, industrial architecture and exposed brick is very cool.
-The whole facility is very spacious and didn’t feel crowded at all despite quite a few people being there.

Areas for improvement:
-The men’s sauna (one of the main reasons I’d want to join) was barely warm due to the poorly installed glass door that has a large gap. A few members in there said they had complained about it, but it still hadn’t been fixed.
-The sauna had a clump of disgusting hair on the floor; a member mentioned it had been there for multiple days.
-The steam room was out of service. Talking to members, apparently it’s been like this for over a month due to a malfunctioning component.
-The general cleanliness of the main men’s locker room wasn’t great. Dirty floor, showers, etc.

If management addresses these issues, I would love to become a member and update this to a more positive review.

Went for a tour today and the membership girl who gave me a tour made me feel unwelcomed. Maybe I didn’t look fancy enough to potentially join the gym. Our conversation ended with me saying thank you and her saying you are welcome(while staring at her computer not even looking at me). And then she just waited for me to leave her office. Not even a “bye”.
I walked out of the gym with this unwelcomed and uncomfortable feeling. Will never try to step into there again.

I joined OAC a few months ago and I have had nothing but positive experiences! From the friendly and helpful trainers to the quality equipment and so many rooms and amenities (and private spaces when you need a good stretch!)

I really feel at home here. I’ve made friends and had a few sessions with Megan who has really helped me with moves to support my injuries. This community has really changed my day to day experience in Ballard. Highly recommend!

Also love the age demographic range here- feels like a community, especially in the classes!

I enjoyed coming here for three years until I had surgery and they became difficult to rejoin. If you value repeat members be more flexible after they have a major surgery and are willing to pay. For the price they are asking for I’d say equinox or pro club is a better option. I am Choosing to go elsewhere due to the lack of empathy and help post surgery, being a three year member I thought I would have been treated a bit better and had easier help getting back to my routine from surgery. Offered a medical letter, sent many emails and showed I’m a civil emergency responder but I have yet to hear anything back so at best I’m giving a three star just because the equipment.

Horrible customer service, no security, no safety. I was doing reps and a dude came to ask me for the machine just “because”. I was not helped by staff. I did not felt safe in this gym and I terminated my membership the same day, the lady(sadly a woman) didn’t care about my concerns for safety at all dismissed my concerns and just reminded me that the contract cannot be reinstated. I am glad to say I told her that would not be a problem at all as I plan not to return. An entitled women in the sauna later; why people are so rude and invasive of your space and personal time (when you are mostly naked)???if I could give it minus 10 starts I would. Never looked back.
Overpriced for the services they provide and not worth it, if safety is not a priority. I would not recommend this place at all.

OAC made efforts to make it right and my son had a few great lessons with Milo! 5 stars for the time with Milo and Valerie, one star off based on the initial experience.

I booked and paid for a swim lesson for my two-year old and the instructor didn't show. My toddler was so excited to go in the pool, and was ultimately in tears because we had to leave.

Beautiful gym with excellent facilities! Even in the middle of redoing their locker rooms, nothing seemed inconvenient or out of place. Very different club than anything you'd get on a national or chain level-- and that's awesome. I loved the little semi private workout spaces on the first floor-- there's like 4 or 5 of them and they have like a mat, a mirror, and shared access with the cubby next to you to a set of dumbbells, kettlebells, foam rollers, exercise balls. It was perfect to complete the workout I had from my trainer at home with my own stretchy bands I brought with me.

1. Olympic thinks women are superior and have a women’s only building with equipment that is exclusive to it. Banning men from pieces of gym equipment is oppressive.

2. Olympic buys the absolute cheapest products for the bathroom that exist on the market. It is the most Seattle thing ever. Invest the 77 dollars a month it would cost to upgrade soaps and lotions so it isn’t industrial chemicals.

I like Olympic.

gym is pretty but customer service is not worth the prices. I went in for a trial day and the front lady seemed whatever and then they had me wait in lobby for a girl behind her in an office (which i saw her whisper to btw)... then it was just telling me the costs and to go look at the gym myself. no tour, just me trying to remember where everything was and it was three floors. i dont even know where the bathroom was when i was mid work out and was lost. Not a good first day experience and just fakeness or passive aggressiveness. whatever it is, management should do better. i will definitely not join them.

Beautiful gym, tons of equipment and amenities. However, I am not able to leave 5 stars due to the customer service. The place is run by teenagers who never say hello to you as you come in and they never know about the promotions that are going on which makes it so that i have to chase down management, who by the way, also does not respond to messages or emails. I have left my name and number with the front desk staff on multiple occasions after they promised a call back from a manager with absolutely no call back. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have good customer service and organization. especially at a gym where we pay hundreds of dollars to be there. Its just not a good look. This is my last ditch effort to get someone to contact me. Its been more than a week of chasing you all down and frankly, I'm over it.

This review is for personal training with Kai.

I’ve been working with Kai for eight months, focused on building strength and getting in shape for surfing. I thought I’d do a few weeks and then go solo, but I’ve stuck with it.

It costs more to hire a trainer, but for me, it’s worth it. Kai keeps me accountable, pushes me harder than I’d push myself, and does it in a supportive way.

I turned 50 recently and hit personal bests in both bench and squat—and I’m still improving.

I joined this gym a couple of months ago after I moved from Bellevue. I used to go to Lifetime Gym and Tru Fusion Bellevue before this place.
I like this gym the most than Lifetime Bellevue or Tru Fusion. The atmosphere and interior are better than others, also the monthly fee is much more affordable, but the quality of group exercise and facility are very comparable.
The only suggestion is to please arrange to clean the yoga room between the group exercise sessions. It will make a much more pleasant group experience experience while people are sitting on their mats.

This is hands down the best gym in the city of Seattle. I have been to almost all of them and none are as nice as this one…with the exception of my having someone snap at me for talking a call from my workout partner letting me know they were running late while on the cardio machines. I asked them what the difference was between my talking the call and talking to someone I was working out with, and they said it was against policies and I would be asked to leave if I continued, so I hung up the phone and started having a conversation outloud with myself instead. Bullshit authoritarians don’t deserve good reveries

Update as of 4/15:
There a few more observations now that I’ve been a member for a while:
- Parking is a nightmare. I mostly don’t deal with this as I take the bus to the gym, but if you do it will be an issue. It can take 10-20m to get a spot mid-day on a weekday.
- Swim lessons for kids are awesome, especially if you share a lesson with another member. Highly recommend Teacher Lyubo especially.
- If you use the family pool with kids, there’s no kid friendly platform except for the lane with the stairs. Would be great if they had some swim platforms to use!
- Towels are terrible, but appreciate towel service actually exists.
- Spa in the women’s locker room is amazing.

Original review:
Relatively pricey membership, but, IMO, you do get a lot for the price. If you have kids and are trying to get regular workouts in, this membership is definitely worth it.

The gym is much larger than it appears from the outside and even during peak hours, there are almost always racks and areas available. There’s a new area with private, curtained workout areas if you don’t want to be on display while you exercise. The class schedule is full and varied — other gyms I’ve tried don’t have a lot of mid-day weekday classes (which is when I go, as I’m on maternity leave). The family pool, lap pool, and hot tubs/saunas are all kept in good condition.

The childcare is great for an 1-2 hours and is critical for me (as a busy parent) to actually be able to get a workout in. I’ve found the women who work there to be attentive to the kids and good at handling both babies and toddlers. The Kids
Korner has a crib and changing table for babies, lots of toys and activities for toddlers, and video games and TV for older kids. Not many gyms offer this level of childcare. Childcare is $9/hr per child for members.

Docking one star for the non-transparent pricing strategy. We’ve done two tours because they won’t tell you pricing until you tour. The deal for a single person 12-month commitment was $105/m and a $110 initiation fee. We joined in August, which is a “free” month, so we only paid the initiation fee initially. I believe the month-to-month as $110/month. This is before taxes.

The alternatives I was considering were Ballard Health Club and OrangeTheory, but neither offered childcare, so trying to align my schedule with working out was much more difficult. The membership price was worth it for me compared to other gyms in the area that do not offer childcare.

I think is a beautiful gym. I like the space and the facilities! Taylor at the front desk is exceptional at her job she is totally personable and funny and it’s always fun when I see her!! Two beefs I have it needs to be cleaned way better the amount you charge I shouldn’t see dust on literally every rafter and everything in the facility!!! The hairballs are rampant in the showers and a better job needs to be done! I’m a big lady and the towels are a freaking joke even my gym buddy who is petite can hardly get one around her. Come on it’s such an incredibly cheap move to not provide nice towels that fit everybody it seems kind of lame!!! I joined for the month I was visiting Seattle and loved this gym. It’s huge with lots of different, beautiful spaces to work out, every kind of equipment you can imagine, all in excellent condition and it’s all kept immaculately clean. I didn’t take any classes but they offer tons of them, and have lots of different spaces to hold the classes. Super nice people work there and a low key atmosphere among clients doing their thing. I did personal training (Allen) and that was a very good experience also; he was great at cuing better form on exercises. I’ve been in dozens of gyms around the world, and this is the best I’ve seen.

Lipstick on a pig

Edit: removing one more star because they just announced another rate increase. Happy new year!

Overall, the gym will impress when you first get there. Nice wood floors, new (ish) equipment, pools/hot tubs, etc. but when you actually spend time there (I’ve been a member for 6 years), you will notice it is a very mediocre gym.

First, parking is a mess - there isn’t a time you won’t have a line of cars for the parking lot. Don’t listen to them when they blame construction, it’s been like that forever. If you can’t walk to the gym, build in 15-20 at least for you parking wait.

Second, their gym is a lowkey mess once you actually look around. Weights all over the place, equipment in the wrong place or just completely missing. Looking for a d handle or a carabiner? Enjoy a 10 min scavenger hunt across the gym.

Third, the gym layout is a disaster. They had a whole big remodel a year or so ago and, while mildly better, some of the choices are baffling. The second floor dumbbell set up is basically a hallway where there isn’t even enough space to workout safely, the 2nd floor benches (specifically incline but also flat) are too close to the wall to get a spotter or even place the 45lbs weights on their correct spot. That doesn’t even take into account the lack of multiple lat pull downs on each floor or cable row set ups. Even PF can figure out to have enough cable set ups.

Finally, the gym is way over crowded. I’m sure they had to finance a fair amount of their renovation and need to sell more memberships but that seems to be their only focus. The gym itself could definitely use some TLC (going around and reracking and replacing equipment at night??) but they don’t seem to have an interest. Crowding is normal, but a complete lack of emphasis on consistently providing existing customers a great experience is not normal.

This place is fine but it is a mid gym cosplaying as a high end gym. Have been to many nice gyms in NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, etc. this place wouldn’t stand a chance in any of those cities. Hopefully when the equinox opens up in 2025 they will finally have some boutique gym competition but until then I don’t see much change coming to OAC.

If you are looking for a new gym in 2025 in Ballard area just go to the new PF, LA fitness, or any of the other cheaper gyms. You are going to deal with the crowding and typical gym issues but at least won’t be paying a premium for it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Although it's a good well-equipped gym, it's almost impossible to workout here. Every second I hear someone dropping their weights loudly, no one reracks their wesights, and no one cleans after themself. It's like this gym exclusively attracts worst behaved gymgoers. And during rush hours it's impossible to get a squat rack. They should start enforcing some basic rules or at least give basic gym etiquette talk when they give tours to people joinig this gym. I'm canceling my membership and getting away from this gym as I cannot bear this constant improper behavior.

Very unhappy with the January 2025 dues increase. Membership is now 120 a month!!!! There was ANOTHER dues increase a year ago. Inexcusable to treat long term members like this. I don't care if they have added to the gym. Not my responsibility to pay more. Seems like greed.

Really getting tired of the rate increases, it has basically doubled in the past 2.5 years. That's insane. In 2022 I paid roughly $63 a month, with tax, for the couples yearly prepaid membership. In 2023 that same membership was $80 with tax. September 2024, no longer prepaid, then cost $88 with tax for individual. November 2024 jumped to $110 with tax even when I was explicitly told it wouldn't increase. Now, January the cost just increased another $10. That's 2 rate increases in 5 months. What gives??

Most of the emphasis has been placed on appearance rather than function. It's a charming labyrinthine space where you'll get plenty of stair climbing before you even reach the cardio room. I have fond memories of my child splashing around in the family pool back before the huge renovation around 2013 that sparked outrage among those who had paid for lifetime memberships (and funded the beginning of the OAC) and whose memberships ended or substantially changed due to a Texas Two-Step type gambit on the part of OAC's owners. Look it up. It was a thing.

This could be a very good club except for its management. They've swapped out multiple people at the top, but nothing ever changes. Example: the pools are too cold. Ask about it, and you'll get nothing but double-speak, empty promises, and no action. The scheduling system is inept, but they kick off a new system only to abandon it a few weeks later and return to the old one with no explanation. When facilities are closed there are no online notices. And just try to use their online contact form! It fails every time with the "try again later" message. The facilities are fair, the staff is pretty good, but the management is awful.

This gym is my home away from home! They have amazing childcare which is a huge help being a new mom, and I love swimming laps and relaxing in the women’s locker room hot tub after! All around wonderful gym! And the recent renovations are fabulous!

Love this gym. Highly recommend.

+ pool
+ sauna/steam
+ good hours
+ abundance of equipment
+ great work out stations
+ love the staff!!!

- toxic level of essential oils in the steam room makes me SICK. Don’t need any of the essential oils in there.
- dry sauna smells bad sometimes.
- no drinking water in the locker rooms.
- hard to get swimming reservation and people will steal your spot.
- weekends close at 9pm.
- members don’t appreciate how hard the staff works to clean and leaves wet towels everywhere (gross).

I love this gym! It is an experience! My only wish is that the temps in the hot tubs should be hotter. They are like warm tubs. Other than that, this place is beautiful, clean and beautifully lit. The locker rooms feel plush and offer lotion, shampoo and conditioner and body wash. There are so many rooms with equipment and free weights, you never have to wait for anything. I have a membership to LA Fitness but I prefer this club. It’s worth the extra spend. I also like that there are a lot of parking of parking options. They don’t play loud music so it is a peaceful experience. All of the employees are friendly as well. They have a full service spa for massages, facials and mani pedis and 2 pools. A 5 star experience for sure!

This is a harsh review and for only one reason - parking. I spend more time looking for parking than I do actually working out inside (a little dramatic yes, but you get the point). The gym itself is fantastic. Clean, good amenities, lots of machine options. But be prepared to be constantly frustrated with their parking situation. You’d think for how much you pay, they’d have some better options.

I love this gym; it's very clean, has a lot of equipment, offers classes, has a pool, and has online bookings. I also love their sauna and steam room with plenty of showers. I think it's a great gym overall. The parking situation could be better but I think it's just a very tricky location to have ample parking. I actually wish that they had tiered membership for members that need parking vs members who don't need parking.

I think the gym is pretty nice. Good equipment, pretty clean, it's expanding. The sauna and steam rooms are a plus as well. However, at a reasonable hour, it's crowded, hard to find parking, and near impossible to secure swimming spot. It's also very disappointing to hear that there's a hot tub in the women's locker room, but none in the men's side. As a result, I'm exploring other gyms and considering ending my membership.

Overall for the price you pay, it's hard to justify giving more than three stars.

While the overall gym is clean and the equipment is comprehensive, the pools were both pretty shallow, not good for aqua jogging, and they were cold, especially for indoor pools. It’s also difficult to book time in the pool, you can’t just drop in when you have time, it has to be prescheduled and it’s pretty booked up for most of the week unless you want to go at 10 pm. People have the Seattle freeze pretty bad, it’s not okay to ask for directions, like where do I put my towel or where can I find the cleaner, definitely a don’t talk to me vibe from nearly everyone. One guy was incredibly impatient while I finished up my sets on a machine; there are 3 other machines that do the exact same thing… I really wanted to use this gym but I just feel like I really don’t belong. I also felt like I knew more than the personal trainer…

I've been in great gyms such as ones in Berlin, Vienna London and New York. This is one of my absolute favorites because ....staff is nice, everything is clean and the diversity of people who go there mix the just right amount of being social with leaving you alone. I've been a member for a little more than 3 years, and I can't believe I've never written a review!

The gym overall environment it is what motivates me to go there daily. Early mornings and late nights are pretty quiet, and it's so relaxing! The building and decor are stunning, and I'm excited to try the new women's only space.

The locker room is amazing, and I treat it as a reward after working out. The jacuzzi and saunas are so great for recovery and relaxation. I've seen people cleaning the showers and surfaces throughout the day, and I honestly have never found anything dirty.

Another highlight is the variety of classes. Most instructors are very welcome to the newbies, and you can try it all regardless of your fitness level. I love that there are Pelotons, too! I recommend it and love it!

I've been a member for a few years and overall I love the gym and am appreciative of the amenities. I've also been training with Matt Massot and he's excellent, willing to adapt training to an injury, keeps my work outs interesting and a good eye for correcting my form. We've been working together for over two years! It would be nice to have heavier kettlebells as the heaviest in the gym is 54lbs and there's only four of them which I've currently maxed out for farmers carry and gorilla rows. All in all a wonderful space and great experience.

Been a member for a month now. TLDR; It’s a great gym, but not worth the price.

Edit. Updating to 4 bc those private workout booths are clutch and I don’t think I’ve seen them at another gym before. Still on the fence if it’s worth the premium.

The longer version:

- classes so far have been great. The good ones fill up by I go to early morning yoga classes which seem like they’ve got enough space

- gym is also fairly empty when I go (6AM) but I can see it getting slammed at peak hours

- the place is kept clean and I enjoy the access to a sauna and steam room

- swim lessons and group classes use two different apps? Weird.

- had a friend sign up for a $65/person membership but was told by sales that it hadn’t existed for the past 2 years since she worked there; based on reviews below that’s probably a lie and something recently changed with new management.

- I have had premium gym memberships in many different cities (Toronto, London, New York). In keeping with classic Seattle PVQ, you get very little for what you pay. It’s just a prettier version of a 24h or LA fitness. Don’t expect premium things like disposable razors, shaving cream, face lotion, more than one blow dryer, etc. in the change rooms. I’ve seen AirBnBs that are better stocked.

I’ll probably stay with them and keep paying the “Seattle tax” thanks to all the tech bros (and sisters) and entrepreneurs with low standards and high paycheques that keep this overpriced city afloat but probably wouldn’t be loyal to the gym beyond a 15 minute drive unless the experience goes up over time. Hopefully the new management is using the increased membership dues to improve the experience and not just making it prettier (it’s already very pretty). I’ll update my review if it changes significantly.

Been a member here for over 7 years, recently cancelled due to elimination of yearly memberships (had been roughly $65/mo) to a monthly $95/mo (ends up being $110 after all is said and done). After I asked the reasoning for this, was given a "we need to cover costs of remodel" response.

Still liked going here but with the loss of all my favorite trainers (Kyle was the best) and the news the Mark will no longer be GM, I'm concerned with the direction this is going and didn't feel the cost justified the product.

Also cancelled with the appropriate range but was told because I "signed up for a 12 month contracted monthly plan" I owed a difference of $16.44. Whatever, keep your money I suppose, but know you're losing alot of business with these changes.

Spa masseuse Lynn was fantastic. I would gladly revisit her for a massage.

However only a one star review for the spa and management team itself. My husband bought myself and my mother Signature Massage vouchers for Mother’s Day ($119 each). When we booked the appointments the following week we informed them of our vouchers. But on the day, after our massages, they asked me for more money as prices had “increased”. The voucher was for a treatment and not a dollar value. Get yourselves straight and stop being greedy!

Very long time member of OAC. The 'value' of OAC is declining over the past several years: 1) parking is getting harder and harder. I don't even bother going Monday afternoons through evening; 2) price going WAAAAY up. Was paying $65 a month, and new 'special' pricing for long-term members is up to $95; 3) new equipment is unsafe: most equipment in the largest rooms aren't bolted to floor and 'walk' over time. I've also found bolts and mission-critical joint pins completely missing or loose, and I've reported them several times but they don't get fixed after months. Most of the squat racks in the narrow (and dark) upstairs room are bowed out b/c they are designed to be bolted to the ground and aren't. Someone is going to get hurt--who is in charge of maintenance?!?!; 4) consumable equipment (cable machine handles, ropes) are falling apart and don't get replaced fast enough given the high use; 5) it's incredibly dark, especially when it's cloudy outside, but the light switches (which members can't change) are set to 70-80% of the dimmer; and 6) only weight belts and straps are those that members have brought in and left.

Honestly, it feels like the new owners plunked a bunch of money into adding onto the space, but no one who actually works out considered what is safe and makes the most sense. Like a gym run by people who don't go to the gym. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to make this a much better experience commanding the high monthly rates, but the new owners don't seem to be attuned to the actual experience vs. marketing and branding.

TLDR:
Beautiful gym, lots of equipment, reasonable amenities. Staff is nice. Premium price pays for the aesthetic and not necessarily the experience.

Full review:
I am someone who uses this gym primarily for weight lifting and I avoid super-peak hours. I cannot speak to swimming, classes, or training. All the below to say I am still a member, and probably will continue to be. I want this place to improve as I really like going here.

Operationally, this gym is... fine. Volume (as in members) seems to be their 1st priority. Following that is how picture worthy the gym is, which isn't necessarily bad. This has the benefit of having a clean, presentable space.

Everything else I would consider to be below average for the price paid. I would have a hard time justifying being a member here if I weren't able to get my dues re-imbursed by my employer. Dues were increased substantially over 2023. Pay-in-full discount was removed citing "cash flow stability" which is the strangest business decision I have seen from a gym.

They occasionally remind people of the rules in the footer of random marketing e-mails, but in my time frequenting this gym, I have not seen a single rule get actively enforced.

I mostly use the weight rooms upstairs, which are spacious and filled with equipment. I appreciate how many racks they installed.

People don't re-rack weights. Often, any re-racked weights are totally out of order and end up scattered around the gym. Quite frequently, weights end up in inappropriate places. (Metal plates on racks that shouldn't have metal plates, and I'm not talking about the 2.5/5lb plates that end up buried under larger weights)

People often just leave equipment loaded and walk away without wiping anything down.

Lots of mismatched plates. This sounds like a nitpick, but there are plenty of videos showing that different makes of plates can have notable deviations in actual weight. When there's 3 different makes of 45lb plates stacked onto the same rack, this can be very frustrating when trying to get consistency. I wouldn't expect this out of a gym at this price point. It's doubly strange when you see how much focus they put on making sure the aesthetic is cohesive; so it's obviously a prioritization issue and not a cost issue.

People on their phones constantly in the men's locker room (pre-empting another marketing email urging people to stop using their phones in the locker room) Maybe they speak to people in private, but I have only seen the issue worsen as time goes on (Ignoring the brief, but minor improvement following a reminder email.)

I'm happy they provide parking, I think that's a rare amenity. That being said, I have seen a lot of people park and then just walk off somewhere else. Not even sure what can be done about this, but it's worth pointing out.

The staff is very nice and I would not immediately say that the issues above are their fault, at all. The gym normally seems to be staffed with the blinding priority of membership acquisition. I understand this is a business, but I would expect a gym that postures itself in this "caliber" would invest a little bit more into distinguishing themselves operationally instead of just in presentation.

This gym has an opportunity to foster a culture of etiquette. I hope to see them improve post-renovations.

I will update this review if anything changes.

I’ve been yearning to find a group exercise class where I can be comfortable and also get a great/functional workout. As easy as someone would think finding this in Seattle would be, it has been very different; at least for me. I recently visited Olympic Athletic Club and attended TRX, which I have never used before, but wanted to get out of my comfort zone. The instructor, Alix, instantly made me feel welcome, effectively taught me the TRX movements, and made me feel comfortable and confident in myself. I would not normally budget as much in a gym membership, but if Alix’s class represents OAC group exercise programs, I’m all in!

Given a recent interaction canceling my membership, I’m pretty mad at them and have deleted my previous review..

In summary, there’s a fine-print gotcha in the membership agreement. Even if you know you’re moving a few months out, pay month to month without negotiating price ($371+$121/mo), leave a nice review etc, there’s a surprise waiting for you. They didn’t accept my call nor did they call me back during regular business hours, and I don’t have time for playing games right now. After almost 4 years of not going to the gym, 5 months ago I took the leap and I started training with Pete Peterson, first the stats. I weighed 270 lbs at the start I am know 260.lbs. My Muscle Mass was 110 it is now 118.8 ( that's .2 from 9 lbs of new muscle). My Body Fat was 29.8 it is now 22.6. Every month I have exceeded my expectations and if you have a trainer that is what you should demand of your trainer, RESULTS! Beating Expectations and Overall improved body muscle and health, CHECK!. I also am now a 36 waist when I started I was 40. That felt awesome to share!

My review. I read Petes bio and I felt he was the best match for me. Picking a trainer for someone who has trained for over 30 years (I'm 52) is not easy, because I need someone that will push me, explain to me why I am doing this when I ask intelligently and knows his SH$T because you can't fake it with someone who lived to train since his teens and there is nothing worse than a fake poser trainer! but with the pandemic, herniating my lower disks (L4/L5) and owning my own company which means I work sometimes 24-7, and with travel every month I got severely out of shape, packed on 35+ lbs, dropped in muscle mass, waist size expanding from a 34 to a 40 and I just became a couch potato with damage self esteem.

But 5 months ago and with some heavy pushing from my husband of 10 years I did it and it was the best thing I have done for myself in the last 4 years. Pete is not just an awesome person, he is super knowledgable about training, the body, fitness, and lots of other super fun stuff that can keep you engaged and motivated as your training. He took into consideration my injuries and my messy back which meant the first month/6 weeks was really getting my body realigned, getting it back into the rhythm of working out, and burning off the fat. It also meant getting my confidence back to be in the gym. The last 5 months I have maintained a 3 day a week schedule with Pete, packed with muscle building, fat burning routines that have transformed my body faster than I ever thought possible! I posted my 5 months results as proof of how good Pete is, it amazing how a person can motivate you and keep you motivated plus talk to you clearly about why you are doing this, why you are doing that, here is the path and what the goal. I am person that needs to know the person I am training with know his SH$T and I need to see results or you're not my trainer, period.

Now my husband trains with, Pete a buddy of ours just started training with Pete and a few more friends are thinking of switching their trainers for Pete based on the results I have had, at 52! so I no spring chicken! You want to get back to you fighting weight, to wear clothes you feel good in, to look in the mirror and whistle at yourself because your so HOT, to bring your sexy back in your relationship big time! Pete is your man.

Thanks Pete, you're a game changer buddy!

I have been working out here for almost a year now. The facility is gorgeous. Easily the most beautiful gym I've ever been to. I adore that it has a sauna in the locker room both steam and hot. There's a hot tub in the womans locker room, and a private gym for woman also attached to the womans locker room. However after the remodel I have felt a shift. It feels like their goal is to pack as many people in as possible with no thought to the experience of the people here anymore. At peak times Monday specifically there is a wait time for the showers. Good luck using a machine you like. Other things that have been frustrating is theres been in an influx of teenagers working out together. I've witnessed them sitting on machines watching tiktok and not even working out. Or grouped up in the locker room not allowing people to get to their locker or making fun of them for politely asking to use their own locker. Many people are on their phones in the locker room even though it's supposed to be a safe space. Because it's so busy there's often a lack of towels. Sometimes I have to go to other areas of the gym to find towels to stock the shelves myself. The steam room often isnt working or isnt very strong which is half the reason I force myself to workout sometimes. I've seen gym tours where they're rushing through it to pack more tours in, they've even said, sorry we dont have a lot of time to give this tour. Furthermore the front desk staff seems more concerned with their own conversations than saying goodbye to people. They've said goodnight maybe 5 times to me the entire time I've been working out here and when I sit and wait for my partner the conversations I hear are interesting to say the least. I'm not saying they should have to work in silence but I do believe they should be greeting all guests and their conversations should be second to that. All in all it's a good gym. I'm just scared the quality is starting to suffer.

GOOD TIP: Start legal using camera in a gym without recording and they will offer you full refund)

They do not have a membership policy in a public access.

I went to this club 2 weeks and was wrongly blamed 2 time by managenents.
1) 06.09.2023 at 9:35 the first time old lady made an intervention into my superset execise for legs, she broken the possibility to do my second execise iimediately after the first execise. I did allowed she to join me as a 2nd person two times because she was to old and weak for looking for the same equipment on 3d floor. Two time she refused to return an equipment into previous state. She said I should do that. I did not let she to join 3d time because 2 prevous violations and I need 5 seconds between my 2 execises in superset(she mades me to spend 1 minute to fix equipment). She complained. Manager came and explained me club rules in abusive tome of voice, he did not try to figure out what happened. I asked more questions and he also explained that the 2nd person MUST return equipment into configuration previously used by 1st person. He ignored my explaination and he did not make any notice to that 2nd person after. He also ignored the fact 2nd person could use the same exuipment on another floor.
I did evericing right and I was blamed that I did somethig wrong. He could review CCTV recording before, try to take my point of view, but he only trusted 2st person and did not trust me.
Also, that manager came to me and started talking immediately, did not let me to finish my execise with big weight.
2) 13.09.2023 a sales person told me that someone complained I am doing video recording during my execise. I explaination there is no recording on, I am not talking just listening via airbuds and looking into screen, camera pointed on me and one more time NO recording. He chanded blame to "using camera", I explained it's not prohibited with "no recording". He failed to give a reference to violated club rule. Then he changed blame to using "cell phone" in general, he completly forgot that previous day she told it's ok to use "online trainer" installed on mobile phone.
Then general manager came and told I did not make something wrong but another clients complains, I cant continue using club because another clients complained and offered me a refund.
One more time I did evericing right and I had bad feeling that I did somethig wrong.
I did discuss using online trainer just before signing a membership and it was okey.
I belive they should work with another clients and explain them there is no recornding and no club rules violated.
I do understand people around are woring about video recording in public space (and about 100s of things), but that is not my business.
I refused 100% refurn (220 usd for 1 month) and have taken only 100 usd because I alredy visited club 2 weeks.
They select to force me out, because they respect money from unhappy clients but not my rights as a member. They respect fake complains and sales ignored my request to give reference to membership policy. They stopped my training process and I need to pay enrollment fee in another club.

I had a massage with Lynn in the spa and was blown away. She's one of the best I've seen, and I have a lot to compare it to. I was in a lot of pain when I made the appointment. She understood the root of my pain, and worked to release /remedy it. My massage made a huge difference in my ability to recover and get back to normal. She's a body mechanic genius!

They don't list their prices on their website. This is a pretty major red flag for predatory business practices.

Excellent gym at a great price! I pay in full and it’s about $85/mo or so. This includes lots of perks and unlimited classes. There is plenty of free parking and never hard to get on a machine besides right after work. I hope they bring back 24/7 hours in the future!

MINORITIES BEWARE: This is not the place where you’ll feel safe enough to use their facilities. This shady business only wants your money and will take it in whatever way they can. The products in the spa are marked up 100% from warehouse price so already expensive products burn your wallet up in an instant. The only lovely thing about this place is this lovely guy at the front desk of the spa, I don’t remember his name but he was very helpful and courteous. Honestly, he sticks out like a sore thumb in a good way! Otherwise, this corporation is just as evil as the rest. Don’t waste your breathe.

Great club! I love the ambiance here, which may not be the main reason some choose a gym, but I need all the help I can get ;). Warm towels, exposed brick & beams, hardwood floors, and the sauna/steamroom/jacuzzi options keep me coming back as much as the great classes and equipment.

Signed up in 2015 for the 24h gym and pool. Coming out of Covid years, the gym is no longer 24h, and charges $10 more a month at $99/month for one person. One of the main reasons for joining was the pool, but can rarely get a reservation on the mindbody app without trying daily to snipe a spot since all the reservations all always taken whenever availability is released. Usually end up with odd hour slots like 9pm+. Charges $10 if you have to cancel within 4h as well (eg last min work emergency and need to cancel)

$10 here and $10 there …too many paper cuts

A beautiful gym. It is super spacious and it has many levels, rooms, a lot of equipment. It has a wet and also a dry sauna. There is a swimming pool and hot tub. They have several parking lots. Normally not an issue for me because I go late. They offer towels. Several showers. I see that they are expanding. So it maybe even bigger.

I’ve been coming here for a couple months now and I enjoy it. It’s never a packed zoo like at some other gyms. Lots of different equipment. Staff are friendly too.

Entitled people. My (brown) mom went here and said all the white girls were mugging and stuck up looking at her and her friends like they don’t belong there. And the sales lady also treated her like she couldn’t afford to be there. If you’re BIPOC maybe choose another gym.

Really huge fan having joined a few months ago with my wife. Incredible value in my opinion for what you're paying for, which feels more like an athletic club than a gym (hence the name). Have been doing personal training with Axa who is fantastic. Can't recommend enough.

The gym is quiet deceptive with their hidden fees, and is only interested in taking your money. I attempted to cancel my account, but they instead gave me a form to put my account on hold. They filled out the form, and said I only needed to sign it. They didn’t mention the monthly hold fee. When I noticed it on my CC, I called and they basically said oh that’s unfortunate, but they wouldn’t refund me the money. I am not sure why they are deceptive like many big box gyms, but even a fancy location can’t hide their true nature.

Incredible place for self care! A friend recommended this place and so I decided to join to use some of my work wellness benefits. I really enjoy the swimming pools (though wish lanes were more open as some people don't show for their reservations), the multiple hot tubs, sauna and steam rooms. It feels like a treat everytime I go here
