As a long time OTF member, I have ALWAYS loved being in the studio. I love the workouts and the challenges. I really enjoy being able to see and track my progress. Much of my physical and mental growth has come within the four walls of an OTF studio. If you are looking for a routine that helps keep you motivated, OTF is the one you want.

Some where along the way at OTF Northside, I started hearing directly from the staff that I was "not liked". I was told this numerous times during my year with this studio. Which seemed so weird to me because I was never told that I had behaved in a way that the studio staff would take issue with me. In fact, I shared my gratitude and appreciation with the staff often. I always signed up (and paid extra) for challenges that they needed people to sign up for. I signed up for classes with low attendance after being asked to. I always held the brag board when asked and allowed photos to be taken, even though they would rarely share them, if at all. It seemed that after I downgraded my membership in October, this feeling of not being liked really started to show and it was clear that the studio wanted me to cancel my membership. Which I did.

I was intentionally being left out of things such as social media posts and shares (this was told to me directly from staff). It seemed that anytime I made a leaderboard, it would take weeks to share whereas if I did not participate, the results were shared quickly. My milestones were missed and not celebrated. I was hung up on by the head coach, emails were ignored, when I asked for help I was treated as if I were a burden. When I switched to 8 classes per month, staff signed me up for class, without my knowledge, and then refused to give me the class back until I asked them to confirm how I was signed up.

It got to the point where I was no longer able to sign up for any class that I wanted to take. I had to wait for a coach and front desk person that I felt safe with. That left me with one coach and one front desk person. Imagine having 8 classes to use per month and not feeling comfortable or safe enough to sign up because the staff made it clear that they did not want you there. At this point in time, I am still a member but cannot sign up because I no longer have staff/coaches that I feel comfortable around. I also refuse to sign up with coaches who have spoken poorly of me or treated me poorly because my participation in their class would result in more money in their pocket.

As a member who paid and participated with a positive attitude, I should have never felt bullied out of OTF. You shouldn't be told that head coaches don’t like you. You shouldn’t be told that staff do not like you and therefore leave you off of their social media. You shouldn't hear staff speaking poorly about other members while you wait for class to start. Members should not hear about internal problems. You should never feel uncomfortable walking through the doors in order to simply workout. But somehow, these things happened and its really, truly sad. This is not how to operate a gym.

I really hope that the owners see this review and take it to heart. I had asked to speak with one of them but was told it was not possible. I anticipate that the response to this review will not be a positive one. OTF Northside has a really good opportunity to inspire change and help others lead a healthy lifestyle. For me, this is where I landed when we first moved here from out of state. Some of my first friends were members. I loved being in the studio. But as a paying, loyal member, I could no longer walk in and feel safe enough to workout.

Scheduled a free initial workout. Woke up that morning to a massive snow storm and was unable to make it in, looked at my emails and had no way of cancelling. Was charged $13 for no showing on my "free" workout. This was never explained to me when reserving, was unaware of any cancellation fee. This experience tells me all I need to know about this gym. Will never entertain coming into an orange theory fitness ever again.

In response to orange theory: attached is my email regarding the free workout, and NOWHERE does it state there will be a cancellation charge of any kind. You dodged all accountability in charging an obscure fee to a prospective client, and instead attack the character of said prospective client by insinuating I only wish to attack and not accurately review local businesses. ALL of my reviews are unbiased and fair, accurately depicting the experience I had at that establishment. I feel it's a duty to inform the public of shady business practices, sleazy sales tactics, and/or the suggestion to just avoid a business all together due to repeat bad experiences. With the exception of your gym, I only take the time to leave a bad review after numerous failed attempts to honestly patron a store.

When it comes to your gym, I did not need a second attempt to visit, as charging a hidden fee for a free workout on the morning of a snow storm is at best sleazy, as anyone could use common sense and realize that due to weather, people might not make it in. Did I indeed take someone else's place on that particular morning? Was the class completely sold out except for one spot because of me? I highly doubt it.

FURTHERMORE, also attached is the email regarding the charge to my card, and NOWHERE in this email does it state that the fee will be refunded if I attend a future "free" class. Your weak attempt to excuse your shady business practices has absolutely no evidence in being rooted in truth, but rather rooted in covering up and walking back the ridiculous way you nickel and dime your clients, prospective and assumingly current. And you wonder why I chose to address this in a public forum rather than engage in further shady business?

Your response to my review and utter lack of care and understanding solidifies my position of never needing to consider an orange theory membership ever again. Thank you for truly confirming what I knew all along; I dodged a serious bullet.

What I like about OTF is it is coach lead, in a group environment, with different workout templates each day. Coaches Shannon, Issac, and Madi are super nice, motivating, and will help you with questions and your form if you're unsure about an exercise. As far as the members, everybody's always been really nice and respectful, there are members in their 20s all the way up to members in their senior years. I'm in my 50s and I never feel out of place. I joined OTF North-side about 18 months ago new to gym workouts, and my health has vastly improved since then. I highly recommend OTF North-side.

I’ve been a member at Orangetheory for 7 years. A year and a half ago I moved and changed my home studio to Spokane Northside. I love this studio! It was so easy to make new friends at the studio, the members are very welcoming. The coaches are AMAZING! I’ve been going to OTF for a few months now, and I can honestly say it’s been great. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and motivating, creating a high-energy environment that makes every class feel exciting and challenging. Before joining I was intimidated to learn more and figure out if OT was a good fit for me but I joined a friend for a free trial day and LOVED it. The way scheduling classes is set up holds me accountable to going and I LOVE Isaac's classes on the north side. I love that it's only an hour but you're working hard the whole hour. It's so good. Def recommend for anyone thinking about it!

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience. I was invited to a free class and was instructed to arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork. Despite arriving three minutes early, I was informed that I was late, and the class was nearly full. I believe there were no actual spots available, as there were many people present. I had canceled another appointment to attend this class, so this situation was especially frustrating. I would appreciate it if a manager or district manager could contact me to discuss this further. I am considering advising others to avoid this facility based on my experience.

I would not recommend going to orange theory. They over charged me every month for glitches in the app. They provided little to no support. Any way they can squeeze money out of customers they will. When I originally signed up they said they would support issues like this and never did. I have never heard back from higher ups when I had to elevate my concerns. My friends have had similar experiences. I would say go elsewhere where for group work outs that care about their customers.

Not only do I love OrangeTheory more than any other workout routine I've ever done, I've never experienced faster results and I've only been a member for less than 4 months. When I say results, I'm not necessarily talking just about fat loss. A reduction in body fat percentage is of course a result of the OrangeTheory method and consistently showing up, but there's so much more a person can gain. We live in a world where everyone seems to want an instant fix or a magic pill for health, but that doesn't exist. Health and wellness can only come with consistency and I think it's only sustainable when you're in it for something more than the size of your waistline, at least that's been my experience. I workout for the mental strength and wellbeing I gain. I work out for the confidence boost I get every day I show up. I work out to have more patience with my kids. I work out to test my own limits and see how strong I can get. I workout because I want my body to stay strong and pain free as I get older. And OrangeTheory makes working out so easy! I love just showing up and having someone tell me what to; I don't have to think about it, I just do what I'm told. Truly, every workout is different, which is really nice because you don't get bored or start to dread a certain aspect of the class. I also really appreciate the science based approach that OrangeTheory uses so that everyone can feel like they've maximized their workout, no matter what their fitness level is. I look forward to the extra challenges members can sign up for as they are a fun way to compete with yourself, which for me has been the key to consistency - competing with myself and seeing my progress along the way. The app to sign up for classes and track your workouts is great too. I plan to be a member for life!

Which if you are just getting back on that horse of going to the gym again, is super helpful. But once you get past that very much designed to always get your heart rate up and sweating a ton! You will not be unsatisfied if you decide to make orange theory your normal gym!
