Contacted this studio regarding private lessons via email, text, and phone. No response. I called them again and received a text from Karen asking me to text. Inquired about private lessons but was ghosted again. This is unprofessional and they seem like they don’t want business. Also I am pregnant, which I disclosed, so maybe they don’t want to give lessons to pregnant women?

I’ve been going to Reformer Pilates and Gyrotonic classes in Bellevue at Pivot Movement Studio since 2019; Pilates since 2006.

TL/DR: If you’re searching for Reformer Pilates or Gyrotonic classes in Bellevue that are welcoming, effective, and actually fun, Pivot Movement Studio is the (crisp and clean) spot.

I could nerd out about this place for days—so I’m breaking my review into parts.

This review is for anyone wondering:
What’s the parking like? Is it clean? Does it feel good to be there? Can I actually do this regularly, or is getting to the equipment the workout?

LOCATION
TL/DR: Close to the freeway and major arteries.
When I moved from Southern California to the Eastside, I tried to keep my “no more than 5 miles for a workout” rule.

Eastside Pilates options laughed at me.

Now I happily drive from Kirkland to Pivot because it’s worth it.
In addition to great instructors and multiple class types, the studio offers:

- Hassle-free parking (even when I’m running a bit behind!)
- Easy access—park and you’re in!
- No door codes
- No 1,000-step check-in process
- Proximity to the 520 for added convenience

If you’re juggling work, errands, and family, Pivot fits neatly into my “Holy Trifecta” routine—everything I do is on the way to or from Holy Point 1, 2, or 3 (kids’ school, work, groceries; whatever yours may be).

THE STUDIO SPACE
TL/DR: Cool, clean, modern—without being pretentious. Warm, like a loving home.

Pivot is light-filled and thoughtfully designed.

Unlike other studios that feel corporate or salesy (with distracting lighting), Pivot is crisp and welcoming.

Call me nerdy, but the apparatus is the decor.

And the art on the walls? It’s not mass-produced—it’s from local artists because Karen and the team are actually part of the Eastside’s creative community.

**Studio-space highlights include**:
- Beautiful sunrises during early-morning classes
- Trees and sky views—seriously, you pull up expecting a parking lot stare-down, but the way it’s laid out, all of that is below your view. If you’re trying to feel like you’re away from work/your desk, you will!
- A plug-in vibration plate (which I always tell myself I’m going to use 😏)

**Practical Matters**
- There’s a water dispenser, but I highly recommend just bringing yours full.
- The bathrooms have tampons and soap that doesn’t leave you feeling like you need all the hand cream ever made.
- Yes—it’s always clean.
- And yes—there are hardwood floors, not that weird gym carpet.

**Cleanliness Details: There’s a system!**
- Spray bottles with little wash cloths in the reformer extra-goodie boxes
- A rack with more wash cloths and spray bottles for the Gyro equipment
- A dirty clothes hamper for used cloths (no chance you’re just moving someone else’s sweat around!)
- Instructors who consistently prompt you to wipe down your equipment
- Patrons who love Pivot and don’t need to be asked

**Grip Socks**
Not required*
Available for purchase if you want them

(*For me, this is a sign of authenticity. Pilates, yoga, dance... Grip socks aren’t about hygiene. They’re about liability waivers and pack-’em-in mentality studios with all-level formats.)

Whether you’re looking for Reformer Pilates classes, Gyrotonic sessions, or a friendly Pilates studio in Bellevue that won’t feel corporate, intimidating, or hit & miss depending on the instructor, Pivot checks all the boxes.

If you’ve been thinking about trying Pilates or Gyrotonic but feel overwhelmed by options, start here! You’ll find the right class for where you’re at—and you’ll actually look forward to coming back.

Speaking of coming back: I’ll be back with notes on class types and instructors (who know how to sequence, cue, and guide you into correct form).

In the meantime, I hope to see you there—because that’s another thing: they attract the most down-to-earth, real people.

Very unhappy with their scheduling software and professionalism that caused a double booking. A private class took up one of the five reformers, originally booked and paid for by my group of three and another group of two. Luckily for them, there was an opening in another class and one individual in my group was willing to compromise.

We were also surprised to see bare feet on the reformers (not very hygienic). The class was alright and the instructor was nice. Overall disappointed by my first Pilates experience as there was no compensation for our compromise and inconvenience.

I can't say enough good things about Pivot Movement Studio. I have been attending 1 session per week with Jessica Grady for about 2-3 months now. She is an amazing instructor. Jessica keeps each session fresh, fun, and challenging. I have already noticed how much stronger and balanced I am. I have better control over individual parts of my body and being an equestrian and golfer it is critical to access different parts of my body independently in order to perform at the highest levels of the sport. No matter what your goals are, if you are looking to improve your awareness, balance, strength and a harmonious well being Pivot Movement Studio is the perfect place to achieve your goals. The studio is well equipped with a positive supporting environment. So head on over to get started on your life goals. You won't be disappointed.

Pivot is a great studio where I take Gyrotonics regularly as part of my rehab efforts to maintain my physical wellbeing after several ankle surgeries. I truly enjoy the classes, every instructor I’ve had has been knowledgeable and wonderful. I feel supported, connected, and excited to come to every class. After each class, I go home feeling happy and energized. The studio’s friendly environment is full of positive energy and its awesome vibes makes me want to keep coming back.

I love taking classes with Li and Sasi! I like how the small group classes allow you to go slow and focus on your form, making the workout more effective. The studio is clean and staff are wonderful.

Beautiful space! I love that a full class is only 5 clients. That way, the instructor is able to give you attention and assist when needing corrections/help. I have taken many classes at this studio with different instructor and all have been super friendly and knowledgeable. I am now a regular client :)

Attended the Pilates Reformer Foundations class for the first time at Pivot with Sasi (Tues, 1:30pm) while in Washington through Class Pass and I can say it was a pleasant experience. Check-in was easy (signing a waiver) then changed into my socks with grips. The class started on time, Sasi gave me a quick run down of the reformer and its parts. We then started with breath work and stretches, then we got into it. Sasi was very attentive (total of 3 ppl including myself), encouraging and kind throughout the class. As I’m new learning Pilates, the class kept small was a huge plus!

The space was clean, beautiful and welcoming.

Although there was construction around, getting there was easy and parking was available, front and behind.

I don’t think Pilates is something I’ll go to regularly, maybe here and there, but I do recommend the class for those who want to try it and see if it’s their thing.

They have lots of issues for scheduling. I bought one duet and two private introductory private classes. And got cancelled three times randomly on the day of my class for various reasons.
And onetime I was even there and I was told they misscheduled and actually don’t have a classs.

This studio was great! It was really nice and clean and the instructors were so welcoming and informative. Would come back. It was my first Pilates class but the instructor made it really easy to follow along and the class was small so she was able to focus on each of us.

Pivot is the epitome of Seattle's healing center- physically and emotionally. Each staff at Pivot is caring, mindful, and detail-oriented. I had severe pain in my foot, knee, and hip that prevented me from regular exercises. However, Pivot helped me to get back to my regular routine- absolute experts in fitness and rehab. Thank you!!!

I love Pivot! I’ve done both Gyrotonic and Pilates with several instructors and it has become an irreplaceable, invaluable part of my training. I am a competitive dancer, and my body awareness, flexibility, strength, and coordination have been taken to a new level thanks to Pivot. Not only is Karen and the team of instructors knowledgeable, experienced, and professional, but they are also always friendly, supportive, and warm. I would recommend everyone to try a class at Pivot.

I signed up for a gyrotonic class for dancers and had a blast!! The instructor was Adrianna. She was full of positive energy and very inclusive. I was the only non-dancer ... like these dance protégé kids were taking the class and there was me. But both Karen and Adrianna was very welcoming and I got a good fun workout

I've been doing private pilates lessons at the Greenlake studio and I am SO impressed! After just 2 sessions my back feels better than ever. My instructor Kristina is very knowledgeable about the body and exercise, gives great cues, and really has a sharp eye for noticing asymmetry or if you're engaging the wrong muscle for the exercise. Feels very safe during COVID as well. Looking forward to more!

I am happy to do cardio and weight lifting but never get around to stretching, and as we age, this is a necessary part of fitness. Karen and Pivot Gyrotonics makes stretching fun and my back and shoulders feel awesome - which is a downright miracle.
