I got here around 4:30ish and the parking lot was empty. Plenty of spaces! The moment it turned 5 o'clock, I see several cars pulling in with people ready for their morning workout (assuming these are all regulars). As a van dweller on a road trip at the moment, this Planet Fitness felt like a safe haven. The Staff at this location were very nice. They helped me check-in and get a Black Card guest pass for my boyfriend.

When i went to this planet fitness a long time ago, I saw 2 employees arguing with this guy about slamming weights. It got out of hand and the employees grabbed him and slammed him on the ground and dragged him out while he was screaming to the back and then I heard a loud bang, gunshot like, the guy they took didn't come back and the employees had something red on their shirts

a few years back, when I served in nam. I went to this gym to see what it was all about. When I went to one of the machines and accidentally slammed the weights, a mob of employees came out and tossed me into the back room where they proceeded to handicap me for life by filling my kneecaps full of lead. 50 minutes after I crawled my way out after this incident, a naked old man was brutally molesting me outside the gym and i played helpless on the ground crying

Planet fitness advertises as a friendly, no judgmental ‘gym in your living room’ kind of place and this location nails it! I’ve been to several locations in the area and this is by far my favorite. The staff are incredibly friendly. I know that they are required to great people when they come in the door, but it never feels fake. I genuinely feel like they’re saying hi to me. The gym itself is smaller, but it gives it more of a homey vibe and I like that I see regular friendly faces when I’m visiting. There aren’t very many ‘bodybuilder types’ at this location and I often see disabled, elderly and those who are overweight working out at this location. I don’t say that to be judgmental, I’m simply trying to iterate how comfortable it is to work out here if, you are like me, and you don’t feel comfortable in your own body. The locker room is a decent size and is always clean. No complaints. I’m very happy 😁

This gym had been open M-Th 24hours, recent owners have adjusted opening hours for 5AM weekdays, other PF locations have earlier hours/ 24hrs & would like to see this location open at 4AM. Our family schedule caused us to change gyms for this reason only, we love this location & the staff. All of the Black Card benefits are great for the price.
Corporate- Please adjust hours, earlier options are limited in the area & you may see an increase in membership for this reason. Also, its been a few months, the LA fitness had just closed 2 blocks from this location & the hours of operations was not attracting new members was the talk at the water cooler. Thx

Well I finally bit the ball enjoying the camp valley but I go to this one mostly just cuz you know I don't really like the neighborhood as well and Kent valley even though it's fine I mean it's nothing wrong with it but you know I just like to buy better Redondo but my only beef with is it so far away from my house I wish there was something in Normandy Park and be way closer or burien or even Westwood village but there's a gym in Westwood village so they probably wouldn't go there. I guess the big gems have gone thewayof the dodo. This part is new on Monday Yeah I came in today and man this guy was a house on fire man I saw her I thought well she's gonna run this place very soon anyway she was money on in the bank did it play that crap on music like usual they did have 1 good song dua lipa like thousand state cause they put the same old crap on after her and then yeah I love that single bathroom in there the hand the the single They should have 1 everyWhere donn't know why they don't .

I previously had some concerns about this gym, but I’m happy to say things have greatly improved! The new management has made a real difference. The current manager is incredibly friendly, approachable, and truly cares about members’ experiences. The gym feels more welcoming, organized, and well-run than ever before. First I came in and i couldn’t figure out how to sign in and I asked for help and the lady at the front desk was so rude she said since I came from Oregon she is not able to let me in..Since am new to all this, I just thought maybe I have my app and I checked and that’s when I was able to sign in.I finished my trade mill then I asked the front desk lady to sign me in for message seats since am a black card member and she said I do it myself and I didn’t know where to start since in Oregon they sign us in with a lot of help.I asked her she was rude didn’t help and I had to leave without doing what I paid for.I had suggested to my boyfriend to go there but I already told him to never go there.They assume everyone knows what to do with their laptops.Or maybe what’s her work there??🥹

This morning I went to the gym to inquire about a new membership. I wanted to try a free day or look around. The lady on the front desk denied me. I talked to her about a membership.. she explained it to me, but I felt like she is waisting her time. This made me not want to come back. Planet fitness is my second home. It’s my Hospital where I burn calories and bring down my high sugar level. It’s the place where I relax when get bored, stressed or feel lonely. Planet fitness is a lot for me more than I can say.

It’s so sad I write negative review about this particular place. My love planet fitness all the hard working staff will never change.

I just wanted to bring the managers attention to what happened on Friday evening 4/18/25 around 8.25 - 8-30.

The Lady, I could not catch her name but looks like American Samoa, trashed me when I was on my way out. I have been to this place not more than four times. So I kinda new here. The first day I came to this place, she kicked me out. I did not say any thing but left. Tonight, she started saying I remember you I kicked you out last time. She kept saying it. And I said, I am a black card member now. I heard her sounding like a ship sound over and over. With her hand showing trashing/damping sign.

I was like what? She did not care she went on. The other girl, who I always see her helping people, I can see her face scared ashamed by her coworker acting unprofessional . She waved her hand to me saying “have good one”

I just can’t believe such people are working in planet fitness the GYM that everyone Loves!
I hope the Managers will Watch Cameras see what happened

Ive loved planet fitness for a while. It's easy, cheap and no one really bothers you if you arent bothering them. Im working out today in crocs, because I have some bone issues that makes doing leg day in elevated soles difficult and makes my arms numb. Im in the middle of a set when the manager and another employee come up to my and demand i leave because of my "sandals". However as an autistic person, MAYBE PUT CROCS on the sign if you don't want them. Anyways, they demand i leave right away with no respect or kindness at all. I ask if I can just finish my workout today and do it again later, they say unless i have sneakers i need to leave immediately. What jerks. Judgement free is nonsense. They just want to target individuals who have a harder time working out and get a monthly paycheck. I canceled immediately.

I used to love this location, but the lately the lady manager so rude to the staff, and myself when I go in -
I cannot stand when staff who are kind and great at their jobs get a manager that acts like She acts she is above the coworkers who she is supposed to lead. The whole vibe is way off .
It’s changed so much that I changed clubs- I go to de stres not to deal with people who act like a child.

my friend who signed up at Des Moines, was treated really rudely by Rachal the manager that she changed clubs as well. The Ryan at Des Moines is wonderful. It’s just so sad so many of us have changed to a different location. Because we don’t want to deal with a bad attitude and witness a manager be nasty to her staff.
That is no way to lead. Kindness understanding and being someone to look up to is always the way.
I have met several other people who changed clubs when I have been at fed way, because of Rachel as well- last week I talked to a couple who complained as well.

So glad we all found our new place to vibe! I do miss the staff at my old club, Olivia and Mady are the best! They make coming in great!

24MAR2025: Ryan, a General Manager, waited for me to begin exiting the facility. Claiming he watched me removed a soap dispenser from the sinks and bring it with me to the shower. He could not provide any identifying information pertaining to time and other describing to make his accusation credible such as towel on the hook, description of where and to nor could he appropriately. Then he follows he made a statement that "this has been happening all the time." When I asked when the soap thefts has been happening, he stated they were occurring four months ago (placing the timeline to November for Ryan's earliest observance) where I began to go to the Planet Fitness in Des Moines religiously since January. I called my home gym (in Bremerton) to confirm when I began going to the Des Moines location and informed me was the 14th of January. I do not recommend the Des Moines location.

I’m so shocked the staff were so rude to me for asking a question about how to use the massage chairs. I’ve never used them before and they both laughed at me and threw their hands up like it was sooo annoying a first-timer was asking how to use something. They left out so many details and I needed to keep asking questions about what room I need to go in, how to start the chair, etc. Then when I went inside they completely started the massage chair early and I didn’t get my full massage service. This happened on March 3rd around 5:30-6pm. The extremely mean girls at the front was an Asian girl and a Caucasian girl both on the chunky side.

It's an okay gym. There isn't anything extra than what would be expected. The hours were better up until about a month ago. The shortened hours make it more crowded, and there's usually a line for certain equipment.

I registered the membership last Apr 2024. I called to cancel the membership in Jun 2024 as I would be out of country for couple months and I had never went to the gym. The guy on the call confirm the cancellation and then I did not check until now that I was still charged the fee every month. Called again and they said I need to come in person to cancel. They tried to make it so hard to cancel and if you forgot then they charge you still. This Planet Fitness is a thief.

Getting a account with them is no good.
If you physically can't get down there to cancel your plan do to health problems they will freeze your account and then still charge you. They won't send you no reminder update of the account being unfrozen or nothing. Then they will say " well we have your bank info so will just keep charging you" ( i have no bank.. this card is locked so it'll keep say insufficient funds and they'll keep adding on late fees). Instead of canceling my account like they should have done in 2023 when I was going through health issues they say no we can only freeze.
I won't ever pay them cause this is inconsiderate and unprofessional.

Don't waste your money here just work out at home or go to LA Fitness pay the extra smh

I have not been to planet fitness since Dec of 2022, maybe even a little before that. I canceled my membership in Dec of 2022. Apparently, even though I signed the cancelation contract, the contract was never posted to my account and in February of 2023, I got charged continuously out of my savings account until I closed that bank account end of March of 2024. Then my credit card was charged starting April 2024 on because they could not get ahold of my regular bank. I did not notice this as I trusted the general manager, TJ, at the time had canceled my account properly. When I went in to get my money back and get this fixed, I was told they could only give back 3 months worth of charges after I "officially" canceled the account because there is no proof of the original cancellation contract. OF COURSE THERE ISNT!

This was not my mistake. I have the proof that I canceled my account in 2022. The finances show, I have not checked in since cancelling, and an employee who was hired by that same manager made me aware that the same manager who helped me at the time made a lot of mistakes that they are still cleaning up 2 years later. So tell me why Planet Fitness refuses to fix their mistake?Tell me why Planet fitness refuses to return the money that they have literally stolen from me? 3 months of return is a sorry excuse to make me go away.

"I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and embarrassment during my recent visit to Planet Fitness located at 27073 Pacific Hwy S, Des Moines, WA on September 20, 2024, at approximately 6:20 PM.

While I was on the treadmill, Destiny, the front desk staff, approached me in a loud and humiliating manner, saying "You need to pay! You didn't pay!" She was very loud and continued to repeat herself, drawing attention from other members. I was taken aback by her behavior and felt embarrassed.

Destiny waited until I grabbed my belongings from the treadmill and walked to the front desk, where she continued to lecture me in a loud tone, saying "You have to pay before you start working out!" She didn't give me a chance to respond or explain myself, and her behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful.

I was humiliated and embarrassed by Destiny's behavior, and I believe that she should be held accountable for her actions. As a loyal member of Planet Fitness for over six years, I expect more from the staff, especially when it comes to handling sensitive situations like this.

I hope that you will take my feedback seriously and address this issue with Destiny and the rest of the staff. I believe that she should receive training on how to handle situations like this in a more professional manner."

Today was my first time in a Planet Fitness and I must say I was pretty impressed. With the price being so low expectations were pretty low honestly. But quickly learned that I was wrong after walking in. They have all sorts of workout equipment and the locker rooms are really good sized and kept pretty clean from what I could tell. Definitely worth the small monthly fee for this gym!

Among all the clerks I met so far, only one person could be nice thoughtful for keeping the power on at least one TV screen (the one with live time)until soon before the closed time of the day. The actual "worst" thing so far probably waa the current famele evening-time manager seemed insisted on shuting down all the screens too early "around 15-13 minutes " prior the closed time 10:00pm of the day. The next time I went there right after the night a day before, she(sat by a table,front of counter) heard me briefly chatted with the nicer clerk for my thank to his thoughtfulness for not turning off all the TV screens too early prior the closed time(which is already ealier than many other locations around for Mondays-Thursdays). Moreover, no employees there seemed ever paid attention on the adjustment of all of the interior small wall clock inside for several months particlarly now even the main large wall clock time wasn't updated since the change to Daylight Saving time just recently !

I have always had a stigma about PF thinking it was a joke gym but recently a friend got a job as a trainer there and after talking to him I decided to give it a try since the gym I just started at closed the location I was going to. It was a good experience overall. Friendy staff. Ivan helped my friends and I through the sign up process and even answered all our questions without hesitation/having to get someone else. After our workout, we tried the hydromassage beds/loungers, and they were amazing. only negative is we were trying to workout in the circuit area but people would come in and just sit on the equipment and play on their phone or just use the one machine over and over even though there are signs in the area stating these machines are for the circuit workout only. other than that, everything was great. Their app is great because it has several useful tools.

Triple charged my debit card! In two months they have charged me over $175! I called to straighten it out over the last two weeks talk to two employees who both said that they saw that I was charged inappropriately three times. They told me to wait for four days for a manager to contact me, who never did. When I finally got a hold of a manager after waiting for five days and making five phone calls, he said that I was not in fact charge that much however, my bank statement says otherwise they are refusing to return my money. They are refusing to remove my debit card and now i have to cancel my credit card. in my book that makes them thieves and liars and bad people.

I would give no stars if I could. The Assistant General Manger Kurt was extremely rude and condescending to me today when I went to check in. I don’t know if he has an issue with women or POC but I’ve been to this location recently numerous times with no issues. He hassled me saying my bill past due and when I showed him in the app that it was good he continued to hassle me. I told him I was going to go to another location where I usually workout since he seemed so confrontational.

When I left an older man saw me coming out upset and asked me what was going on. I told him and he said everyone was new there. I called Kurt on my way to the other location to ask for a manager or owners number to speak with about the situation. He refused to give me both stating that there was no one else but him and hung up on me.

Then he called the other location!!! And told them to refuse me. A location I’ve been going to daily recently. Wow I’ve never had someone be so malicious. Strangely enough I found the owners info for his club (so he lied) and the other club helped me figure out what was the issue. I told them exactly what I told him. I showed them the app and they got me all sorted no issues and a thank you to them for their help.

Honestly if you’re gonna hire a thug to be a bill collector for you put him on the phones not up front dealing with customers.

The new hours are lame. I would think those dedicated to early morning workouts would be you most faithful members, and would be the ones you would want to keep them. From a business standpoint I can see how limiting the hours may save $$, but it’s really disappointing a lot of the regular early AM members. Gym was taken over by new owners and the hours changed. I can't be there during their open hours and now I can't even cancel my membership without taking the day off to make it during these new hours to do so...the new hours are dumb. I want to bring it to your kind attention there is a white skinny guy tall and with blue eyes is he is your staff member somehow sometimes doing exercise in the evening time also he is coming in the weekends he is differently criticizes people in the gym also he is chiling and making jokes and funs with other gymrs and staff in workout area which we are feeling unsafe and uncomfortable please check and look at your gym cameras observe this guy closely. This is free judgment zone, you have to hair mature people not kids. I am just informing you to be closely monitor your staff members to avoid conflicts in the future.

Had a membership for a few months and started seeing random 75$/$45 charges from planet fitness. Multiple charges. Days apart. What is going on here? I had to track the manager down by stopping in every day for a week to get my money back. I cancelled immediately, in person. It's a shame because this supposed '$10 a month' is a great price, but now it just looks to me like they're preying on people who need a low price like that. Gross, I can't go back.

Unresponsive management. Repeated issues with them not billing correctly. They lost my deposit account information, not once but twice for my son's account, terrible communication, and lack of accountability
Never notified they were reopening after covid, just received surprise billing and annual fee for all 3 accounts.
They make it difficult to end membership.
Don't recommend it.

Love this place! The new manager TJ is great so glad to see the changes he is making. The staff are much more friendly since TJ took over.

Gym is good but the workers are really incompetent. I went in today to cancel a membership that I had with my abusive ex and they gave me a hard time and assumed it was his checking account when it was mine. The man I got didn't take me seriously at all and pretty much was mansplaining to me the whole time that it was his account when it was under MY CHECKING ACCOUNT. It literally took coming into this facility three times before the membership got cancelled. It shouldn't be that hard to cancel a membership. The man that was assisting me didn't come back and take me seriously until another woman who worked there checked in to see if I had been helped. I'd suggest taking business elsewhere because it should not be this hard to cancel a membership.

I joined This Planet Fitness as a regular member home gym and everything was fine I went and upgraded during the covid span covid span of being open not open and at one point you called the 800 number to join blah blah blah well when I upgraded my basic membership didn't get canceled properly according to a new general manager that just wants to argue and fight and stop his feet like a little kid even though my black card membership is in good standing he basically refuses entry into that gym call corporate I was told that I would receive a call from upper management within a day or two it's been approximately 6 to 8 weeks I have yet to hear from the ownership or upper management to try to clear up the issues of them wanting to double dip and get paid for a membership that I've upgraded and pay more money for but they want money for the other membership how can you cancel membership move the bank information and not cancel it and then they want more money doesn't make sense to me double dipping is not allowed in my world if I could give him zero Stars I would

I had my membership canceled today!
I went in around Jan/ Feb to get it cancelled and of course someone helped me, the person was quick to say you're all set my man! Off I went just to find out I still got charged for the anual fee and the last 5 months my checking it's been charged with the monthly fee. I moved far from this gim and could come in before, I called at least twice and they said no body could help over the phone. So my account kept getting charged.
Today when I was in taking to a person he said "there's no way you can be refund for the money, I'm sorry" he said the person that supposed helped you is not here anymore.
Well that's too bad right now that I really wish I can have the money as I'm in very bad money situation. Not trying to be petty but those mistakes can not be accepted. 😞

In 2019 I cam in seeking membership. I was told that my prosthetic shoes were not allowed. I was told I could not be a member. I was promised later that the manager would call and we could try and make arrangements. It is now 2022 and the manager refuses to speak with me.
