I had a very disappointing experience with this fitness club. They kept charging me extra fees that I never agreed to, and even after I was told that my account had been fully closed, the charges continued to appear on my bank statement. I contacted them multiple times, but nothing was resolved. This kind of behavior feels dishonest and unprofessional. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing friendly staff and this place is always clean. What I appreciate even more is how us members help keep the gym at point. All work out stations are in great condition and no damages on seats. A Truly Judgment-Free Zone: My Positive Experience at Planet Fitness Milton, WA
I've been a member of Planet Fitness in Milton, WA for a while now, and I can confidently say it lives up to its "Judgement Free Zone" promise. It's truly a fantastic spot for anyone looking to get active in a welcoming and supportive environment.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of this gym is consistently impressive. The staff clearly takes pride in maintaining a spotless facility, from the workout areas to the locker rooms and restrooms. It makes a huge difference in feeling comfortable and motivated to get your workout in.
Beyond the cleanliness, the atmosphere is a major plus. You don't feel intimidated or out of place here, regardless of your fitness level. There's a wide variety of equipment, so I've always been able to find what I need, and it's rarely ever overly crowded, even during peak hours. This means less waiting for machines and more time focusing on my workout.
But what truly sets this Planet Fitness apart is the staff. They are consistently friendly, accommodating, and genuinely helpful. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile, and if you ever have a question or need assistance with equipment, they're always there to lend a hand. Special shout-outs to individuals like Montana, Ari and Quincy(as I've seen mentioned in other reviews) who clearly go above and beyond to make members feel valued. Their positive energy is contagious!
While it's true that Planet Fitness might not have all the heavy lifting equipment of a traditional bodybuilding gym, for a comprehensive and accessible fitness experience, the Milton location is spot on. The amenities like tanning beds and massage chairs (especially with a Black Card membership) are a nice bonus for post-workout relaxation.
If you're in the Milton area and looking for a gym that's clean, welcoming, and staffed by genuinely great people, I highly recommend checking out Planet Fitness. It's a fantastic place to reach your fitness goals without any of the usual gym anxiety.

Good customer service still exists!!! After my last negative rating I received a call about it within days. Montana left a voicemail explaining the mishap with the tanning machines and bulbs situation. She explained and communicated, which is all I needed to feel better and make things right. Yesterday I went in and finally had the courage to ask about the Total Body Enhancement machine. Ari was working the front desk and took the time to explain and answer all my questions; all while multitasking with ease by checking people in, and still continuing to carry on our conversation. I really appreciated her kindness since it takes a lot for me to get up the nerve to speak to a stranger. I have to say that I am very proud to say I go to the Planet Fitness-Milton. I am happy to brag about it to friends and family and was even able to get my stepson to purchase a membership. Not only is Planet Fitness-Milton helping me physically, but the mood boost I get when interacting with the staff is not easily found in a gym atmosphere. Thank you Montana, Ari, and Planet Fitness-Milton for helping me in my journey to become holistically healthy!

I love all of the options of exercises. In particular I love the circuit room where I can get a full body workout. Also the spa area is my favorite way to “reward” myself for a good work out. WORST PLANET FITNESS!!! my friends and i wanted to try out this location and one of them had on adidas foam runners. as we entered with excitement, an employee, tom, at the front desk, immediately had an extremely aggressive tone and did not even welcome us in, like he did everyone else. he did not allow my friend to work out because of her shoes, even though she wears them at other locations, and proceeded to make unnecessary remarks after we started to leave. i never would’ve expected to be treated as such in a place that claims to be a “judgement free zone.” i would NOT recommend this place to anyone, especially people of color.

Today I went in with some of my friends and had the worst experience. Tom at the front desk was very rude and discriminatory towards us. He told me that he hopes I drop a weight on my foot because of my shoes (which are closed toe athletic shoes). From the moment we walked in his attitude was already not friendly as he didn’t greet us, but said hello to everyone else. Unfortunately I have to change my review of this Planet Fitness. Almost every one of the hand sanitizer stations were empty today! I informed the staff and they let me know the manager is expecting to remove the hand sanitizers. I completely understand cutting the cost of supplies to keep your profit margin higher. But, I have been in the Physical Therapy field for over 25 years and have treated people who have had bacterial infections and MRSA from gym equipment. Yes you can wet a towel to lightly clean the machine with the spray they provide when you’re are done using the equipment, but trust me on this the handles are not as clean as you might suspect. I’m versed in Universal Precautions from working in hospitals. To effectively clean a machine to remove bacteria you need to spray the whole machine down. This then causes the gym to go through more disinfectant spray than the hand sanitizer cost. I’ll post a picture as to how to properly clean gym equipment to prevent spread of virus or bacterial pathogens. I’m not sure if this is the same owner as the Planet Fitness in Federal Way, but I stopped going to that location because it is frequently out of paper towels and cleaning products. Every staff member I have talked to state they are just as frustrated as I am on how the management cuts corners in terms of keeping a sanitary environment. I’ll be looking at other gyms by the 1st of the year if this is not corrected.

If I good give this review a negative zero I would. The up keep is "VERY VERY POOR". What I mean by that is because I noticed that they have very few hand wipe stations as well as garbages around for such a very big gym. I even mentioned this to their manager and they told me the owner was cutting back because that's what the owner wanted to save money. I told her "it was beginning to become fall (flu & covid season) and they need to have more hand wipe stations because majority of the clients is not going to walk all the way over to the hand wipe stations to grab paper towels & spray to wipe the machine down then turn around and walk it back. That's not to include those clients that can't find the stations because they aren't visible to see". The manager mentioned that they were going to put out more wipe stations but it never happened. Now to make things worst I went into the gym today and got ready to use the hand sanitizer pumps hanging on the wall and it was empty. One of the employees seen I was attempting to use it and he told me: "SORRY IT'S EMPTY". I responded back and said: "WELL CAN YOU REFILL IT". He responded back by saying: "THE OWNER SAID HE'S NOT GOING TO REPLACE THEM". I then went to the front counter and asked one of the employees for some hand sanitizer and he told me: "THERE WAS NO MORE & THE OWNER WASN'T GOING TO REPLACE THEM". All I've been hearing lately about this owner is he's cutting back on all supplies and the employees hours etc. which is totally fine but to cut back on supplies that's going to keep their clients safe, clean & more importantly healthy is just "TOTALLY SELFISH & INSANE". He raised the membership fees but cut back on supplies. If you want to stay healthy and not possibly get sick (FLU, COVID ETC) being it's fall season I would not go to Planet Fitness if your health & safety is very important to you. Who wants to patronize a business that doesn't care about no one but their own pockets and totally disregards their clients health & safety. He is totally selfish, uncaring & worthless in my opinion. It
just says a lot about his character. By the way these poor & unhealthy practices aren't just happening at this location. It's happening at all the locations in the King & Pierce County locations that this owner owns. I know all of this info because I've visited almost all of them and more importantly one of his own employees gave me the
inside scoop about how cheap he is and how he's changing everything for the worst by cutting back every way he possibly can to save mpney. He gets a big fat negative zero in my opinion.

Again, I went to the front desk and advised one of there employees that the paper towels station did not have a spray bottle for me to use to wipe down the machine and his response was: "THERE ARE SOME SPRAY BOTTLES WAY OVER THERE" and my response was: " NO BODY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO LOOK FOR CLEANING SUPPLIES AFTER WORKING OUT ON THE MACHINES. I've been a member of Planet Fitness for several years spanning multiple locations across 3 states.Today I was refused access to the Milton club due to wearing Crocks (covered toed with back strap) footwear. When challenging this exclusion by staff citing contract policy, I asked to see the stipulation. The staff specifically stated that Crocks were listed as a banned footwear. Reviewing the protocols and reading the highlighted portions of the rules, there was zero mention of this type of attire. After speaking to a manager via telephone, I was informed that each club can arbitrarily impose any rule they deem. When pressed as to the origin of this rule the manager stated that it was a company policy, however she was unable to convey who in their company issues this mandate and stated that since she took over 3 weeks ago this was the new policy (I have witnessed dozens of occasions previously of other patrons utilizing this footwear in this Milton location). While I accept their decision, the logic behind this rule is lacking imo. How a piece of fabric provides more protection than a closed toes robust rubber covering was something that the manager was unable to articulate.
I will reconsider my membership here in light of this negative occurrence. Saying this, Planet Fitness, the facilities equipment, and their staff have always represented a quality experience. Perhaps a more direct example of their protocols should be updated to reflect this grey area.

OK. I've had enough. I'm new to the Milton area and am looking for a new gym. I've been to the Milton Planet Fitness now 3 times to find myself waiting ridiculous amounts of time for anyone at the front desk to acknowledge me. They're either on phone calls or with someone on a computer. My complaint is that you have absolutely no idea how long you have to stand and wait for someone to get to you. On top of that, I'd feel guilty if I needed a tour of the facility because I'd be taking away much needed help at the front desk. I gave it my 3rd attempt just a bit ago and there's just one person at the front desk with no other help and a line of people forming. Ridiculous! Moving on.

I actually liked this location until I realized they charged my account different amounts every month for the last year! Also, they even took up to 4 $11 payments in a month cycle. When I tried to resolve this with Tristan their "manager" he did absolutely nothing. They were trying to charge an account that was closed and once that payment didn't process they would charge my correct account and add on a $15 fee one week later? Interesting that a gym's main selling point is being open 24 hours, then they can just decide not to do that anymore. There seems to be an issue every now and then with opening on Weekend mornings as well, this passed Saturday I waited around for 20 minutes passed the time they were supposed to open, no one showed, parking lot full of paying customers that could not get in. Luckily the tanning bed in room 4 has 1/2 of the bulbs out on the lid portion, probably a general concern for their customers skin health. This has quickly become the most ghetto planet fitness around.

3 weeks ago my daughters car was stolen from the planet fitness parking lot in Milton. They went into the women’s locker room, used bolt cutters and cut her lock. They took her wallet, ID, credit and debit cards, cash, and car keys. Then walked out to the parking lot and took her car. This has been an absolute nightmare, within 24 hours they had already attempted to also steal her identity. Luckily we were on top of it but I’m sure it’s not over.

Now we are faced with replacing a paid for perfectly good car, her first car we gave her on her 16th birthday. Not only the feeling of being violated and victimized but now thousands of dollars to replace this car. This is a much longer story, but my point of posting this is to let the community know what is happening at planet fitness. This is a well coordinated crime.

I recently found out another car was stolen on March 15th in the exact same manner. I also know of prior thefts in the recent past as well.

Today I spoke with a manager at planet fitness. I asked if they are actively doing anything to make their business safe for members. This person was very open and apologetic but was also very honest. Planet fitness has a new ownership and to her best knowledge has no plan for increased security in parking lot or locker room. It doesn’t sound like they have any plans to do anything. I suggested security at the door, one of those parking lot robo cop type of camera system that runs on solar, locker room attendant, etc….

This post is not meant to be negative or slam planet fitness. I think it’s a great gym. My daughter loved it and was doing really good. But if it’s not safe, it’s not worth the membership costs. I would love if the new owners chimed in this conversation, until then everyone please be aware.

I would give this gym 5 stars if they didn’t give preferential treatment to certain people with the massage beds. Every time I try to use a massage bed as part of my spa package, there’s an older Asian lady on it for over an hour x2 a day. The staff will not get her off even when all the massages are full. I’m paying for the same experience yet I cannot even get a massage. It’s frustrating that equal treatment isn’t offered to all customers. I’ve complained and written emails yet get no response. This just needs to be addressed by owners/management. Other than this issue, the gym is very nice.

Staff is friendly and professional. They keep the gym clean. However, unclean music can be heard.
Understandable that majority members have earbuds/ headphones and listen to their music of choice. Nevertheless, lots of young children who cannot afford ear protection get exposed to unclean rap. Please leadership of PF gym, fix the tune. Do a small favor to all customers, play clean music. Thank you.
