Unprofessional & Frustrated! Cancelled my membership in person over a year ago! Was thinking about joining again and found out my account was being billed for over a year. I called to see if I could get some help with this issue and the girl on the phone told me that it wasn't her problem and that I had a membership with another location l, which wad wrong. She yelled at me and said she didn't have any proof that I talked to someone before to cancel. I'm not sure, how. That's my problem being the customer. And I'm literally asking her for help, and she plain outright said there's nothing she could do for me, then she gave me a phone number to call, where it's absolutely impossible to reach anyone.
She also said I could cancel my membership online.
That is also a never ending loop that I could not figure out how to do. Is this the only way you can make money off people. Look forward to my lawsuit!

I was passing through Olympia on my home to Seattle & decided to stop by. Love that it's open 24/7, love the new equipment, love how clean it is & really liked the spread out setup of all the different areas & equipment throughout the gym. It's obvious that it was very well thought out. I will definitely return when I'm in the area again!

Great clean, naturally-lit, open layout. Joe at the checkin counter was so patient and kind!!! I was having check-in issues and was snappy (caffeinated and had to pee and was anxious to work out ya know? Sorry Joe!!) and he helped me get into the app, called my home gym and made everything super easy, all while being personable. I wish this was my home gym! Great vibes. 🤙🏼

My membership is through the lacey planet fitness but I've been with the Olympia location since August 2023! This location is the best, I had some account issues and one of the managers Karina didn't hesitate to give me the best service. She is always bringing good energy when I come and workout !! This gym is incredibly spacious and offers a wide variety of equipment that's kept up. Bathroom was clean, and the staff was friendly also. Visited from out of town, and took clear notice that the equipment at my home PF location are all older models. It'll still get the job done, but I'll be missing this Olympia location in the meantime.

Traffic isn't great, BUT it is an easy in and out of the large parking lot. Staff is pleasant, facilities are clean, and the bathrooms are well maintained. My only issue is that they ignore simple, inexpensive add-ons and fixes to improve guest experience.
1. The dressing rooms are missing hooks. Each should have 5 for a backpack, a towel, jeans, shirts, and one for miscellaneous. The most hooks in any of the stalls is only 1 in the handicap stall.
2. The dressing rooms are missing benches and chairs. Every dressing room should have at least one of the two, if not both.
3. The handicap shower is missing a towel hook on the wall. It has to use the shower next door's if it's available.
4. The handicap shower is also missing a shower head holder on the wall. Instead the hose and head just dangle on or near the floor and must be held at all times while you're in the shower, which is difficult enough for people who have mobility in both arms and legs. This should get resolved first.

Overall, in Washington State, it's still a top 5 location. If they make some minor adjustments to add to customer experience & comfort, then they may eventually pass Puyallup as the number one PF in Washington 🤷‍♂️

Decent place, but the "bring a friend" hoops you have to jump through are crap. I'm not interested in giving all my personal information and photo to a corporation to do God knows what with, just to workout. And now I'll be getting a bunch of spam emails probably.
7 June - Made the mistake of coming back again with a friend. The "friendly staff" just says "it's the rules". Fill out this form, create an account, show us your ID, take a picture...gimme a break. Makes me glad I haven't upgraded to the black card at my home gym. The endless frustration would spike my blood pressure

Planet Fitness is by far the BEST gym for me! I've had memberships for years at more expensive gyms (24-Hour Fitness, LA Fitness), plus elite (club-like) non-chain gyms.

The Olympia Planet Fitness is big, not too crowded, even after work, and immaculately CLEAN. They've got great staff who actually recognize me and ask me how I'm doing, especially if I've gone out of town for a bit.

They have an awesome (and LOTS) selection of machines for strength building and cardio. And members are good about wiping off the equipment before and after using it.

The locker rooms are spacious, and there's plenty of parking. Plus, it really is a judgment free zone. The Olympia Planet Fitness is my "happy place"!

I have been lifting here for years. All the staff has been great. Until Josh started. Skinny guy with the mustache. He has been hitting on me for months now and had not taken the hint I am not interested in males. I do not care that he is, but that’s not my thing. He is now got to the point he is extremely pushy with me. I debated whether or not to even post this but the other staff I’ve talked to has just said “oh that’s just him he’s harmless”. I've been here a handful of times so far and I've never had a gym membership prior to this I've so I don't have anything to measure this I've against, but as I can tell this gym is very welcoming and inclusive, and I feel very comfortable coming here. Clean the equipment though. Before AND after. Before because I've seen people use equipment and then walk away
without cleaning it and that's gross, and after because don't be like those people. Clean up after yourself.
The black card spa is a nice place to relax, the hydro massage chairs are AWESOME.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to improve their health, fitness and well- being

Came in to get a workout after doing some traveling looking to get out of this cold rain.

Worked out at this gym for two days.
This gym had a few machines that where not functioning overall though the equipment was up to date.

Everything was going great until a guest defecate while showering instead of going to the restroom and it was quite disturbing.

I am not sure how staff was able to keep their calm and composure as it was extremely disturbing.

I will say the staff is extremely friendly and open to conversations.

OVerall nice gym, minus some machines being down and the shower situation.

I've had a fantastic experience at Planet Fitness in Olympia. Everyone is always is so awesome. The place is always kept nice and clean and I see the whole team working together to make it a great place to be. I want to give a special shout out to Bryson, the trainer. He made me feel included in one of his classes even though I hadn't initially signed up. His encouraging, warm, approachable demeanor made working out in a class feel less intimidating and stress free. It was a great way to connect with others on a path to positive healthy habits. First of all, I love planet fitness as a company. I have been to many locations in Western US. Unfortunately, my two local planet fitness locations have a policy of “no bags on the floor.” Well, I understand that anything “on the floor” can cause a Tripping hazard and I agree completely no item should be left on the floor. But, It makes no sense when I bring my bag containing a few magazines, my earbuds, my asthma inhaler and my bandanna In a bag and hang it on the arm of the treadmill. I have been coming to this location for as long as I have been a member and I was told today to put the bag in a locker or leave. I have asked why this is a problem when it is hanging on the treadmill I am walking on. It is not heavy, it is not going to damage the machine. It is not on the floor and does not pose a tripping hazard. If there is some logical reason for this policy to be implemented in such an inane manner I would very much like to hear it. The staff person who ordered me to put it in the locker did not have an answer. I have asked other Planet Fitness locations if they have a policy that they implement in this manner and none of them do. If I had any other option in my town, I would use a different location.

Every month money is taken out of my account. An amount I was unaware. Which would be fine. But then I see not only did you pull $33 dollars in this month! But then I was charged 2 more times this money. Cause you didn’t think the first amount was good enough! 🤯😤 not happy about this. Staff may be nice but if I wasn’t watching my bank statements. I’m curious how many times this has happened and I never notice. Very upset to that I’m not able to cancel online or over the phone. The nearest planet fitness is 30 mins from me. If you're looking for a welcoming gym, do not go here. I had a very hostile and disappointing experience going here. I visited this gym on Friday 10/4/24 at 5 PM. I realized that the lockers needed a separate combination lock, so I went to the front desk and asked if they had any extras I could use for the hour.
The African-American female worker said I could buy one for about $5, then a shorter white male worker wearing a black snapback and had earrings told me I could go next door to the hardware store and buy a lock. I decided not go because I already had one at home and said I'd bring my bag with me. Then the male worker very rudely jumped in and said "the rule still stands," the rule apparently being that you can't leave bags on the floor (he did not care to explain this). It felt very hostile for him to talk to me like that, and I felt very embarrassed and unwelcomed. Then he went on to say that another location nearby is open and that they were no longer closed. This made me feel very unwelcome and felt like they wanted me to leave. I left to leave my bag in the car, then went through with my workout. This was an incredibly disappointing, hostile, and unwelcoming experience at this gym and I would not recommend that anyone visit or exercise at this gym.

I have never quit a gym so fast before. I called the gym on the 17th of this month because of an email I got stating my payment did not go through. I called the gym and the woman I spoke with let me know that Paypal is an online bank and it needed to be switched. I switched it over and worked out the next day with zero issues. Tried to come in this past Saturday and the employee informed me I had a late charge and now owed them double the payment because I was supposed to come in and pay it manually. I was never told this and the employee said to call in Monday and speak to a manager that could maybe wave the fee. I was so upset that I quit the gym on the spot. Just got off the phone and they let me know it could not be waved due to the fact the bank was not changed by the 10th of the month even though payment comes out on the 17th of the month. I chose this place only due to how cheap it was and you definitely get what you pay for. Also the manager shout out since I never got to actually speak with one, how was I supposed to have updated my payment information by the 10th, when I signed up July 12th?

Solid big box gym. Everyone is pretty respectful and wipes down their machines after each use. I've not really encountered any serious "machine campers" here either. Like with any accessible gym, between 5-730pm on weekdays is absolute pandemonium, but outside of those hours, you will rarely have to wait long for anything.

It's very okay. There's sufficient floor space for multiple people to exercise in the stretching area.

The rest of this review is for me, tbh: The free weights section is a bit cramped. The seated rowing machines are cable based and do not adjust to a sufficient range to mimic water rowing, it feels unnatural. All of the cable machines feature dual pulleys, which will provide more leverage, causing a user to believe they are lifting more than is accurate- a single pulley is a better and more accurate assessment for weight lifted.

Showers are separate from the changing room. The doors to the changing rooms are great and block out creeper peepers (which is unfortunately rare for a PF) and have full length mirrors in them, along with a bench. The hot water, depending on if you're one of the first to shower, takes an average (out of 8 times) 3:46 to warm up to acceptable and longer to be hot. Max temp isn't very high. Shower curtains could be wider, they're just slightly too narrow.

I understand it's a "beginners gym." However, the lack of consistency with policy enforcement only contributes to negative gym culture.

Small gym bags and taking your shoes off on a leg machine are not allowed. However, hanging your jacket on a machine surrounded by dumbells and walking away for 30 minutes is fine.

My Planet Fitness is good sized, with different areas for a variety of workout options. It keeps it interesting! They have a wide selection of good equipment. I can plan my workouts and get everything done there. The locker room is modern, clean and comfortable. The showers are really nice! I love the Black Card membership for the extras!

The staff is exceptionally friendly even at 2am! We feel welcome every time we go there. The facility is always super clean and we love the black card spa! Planet Fitness is so worth the $25 a month we pay to enjoy the workout equipment, spa services including tanning, and locker room amenities that includes showers for disabled folks. Don’t waste your time on a $10 a month fee get the $25 black card because you can bring a friend as a guest anytime and you receive tons of third party offers like discounts for Adidas or Nike etc. We are so happy we joined!

I've been going to this PF going on 3 yrs now and I like it, but recently starting in January they can't seem to get the heat coming from the furnace under control. Apparently their furnace broke in January, but it was still blowing out some major heat, thus making it unbearable and uncondusive to workout. After a few weeks the front desk said it had been fixed. Yesterday February 20th It was 54 F outside when I went in to workout. While I was in the changing room I started itching from the intense hot air comingfrom their furnace even before I went out on the floor to workout. I was burning up so much I decided not to do any weight lifting and settled on cardio, the stairmaster. I could only muster 30 min. I went and lamented to their trainer who was kind enough to tell me that he'll notify the owner. The front desk attendants say they have no control over the furnace. I'm really disappointed and frustrated that nothing is being done to remedy the situation. Normally I would've given this PF a 5 out of 5, but I'm afraid it's unequivocally a 1.

Dont understand why my guest needs to show ID since it should only matter that I am sticking to their "plus guest" rule. Not plus guests who show ID and verify their identity. It shouldn't matter. Very frustrating that rules seem to change every time we go in aswell, seems like sometimes they care, and sometimes they dont care. Same issue with the black card spa area.

Hydro massage is never available and two chairs have been broken for over a week. They need to keep the paper towels at the sani stations supplied.

Lots of equipment, large space, never crowded. Everyone wears masks. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I have the Black Card membership and even that is cheap. I love everything about this gym.

Great staff and very friendly atmosphere to get in that workout we all need. It is a little busy sometimes, but just don’t go during “rush hour” times:) Also, a glorious perk is that you can use any PF gym in United States with VIP membership with hydro-massage access.

Been a PF member at several locations close to 10 years now. Olympia has a good location and lots of equipment, but they could do a better job at machine maintenance and club cleanliness. There are more than a few treadmills with lumps in the belt, and one has been off kilter and crooked for going on 3 weeks. If you walked down any of the mill aisles you would see it. In addition I've noticed a rank odor coming from the men's locker room, but passed it off as coming from the garbage can near the entrance. However there is a fly problem in the showers, and noticed mold growing on the shower ceilings so the bugs are loving that.

I go to Planet Fitness 6 days a week. The experience is always good. The gym is well-ventilated, clean, never crowded and the staff is always available if you need them. Best gym experience for the money, no question.

The Black Membership allowed me to have fun. I began with the fun stuff like red-light therapy, hydro-massage and Gatorade. I did only those things for the first 10 days. After that I added "30 minute" circuit training workout. So far it's going great! The only thing that is left to add is a workout partner. Getting in shape can be fun! Daniel "dj" Lindberg
