The closing procedure at this location is unsafe and unprofessional.The staff turns off the main lights, and rings alarms repeatedly right at closing to force people out, even while people are still re-racking weights or walking out. I actually bumped into a machine because the lights were shutoff with no warning. This is unprofessional and needs to be addressed. It feels hostile, unsafe, and completely unnecessary. A simple reminder would go a long way.

Sadly, they are not good at routine maintenance of the facility. Something is always broken. Recently, 2/3rds of the toilets in the men's locker room have been broken for awhile. There's always at least one piece of equipment on the floor that is broken.

On the upside, there's LOTS of aerobic equipment. I never have to wait for a machine or even exercise immediately next to someone. Even during peak times.

The flipside of that is there's a lot of space wasted on unused equipment. I often have to wait to use a weight machine. Even during off peak times.

The location would be better if it rebalanced the allocation of aerobic and popular weight machines, free weights, and racks.

Stand up tanning bed has a light is out, needs to be replaced, you can’t tan with a light out. Tanning beds needs to be replaced very used cracked with lights out. Poor choice of tanning lotions and over priced. Also it would be nice if the machines were updated. Very low tech no options. Not 24 hours on weekends. No hybrid beds. Positive, clean and nice staff (welcoming) fully stocked with cleaning needs and toiletries.

Just recently made the switch to this one, and I'm going to make the commute to go else where. The staff is really rude here, I don't even bother to ask to use the other black card amenities. Parking sucks, and have had my car broken into. I also just don't feel safe working out here overall.

Weekend mornings: members standing around past 6:20am then leaving in disappointment (typical outcome). Was once here till 7:40 until it finally opened. Maybe this location is incapable of hiring competent staff that will actually show up at 6am?
Gym has broken equipment not attended to, ppl sitting on machines while reserving multiple machines at once. How about enforcing time limits on machines so members can be more efficient?

Staff does not enforce rules regarding 30 minute workout zone, with several people hogging a machine not even using it and just scrolling on their phone, but today a staff personal trainer and their client hijacked a machine that I had coming up next and they said they needed it for several sets. The machines in the 30 minute zone can be found all over the gym, the area is for those who are there to use the zone as intended. Not even the staff here use it properly, and they didn't even spray the equipment down when they were done.

This location was clean and all the Planet fitness machines. By they are a particularly small location, I'd urge you to embrace their 24/7 schedule and go during more quiet times. Their vending machine was very confusing looking and not user friendly. You need some sort of weird special card. This Planet fitness is okay but compared to how nice the Issaquah and Renton locations it's only redeeming quality is that it's open a couple hours later than them. A good amount of the machines are damaged, the staff are basically just standing behind the counter on their phone not even bothering to check people in or changing the paper towels but if they do they just put them on the dispenser shelf instead of inside the dispensers, the drinking fountains have pretty much no water pressure so you pretty much can't use them. Just work out a couple hours earlier if you can and avoid this place.

There's not enough weights, to put on the bars in the free weights section, there's less than 100 lb for each bench! they're missing pins in the controlled weights in a lot of machines they're not attached so people take them!
The parking lot is always full with cops driving around there is an event across the street most of the time and the parking lot is always full.
Half the bathroom doesn't work two of the showers I've been permanently removed because of the transients taking showers I guess they minimize your shower that way it prevents too many homeless people from showering there!
This is hardly a professional fitness center.
Not just with your equipment but how they conduct their business!

I was charged in properly after I terminate my gym membership I was continued to be billed for their services! Mike at planet fitness says this is in my contract that they have a right to charge me, and won't return my money or investigate!

The go-to club for communicable disease. Recommend fishing waders to access toilets and urinals across the urine soaked floors. Plenty of free Q-tips on the floor, another benefit of the upgraded black membership, tip: consider rinsing between users. more than satisfactory collection of clothes and shredded papers on the floor if one needs to nest. This despite 4 separate requests to maybe run a mop and broom over the place, although I dare say the 4 front desk employees appeared to be fully proficient iPhone social media surfers. I recently quit my gym on Capitol Hill due to a price increase, which didn't make sense given the condition of the gym. I used to go to Planet Fitness and thought that the other location might be better for achieving my fitness goals. I realized that I enjoyed Planet Fitness and that it offered me just as many great workout options, as well as amenities like tanning, Hydro beds, and massage chairs. I would recommend this location, even though at times it is a little dirty. It does seem like they have made some improvements to make it look nicer and keep it more well-maintained with better equipment.

This place is a dump but you get what you pay for. The showers are always broken (as in there is no shower head) or lacks hot water. Broken equipment takes forever to fix. But if you’re just looking for a cheap place to lift in the morning (afternoons are super crowded) with no frills, it’s fine.

I have been to multiple Planet locations in the Seattle area - including Lake Forest Park, Shoreline, Rainier Beach, Kent (W. Valley Hwy), and Renton - and this is the only location at which I have found the following issues, no matter what time of day: 1) the restrooms at Rainier Beach are consistently filthy, with urine scattered across the floors, dispensers broken for extended periods, and just an overall unkempt environment. 2) I don't know why this is routinely only the case at this location, but the customer base at Rainier Beach is extremely frustrating to have to work around. It is only here, in just my experience, where folks hog machines while spending 5 or more minutes on their phones during their rest periods between sets (I've watched closely and timed people many times). It is no hyperbole to say I have often finished 3 or more separate exercises in less time than it takes for one person to get done entertaining themselves on their phone before finally moving onto their next set of leg curls/extensions, or any of numerous other machines. Or, people would plant themselves at a squat rack for ridiculous sums of time and perform so many exercises in a row on that already-scarce resource that they wind up consuming the racks for upwards of 40 minutes at a time (again, I've kept watch and timed this). Many others simply do not respect the space and leave their garbage at the machine or area where they were last exercising. I understand being patient with a communal space, and I get that things won't be perfect. But again, it's only here at Rainier Beach that these blatant misuses of the gym are so often committed, and where the basic good conduct you'll find elsewhere is just missing. You wouldn't think adult gym-goers should need to be prodded by staff just to respect the community and acknowledge that they're in a shared space. But perhaps some intervention (a lot of it) by the employees here is needed. And it is this apparently lack of culture-setting that I truly have a problem with. 3) On a related note, I think something needs to be tweaked in this gym app's crowd meter, because every time I went to Rainier Beach expecting a level of congestion consistent with a mere "3" or "4" seen on that meter at the time of check-in, the reality is the gym is visibly close to capacity with maybe just one or two machines (ones I wouldn't use anyway) free on the workout floor. I don't know what's at the root of this on Planet's tech implementation end, but other Planet locations are never as packed when showing the same crowd meter ratings. Not ever. It's as though something is simply off with how Rainier Beach is tabulating or reporting its check-in rate, because that meter hasn't been reliable or a true reflection of what you as a customer will have to contend with in your workout. Now, it's not all bad - the layout of this gym is one that I enjoyed because it felt like there was more space in the free weight area than in other Planet sites. But that's about all I can say was favorable for me here. Overall, there's a good deal that Rainier Beach staff needs to try harder a lot harder with as far as delivering a positive customer experience. Definitely sticking with other locations.

I wasn’t going to post this but I think it is necessary to protect other women who might think to come here at night or any hr. I had the worst experience at this location. A man by the name Xavier (he is a black man with glasses and a grey patch on his head) came into the women’s locker room multiple times. Quickly saying “man in women locker room” as he is walking in not waiting for us to get decent or anything. He frightened us ladies so much Looking at us going in the shower area and making excuses to as to why. I asked the young lady what was his name and let her know my concerns. Instead of apologizing for making the members feel uncomfortable and maybe assuring he will address himself better he approaches me and starts confrontation which further seals his guilt. Need new staff ASAP. Nobody does their job just sitting around in their phone. If there is ever a next time I will be pursuing the most just action!

Overall it's alright. This is the closest gym to my work, so I go here often. The equipment is decent, members seem overall friendly even at peak times - nice black card spa area, even though you have to check in with staff (not a computer check in like most PF's I've been to) but the overall vibe of the gym is not clean. Dusty equipment, floor is coming up in areas, men's restroom is dirty with paper towels, gum spit in sinks, litter. It would be worth having more-frequent bathroom checks, front desk staff are pretty unresponsive / un-interested in hello's or day-to-day pleasantries.
Parking lot is sketchy, keep your car EMPTY to prevent prowlers.

Great place to workout. Planet Fitness has been a staple in my life and I truly appreciate all the services. Being able to walk in, scan my code, and start exercising is amazing. The perk packages included with the Black Card membership are awesome too. I would recommend Planet Fitness to almost anyone who is just starting!

There are a couple tiny details to improve apon. I am certain next time I visit, I'll be promoting this location to 5 stars!

It's an okay PF. It's the one closest to me which is the only reason why I go here. The place seems to be unorganized and untidy in general all the time. Flooring needs to get fixed because there are areas where the lining is just buckling up. I don't think anyone really cleans up the equipment because there would be an energy drink can sitting for days in the treadmill holders. As I was working out, I could not help notice that the front desk receptionist had the music playing way too loud. I tried to continue to finish my lower body workout on one of the leg machines at the circuit station when I just could not catch my rhythm, due to the extremely loud music that was playing. The music playing was a combination of techno style beats that did not go together, which ultimately threw my workout rhythm off. After about 5 minutes of the extremely loud overhead music and not being able to catch my workout rhythm, I made it a point to call the front desk to ask them if they would turn down the overhead music. When I called the front desk however, the receptionist Jiremiah answered the phone and I asked "hey the music is way too loud, can you put it down some", Jiremiah responded "Hello, I can't hear you", I repeated even louder "can you put the music down a bit its way too loud", Jiremiah replied "I can't hear you buddy", I replied even louder "that's the problem, I'm yelling at you over the phone and you still cant hear me", instead of putting the music down even temporarily to hear what I was saying, Jiremiah continues to say "I can't hear you man". That's when I hung up the phone, walked over to the receptionist Jiremiah to inform him that his music is way too loud, not only is it hurting my ears/head, but the awkward combination of fast pace techno styled beats were throwing off my workout rhythm. Mr. Jiremiah stood there confused for a second as if he did not understand my request then replied "Ok, i'll put it down". I told Jiremiah "I appreciate it" and walked back over to my station to continue my workout. Unfortunately, about 3 minutes later, Jiremiah put the music volume up even louder this time. Not looking to make a big deal about the situation, I cut my workout short and left the gym. I told myself next time I will bring a pair of earbuds/head phones so that I would be able to properly focus on my training. That week of 11/06/2023-11/11/2023 was supposed to be my first full week where I start my 6 day/week training but immediately lost motivation and did not want to enter that gym until I bought a pair of earbuds/headphones. Unable to get a hold of earbuds right away, my fitness journey was postponed until the following week of 11/13/23- 11/18/23.

Xavier signed me up, a couple months ago. Shot out to him, he was very helpful and gave me a tour with zero pressure. Always friendly and helpful when i have seen him since.

I sadly did have my car broken into/window smashed there while working out. While that was an unfortunate experience. Shout out to Amin!
Amin was extremely helpful and went above and beyond helping to bag and tape the window for me. My boyfriend works nights, and It was after 9pm and raining of course so i wouldn’t have found any other help otherwise. I truly appreciate his kindness and assistance.

I wished they’d open on time, Saturday and Sundays. It’s advertised to open at 6am. Twice already it’s not. It’s 7:05am and no signs of opening. Had to leave.

I recommend going to the Aurora location if you can make the drive up. The Rainer beach location is never clean (toilet paper all over the floor, garbage, no paper towels to wipe down equipment, and dust everywhere). The floor is also pealing up all over which makes it hard to move benches. The front desk person was sitting criss-cross on the counter on her phone the entire time I was there. Very odd...

Treadmills needs to change asap, other planet fitness locations equipped with much better ones.

There is an older asian man filming young women on the phone and he comes here often. My second time seeing him, i get off the machine and has his phone camera pointed directly towards me smiling. Disgusting.

Overall good gym! Machines are routinely cleaned throughout the day. Only issue I have is on several occasions during my workout an older Asian man who pretends to talk on the phone and films young women while working out on the treadmill or stair climber. He is there everyday. Me and my friend have went on several different occasions and he is always there filming. I’d stay cautious considering nothing has been done about him. (He goes during peak hours and sits down at the table filming)

It's very clean. There's always available equipment. The free classes are great if you're new to the gym or need help getting over a plateau. The black card spa has hydromassage chairs that are absolutely worth using after every workout. It's like light chiro and massage at the same time... And the cost is unbeatable. I'm glad I chose this as my gym.

Unlike LA Fitness, here you can always find disinfectant bottles, and members are great about wiping down equipment after they use it. The staff is constantly busy keeping the place clean and organized, which is awesome. Also, the app they have is really cool it keeps you motivated and engaged throughout your workout.

The location in Olympia on Cooper Point is very nice. Even when it's busy, and it often is, there is plenty of room, the machines are good condition and you can use the equipment you need. The staff is attentive and friendly . Over all, it may be the nicest location I ever used. And I've used a few. There are a lot of pictures posted for this location. i in other reviews.

I originally signed up for Planet Fitness in Seattle, Washington, due to staying at an Airbnb for work versus using a hotel like I would normally do. Now I am able to use Planet Fitness facilities all over the United States when I travel by purchasing their black card membership. Thank you.

I was able to transfer my membership back to Decatur, Georgia from the Rainier location in Seattle.
