I understand membership is roughly $10/month with some yearly fees, but the staff can do way more by just going around the gym and checking the bins and spray bottles. They are often overflowing, without paper towels (or placed just on top of the dispenser), and the spray bottles are hap havaradly screwed on which leads to some near spills (I always end up screwing them back on).

This picture is when I entered the gym at almost 7pm, and it stayed the same way until I left at 8:20/8:30pm. A little more care from the staff would be greatly appreciated.

This suburban Planet Fitness offers a solid overall experience. The gym is well-equipped with a good selection of machines for strength, cardio, and functional training. A highlight is the expanded schedule, with 24-hour access available on key weekdays, complemented by large locker rooms and plenty of parking.

Cleanliness was average upon my arrival around 4 AM. Some trash cans were overflowing, and the bathrooms required servicing. This is likely due to the early hour, but I hope to see more consistent, round-the-clock cleaning staff presence, as is common at other branches. Note: You will need your own lock for the storage lockers. Be mindful of your surroundings, as the immediate area can occasionally feel sketchy.

The standard Black Card benefits are available, including access to the massage chairs, HydroMassage beds, tanning, and red light therapy areas.

My wish list for future upgrades includes adopting the hybrid tanning/red light units often seen in California locations, as well as introducing the new cold therapy chairs. Functional equipment like sleds and dedicated freestanding squat rack stations (not just Smith's) would also be a great future addition.

Feedback for the corporate social media response team: While helpful, the default response to contact the local management team on many reviews is wearing thin. I strongly suggest either encouraging the franchisee to engage directly with their reviews or offering a concrete promise to provide the feedback to them.

Had a horrible experience here with membership and management regarding excessive late fees exceeding in 3 times a normal monthly charge for the black card membership I never used. After getting a hard nose to being told of a discrepancy with my pmt set up. Their only option to notify me was only through the app they noted. * if I never went there even once!
They never attempted to notify me by email nor phone due to it’s not policy to notify customers of pmt issues other than the app. If I hadn’t noticed my bank account and the overcharges I would have never caught the discrepancies of triple monthly charges! The management gets a serious thumbs down at working out the issue noting it was my fault. But that didn’t stop them from triple charging my act monthly. They had an obligation to notify me of issues to my pmt set up, other than an app that was never used during a visit. They had no problem charging me with no customer service out come. Where’s the customer service training? I will now have to dispute the fraud overcharges through my bank and better business bureau for shady business practices of late fee abuse. I immediately canceled this membership. Think twice before you get a membership here. Never again. Extremely disgusted with their tactics.

Update on 9/29/25:
The sign on the window states "OPEN 24 FIVE". It hasn't been 24 five in years. It's 24 three. On days when they're not open 24 hours, they often open late, especially on Mondays. Like today, they're supposed to open at 5am but didn't open until 5:35am - people need to get to work. I saw about a dozen people get fed up and leave. This isn't the first time they opened so late. They take membership fees without providing the promised service.

Fixing "out of order" things takes a long time. Not just exercise equipment but even the faucets in the locker room. Currently, two out of four faucets in the women's locker room are broken and have been for weeks. The last time a faucet broke it took over half a year to fix. Due to the limited dressing counter space, people use the counter space by the sinks too. It gets highly congested with only two working faucets.

While they're trying harder to improve the facility (new equipment, more cleaning, etc.), they still struggle to get their act together.

The following is a previous update.
The staff are still friendly. There have been some turnover, but the new staff is nice too. So I was torn about leaving this new review, but I had to. The women’s locker needs to be better cleaned. For example, after weeks of seeing a dirty toilet, I finally mentioned it to a staff and was informed that they are aware and had put in a note. Well, after another week or so, the brown spots finally started to fade away. It seemed to me that the repeated flushing finally removed it rather than a scrubbing from a toilet bowl brush. In another example, I saw a used band aid on a shower stall floor. It was a Thursday morning. Finally, when it was still there the following Tuesday, I told a staff. Well, it was still there the next day. Presumably, it’s gone now. I don’t know because I stopped going. I now go to another gym with slightly less friendly staff but a much cleaner women’s locker room.

It's an okay gym. Used to like it more, right after i joined. The equipment is good, and the place is spacious. The automatic massage tables are great. But the 32 tvs mounted above are a big intrusion. I guess if you want to be plugged in to CNN and Fox news and all the trash shows they like to broadcast, you'll love it. But if you like to workout to disconnect from all that stuff, you won't be able to here. Also, the trash pop music they blast constantly is also pretty lame. I guess if you like Justin Bieber you'll be fine. Every song they play sounds like him, or a remix of him. Anyway, I'm shopping around for a new gym. Pretty tired of this one. Love this gym! I never find it uncomfortably busy, and parking is generally easy.
Recently they got new machines, which is great, though I’m not sure why things have been rearranged the way they have. Leg machines, arm machines, back machines all scattered in random corners of the gym, making it very confusing to find anything. It's got fine gym equiptment but the customer service is horrible (both PF as a whole and this location). Was told I had to cancel in person (fine) but when I show up at very normal gym hours to the location, a sign at the desk said "be back in 10 or 30min." There were no other staff in the building at 5pm (questionable security since the door was just wide open?).

I'm sorry...if you require people to come in person to cancel, you have to staff your gyms so that you can allow people to do this. 5-10min is one thing but "potentially 30min" is another if someone drove all the way to cancel. That's a huge customer service issue.

The price is great, and it has the general equipment we all want, but it's become incredibly unsanitary (disconcerting given the new, ramping up C19 strain), especially the drinking fountain, bathrooms, and floors. Called manager, Deondre, to find out why there are no classes offered. Got excuses from whomever was answering phones but no details when ANY classes would be offered again. Asked that the manager call me to discuss. 9 days and 7 calls and messages later and still no return call.
So, not only are the services that I pay for not being offered, but the manager and no one at this club care enough to return members phone calls or messages. This is entirely indicative of the kind of service you can expect from this Planet Fitness.

I like the location for the most part except the bathrooms. The toilets are filthy and has never been cleaned since i’ve been a member. How do i know? The filthy visible ring inside the toilets that are always there. And i go in every day to the gym so i know. Over the year and a half I've gone to the P.F. on Aurora, I've had an overall great experience there. The staff is presently very friendly and helpful and the place and equipment is kept very clean
I've had some issues here and there. All were responded to very well, even if not completely resolved
I'd like to see some things done differently, but they are probably more on the purview of the corporate offices. Maybe not. But I often have to wait at the counter or in line because there is either not enough staff or the members and hopeful members have time-consuming things to do.
1. Enroll members away from the desk.
2. Register guests more quickly.
3. If a card is on file there should be no reason we can't purchase more efficiently. For example, purchase software that allows us to have funds available so that we can scan our card and scan the item. The credit card machines involve way too many steps. Plus, I've chosen to buy post workout drinks when I arrive to avoid the wait.
4. Floor monitoring/walkthroughs. Perhaps you see someone using equipment unsafely. Tell them. Or, better yet, perhaps you see someone with four sets of dumbbells at his bench instead of one. You could advise them to use one at a time if possible so that others don't have to wait! Or, tell someone to stop dropping the weights. Or advise groups of three or more to take their workouts elsewhere where they have more equipment so they aren't hogging them.
5. Buy more free weights.
6. Buy more of those hard rubber weights used to add 5 or 10 pounds.

This place needs to work on the cell phone etiquette. At given time 30 % of the equipment is occupied by zombies staring at their phones. When you ask them if you can work in they say come back in 10 minutes. I'm here to get a work out not spend hours. Please post some signs to address this issue! Also the toilets need attention, the stalls don't properly lock and toilets need to be scrubbed. While appreciate you often "get what you pay for" and this gym membership is no different. These are some basic expectations.

I was shopping around for gyms near me that I could shower at while having some repairs done to my bathroom. I used the day pass offered online to test it out. Giving 2 stars instead of one because the staff was fine (I didn’t experience rude staff like others have complained of in one star reviews) and the gym itself wasn’t too bad. That said, the women’s locker room is shockingly disgusting. It’s hard to imagine thinking this level of dirty is something you can charge people for. The toilets have the rim of grime at water level that only happens after months without cleaning. Every shower stall had grime smeared all over the walls and shower curtains, mildew in the tiles, and drains clogged with hair. I can forgive some debris on the floors and a few toilets being the kind of gross that happens from a few messy members, as that is understandable between regular cleanings. This kind of filth is the kind that only happens from months of not cleaning. I would never pay for a membership here even if the price is right. I can’t imagine it being worth it unless you know you will never have to pee or shower there.

I was made to feel like this is not a very friendly place unless you're part of the lgbtq+ community. I was asked by a few people if i was queer and I stared at the whole time I worked out. When I was in the shower, a worker entered my shower to complain about music from my speaker. This felt like an invasion of privacy. He actually pulled my shower curtain back to speak with Me. Generally clean and not too crowded. However, 30-minute workout is misleading. Staff consistently fail to enforce the rule that the space is reserved for 30-minute workout only. It becomes a hassle to try to do the workout when some people use the space for other purposes. I can understand that there are gym users who need to use the space in a way that is different from its intended purpose, but it seems like that should be the exception rather than the rule. I think that there are people who take advantage of the fact that the rules are not enforced.

Note that they expect ladies to dry their hair with hand dryers like the homeless do at gas station restrooms in movies. Does it really cost that much to provide hair dryers the way most locations do? Seems like a short-sighted business decision of the franchise owner.

I went in person few weeks agoafter charges continued on my card- was told by the girl at the front desk that I've been charged $26 bc it was $10 plus penalty $15 bc they could not charge my bank account ( BECAUSE I HAD CANCELED MY MEMBERSHIP!!!!), so they continued to charge my card. She said she canceled my membership, asked me to sign, I did. What did I get today ? An email saying that they couldn't charge my primary payment. My bank account. It is a nightmare. I asked to talk with the manager, he was not on site. I asked for an email address and was told he doesn't have one yet bc he just became manager. Learn from my experience. STAY AWAY FROM PLANET FITNESS. Don't know if it is just this location or it is a general way they do things. But unfortunately after the experience I've had at this location I wouldn't sign up ever again with them. I've been charged about $120 after I canceled. And I still have to go again tomorrow in person to talk with them to cancel. 5 months now after I canceled. Or so I thought.

I switched to a classic membership few months back but continued to be charged for a Black Card membership
Be careful what you sign up for and more importantly - what you are charged for.

PROS: I LOVE the water table massage, and the chair massagers! I tried red light therapy for the first time, and am still undecided on what I think of it. The machines are great for working out, and I like that I can plug my headphones in to hear what's on the TV's.

CONS: There isn't a lot of room in the stretching area, so it gets crowded. They don't have personal trainers to help guide you, and the staff don't always know answers to questions about physical fitness. There are no group classes, and the open hours are shorter than I'd like.

The planet fitness at Aurora is consistently filthy. Used sanitary pads , clumps of hair , nasty floors daily. The locker rooms never get cleaned . Rude staff that is always in a terrible mood. Today Jason had me wait while he was on the phone well over 15 minutes assisting a customer. No problem with that. HOWEVER his attitude after ending the call was extremely disrespectful, he did not apologise for the long wait, and as I am stalking to him he did not look my way at all, he just continued to type away at his computer. I asked him kindly if he could please look at me while addressing me as I find it extremely rude that he is working on the computer and not acknowledging me. I asked if he needs a few more minutes to wrap up, let me know. To which inherently rudely responds that he feels uncomfortable making eye contact with me and that it’s my own problem if I don’t like how he’s addressing me. To which I said , I’ll be back when someone else is willing to assist me. And asked for his name to which he showed me his name tag while making eye contact.

Jason is unprofessional, has zero professionalism, and is disrespectful. With and attitude like that he really has no business working front desk.

The employees are lovely.
I use this location primarily for it's tanning beds and red light therapy.
I am disabled with EDS and suffer from psoriasis flair ups quite often. So the Planet Fitness Red Light Therapy is a god sent to have access to when my psoriasis has flair ups. With these flair ups, one of the only things that makes life Bearable, is "Red Light Therapy " treatment. It is one of the few treatments available for patient relief to the psoriasis symptoms.

This being the case, my review will mostly focus on the facilities ability to provide these services.

First issue,
FACULTY ACCESSIBILITY:
being disabled, I have noticed the facilities lack of wheelchair accessible entrances.
I have to be in a wheelchair or in crutches on and off in the year and I fear the accessibility level provided here is incredibly inadequate and lacking.
Even being one of their "Black Card" members, I struggle to yank open the doors to the members lounge to even get to the light beds. Let alone get threw the front door with the same problem.

Which leads me to another issue;
ACCESSIBILITY TO RED LIGHT:
The red light is ONLY offered in stand up beds..... so while in my wheelchair or in crutches, I'm unable to use the red light.
I am aware that other locations provide more accessible options.
(example the Lake Stevens Washington location has a chair and bed available)

Now, the final issue;
SANITATION/ LIGHT BED UPKEEP;
neither the beds nor the stand up machines appear like their being cleaned between customers.
I consistently find hair or other body Rememances on the machines while I approach use.
I obviously sanitize before and after my uses. But that shouldn't be a requirement considering that this is supposed to be a "luxury" provided option.

In closing,
I understand the affordability is amazing and provides access to these kinds of treatments and facilities. That being said, I don't believe "affordability " should be used as an excuse to expense "accessibility ". We, the disabled, deserve dignity in being acknowledged threw action. Not used as just an advertisement tool, like in most cases. I believe that it is possible for Planet Fitness to live threw their values more truly by providing these utilities in a more accessible way. As shown in other locations. I'm not sure why the Aurora location, is so exclusionary. 🤔

I had to go in person to request a refund, as that was the only way to do so. I had to drive all the way to North Seattle to make the request. When I got there, all they did was mess around with the computer, saying that the refund was in order. I suggested and recommended getting a receipt or some kind of proof that the refund was being processed, but I have received no response or refund so far. It's been frustrating trying to receive any kind of update on my refund and cancellation. I accidentally prematurely signed up for the summer kids program too early and they charged my card on file when kids are supposed to workout for FREE during the summer months. They didn't honor their own advertised promotion.

I love that this location is large and spacious, but inside the women's locker room is FILTHY! I typically go to another location, and asked one lady of the locker room is normally dirty like this and she stated yes. I'm not sure why it doesn't get clean, but you can see the filth as soon as you walk in there.

I moved out of state so I called to cancel my account in September and an employee said the only thing he could do without me there was freeze my account (without telling me I needed to sign anything). He didn’t tell me it would unfreeze after 3 months and without my knowledge or consent they charged me for 2 months. Because the employee didn’t have me sign paperwork, the team said there is no documentation and refuses to refund me.

I was having issues with the La fitness across the street so I came here hoping for a better option, only for it to be so much worse than I could’ve ever imagined. They don’t have even half the strength equipment of a regular gym, and it’s just as crowded as la fitness. Do not waste your money, this is a gym for people who don’t enjoy seeing others working out around them, and only prefer to be doing cardio. Seriously, I can’t even bring in my water bottle because it’s “too intimidating”. No clue what I was thinking, I’ll happily pay 5 times the price across the street.

I like this place. It's not busy in the mornings. There's a lot of equipment. The front desk people in the mornings are super kind.
It would be cool if you could put more cleaning stations around, other than that, this place is appreciated because it's affordable

Experienced a massage chair broken with no warning on the chair, it hurt my back, and still wasn't fixed or given a warning a week later.

This is the absolute worst planet fitness location with the worst management and customer service I've ever seen, I've been to over 50 different planet fitness locations and couldn't believe how terrible the service is and how I was treated during my time here. The employees don't even greet you and the manager is extremely rude, he should be fired. I will contact corporate about the matter as soon as I'm able to. Very little fitness energy here.

I hate to write a negative review. This is a great location. Sadly I lost my job due to the working in social services and the economy. I was promised that I would NOT be charged the yearly fee and magically it showed up on my account. Now I am in debit and can not pay a couple bills due to it and I am told it is my issue since I did not cancel correctly. They have no idea when the GM will be in to talk about it.

Extremely clean, bathrooms cleaner than a hotel, doesnt really have naked ppl in the locker rooms. Only dislike is the absence of free bars for use when doing deadlifts/no squat rack. Otherwise they have a good staff and a large selection of fitness and cardio machines.
