I’ve been to different PF’s and this would be my least favorite; I use to go here all the time for my weight loss journey, but I moved towns so I started to go to a different PF. Came back to town and decided to come and try out my home place again; it really smells like rat pee pee and poo poo lol. Other than that, it’s still decent.

So far the least nice PF I’ve been to in the Tacoma area. Lockers damaged or doors missing. Rampant homeless problem of them hanging around immediately in front of the building. Almost no cell service here and their WiFi doesn’t work.

What can I say about a planet fitness; it is what it is. Nothing great and bother bad just meh. What I don’t like about this location is the loud people. If you don’t have head phones that have trainers with people who they don’t keep in line. I had finish my workout listening to these to lady’s cussing and using foul language. I was annoying all the while the trainer didn’t tell them the knock off the language and loud mouthing.

Dawson, Riley, and JJ are awesome! Always friendly and very encouraging. When I asked them for advice they had great strategies that pushed me past my plateau and got me closer to my goals! The short GM not as friendly, in the middle of me talking to one of the above named gentlemen about my progress and how their advice really helped me he interrupted me and said “I’m their boss, leave a review” and pushed the QR code at me. I said I would do that because I really appreciated their help and support but he continued to cut me off.

I’ll keep coming back because I really enjoy the atmosphere of this place, and most employees are AMAZING but the manager definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

I have left a review before but i just want to say again that We love this gym and location.The atmosphere is amazing. I have never felt comfortable enough to go to the gym until this one. My 16 year old started with the summer teen program and she loved it so much I just got her a membership and decided to get one for myself. I have been coming for about 5 months now and at 40 years old I feel like I am getting my strength and stamina back. This place is chill and no judgement at all, everyone is just doing their own thing but if you need a trainer they have those too. I recommend Ryan, he is very knowledgeable.

I love pf the only thing for the fern hill location is they need to upgrade equipment and tanning beds it’s pretty old i would prefer river road puyallup location but fern hill is just closer for me! All in all i think it’s definitely worth the membership our family definitely get our moneys worth

ALL STAFF! I can’t remember everyone’s name, but they always seem to know who I am & call me by my name. I do know Ryan, he has been such an inspiration & we haven’t even started working together. Our personalities & fitness goal mesh very well. I’m recovering for a terrible illness, we talk often, he knows my story and has been very patient with me as I workout, do pt & ot. Once I get the green light from pt/ot, he’ll be there ready to lead me back to a fit ME! Thanks to everyone! I was very nervous to come back to gym after being gone so long. No gym shame. The staff is friendly and engaging and for the most part the facility is clean! I LOVE the new equipment and the addtion of more free weights in other areas of the gym. Especially AWAY from the mirror wall..lol. I will say that it would be nice to have a larger variety of kettle bells and stability balls. I workout 5-6 days per week and I do so at PF because the enviroment is comfortable and encouraging.

I absolutely love Planet Fitness! I went faithfully in NC but when I relocated in 2014, they didn't have any gyms in the area for me to transfer my membership. I'm ready to get back in the gym now so I'll be joining soon!

PLEASE TREAT YOUR STAFF BETTER! Over the past couple of years you have had some great staff leave because of poor treatment. I really like working out at PF, and it is right up the street from me. You can see that my reviews of this location date back to 2019. I'm giving 4 stars ONLY because of your staff at this location. I would give 1 star for management!

2023 REVISION:
I'm changing my rating from 5 stars back to 3. This location (and surrounding locations) are no longer 24hrs! So I will either drop this gym completely, or cut back to a single gym only membership. I really like planet fitness overall. I will change my rating once the location is 24 hours again...

"I did not have the greatest experience when I visited this location. The staff was not too friendly (to my surprise). The location is excellent, and I am still considering a membership."

I decided to give planet fitness another try. Since then I have found that this facility is very clean, and the staff is friendly. I am always greeted with smiles and the equipment is easy to use and the massage tables are amazing. for under $30/mo this facility is an excellent deal for the massage tables alone! Needless to say the rest of the facility is well maintained.

Not providing the hours they promise, this location shut down black card amenities about 30 mins early. They already switched from 24 hrs to closing at 9 so basically closing down at 8:30. Awful gym since managers switched. The previous two managers, Vincent and Christian were amazing. They were friendly, kind and helpful. This new manager (old short man) guards the scanner like this gym requires secret clearance to get in It’s absolutely ridiculous. He has the scanners faced towards the staff and isn’t paying attention half of the time to scan members in right away. The bathrooms never have soap or paper towels. Machines are always broken.

I wouldn't. I didn't know any better so I signed up and paid a yearly membership fee and thought the monthly rate was killer. There's a reason. Go read the Reddit threads about PF in general... Seriously. I wouldn't have joined had I known. There is literally at least one guy, sitting on the same piece of equipment, not doing a single rep or stretch or lift or anything for 20, 30 minutes or more and never moving, but happens to be "scrolling Tik Tok" hunched over at a weird angle and gets a gross smirk every time a woman starts stretching or walks by him -- EVERY time you go. It's blatantly obvious and the staff seems not to care. It's not possible they don't notice. I've taken to informing the women that are being harassed directly which is embarrassing for me and for them but it's not okay to just ignore this behavior. There's a phone policy that I'm sure is meant to combat this but it's never enforced. My advice is to spend the little bit extra and go to Anytime or LA or a local gym. Doing you a favor, ladies.

Yeah, it's inexpensive. But you're forced to watch horrible TV shows while walking on the treadmill. Like crime and murder shows with horrific/graphic images. I kept my earbuds in, but I had to bring a magazine to read so I didn't have to watch the crud on the TVs.

Its 90 degrees in the gym and the front desk staff has the heat cranked up. Asked several times for them to turn it down or off but the never do. I shouldnt be sweating before more work out even starts. If your cold maybe you should put down your phone at the front desk and get moving doing some work. We always know its going to be a hot one when the super skinny girl is working the counter.
