Shower Review: this planet fitness has one of the better shower setups. The changing room is attached to the shower with independent changing rooms also available. I am not the biggest fan of just having curtains on both the changing and shower areas but I can change and get in the shower without doing the cross hallway shuffle. I can also leave my clothes on the bench just outside the shower in the changing area without worrying I am being rude for taking up a changing room. There are a few things keeping this from 5 stars, other than the use of curtains instead of a locking door. There is no shelf in the shower, necessitating either bringing a caddy to hang on the hook or putting your soaps on the floor (kinda gross tbh). The other negative is the hot water takes a loooooong time to come through. Honestly, start the water before you start getting undressed, it might be hot by the time you’re ready to get in. That said compared to other planet fitness showers I would give this one 4.5 stars, a less stressful setup with a few flaws.

However, both TVs that used to show CNN have been off for weeks now. All the other TVs including Fox news are still running. I asked about it at the front desk and just got an "I don't know".

The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, always making gym-goers feel welcome. The gym itself is spacious and well-equipped with a variety of machines and equipment. It’s clean and doesn’t have that unpleasant sweaty gym smell. The members are responsible for wiping down the machines after use. The women’s locker room is clean and spacious, providing a comfortable place to change. I particularly enjoy watching the droneTV while exercising, which activates my inner adrenaline junkie! 😄

I also appreciate the hydro massage lounger and massage chairs, which I rarely have to wait long to use.

Cars and locker contents are stolen very often. My locker was broken to and my car got stolen from this location. At least once a week I witness someone who has had the same thing happen. That is only while I am there, so I imagine it happens quite often. The staff seems unconcerned as they could easily pull camera footage and everyone who comes in has their ID scanned. The facility is nice, but very unsafe. Their billing practices leave a lot to be desired as well. I won’t get in to that. All I can say is you get what you pay for.

This was my gym for about four years before moving to Seattle. The facility was always immaculate with enough space to never feel too crowded. I travel full time and have been to countless PF locations (literally 47 states) and this location is my favorite. The staff is so friendly and helpful - but the real treat is how CLEAN everything is CONSISTENTLY!! Like they aaactually clean the showers and bathrooms every, single, day and it SHOWS! This planet fitness has such a good sense of humor. I like the staff and it’s well laid out - lots of space to work out on the floor. I ascribe this to the weekday cleaning lady I see who attends so carefully and assiduously to her job. I also like the older female bespectacled front desk attendant. She offers one of the warmest greetings I’ve seen at a PF. NYC PF could learn from this one.

Ive been to manyyy gyms and this is the cleanest and most efficient. There's rarely, if ever, broken equipment. The only thing I'd say is some of the tanning booths have bulbs out, but I have zero complaints.

This gym is amazing. Good service with friendly staff and super clean and comfortable gym. The only one thing that is alarming about this chemical smell of detergents. We are working hard in this gym, and those chemicals in air dangerously affect our system even if it is not visible right away. Most of detergents are considered carcinogens. Please fix this issue and safe your costumers .

So far so good. The hydro massage lounges and beds are a great benefit. My back appreciates them. The atmosphere is pretty up beat. The equipment is all well kept. They keep it really clean. The staff at West End Tacoma live up to the " no judgement" philosophy. The staff is always pleasant & seem to go out of their way to extend themselves helping. Caz is very personable & knew my name long before I learned hers. Her teammates followed suit & always acknowledge me & check me in quickly. And the staff truly does act as a team. Vinny, operates as the manager, leads by example , and he acts more as coordinator-leader rather than a boss. Very approachable. The facility is always spotless & the atmosphere pleasing & consistent.

I am a Prius-Dweller, & as an unhoused person (by choice) I am often subjected to negative bias at many retailers. PF facilities are integral to maintaining a healthy lifestyle under any circumstances. It is enormously valuable to have PF as an ally and I always feel "safe" in it's welcoming

The new manager appears to be power-hungry and is attempting to change the way things have been for three years. I've always cherished walking in and finding Marty happy and full of positive energy. Lately, I've been avoiding even approaching the counter because this new guy is consistently negative. So, you send out a message instructing everyone to make me check in? This is perplexing, considering that the regulars, who all know me, typically check me in, and it's part of the culture that keeps me coming here. This new guy has never introduced himself, never asked for my name, and often hides behind the counter. I kindly request that you address this situation before I'm compelled to seek another place to go.

Just updating this review. I went out of town for a few weeks, and upon my return, it was a pleasant surprise to walk into the gym and see all the smiling faces. The problem had been removed. This gives me faith again in the management that they do care about their customers and the climate at the gym. The best thing was seeing Vincent back!! Also, the staff was back to their friendly demeanor, not the heavy, unpleasant vibe that the previous manager brought. Vincent is not only pleasant to be around and friendly, but he is also always seen on the floor, keeping a very clean gym! Glad to have the old gym vibe back.

currently sitting in the parking lot for the 2nd time this month and the gym is still locked 40 minutes after it’s supposed to be open. Disappointing to get up so early to workout and the gym is not meeting it’s hours.

We love this place. It has all the equipment we need. Never too busy. Close by. We use the basic plan which is unbelievable reasonable. Like about $11/mo. They do not have the most advanced state of the art equipment. But they do have lots of equipment which will give you a total workout. They offer trainer services for free. There are lots of clubs around to chose from. For about $30/mo you can work out at any of the clubs, bring a guess for free and use some of the really cool massage machines. We are really happy with the fitness club. We have been a member for about a year.

I was a member before the pandemic but I quit for about a year. Then because I am over 65 and a Silver Sneakers person, which makes membership free, it was a "no brainer" to come back. Starting up again has been great. The fact that you trained the staff to remember names, which includes me, has been mind blowing to me. A couple of staff (Valarie and Tomson) have been so nice to me that it feels more like a second home for me. Before the pandemic the customer service left me with the impression that none of the staff cared or even listened to my concerns about things that needed to be cleaned up. I remember chewed gum on the floor and spilled soft drinks that I pointed out and no one did anything about it. Now I see better clean-up practices going on and it is greatly appreciated. Keep it up!!
