BE CAREFUL!!! I cancel my membership a year ago. Today I received the past due notice for over for a year's billing and late fees. When I contacted their front desk, they said there was nothing they could do for me. No matter that they can see I have not attended the gym in a year. All they could say is get on the app and cancel your membership now. There's no customer service number to call. The customer rep at the facility itself basically just brushed me off didn't try to contact the manager for any help.
"So be careful they're not trustworthy"

Visited this gym a few times while in town from Dallas TX. It was 20 min drive from my Portland, OR hotel which was a little out of my preferred driving distance. The gym is big and spacious with a variety of workout equipment.

Its also very close to the parking lot which made it convenient to get in and out of with ease.It was a positive experience whenever i came to workout. I would consider this gym location in the in the future for my workout sessions whenever am in Portland

A lot of cardio options to get moving with. The machine placement is fine and there are a lot of them. Staff never really seems to acknowledge people. The locker room is hit and miss, depending on the day. Shower curtains grow mold regularly.

This new staff is such a breath of fresh air compared to the previous staff. Every single one of them is consistently friendly; they greet guests, listen to feedback when equipment needs attending to, and the facility feels cleaner. I used to rotate between the Planet Fitness locations in the area, but this is definitely my favorite now. A good crew really makes a huge difference.

When COVID hit, the 24 hour fitness I went for a long time closed. I had to shop around for a location similar to it . I decided to try out planet fitness and happy I did .

Staff is friendly and helpful, machines and gym is always clean, and I love the perks of using the aqua massage after a workout .

Since day one , I have never felt any kind of judgement. It’s a very laid back environment . Even the people who work out are friendly when interacting with them . Give them a try, you won’t regret it !!

I bought a membership so my son and I could work out together. After getting the member and going a few times, I hurt my forearm and wasn't able to work out for a very long time.

Due to this (and the fact that Planet Fitness makes it hard to cancel on purpose), I paid for my account for a whole year without using it, waiting for my forearm to heal.

I then lost my job and had to cancel. I did not ask for any money back; I solely needed to cancel my account, so I came in 2 days before the next due date. After hearing about my financial hardship and seeing I only used the gym a handful of times, Planet Fitness charged me an extra month due to fine print in the contract.

Before this, I was an avid supporter of Planet Fitness.

This is not a company that cares about you. They want your money, that is it.

Sadly, still a predatory gym. If you need the motivation to work out by spending money and trying to get the best use of it, you'll have no problem with the spending money part. Just know it will all be at the end when they charge you extra when you leave and nothing appears to be refundable. Might be better to find a gym that costs more per month and can be canceled hassle free without buy-outs, annual memberships fees, etc.

4/2/25 update- I wanted to re-post and say that the cleanliness and staff attention have gotten so much better. For the last month, someone has consistently greeted me coming in, and the machines are sparkling. Really appreciate the changes.

I’ve been a member at this location for a couple of years. You can’t beat the monthly price, but the staff recently has left something to be desired- 4 employees on their phones behind the front desk while the trash overflows and the hand sanitizer dispensers are empty.

This location is not the best. The locks here are terrible and the lockers in the changing room are non existent so you have to bring your own. There’s also no TV’s on the workout equipment, the equipment is ancient and confusing (some don’t tell you the target area or how to use it) and there’s a lot less machines here. The music is too loud and they choose close at 7 on weekends.. at least the staff are nice 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I would go out of my way to another location

They recently redid the women's showers. They got rid of the rubber mats on the floor and it is now so dangerous, it's crazy! I see lawsuits in the future.
UPDATE... THEY GOT NEW MATS! They're smaller but now closer to the shower stalls so the water no longer runs into the dressing booths. It's so nice when management listens and pays attention to customer concerns! It's so much safer now because people aren't slipping on a wet floor!!

I've been down in Vancouver for a few days and have tried to go to the gym during their normal hours twice. But I show up and they have a white board in the window saying they aren't going to open till 10am on one day and 9am the next. Frustrating when there's several of us outside waiting for the doors to open on a Saturday Morning before realizing there's the big white board again saying they aren't going to open on time, again!

I have been to PF in 3 states. I am astounded at how poor every other place is.
This PF impresses me every time. It's huge, enormous windows, clean, far more machines and equipment than any other PF I've seen so far, cleaned and stocked bathrooms, super friendly and kind and helpful staff.
I came in as a beginner 30 weeks ago and have come 3x/week without missing a day. I credit the awesome crew at making me feel so welcome I just can't quit! Thank you so much! I appreciate you all.

I've done some research I'm trying to get a gym membership on disabled limited on income and online it says that planet fitness offers waivers for the annual fee to become a member I called and they said that that was not available all I want to do is get back in shape but unfortunately I can't afford the annual fee the monthly fee I can afford. I was hoping this would be the gym that I would like to be a member of unfortunately I'm going to have to look to other options.. I was really hoping to get a waiver since I'm on social security I just want to get back in shape and feel good about myself again but that's okay there are other gyms in this town

I have been coming to this planet fitness on and off for years. Usually the customer service is good but hasn't ever been absolutely amazing. That was until I started coming to this planet fitness again. Luis’ customer service skills are next level. As a manager for a branch for one of the biggest infrastructure companies in the world thats all about customer service I know when someone doesn't just do it because they have to and they do it because they are just a good outgoing person. Luis always greets all the customers. Luis is ALWAYS upbeat and goes out of his way for the gym goers of this location. Im use to the normal welcome and goodbye’s that most planet fitness give you but not with Luis. He not only always greets me when I walk in he remembers my wife and I and always sees if we’re doing good and how our day has been. Luis even goes as far as talking to me about similar interests we have! Its great!! Im having some issues with my membership and Luis is going above and beyond to help me. Luis even recognized me over the phone! I normally don’t make a big deal about someone’s customer service skills but I felt Luis’ needed to be commended. Planet fitness you have an employee that other companies are desperately looking for!

Do not give them your bank info as they will Never stop charging your account even though you cancel multiple times and they'll even charge you for 2 accounts for 1 person and make you come in to the so-called judgment free zone to cancel in person. Then they will make you call another number. Who they say, will help you to the utmost of their ability and they can do absolutely nothing about canceling your account. And you gotta call back to the milplane property to get it canceled. And this is all while they have a policy that you can't call on the phone to cancel.You have to come in and do it in person. So I canceled my second subscription two months after I canceled my first subscription. This company is an absolute sham and I would not recommend it. They run around tactics are grounds for a class action lawsuit.I'm sure there's other people they've done this too.

Beware that they don’t seem to have any kind of anti-sickness policy. Their staff and patrons of the facility are allowed to cough continuously without masks. Also, when I first joined not even two months ago, I was told that I would have a one dollar joining fee in addition to the monthly fee. However, it actually was six dollars that they billed me and told me there was nothing they could do about that. It was just the app that billed me that, not planet fitness. Then, when I questioned why people were allowed to be in the facility coughing I was just told that they have no policy about it. Later that I decided to cancel my membership and was told I had to come down in person in order to cancel the membership or I could write them a letter. However, I was unable to get back down there in person, until a couple of days after they had billed me for the next month. I went in and canceled in person and asked if I could have my money refunded for the coming month since I had now canceled and would not be using the facility indeed had not used it except for that first time. I was told that I could get a refund but only through the manager, who is not there on the weekend. So, today I speak with David, the manager and told that no that isn’t true, because I no longer have an active membership. There’s nothing he can do. He cannot refund the money. They just billed me. I do not recommend.

Tried to go to the tanning booth after a difficult workout. The lady at the front didnt tell me which booth it was the first time and didnt give me any sense of direction, tried saying my membership didnt have access to their benefits even though I paid for their Black+ membership which was supposed to come with everything included. The second time I accidentally went to the wrong booth but they still didnt check in on me while I tried to get the machine working for 10 minutes. Then they just said they were closed and I had to come back again the next day. Their whole brand is that they dont judge people but they made me feel extremely judged and laughed it off like I was stupid. Really don't appreciate how I was treated.

As someone who comes here five days a week I obviously can tell when the messes in the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned and as someone who has worked at planet fitness before myself I know the staff is supposed to be doing hourly bathroom checks. Which maybe they are but they definitely aren’t cleaning the toilets. The same mess will sit there for days sometimes. I rarely leave negative reviews but it’s been getting bad lately.

Planet Fitness is a great gym the staff are accomodating and friendly. It is affordably priced. The app that you use to check in is easy to use, and it tells you how packed the gym is and what is the best time for you to go to have the best access to the equipment. The only thing is that I have noticed that a lot of people don't clean off the machines after they're done using them, so, if you're like me, you'll want to clean then off before and after you use that. But that is my only complaint, and Planet Fitness can't control that 100%, so I just deal with it.

Employees continually lock the doors earlier and earlier on nights that they aren’t open 24hrs.

Example: tonight (10/20) the gym closes at 10, yet the front doors were locked before 9:30pm and they already posted a sign on the door saying the “gym closes in 15 minute (10pm)”. Tried to open the door, but the front desk employee was face down on their phone and wouldn’t look up.

The gym itself is affordable, centrally located, with staff that's really nice, and new equipment that's well-maintained. I like having this gym in my neighborhood and work out here 3-5 times a week.

Am I naive to expect a power bar for deadlifts, squats, and bench press? It didn't even enter my mind they would not have this when I signed up for a "commitment" membership. It's a gym! All they have are Smith machines which isn't the same. There are core muscles that are not being worked.

So I cancelled on day one, they said that since I signed up for a "commitment" I had to pay a 58 dollar cancellation fee. So 50 dollars sign up plus 58 cancellation is 108 dollar for a half hour gym visit.

How can you call this anything other than what it is? A scam.

This used to be my home gym. I mainly use the treadmills for a bit and take a shower and that’s it. Numerous times I’ve come here to find half of the treadmills are shut down, with signs saying they’re not to be used, even though they all work fine.
