Love this studio!! I thought I’d be nervous to join a new studio and learn pole but there’s actually nothing scary about this studio. I’ve only been coming here for about three months and I already feel like a part of this super welcoming community of wombats. I feel like I could show up as an alien with absolutely no strength and I’d still be super supported here lol!

I’ve been taking classes at Positive Spin for a couple of years now. It’s a great learning space. It’s a safe and inclusive (and fun) space to learn pole. The instructors are amazing and have a lot of experience working with people with different physical requirements (like hypermobility.) Can’t recommend it enough <3

I highly recommend Positive Spin to anyone who’s even remotely interested in pole dancing, or anyone who’s new to the city!

As someone primarily in the latter category, Positive Spin fosters an amazing community for you to connect with people. And I’m very grateful to the new friends I made through Positive Spin who’ve helped me settle into Seattle ❤️

For someone in the former category, Positive Spin has amazing instructors who will meet you where you are and help you every step of the way! I wasn’t even THAT interested in pole to start, but learning pole has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever taken.

I’m so thankful Positive Spin exists, and I cannot recommend it enough ❤️

There are not enough praises I can give this studio. This has been one of best experiences and classes I have ever taken! The instructors are all so patient and encouraging. The studio is clean and well taken care of. I have become so addicted to this place and I am so greatful to have found them! It feels like a second home to me and I can't get enough of this studio and their classes.

I love this place! The instructors, staff, and students are all wonderful and extremely inclusive.

The instructors give individual attention and are proactive in seeing if you need accommodations or modifications, and do so happily. There's a great variety of classes and special events, and frequent open pole sessions.

I'm trans and feel very safe and welcome in this space, and able to express myself.

Friendly and helpful instructors and encouraging community. Helped me build a lot of strength and accommodated injury well.

Main gripe is if you subscribe their cancellation charges you an additional month of fees, even if you have further injury which prevents you from participating permanently. This was fine for me, but if your money is tight cancellation may be more expensive than you think.

I have loved this studio from day one and I have gotten to learn so much. They constantly have more specialized classes to work on specific goals or explore movement. People are positive and encouraging making the experience fun at every level. This is a creative no judgment space full of great people and skilled knowledgeable instructors. The intro classes and instructors do a phenomenal job exploring loaning and helping you through foundational moves that build the groundwork for safe and exciting progress. I highly recommend checking it out.

Came here after a very negative experience at another studio and felt so welcomed and accepted. As an out of town visitor, I felt the studio in was accommodating to the fact that I have been training in different environments, and was willing to accommodate the fact that they way I've learned pole over the last two years may suffer from their studio's system. The space is small enough to allow for individual attention with a emphasis on safety and inclusivity. Will be recommending to any of my pole friends who come to visit Seattle.

I was dragged to Positive Spin by a friend and didn't think it would be my kind of thing, but I was blown away by how supportive, upbeat, and kind the instructors were. The community of both students and instructors is so inclusive and welcoming in a way that I have never seen when starting a new hobby. If you have ever thought about trying pole dancing, I would highly recommend that you give it a shot, and start at Positive Spin!

Welcoming and inclusive, flexible scheduling options with great variety of classes. Disability and immunocompromised friendly. Instructors are top notch with all kinds of backgrounds. Positive spin is more of a community for me than a exercise place. You can choose classes towards any direction. Dancing, choreo with heels, strength and conditioning, pole as a sport, learning hand stand etc. Cannot recommend more!

Been going to classes at PositiveSpin for a couple years now and I love it. I initially chose them because their photos had such a variety of bodies/identities and they didn’t disappoint. I appreciate that kind of diversity and representation amongst dancers and trainers, it feels very inclusive and accepting. If you’re not comfortable on a pole yet, they also have floor work dance classes and flexibility classes. Please come join us sometime!

I’ve been going to this studio for about 10 months now, and cannot say enough good things about my experiences so far! The instructors are kind, patient, and enthusiastic; you can tell they are all very passionate about their craft. The studio itself is a very welcoming and inclusive space: always clean, low lights for when the mood calls for it or if someone in class has light sensitivity issues, there’s posted rules ensuring the space remains friendly for all (ex: no diet talk or speaking negatively about body size/shape), and there’s even a cute little cozy lounge for dancers to hang out while they wait for class to start. Overall, 10/10, highly recommend everyone give Positive Spin a try!

I take the handstand and mobility/flexibility/strength classes here. They are very well taught - welcoming to beginners while also challenging for regulars. It’s like physical therapy, but in a fun context and cheaper. I’ve always had tight and weak shoulders, but now the handstand class has helped me build strength and mobility at the same time and in a sustainable way. My mom no longer nags me about my posture 😂

I moved hear from another city / studio, and was desperate for an inclusive and supportive pole community to help keep me motivated. The community here is so strong and caring, I really never feel worried about not belonging in this space. Outside of the regular course schedule, there are always lots of "bonus" events going on like brunches, student showcases, workshops, etc. I have class passes for drop ins at other studios for a few teachers / classes that I really love, but I have a membership here for the community and consistency. I love Positive Spin! I joined a few months ago hoping for a fun way to exercise and gain a little confidence in moving my body--I found that and then some! Every instructor at Positive Spin works so hard to create a safe space to make mistakes and be your authentic self. They're also incredibly knowledgeable about their craft. I'm constantly impressed by Alyssa's ability to rattle off exactly which muscles we're stretching in each pose of flexibility class. It's also one of the most diverse spaces I've been in in Seattle with a strong sense of community. I feel so supported by staff and members alike. I wish I'd joined sooner!

I love this place! It’s so inviting, inclusive, and supportive. All the instructors I’ve worked with have been so helpful and work really hard to meet folks where they are at in their ability and comfort levels. I love being able to learn things at my own pace while still being encouraged to explore different aspects of pole (floor work has become a favorite of mine).

I had the absolute BEST time at positive spin for my best friend’s bachelorette party! The team was so supportive leading up to the event, and we even got to pick a playlist with her favorite songs! We talked about it all day how much fun we had, and how sexy we felt after just one class! Our instructor was so great, the moves were challenging but fun, and they made sure everyone was comfortable. I will for sure be back, thanks again Positive Spin for giving us a bachelorette party to remember ❤️

I started pole here a few months ago, and I can’t recommend it enough. The studio is full of students of all levels, and it’s a very safe space to show up as yourself and do whatever feels good, whether that’s focusing on the art or the sport of it (or both). Positive Spin has incredible teachers and I love getting to pick the class or teacher that suits my mood on a given day - even if you are an absolute beginner, there are so many class options you can try to balance learning new tricks, building strength, and just getting confidence around the pole and on the floor. If you’re brand new to pole like I was, I highly recommend sampling as many different classes and instructors as you can so you know the range available at the studio and expand your comfort zone.

If anyone is looking for an inclusive, welcoming, and warm environment, you found your place here! Especially if you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ and plus size communities.
My friends and I signed up for an intro to pole class and plan on coming back. As someone who likes knowing what to expect before going into a new place, Alyssa (the studio owner) did a great job by sending out emails with parking information and even a video walkthrough for your first time. The studio itself is spacious, clean, and even has a lounge area for people waiting in between classes with amenities like tea and snacks. It felt cozy and I already felt comfortable being there for my first time.
Big shoutout to our instructor Christina! Since I have a bigger body, the initial thought of pole dancing and fitness studios make me nervous. But throughout the class I felt safe trying out the moves and going at my pace, which was because Christina was funny, a great instructor, and very respectful. It was amazing seeing the representation of identities and bodies on the website and in the studio itself.
Please take this long review as a sign to support their studio and join a class!

Positive Spin Pole is truly a positive place. I started taking classes here two years ago after a friend suggested that I might enjoy pole. (I have various other solo and partner dance backgrounds but had never considered pole.) A thing I say to people is that Positive Spin promotes a big message of body positivity and diversity and queer safe space and all around inclusivity and Actually follows through. They offer all those things and more! It’s a special community where everyone can be themselves and given the model to in turn kind and accepting of all. How lovely!

I have many hobbies and life commitments but Positive Spin community has always been there for me. I have other parts of my life that are very buttoned up professional, which is also authentic for me, and I appreciate this space to express this bold part of myself.
I have gained skills, technique, confidence, and strength via pole that I am grateful for. It is rare that as an adult I have been a total beginner at something, as it was with pole, and the instructors and fellow students make this a safe space to progress at my own pace.

If you’re even slightly on the fence, try the two week trial membership to get a sense of the class types and instructor styles!

I've been doing aerial acrobatics for over a decade, and pole for half of that. Positive Spin has the most knowledgable instructors I've ever had the pleasure of learning from! I love the studio's community-mindedness, and feel safe and welcome showing up as my full, queer self. So grateful to be part of this studio!

Positive Spin has been a magical place for me to rekindle my passion for dance and learn about my body in a supportive, responsive, and creative way. They take extra care to teach instructors to support your physical progression in the sport with many variations for the movements to be accessible for all. I’ve also felt emotionally supported through the various workshops that are offered on a regular basis for me to explore different styles of pole dance and learn how to leverage cross training to prevent injury. I love how inclusive this studio is for all bodies. The dedication to supporting $3X workers and $tripper$ in and outside of the studio is unlike I’ve seen from others.

I have tried about 4 or 5 pole studios across the Seattle area after being introduced to the sport from my coworker. Positive Spin is my favorite studio. How awesome is Positive Spin Pole? Well, I don't even live in Seattle, and I attend as a regular student. Their online classes are (and the way recordings are sent out afterwards) are super accessible, and have allowed me to continue training despite lots of health challenges over the past year.

Instructors are always willing to answer questions, provide modification, and encourage listening to your body.

And even though I don't get to attend in person, as someone with long COVID and asthma, I do appreciate that they continue to have a masking policy to help protect people like me.

Truly the most inclusive studio I've ever attended.

Positive Spin is the best pole studio in Seattle. I have tried classes at a few other studios this year and either felt unsupported, confused about how to progress, or just discouraged by the experience overall. What stands out to me about Positive Spin is the intention and effort placed on helping students feel safe to explore and have fun. Pole dancing can be scary at times and requires vulnerability and it makes the experience so much better when you’re in an environment where you know you’ll be supported (physically and mentally) to do hard things!

My three descriptive words for Positive Spin would be inclusive, informative, and challenging! You walk away from every class learning something new, and feeling accomplished. Every instructor I've had along the way has been equally awesome, but it's also apparent that they each have something totally unique to offer. Their classes are as unique as their personalities, and that makes it so engaging! Also worth noting, is that their vocabulary and ability to describe each exercise to you, in a way that shows you how you should be engaging each muscle group, is super impressive! It's hard for me to articulate it, but when you attend, you'll see! A lot of comparisons and visualization to get the perfect pose, but it works wonders! So whether you want to do a sexy dance, a hard workout, or something in-between, you can find it in their mannyyy daily classes, on all days of the week.

Seriously, this is the place to pole. Give it a go!

This studio is so friendly and inviting! It's a body neutral space that focuses more on joyful movement rather than 'working on your body'. They also celebrate queerness and individuality, rather than just accepting it. The instructors rock and are so compassionate.

I read up on this place and I’d be a thousand percent on board if they didn’t collectively scream in the evenings with the door open across from an apartment building. Have your fun but be considerate and at least shut the door. Funny how they’re so body positive but just open the door for anyone to see and hear. As a recovering disordered person i know for a fact this goes against everything they claim to stand for.

We were there for a bachelorette party and I couldn't have asked for a more positive experience. Our instructor was welcoming and including with very good instruction. Some of our group was more reserved/timid mixed with more outgoing people, but the instructor handled it very well and made so each of us had an enjoyable experience.

I've been a part of the Positive Spin community for about a year and a half and it's been so wonderful, affirming, and fun.

This is a fantastic place to learn pole and flex and aligns so well with my values. I have become so much more comfortable with my queer identity since joining Positive Spin. I've gained friends, community, and some killer pole skills.

I can't recommend this studio enough! Even during COVID times, there are safe options for taking in-studio classes (masked, distanced) and there are online options as well! I've done both and loved both.

Come hang out and take classes with cool people who are just overall really accepting and great. If you're looking for a studio that challenges social norms, accepts you for who you are (body type, athletic ability, identity, gender, etc.), supports the SW community, and has a bunch of really chill people, come try a pole class!

I’m obsessed with Positive Spin!! The space is so inclusive and welcoming for newbies like myself and all the instructors (and fellow students) are so friendly and helpful! We all cheer for each other when one of us does well or learns something new and it’s truly a positive and affirming environment for everyone :) It’s a wonderful community that I’m glad to have found and look forward to class every week!

Super queer-friendly and body affirming, patient and talented instructors who will challenge you and cheer you on! As a blind person, I've found Positive Spin to be a supportive, accommodating space to learn and improve. I've been poling for several years and this is my favorite studio hands down!

Positive Spin is an incredibly welcoming studio. If you haven't been yet, the new student special is an amazing value. The instructors I've met are all great at modifying or helping me to break down moves when I'm not able to do some combos or parts of the choreo. The other students and instructors have also made me feel like part of the community, even though I can't make it in as often as I'd like.

Alyssa and her team have made such a warm and welcoming community! They really meet each student at their own skill level and help support their fitness journey. It's so much fun to watch their showcases and cheer on other dancers while getting inspired to work on your own skills! Positive Spin is definitely making a positive impact on their community.

I started attending classes here a month ago, and it's been great. I am an absolute beginner and have learned a lot on a month. I'm older than the average student by a couple decades and especially appreciate the flexibility classes, Very reasonably priced, nice welcoming atmosphere. Teachers will help you if you have injuries other issues. Entirely LGBTQ-friendly.

My new pole home!

I've been poling for 4 years & previously taught at another studio. I recently transferred to the studio back in May as a student. The space is welcoming and the instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. The owner, Alyssa, is also super strong and will get you buff! :P The poles in the studio are also just as diverse as the community! I love that I have a new pole home to work on my craft and connect with another likeminded and awesome people at Positive Spin.

At the behest of a friend, I've been taking a 101 series at a different studio. I was unfortunately not succeeding there, and on a whim decided to take an intro weekend class at Positive Spin instead. I learned more in 1 class than I have in 6 weeks at that other place!!! The space is welcoming, accepting of all body types and genders (and LGBT+ friendly), very positive over all and just FUN! Would recommend this place over any other studio I have tried in the Seattle area!

If you have been thinking about pole or just want to try it, this is absolutely the place for you. Alyssa will help you find the class and packages right for you and is committed to supporting you in your fitness goals! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and talented. Class sizes are small (5 people) and other students are encouraging, understanding, and inclusive which makes it feel like a real community. Plenty of free street parking which is a huge plus and a cozy studio that makes you feel right at home.
