I love this gym. It’s never overcrowded, and it’s one of the cleanest facilities I’ve seen in a long time. The sauna is a big deal for me—at most gyms, they’re neglected and dirty, but not here. The staff even check the temperature multiple times a day to make sure it stays hot enough, which I really appreciate. And did I mention it’s not overcrowded? That alone makes such a difference.

Fairly overpriced compared most of the gyms in the area without offering any significant benefits for the cost. The hot tub has been broken since the start of the year and they’ve decided to not repair it. Meanwhile they continue to keep raising the monthly membership fees without providing any additional benefits in return.

It used to better but has become worse since the new company took over.

I’ve been a loyal member since 2017, but not anymore. A San Francisco-based company, Bay Club, has taken over and ruined this gym. Increases in dues, takeaways from amenities, reductions in hours, and insisting on charging me for a FULL 60 days of ongoing membership after notifying them I want to cancel. No wonder people are leaving!

Edit | Updating after 3 years here.

Pro Club Seattle has become a disappointment. Since the Bay Club acquisition, prices have climbed from to over $180 per month, with frequent changes and no real improvements. The facilities are outdated, equipment is often broken, torn, and very poorly maintained and the overall space feels neglected.

For the high cost, you expect a premium experience, but what you actually get falls far short. Meanwhile, nearby gyms offer comparable or better quality at a fraction of the price. No customer service, none of their support mail works.

TL;DR - Pro Club no longer delivers the value it once promised.

Included with a $181.43/mo membership:
• a dated gym space
• towel service
Not included:
• responsive and honest customer service
• actual amenities for use of aforementioned towel service
While I was not a member with previous ownership, the takeover has been more than apparent with the cost-cutting, penny-pinching, and negligent services and facilities. I held on to my membership for hot tub access and management was less than honest about its foreseeable demise. If you want a proper luxury experience to match the luxury cost, drive out to Ballard or wait for Equinox to open.

EDITED TO ADD: PROClub kept stringing members along for months about reopening the hot tub. I cancelled my membership as soon as I learned it would not be reopened and they claim their contract states that their facilities can be out of order and still charge users. Totally scummy, just like the used towels on the machines they neatly refold at the end of the day to make it look like they’ve been changed 🤢🤢🤢 Your money can do MUCH better—AVOID!

Before new ownership took over, ProClub was a dated gym that desperately needed updating but at least they kept it working and clean. The new owners have let it fall apart AND STILL RAISED THE RATES. Not only has the new owner made zero investments or improvements at the Seattle location, the company isn't even maintaining this location, with equipment that's been broken for months and a dingy space that hasn't been updated since it opened decades ago. To ask for a price increase while this gym is literally falling apart is shameful. The hot tub broke several months ago and rather than repairing it, they built a wall around it like it wasn’t even there . . . and again . . RAISED THE RATES. So we’re paying more for less. Rather than trying to maintain their existing customers before they flee to Equinox when it opens this year, they are price gouging us. When I go home to visit my parents in a small Mississippi town, I can enjoy a great workout in a big beautiful new Planet Fitness for $25/month, which includes heated water massage chairs, free tanning in high end beds and booths, red light therapy, isolation chambers and massage therapy chairs, but I’m paying six times more for a dilapidated ProClub, which has NONE of those amenities. Planet Fitness gyms also have brand new equipment in bright, open spaces with 40'+ ceilings with great lighting, where ProClub is a depressing, dark, claustrophobic space with low-hanging ceiling tiles from the 70s, terrible lighting, no mirrors in front of free weights, which I've never seen anywhere, and old equipment (treadmills so old there's no phone holder to allow you to watch your own content because that technology didn't exist when they bought the equipment). The old owners would be ashamed to see the state of this gym and to learn of the price gouging of former loyal customers.

Pro club Seattle used to be a nice gym. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. It was starting to go downhill before they sold out to the new owners, but now that decline has accelerated. There is uncertainty about their lease with the landlord past the end of 2025, and I believe that the ownership has decided to suck every penny out of it until then, without doing any further investment. This includes basic maintenance or even just keeping the amenities open. For example, the spa has been out of order for several months and this week they just decided to install a door in front of it, to keep it out of sight and out of mind of its members. And this was just a couple of weeks after they raised the membership price for everyone, including their long-standing members, by over 10% per month. Charging more or less, what a beautiful business model! If you are considering joining this club, do not join. It will either be closed by the end of the year or they will lose so many members that they’re going to have to increase the membership rate to a ridiculous amount, even more than it already is.

6 month update: this same piece of equipment shown in the photo, is still broken. Still has not been repaired. The gym has since flooded, and the whirlpools have been “temporarily” out of service for months. There are multiple pieces of broken equipment that don’t get fixed. They can’t even keep the trash cans emptied and soap dispensers full in the locker rooms.

Get used to seeing this. Everywhere. Equipment. Amenities. Even the building HVAC which seems to always be “waiting for engineering.” Every summer it’s always got an issue and the whole place is absurdly warm.

I wouldn’t recommend it.

There are a few specific circumstances where it’d make sense to join:
1. You’re already a member at Bellevue Pro Club
2. Your employer has a partnership with the gym
3. You regularly attend workout classes

If none of these apply to you, there is no reason to join this gym. Here are a few issues you’ll encounter.

Locker rooms frequently out of soap, towels, or tissues for days at a time. Moldy locker rooms. Has ~250 lockers, 12 showers, and somehow only 1 stall in men’s room.

Staff ranges from very professional to wildly unprofessional (shoutout to the trainer Justice for being the worst of the worst).

Equipment is poorly maintained.

Hours are limited.

Staff insists on keeping upstairs lights off, which they call the “cardio theatre”, which is an absolute goober idea to keep the lights off to rely on “natural light” where the treadmills and stairmasters are located when the sun sets at 4:15 PM.

Charges luxury fitness prices ($150/month) with dated equipment, old musty carpeted floors, and no pool/courts/turf. If you’re pretentious, just wait for Equinox to open, and if looking for a multipurpose gym, just go to 24 Hour.

Been going to this gym for the past two months, it’s really close to my apartment which is super convenient, the stuff is friendly.
A few issues i came across is: when me and my partner was signing up we’ve noticed that the whirlpool was closed and the front desk told us it should be resolved by the end of the week, so we got our membership, two months later it’s still now working 🥲also keep seeing the same hair all over the steam room for days in a row which means they are not cleaning their amenities daily.
Another thing (not a big one but still) me and my partner took a selfie in the mirror by the stretch area (with no body else around and NOT in changing room or bathroom) the stuff member told us on our way out of our workout that we are not allowed to take photos inside (before signing up for the membership i made sure to read all of the policies of the club) even spoke to another member that agreed that that statement isn’t correct. So this is so far the experience.

Great gym. Likely the best one in Seattle. Yet NOT cheap.

I have been to many gyms in Seattle, namely Rain City, (all) LA Fitness ones, and Pacific Northwest Fitness.

This one is outstanding. Without any doubt the best. It’s overly clean, never busy, and has the best staff and crowd.

Not cheap but totally worth every dollar.

Parking is included and parking facilities are great. I live in CapHill and it’s a 5-10 min drive. Never an issue to park. Highly recommend.

Overall, I am satisfied with the services offered. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, which I greatly appreciate. However, there are a few issues I would like to address:

A few months ago, members were informed by management that the cardio equipment, specifically the elliptical machines, would be upgraded with new models. However, the existing ellipticals—which were functioning well—were removed and replaced with older machines that serve a different purpose.

There has been no further communication regarding when the promised new equipment will arrive, or whether this change is now permanent. This lack of clarity is concerning, and I would appreciate an update on the status of the new machines.

Just to elaborate here: if you are serious about your training the health risks are not worth woking out at this gym in my opinion. The HVAC system is faulty and mgmt either can't fix the issue or doesn't want to spend money on this club. (I don't think the club is making any money at all). For example, there is a sauna, a hot tub and a steam room running all day without a working HVAC in the area (and no windows). Therefore, the smell here is so toxic (think of the dankest BO and now times that by 6 months which is how long the HVAC has not worked). I don't think it is safe to quickly enter and wash your hands. I have not entered the locker room in the past month. Insert any airborne disease you want____. I worry this air is filtering to the rest of the club.

I frigging love this gym !!! I am here every day. If you care about your health. RUN. TOXIC. MOLD. TOXIC. MOLD

I really like this gym, but sometimes I regret joining....
It is clean, staff is very kind, and it is well equipped. However, they close rather early, but that seems to be a SLU thing. Coffee shops that close at 3PM, gym that closes at 9PM... by the time you can/want to visit they are closing... other than that it's really good :)

I have been going to Pro Club for several months now. I typically go in the morning around 9am. The gym is quiet… Not a lot of people. But, enough to make you feel not alone. I definitely get my choice of what machines I want without having to wait. The gym is super clean. The staff is always friendly. The locker rooms are great too. Very clean and organized. There is a wet and dry sauna along with a jacuzzi. showers too. Parking is easy and they validate. So far so good…. I recommend!

Walked over on 8/16/2023 to sign up for membership. The front door was locked and nobody answered the phone. I finally got in because another customer opened the door and walked up to the front desk. The person there said what you can do is and then mumbled something about his manager while holding a card when I said I want to sign up for membership. I said I can leave if you don’t want to help me sign up and he said ok. So I left. Don’t come here. They don’t want members.

I don't understand why the price of a one parent + one child membership should depend on whether the parent is married

In reply to Pro Clubs reply: this is a direct quote from an email from the sales manager: "We do have a provision that allows single parents to add their first child to the membership at the Child 9-18 rate of $40 + tax instead of the First Add-On rate of $110 + tax. I have attached the Single Parent Addendum here. PRO has received feedback on both sides over the years and can see certainly see validity in both. Ultimately, we have decided to offer a single parent rate when there is no spouse / partner available to join." In person it was explained to me that the additional $70 for married parents is a punishment for the second parent not joining. The last thing I need in life is someone punishing me for not joining a gym, whether it be because of a disability or because I just don't like what membership has to offer, even though my wife and kid wanted to join the gym. They ultimately chose a local cross fit studio that didn't feel entitled to punish me for not joining.

I’ve been to this location twice now and there’s never anyone working that can sign up members. Today I even had an appointment scheduled for that specific reason and still no one was working. Last time I was here I got a pass and was told the general manager would contact me which never happened. Today I was told it was up to me to email her directly and request to join and she would send me a docusign but that wouldn’t happen until sometime next week. I’ve never in my life had a gym so difficult to sign up and take my money at this point I wouldn’t recommend this just based on the fact that their management is clearly terrible. I also called the Bellevue location to see if anyone there was working that could help me and was told the same thing. So you have two businesses operating with no one available to sign people up or take their money.

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful! My favorite part was that there are so many cable machines that I almost never had to wait for a cable machine even during the busiest hours. Dumbbells in increment of 2.5 lbs are nice too. There are multiple power racks and 8 squat racks. Wish they would put in a few platforms for squatting and deadlifting as the floor has some give. Also wish the bench press setup would be more updated. Overall I had a great experience and really enjoyed lifting here!

Do not join unless you want to go to the ends of the earth when it comes time to cancel your membership.

My experience with Pro Club was positive, until it came time to cancel my membership. I had to go in in person (why?) to cancel , and still received another monthly bill. I emailed the manager Angela and received no response. I then had to visit in person AGAIN to speak with Angelaand email AGAIN. Still no change, until I spoke with Meagan in accounting who finally got me sorted out. But still, so annoying and scummy to make people jump through hoops to cancel this costly membership.

I usually don’t do things like this, but this was a pretty bad experience. Even though I’ve had a good experience by myself so far. I brought a new time gym friend here and was even going to recommend personal training. They wanted to get comfortable with a gym and working out with other people before committing though. During this workout, I was helping them learn how to squat. One of the trainers, I believe their name was Elsa, came up to us and rudely told us that training someone (even though we are friends) without a personal trainer is completely unallowed. I understand rules are rules. I would have been okay if they would’ve just pulled me aside instead of doing this in front of my friend who was clearly nervous about the gym. Or even pointing at a sign that says this. Now they don’t want to come back or get personal training which took months of convincing. I hope gatekeeping fitness and asking for help was worth it. I just hope you consider this in the future and that some people need help getting to a point where they even feel comfortable getting a personal trainer.

Pro Club is a fantastic gym...if you work at Microsoft or make a lot of money.

The facilities are very clean (especially during Covid), the staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a large selection of machines, including the free weight machines (gyms often just have a bunch of cardio).

The Seattle one is probably one of the largest and most roomy gyms in all of Seattle, but again, you gotta pay for that variety and space.

Contrary to some of the other reviews, I find the pro club to be the definition of cleanliness and professionalism. I have been working out here for over 15 years and seen people come and go. I witnessed the view get obstructed by the development of the WeWorks building across the alley. This is a well-staffed fitness facility that has always managed to hire super nice folks. Unfortunately, even with continued feedback of health concerns, there is an unwillingness for this club to meet basic cleanliness measures. It seems the emphasis is on the appearance of clean and marketing clean versus actually keeping the facility clean and healthy for its members who pay a substantial monthly fee. Currently, the men's locker room is disgusting. The grated shower mats are full of human waste, the steam room has a disgusting odor given its lack of cleaning (spraying eucalyptus is not cleaning). After complaints, they did replace shower curtains which were torn and pink with mold. And in the past, there was black mold on and around soap dispensers which is starting to return. It's rare that you can use the men's urinal without having to straddle a pool of urine. The point is that these areas should have a thorough and constant cleaning regimen and not left to time creating unsanitary conditions. This is a supposed to be a health club, but sadly it is not.

I like everything in pro club granted the only reason I go there is cause of basketball and is a really good practice facility. The basketball used are top quality. The courts are really clean and it's also well organized. I go here everyday for at least 2 hours and enjoy every second. The staff is genuinely kind . The one complaint I have is just one member in the staff, some elderly lady seems to have it out for me and whenever I enter which is basically everyday I be sure to avoid her. She has this negative vibe and talks back to much. Like one time I came and there was no one at the desk besides her because the other members of the staff were busy and I said my name like the other hundred times before and I know she knows my name but instead she throws a fit saying I'm speaking to fast and I repeat then one of the members of the staff notice me and tells the elder lady I got it and I walk to the court minding my business but i can hear the old lady complaining and bickering about me. The only thing I would recommend that would improve this place is to fire that old lady
