I joined Pure Barre five months postpartum, feeling totally disconnected from working out…physically and MENTALLY. Just showing up for an hour, being guided, and focusing on me again was exactly what I needed.
Pure Barre has taught me to be intentional and disciplined in every movement, inside and outside the studio. In just a short amount of time with consistency (5x a week + calorie deficit), I’ve lost 30 pounds and gained so much confidence and mental clarity.
This journey has gone far beyond weight loss, it’s taught me mental discipline and the important of physical stability. I RECOMMEND!!!!
Also, Huge shout-out to STEPHANIE and her EMPOWER classes 🔥…I’d be nothing without them!

The ability to take different variations of classes and new routines within those variations are a plus. This is a zone for you show up for yourself and not feel 'on display' for strangers wandering around a gym. Once you have committed to attending a class, you feel stronger physically and emotionally for having completed it. Pure Barre is an option for anyone and everyone.

I like the small group aspect of the class and I feel like I get such a good workout every time! I like how most of the instructors are attentive and helpful if you’re doing a move a little wrong, they’re so sweet to correct it and make you feel like you’re doing amazing!

The workouts are really effective and challenging while also not being something I dread going to. The great pacing of the classes, along with the fun music, makes the time go by quickly in a good way. I’m never stuck thinking “when will this be over?” as can easily happen with other workouts. The staff is friendly and I appreciate the way they try to make you feel part of a community. I would really love it if they offered a class pack option where I could buy a certain amount of classes and not have to worry about my classes expiring when I go on vacation, get sick, have family visiting etc. The only downside for me has been trying not to lose classes I’ve paid for due to not being able to attend within the pay period.

Pure Barre is the only workout I’ve ever been consistent with. I find immense reward in the daily challenge and I absolutely love the community and the connections it inspires! As a veteran client of more than 10 years, I can tell you I still find it dynamic, interesting and challenging every class I take. I have fostered incredible friendships and connections through the studios that make my life more joyful and I truly appreciate the level of expertise offered by the teachers at Pure Barre of Vancouver Studios. I have traveled and taken classes in many other states and there’s truly nothing that compares to the Excellence of PBVanWa.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. The communication is the worst I have ever had and I have other memberships at Pilates, cycling, and yoga studios. You must get everything in writing with them because they will change it on the flip of a dime the next time you are spoken to. They will change your membership without any written or verbal notice.
I have had this membership for a month and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. I booked their classes using One Pass and when we went to our first class Noah informed us that we would only be able to book “classic” classes after April. My boyfriend and I knew this so we planned to take the other ones in March as the contract stated.
Today is March 3rd and they have unhooked us from all the classes for the month claiming that we have to get “set up” for a new membership with only the classic classes. When we communicated that it not what we were told they said unfortunately that is how it is.
If a manager sees this I would like to be in written correspondence to what went wrong.
It is very unfortunate because we had classes we paid for booked for the month as well enjoyed Pure Barre.

I've been to Barre3 before and compared to Pure Barre I would definitely recommend Barre3 studio. The 'required socks' is definitely a business scheme here. $20 for a pair of socks!

Excellent barre classes! Been going about 3x week for 1.5 years and am now in the best shape of my life (at 59!). I’ve never been able to stick with any workout program, and I’ve tried many, but something about Pure Barre just works. My core is strong and I love that I can do physical things now without giving it much thought or worry about strain or injury.
The staff is very warm, friendly and helpful. Very down to earth - no gym rat mentality here.
Love the variety of options in class types. From yoga-esque to free weight to cardio to core toning workouts, there’s something for every person or mood. Also love that classes are full of students at all levels of experience and ability.
Highly recommend this studio!

5/5 - great staff, refreshing workout classes.
I have had a good exp here. There are always specials and deals being offered here. I have just purchased a punch card so far.
I would like to share my personal exp was good from the start. I bought a punch card not knowing my health would delay when I could actually take classes. The owner extended my punch cards time so that I actually had a chance to use it! I appreciated the studio working with me when they didn’t have to.

Studio lies to get extra money out of people and does not honor programs through Active&Fit. They will claim it’s an “add on” to try and get you to double pay for something. This is not listed anywhere and is a deceptive practice. Don’t waste your money at this studio and don’t sign up for anything with this studio from Active&Fit or through ClassPass or any other service unless you want to waste your time and money dealing with them. Go to literally any other Barre studio.

Pure Barre has been such a game changer for me. Not only have I become physically stronger and fit but the community that has been built here is truly amazing. I’ve tried many gyms and other work out studio’s and never really felt comfortable. PB was the first workout that I consistently feel challenged and no one class is identical making each class challenging and fun. The hands on correction and the instructors helping you dive deeper into proper form is such a wonderful addition to help provide the results wanted. The community of women (and men) are there to truly support one another’s goals and accomplishments. I have met some lifelong friendships through this community and I could’t be more grateful. Pure Barre is an amazing and safe place to workout!

It's funny how this app cut me off when I was leaving my description I signed up when covid was at 50% capacity and mask wearing. I was able to get into one class and had to sign up ahead of time for the next, they would always fill up and I would be on a waitlist and never get in. When I reached out to the staff they never called me back and ignored my calls for at least 2 weeks. I would not go back there for they never tried to make it right with me. The instruction itself was okay but when you're a brand new person having never done it before they were not not very attentive.
Good luck
This is added well after their response, today is 9/25/21. Still nothing from them even after their busy month. Buy at your own risk.

This started out as a great, first time, free class. (Even though they said they had socks for purchase starting at $6, which wasn't true!) The class was amazing and they were super helpful, friendly, attentive, etc. However, once the class was over, they pretty much cornered my friend and I. Once we said we couldn't commit to buying a membership right then, we were shown the door immediately. (I didn't even have my shoes on yet!) They turned snappy and rude. We never heard from them again. Even though I was honestly considering joining, the way we were treated was so awful, I'd NEVER give my business here again!! Unless you're ready to join on their "tonight only" specials, don't bother!

Worst experience i have ever had at a studio/gym. First let me say that it had nothing to do with the actual class or instructor. I registered for the week free trial, and went to my first class and all was well. The next day i went to my second class, everything was fine until i was leaving afterwards. They said i had to be a local drivers license and now i had to pay $27/class. I was planning on using Classpass of mindbody to book at this studio 2-3/month after the free week, which is usually quite a bit cheaper than $27/class. I told them that they should have stopped me before the class But no I had to pay them the ridiculous amount they charge for a class because THEY made a mistake and forgot to check to see if i had a local license before taking not one, but two classes at their studio already. Very shady way to do business - would much rather give my business to another studio.

What an incredible experience. I was so nervous walking into the class as someone who had never done this before. The instructor introduced herself immediately then went over the lingo and moves that I would expect to hear and do during class. This was so helpful. The class is tough don't get me wrong but just as I felt I was hitting a wall, I'd hear the instructor say my name and tell me how awesome I was doing. This pushed me to not give up. I was so impressed with the class and can't wait to go back

I've been a client of Pure Barre since 2009 and have been to many barre studios since then. When I found out my hubs and I were relocating to Vancouver, WA, I was stoked to find out there was a Pure Barre studio less than 10 minutes away from our new place!
5 reasons for 5 stars for PB Vancouver - Grand Central:
1) The classes. Both Pure Barre & Pure Barre Platform are fast-paced, very hard, and incredibly fun. The technique and flow of class for Pure Barre are better than all other barre classes I've taken. 55 minutes has never gone by so quickly.
2) The studio. PB Vancouver is probably the cleanest, best maintained studio I've been to. Mirrors are always spotless, bathrooms stocked, carpet vacuumed... It is a place I want to hang out at AND work out in!
3) The staff. From my 2nd or 3rd class I was greeted and known by name by the staff here. They made me feel like I was at my home studio and welcomed me into their community with open arms.
4) The community. The studio has a bunch of events that encourage clients to get to know one another as they work out together. It feels like a big happy family that is incredibly welcoming to new clients.
5) The location. This studio is right off the 5 and 14 on Columbia House Blvd., by Freddie's (groceries/pharmacy), Thatcher's (good coffee), Lapellah/Freshii (good food), and Willows (cute little boutique). It is so convenient to run errands/meet someone before or after class, or hop over the 5 down to Portland.
Hope you find a home away from home like I do at this studio, all while getting into shape! :)
Hope you find a home away from home like I do at this studio, all while getting into shape! :)
PS. A few things to note if you are coming for your first class:
- Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get acquainted with the studio.
- Bring socks. They sell the sticky-bottom ones in the studio if you want those instead.
- Water bottles are allowed in the studio; there is also a cooler with water and cups but I like to have water during class.
- Wear long pants and keep your midriff covered to stay warm during class & burn more calories!
- Try to have fun. It takes 4-7 classes to get comfortable with the class and your first will go by quickly!

I feel stronger and it is amazing. Give it a try, you won't regret it. The only down side is that it is pricey - but it's an investment in your body, your health and your sanity! I have had the best experience at Pure Barre Vancouver. I didn't grow up playing sports, coordinated activities aren't usually my strong point! I started Pure Barre not to lose weight, but to become stronger and healthier. Everyone has been so helpful, and patient with me. I love going to the class vs doing a home video because they make sure you are in the correct posture, and aren't hurting yourself. The encouragement they give when it's HARD is also a plus! Physically I've seen a big difference in just 8 weeks. What I didn't expect was the mental difference... It feels great knowing I can do things I couldn't do just a couple weeks ago. It is also a great stress reliever/ get away from the daily grind for 55 mins! I'm hooked!

Love me some Pure Barre! As a long-time PB enthusiast from Northern California, this studio has quickly become my new home away from home in the Pacific Northwest.
For first-timers:
- This Pure Barre is located between a Red Robin and Freshii with easy access from the 5 and 14. Parking is a breeze most of the time, and Fred Meyer is in the same shopping center, so the location is super convenient.
- Try to show up 10-15 minutes early for your first class so you can meet the teacher/get the best spot in class.
- There are cubbies for your belongings, 2 restrooms, and 1 changing room at the studio. The restrooms are stocked with hair products & toiletries.
- Sticky socks are a must! If you don't already own some, the studio sells it for $12/pair. Great for hardwood floors too if you have those at home.
- This studio offers Breaking Down the Barre classes every month for free if you've taken class from the studio, which is great for helping you understand the lingo and technique of the class--highly recommend.
- Have fun!

Pure Barre, all of the instructors and Barre staff have changed my life in so many ways, there is absolutely NO way I could ever return the love and awesomeness! There are not enough words in the English language to express my gratitude. This is my new lifestyle change and I am so grateful for this experience!!! I love all of the instructors, Barre staff and my fellow barre mates!
I am Samoan and in my culture, family is EVERYTHING! I have happily added Pure Barre Vancouver - Grand Central to my very, very long list of families😎 because that is the feeling I get when I walk through that Pure Barre door. I get nourishment, encouragement, inspiration, love, good advice, wisdom nuggets, discipline, motivation, instruction, direction and most importantly, perspiration (teehee) and more!!! I am the toughest Samoan out there!
This is probably the hardest thing I have ever committed myself to doing. And because it isn't easy, I think it's the best experience I will ever go through in this lifetime. I am so happy I made this very important life decision. I supremely, utterly and with all of my heart and soul, recommend Pure Barre - Vancouver Grand Central to anyone who has the fire and passion to change their life and find true happiness!!!!!
