Q's Taekwondo youth home rules #2, #6, and "The unnumbered rule" are concerning because not all parents and families are healthy and treat children well. No adult or child should be required to respect anyone who has hurt, gaslit, manipulated, or abused them. Respect should be a two-way street. Teaching a child they must show respect or they'll be punished by being reduced in rank is dangerous if they have any toxic family members. I think Q's would be wise to update and reword their rules to better reflect that not all families are perfect and that children deserve respect as well as adults.

Finding the right Taekwondo school has been a long journey for us, and we couldn’t be happier to have discovered Q’s Taekwondo in Puyallup. The level of instruction here is beyond impressive, and having a grandmaster directly involved is something truly special. After spending 20 years living all over the world, including in South Korea, where Taekwondo was born, I’ve seen firsthand how martial arts are taught in many places. Q’s Taekwondo stands out as the best.

The school is about so much more than just learning techniques; it’s about building confidence, discipline, and character. My daughters absolutely love attending, and it’s amazing to watch them grow under the guidance of such skilled and dedicated instructors. I feel incredibly lucky to have this gem in our community—a place where kids learn not just martial arts, but also values that will shape them for life.

Both of my children are students, it’s been a great experience! I am impressed with the way Master Q teaches children. I’m all smiles watching the class! I love hearing the excitement on the way home talking with my children about their experience.

What a blessing it is to have a value-driven, highly respectable man in our community that is committed to teaching our children important core values, physical skills, home rules and respect.
As a veteran, I love that Master Q is a veteran. His military experience coupled with his martial arts training plus his genuine heart makes his classes the best around. A rare gem, don’t pass up this opportunity to train here. Highly recommend!!!!

Ok it is official. I believe Q's Taekwondo is by far one of the best in all of the state if not the region. Not because of the facility or location, because of what is taught and instructed between those walls. We were fortunate enough to come across Q's while living in Puyallup and so glad we did. For over a year, my 7 year old at the time blossomed. He enjoyed learning Taekwondo and it is what got his attention. Besides, martial arts, he was growing as a child and developing great social skills, learning concepts of respect and integrity every class. With the home rules and structure being taught, I'd say every kid would greatly benefit. But I want to stress how important the instructor aspect is. At the time I was very impressed with Master Q and other instructors. But unknowingly, didn't know how exceptional they really were. Unfortunately we had to relocate across the state and have tried now 4 Taekwondo dojangs and have not came close to Q's. The structure and engagement lacked at all of them and even came across a couple that were only in it for the money. We have no other choices around that come close to what we are looking for in a dojang so we started classes in Karate because its the best we can find here in Spokane. This review is to reiterate, don't pass on Q's in Puyallup. Your kids not only learn fundamentals and Taekwondo as a martial art but really, they learn great foundational attributes that stick with them. We've been away from Q's for just about a year now and my son still applies his home rules he learned from Q's. Trust me. You won't regret.

If you are considering Taekwondo for your child or yourself look no further. Master Q is wonderful. My son loves going to practice and has grown so much since he started. He has learned so much in such a short period. You gain a family when you become a part of the team.

Q’s Taekwondo is a great family owned business, that makes you feel like you are a part of the family. They have been so welcoming from the very beginning. They are clear on their values, goals and expectations with the students and will push them to do their best, but never to the point of being harsh. This is a place where being loud is encouraged. It is a sport/martial art class so you must expect it to be on the tougher side; however the determination, confidence and standards you will gain for yourself at the end of the day are priceless and something that will stick with you for the rest of your life. The transformations I’ve witnessed from the kids and adults in Master Q’s class are nothing short of amazing.

If you want to become a better version of you and aren’t shy of a challenge, appreciate authentic teachings of the art, Q’s Taekwondo is where it’s at!

My 12 yo grandson came to live with us a year ago. He had a pretty difficult road to us and when I asked what activity he would like to participate in and he immediately said martial arts. Q's is right down the street from us and we are blessed to have found them. I had a previous experience with a different Dojang & it was not a positive one. It was about getting as many kids as possible tied up in long contracts for 2 night a week, 1 hour training sessions. At Q's it is about the kids, building strong leaders and family. PLEASE check them out even if you have had a negative experience elsewhere. No contracts, invested Masters & family environment.

This is an old school dojang. Where the students earn the next belt. Students are not tested just to provide additional income to the School. Students focus on techniques, forms, and sparring. Master Quiming is patient and concerned with each student. Puyallup is fortunate to have this school of Taekwondo here.
