I love Raven. I love that they honor the roots of pole (y’all pole dance comes from sex workers)! The instructors are all so passionate about pole and love to see folks do well. I’ve taken classes from at least 8 instructors and every single one had a different style of teaching but all of them were kind, helpful and encouraging. Even though this studio is a half hour away and there is a studio 5 minutes from my house, I do the trek because Raven is superior at being a great place to learn pole dance, find community, not be shamed and have fun.

A friend and I went to a beginner class and felt completely at ease and comfortable because the instructor was so positive and supportive. It made the experience so enjoyable. Trying something new can be very intimidating, but we had a blast. Everyone was extremely professional. The studio is beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend Raven studio.

I’m thoroughly enjoying these classes. It’s so hard to exercise regularly so I’ve been trying to find something that’s fun enough that I want to do it regularly. This place hit the spot, sign up and registering online was easy and strait forward. The teacher and everyone in the classes is super nice and it’s just good vibes all around. So glad I found this place!
Edit: wish classed were longer given that warm ups are about 30 minutes and that only leaves 30 minutes for actually learning new things. Things usually seem rushed and most of the time there’s twice as many people as poles so you’re taking turns and it’s just… like not a lot of time on the pole yourself learning new things… which is like all I want. Will probs just start going to open studio and learning via free tutorial online cuz I’m sick of having to share a pole and barely getting any learning/ practicing time. Kinda bummed on that but everyone is always very nice and it’s a good atmosphere otherwise

It's such a great and welcoming studio! Their intro deal is a steal, and it helped me make the decision to begin a new hobby! The instructors are all really knowledgeable, and you can tell they all love their respective specialties!

For the most part, I'm enjoying classes here! The flexibility classes in particular are AMAZING. The issues that come up have to do with the high demand at this studio. Firstly, it's difficult to get into a class without booking far in advance. I found this particularly misleading with the membership offering unlimited open pole, when I've found it nearly impossible to actually get into an open pole session. Access to open pole was a draw in the membership for me, so I was really disappointed to discover that I wouldn't actually get as much time in the studio as I felt the membership implied. Secondly, because classes are often booked with two students to a pole, it's difficult to get feedback from the instructors and to get enough time in class to practice on the pole. I came from a studio with smaller class sizes that did not practice overbooking poles, so this again made me feel like I wasn't getting the value out of the membership that I expected. This made the experience of the class a bit frustrating. At times, fellow students were teaching me moreso than the instructors which should absolutely not be their responsibility (although I'm deeply grateful for it!). This is not at all a complaint about the instructors, who are amazing, but about the large class sizes. I'm glad the studio has such high demand and there's no easy way to solve these issues (I would LOVE to see raven studios expand in the future and offer a second location at some point) but these are definitely things to be aware of to those shopping around for studios. If you're looking for something more intimate with more flexibility with bookings, I'd suggest Positive Spin Pole. I didn't opt to start a membership with them because it's far from my house and more pricey, but might end up switching after my three month membership if it continues to feel like these issues with class sizes and availability at Raven are hampering my progress with pole.

I hate giving negative reviews, however, I can’t recommend this place. Parking was terrible on the day that I went, though my classmates assured me that wasn’t usually the case. Apparatus sharing was unexpected- there was more participants in the class than there were slings. I've seen reviews stating this is common practice in Seattle, however, I’ve yet to see it anywhere else. I’ve take aerial yoga before at other Seattle locations - both hammock style (2 anchors) and sling style (one anchor that spins.) I’m also accustomed to the apparatus being adjusted to one’s height. Here, there were high slings and low slings, but to use the high one you essentially had to be able to do a full pull up in what is marketed as a beginner class. I used the low sling and tried to flip as I’ve done in other non-raven studio locations, but due to the height of the hammock, I wound up smashing my hand into the ground and after going to urgent care the next day, I was informed it was broken. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to use my remaining 3 trial classes now, which sucks because that money could’ve gone to my urgent care copay. (Edit: they have since refunded me, which I genuinely appreciate!)
I’d heard a bunch of really good things about raven studio, and wanted to love it, but now I’m unable to do any activity that would require my hands for 6-8 weeks. I wish it was more clear that apparatuses are shared, or simply that class size could be made smaller. I also wish there was a beginner “conditioning” or strength training class for people who maybe don’t have the core or upper body strength yet required for certain activities. Overall, I was really excited to try a few classes here but don’t foresee being able to go back.

I have been coming to this studio for years. I love their open culture, the huge and beautiful facility, the awesome and high-quality instructors, and the wide variety of classes they offer. I have learned and grown so much over the years, and my gratitude for this supportive community is indescribable. I also appreciate the cost-effective pricing they offer and the convenient parking lot. Thank you!

Great facility, location is a little out of the way but most studios are in Seattle. Lots of parking available. Like others have stated, you do have to share a pole from time to time, but that has been my standard experience at most studios in Seattle.
I took a few beginning courses but have ultimately decided the studio wasn't for me. I would appreciate more feedback and instruction during lessons. I didn't feel very welcomed to most classes and it felt more like a place where you get your exercises in and get out than a community.
Overall, a very body positive space and very inclusive, excellent equipment and space and a lot of room to practice, generally enough class space for interest, but a less than ideal location and not the vibe I'm looking for.

So I have a horrible fear of any group classes especially one that involves choreography. (I was traumatized at a hula dancing class of all places) I faced my fears and signed up. This place, the people and especially the instructors made me feel so comfortable! I've tried to take other classes in the past like art and found myself constantly looking at the clock to see when I get to leave at Raven studios, with these classes. It's the opposite. I want to stay longer. If you're afraid, for whatever reason, Don't be. All are welcome there! just buy a drop-in class and check it out. I promise you won't regret it.

Overbooked class and as a result not enough time in class to be hands on with the pole.
Its not a bad studio by any means but having been to other studios in Seattle this place is the only one I have been to that over books the pole classes, you share the pole whole time with another student which makes the actual class time you spend practicing very little. I saw another person post about this and the studio’s response was its “common practice in Seattle” that has not been my experience at the other three studios I have been to here in Seattle. Its a nice studio but i prefer more class time than what they offer, I wont be going back.

I’ve been taking classes at Raven for almost two years now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I have looked at other studios to see if their schedule would work better with my work hours but the membership price and variety of classes offered at Raven are hard to beat! All instructors I have worked with are very knowledgeable and so supportive! Raven also has a great new student deal (4 classes for $40??? I love a discount) that everyone should take advantage of if they are still feeling unsure about coming to the studio. Check it out!!

I tried several gyms over the years but didn't feel good enough about them to commit for the long term. As soon as I started taking classes at Raven Studios however I knew I found the place for me. I love the physical and mental challenges of pole fitness and as an outcome, I'm in the healthiest shape of my life. Scheduling is easy once you get in the rhythm and they keep the rooms and equipment clean and well stocked. And of course I really appreciate how energetic and involved the owner Jana is, not only in the studio goings-on but the pole community in general - after emceeing a public event despite being hoarse and tired she still showed up to teach class and give us all a challenging workout. Her dedication won't go unnoticed!

Instructors were great but we had to share poles even for the choreo class and there was no communication that we would have to share poles.

Would not recommend for beginner pole dancing! Did three L1 classes with Belle. Each class, she didn’t seem to have a plan and just asked what we wanted to learn - but as beginners, we didn’t even know what to ask! And when trying moves, she’d tell us when we were doing things wrong, but wouldn’t spend much time educating on how to fix. I would’ve appreciated a bit of direction as a beginner.

Raven offers good variety of classes to accommodate students with different skill levels and schedules. Besides, they are so generous by offering free open studio to students with membership. All instructors are knowledgeable and patient to newbies. They also provide a safe and inclusive environment for people with different backgrounds. Highly recommended!

tried to get in contact to see how I should schedule my remaining package sessions being their scheduling app and website stopped functioning. After leaving voicemails around 8 times, I gave up. Almost 2 years later, I’m reminded seeing their ads in my email. So I thought Id make a final attempt to inquire. I finally get a reply & rather than asking question, details, help fix or maybe a refund? They automatically shut me out w some excuse & condescending “we’re sorry.” can’t believe how unprofessional & poorly they’d treat clients. I advise going elsewhere.

I started coming to Raven (taking pole classes) in November for what I thought would be a creative way to rebuild upper body strength after surgery. What happened instead is that I’ve become almost obsessed with coming here! Every instructor has a slightly different style which makes every class unique and fun. It’s the only exercise I’ve ever done that I’m actually excited to go to & can’t wait for my next class as soon as one ends! I don’t see an end in sight to this newfound love of pushing my physical body & mental view of my body to places it’s never gone before! Stress management is another goal for me… and when you are spinning on a pole, I promise you’re not thinking about anything else! Not 100% sure what sound a Raven makes, but tweet tweet bi*otches! Get to a class as soon as possible! You won’t regret it!! -Gabrielle

I just got a membership and I’ve taken pole, Lyra, and aerial hammock classes so far - it feels so amazing to find a kind of exercise that you get excited about but also leaves you dripping with sweat!!
Every instructor has been incredibly kind, and I’ve walked away from every class feeling good about myself and what my body is capable of! I’m very excited to continue to get stronger and learn more. Plus there’s always parking which slaps.
Very beginner friendly, very welcoming, and very affordable! ❤️

This is a STUNNING space to practice in. It is clean, well lit, and spacious (which matters when you're swinging your body around!). I've only taken classes from Jana so far, but she is kind, professional, and great at offering modifications/regressions for those of us who are still learning.
The attention to detail and safety around COVID is really comforting. They're taking all the necessary steps to make this feel as safe as possible, and while working out in a mask is HARD, there is a private, open air courtyard where you can step outside for some deep breaths, which is a huge help.
I'm really impressed and excited by the class offerings here. And again, I cannot emphasize what a beautiful space it is with tall poles, high ceilings, natural light, and unobstructed mirrors.
It's also really easy to get to off of 99 or 5, and there's easy street parking.
