I took the Hot Hatha class with Sylvia and it was wonderful! It was my first time taking a yoga class so I was a bit nervous, but directions were easy to follow along and there is an emphasis on everyone moving at their own pace with the opportunity to push themselves. I left feeling so in tune with my mind and body, definitely want to go back!

As a person who works a lot with a kid this is one of the places I chose to spend some of the small handful of hours I get to myself every week at the Roosevelt loc, and it helps make them count! If you want a studio that is friendly, warm, tons of strong/motivated/happy people around you, and awesome instructors come here. Special shout out to Morgan Zion's classes, full of sick tracks, stacked joints, and puddles of sweat, along with some actually useful personal insights that I find myself frequently connecting with rather than ignoring.

I took Ferrahs Vinyasa class at the Roosevelt location, and she was an incredible teacher. Her deep knowledge of yoga really showed, and she incorporated so much more than just the asanas into the session. That depth and mindfulness truly set her class apart from others.

Took Sylvia's Power Vinyasa this morning, and she was a very informative and effective instructor. The space was clean, and check-in was super easy! The first part of class featured an efficient and dynamic warm-up, followed by a powerful flow series. I loved how Sylvia emphasized our personal freedom as students and that it was our practice. She built in time to work on static poses and gave tailored personal feedback. She held space for us as students to learn new techniques and poses β€” something you don’t see all the time at other yoga studios. The class was a great mix of challenge and focusing on yoga foundations. The heat level was also great, not overly hot but just enough to deepen the flow. It was a very empowering and physically challenging class with something for all experience levels; it definitely stands out amongst other yoga studios in the Seattle area!

I signed up for a monthly membership at this business through a third-party app called MINDBODY. I assumed I would be able to cancel the membership through the same platform, but there was no option to do so. I even tried removing my payment method from MINDBODY, but it didn’t work, and my credit card was charged for two additional months.

During those two months, I did not attend a single yoga class, yet they continued charging my card. I reached out to the merchant, and they initially promised to refund at least one month’s charge. However, after waiting for a week with no progress, I followed up and was told to email someone else. After multiple calls and even visiting the location in person, I was still bounced around between different people with no resolution.

My request is straightforward: I want a refund for the two months of charges during which I did not use the service. It is unreasonable that I cannot cancel the membership through the same platform where I signed up and that the business is refusing to process the refund they originally promised. This has wasted a significant amount of my time and energy without any resolution

I have been going to Shefayoga for a full year now, and I’ve truly loved my time here. The front desk staff are so welcoming. They work really hard to make the space feel like a resting place for my mind while I’m there. Not only is the class schedule full of variety, but each instructor gives options to take it up or down a notch when you’re doing your movements. Each teacher is knowledgeable, warm, and they remind me to take a moment to *breathe*. I highly, highly recommend this studio; do the 30-day challenge!!

I took a vinyasa flow class with Sylvia and it was the BEST! She is great at teaching with such strong intention, allowing her class to feel a mind-body connection. Her carefully curated music playlist matched the flow sequence at a great pace as things heated up, and then once our flow started to cool down for the evening, the music again matched the flow. This studio location is warm and welcoming, and I highly recommend taking Sylvia's classes.

I had a disappointing experience with Shefayoga. Shortly after joining, I realized the studio wasn’t the right fit for me, and I also encountered ongoing issues with their app. Despite only attending a few classes and having multiple passes remaining, I requested a partial refund due to these problems and the fact that I was unexpectedly laid off soon after purchasing the membership. Unfortunately, their team was unable to offer any flexibility, citing a strict no-refund policy. While I understand the importance of policies, the lack of empathy and customer support during a challenging time was frustrating and disheartening.

I’ve been a member of this studio for many years and did a retreat with the owner a few years ago. Having practiced yoga for over 20 years, I can say without doubt that this studio is one of the best out there! The instructors are all amazing, Leah, the owner, really has a talent for choosing the best instructors, creating and maintaining this special space, and empowering them to bring their own unique gifts to their classes - some add singing and sound bowls, poems, and other special extras. All seem to really care about their students and speak and instruct from the heart. It’s a beautiful community and I highly recommend anyone interested to try it out, it’s been a lifeline for me! 😊

Went a couple times in May '22 and had different teachers but both classes were great. I would say they were moderately exerting, loose flows with some moments of intensity but also some opportunities to luxuriate in different structures of the body. Around room temp with some subtle music. Instructors offered nice (often internal) cues helping practitioner relax in, towards a yogic place.

Enjoyed 2 classes here but was scratching my head at the fact that they didn’t need to see my vaccine card. It didn’t sit right and when I looked into it further I learned that they have blatantly been going against city and state Covid protocol for the duration of the pandemic. Don’t feel comfortable being indoors at this studio anymore as I’d imagine it would have to attract anti-vax clientele and staff. Wish they would just check folks vaccine cards and call it good.

Shefayoga flagrantly refuses to abide by King County's mandate that all indoor fitness studios require proof of COVID vaccine or a negative test.

How did I arrive by this knowledge? I went in for a class – my first indoor yoga class since pre-COVID – and tried to show them my vax card. The person at the front desk said, "That's sweet but..." and trailed off before I even had the chance to take the card out of my wallet. When I looked online and spoke with the owner of another studio, I discovered it's just something of an open secret that Shefayoga and its sister studio, Haute Yoga in Queen Anne, refuse to abide by these mandates. The owner literally went on Fox News earlier in 2021 to share her frankly dangerous opinion of COVID protocols.

I started shefayoga back in 2020 through a Groupon and LOVED the classes. I especially like that i have to sign up for class slots because as a horrible procrastinator I often tell myself I'm tired today and will workout tomorrow. But once i sign up for a class i now have to go and then am always glad I did. I also love they are still doing online yoga while COVID is still being managed. The studio itself is always clean and plenty of lockers to store my purse, etc.
There are also plenty of instructors, so if you find you like a particular one you can sign up for their classes exclusively. And their hot yoga is great! it's never "bikram hot" where it's unbearable and hard to breath. It's just hot enough to really stretch the muscles and break a great sweat.

Extremely disappointed to hear that Shefayoga is still holding in studio classes. Shefayoga is willingly putting the health of students and the community at risk. I'm a healthcare provider and Shefayoga's disregard is the biggest slap in the face to everyone bending over backwards trying to keep people well and alive. It is simply unforgivable and they should be ashamed. This used to be my favorite studio but I will never support this business again.

Although I have enjoyed over 100 classes at shefayoga and have adored many of the instructors, I can no longer support a business owner that cares so little for the community at large to defy COVID restrictions so blatantly and so loudly (and on Fox News, no less). Holding in-person classes while other studios sit empty following the rules is not brave. It is a shame that assistance has been so sparse, that some industries are carrying the load of closures and I sympathize with that and think that should change. However, this is not the way either. I am so disappointed. Once this is over, I will not be returning.

I don't know if it is appropriate to 'review' a specific yoga instructor, but I do find it useful for students who would like more insight on the class they might take. I visited Shefayoga and took a 730p Power Vinyasa class with Natalie. She was a joy but talked way too much for my liking. I use yoga as a quiet, meditative time where I am allowed to be introverted. Natalie had a lot of conversation during class, including making comments about the internet, memes, and other things that I tend to shut out when I come to my mat. I have to deal with people and life all day every day, I come to yoga to check out. She also spoke a great deal during our balancing sequence. As a RYT myself, I was trained to use that time to be quiet, to allow students to find their drishti (yogic gaze/focal point) and I found myself frustrated because I couldn't focus!!! If you like a more of a social aspect to class- this might be it for you. There is a lot of talk and laughing which is fine if that's what you are looking for. As for me, I prefer to check out, and trust that I will be guided straight through a full 60 minute practice

I appreciate Natalie's enthusiasm and wish her the best! I will be back to try other classes/instructors

They don't just read some dumb quote or talk about surface level things. I love the HEAT in the studios, please keep it warm!!! This makes your studio different from every other studio! I love that I get the heat without having to do "Hot Yoga" Instructors guide us through a great movement practice, it flows and makes sense

Love this place. It's a little crowded most of the time, but worth it. Excellent instructors, and a friendly environment.

Most experienced and engaging yogi teachers in Seattle. Beautiful meditations. Total mind and body release.

The instructors and staff are friendly and welcoming, and the studio is clean and comfortable. I've tried three different instructors so far (Michelle, Meghan, and Sean) and liked them all for different reasons. I appreciate their attention to detail, always beginning the class with an inspiration or meditation to think about. I also appreciate their gentle encouragement to grow in our practice but never to overdo it or be too hard on ourselves. I've been very pleased with my experiences thus far!

The studio is clean and inviting. It is centrally located, but somehow free of the sounds of traffic and outside world. Puja is an awesome instructor. The yin class was incredibly relaxing and restorative.

Used to hop around with groupon deals--but now I'll never leave Shefa. Teachers are consistently good, kind, thoughtful, and creative with their classes.

I have just started practicing here and I looovvveee it. Gorgeous studio with everything you need. I was intimidated by being in a hot room.. I work close by but it took me awhile to get the courage to try it. They truly embody that yoga is a practice, not something one could ever be perfect at and are encouraging that you just meet yourself where you are. I am a huge fan of Jackie Elliot's classes. Note: parking can be hard to find unpaid in this neighborhood.

Best hot yoga in the neighborhood. Unlike I Love Hot Yoga on Green Lake, classes are scheduled with enough time in between so that you're not jostling for place at the lockers or changing rooms. The building is new and very clean. Classes themself are vinyasa or hatha style (not classic bikram) and, depending on the class size, instructors actually do form corrections. My main problem with Power to the People Yoga on Roosevelt was the complete lack of correction - if I could see the girl ahead of me was doing warrior 2 wrong, then who knows how I was screwing up?
