I’ve had a truly positive experience with SODO Fitness Mechanics—from the initial contact all the way through the workouts. The level of training and attention to detail is top-notch. Classes are fun, challenging, and thoughtfully structured.
What really stands out is the welcoming, inclusive community—it’s a space that’s approachable for all ages and fitness levels. As someone who’s not in peak shape, I’ve felt completely supported and met right where I’m at. The communication between coaches is outstanding. Even though I’m new and haven’t worked with everyone yet, it’s clear they collaborate closely; every time I walk in, they already know my limitations and are ready to adapt accordingly.
The other members are encouraging and down-to-earth, which makes the environment even better. It’s a well-rounded, motivating, and respectful place to get in a great workout.

I've been a member of this gym for about six months now and I can't recommend it enough! I never would have imagined myself getting into CrossFit but the coaches are amazing and make all of the workouts customizable for your skill level. The welcoming atmosphere of the gym is amazing and I definitely recommend trying it out!

The coaches are truly top-notch. They consistently go above and beyond, walking around during workouts to observe, provide instant feedback, and ensure everyone is performing safely and effectively. The coaches never do the bare minimum—they’re fully invested in helping every member improve, which truly stands out amount other gyms. The coaches and the members foster a very inclusive environment- making everyone feel welcomed.
The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, which adds to the positive experience. The programming is thoughtful and well-rounded, with workouts designed to challenge all fitness levels while focusing on technique, safety, and progress.
The gym is a convenient stop for me during my commute from downtown everyday. Chef’s Kiss!

I’ve been coming to Sodo for several years now and I can tell you that it’s the most welcoming, safest, and cleanest gym I’ve ever been to. The coaches are fantastic and will work successfully with anyone at any fitness level. The focus is always on performing movements safely and on building whole-body fitness. The owners, Angie and Greg, have created a friendly, welcoming community that actually makes it easy and fun to show up and work out on a regular basis. I give SFM my highest recommendation - if you’re on the fence, come try it out!

I visited as a guest from out of town and had a great experience! I am very new to CrossFit and appreciated how Greg, one of the owners, was so patient and really took the time to explain things carefully and correct my form. I plan to come again the next time I am back in town.

By far, the best gym I have been too! I even cancelled my other fitness memberships just to spend more time here. The coaches and members always inspire and motivate me to believe in myself to achieve much more in my fitness and it’s always a good feeling when I’m able to lift more weights than what my mind think. The coaches are fun, knowledgeable, and caring. This gym prides itself on making sure people are safe and enjoying a good-natured community to do fitness in. Workouts are scaled to your ability and you'll love the people you work out with. You won't find a better group of people, all working towards their goals right next to you and cheering you along the way!

I have been a member of this gym for about 3 years now. This is by far the best gym I have been a member at in Seattle. The coaches are top notch, care about your goals, engaged in you as a person, and help you perfect your crossfit ability in a non-judgmental way. Other members are also very fun to work out with - there is always laughter at the gym and many social opportunities to get to know one another. JOIN THIS GYM - you will not regret it!

I'll keep reviewing this amazing gym on every platform out there to get the word out -- SoDo Fitness Mechanics is the real thing! The amazing owners and staff are wholly dedicated to providing the best possible experience for members, even during quarantine.
During COVID, they've been innovating hard. They offer equipment rentals, coach-led Zoom calls, socially distanced outdoors workouts, group-led online classes, daily workout videos to complete on your own time, and a library of recordings to help you perfect your form at home. Plus they still offer one-person classes according to state guidelines. The whole gym is as squeaky clean as a gym in the SoDo District can possibly be. It's a COVID-safe, challenging, supportive, encouraging environment that makes me want to go back several times a week just to feel happy. I've gained a lot of muscle and lost a lot of inches! In short, I recommend this gym unreservedly.

This is one of the best gyms I have ever belonged to. The owners are awesome, knowledgeable and overall genuinely interested in helping you achieve your fitness goals. Even during this pandemic, they have done such a nice job keeping people interactive with things like Quarantine Bingo, Weekly Challenges, Zoom Classes and constant check ins if you want them. Cannot say enough good things about Sodo Fitness Mechanics! Highly recommend. The community is also amazing and keeps me coming back even if I’m not in the mood to workout :)

I've been a member here for about a year and a half. I'd had some intro sessions at other Crossfit gyms, but nothing "stuck" until I came here.
I wasn't new to lifting or fitness when I joined, and so have been surprised that I've gotten so much stronger and more athletic. It's completely changed my goals -- I eat healthier, sleep more, and overall just feel better. And I don't feel pressure to lift a certain amount or get a particular time...the community here all supports you 100% wherever you're at. It's also a place where I can show up as my goofy, nerdy self and feel accepted.
But my favorite part are the owners. Angie and Greg are very knowledgeable, encouraging, and just plain fun.I think that's what I look forward to most each day, knowing that if I just show up, I'm going to have fun with people I've grown to really care about.
And during this time where gyms are closed, most of the friends I've made at the gym have continued to stay in touch through Facebook, Instagram, and Zoom workouts/mobility sessions that are exactly what I need in order to have a bit of fun and normalcy in my life.
If you're looking for an incredibly supportive community where you will get stronger and healthier, and still can be you, this is your place.

I love this place! They are so thoughtful about their programming, and this gym is such a welcoming and friendly community. I have met the most amazing people here, and have done things I never thought I was capable of. Workouts can be scaled for anyone's fitness level and everyone is always cheering you on. All the coaches are friendly, knowledgeable, and always wanting to help you be your best! You can't go wrong here.

An amazing place to work out. Sodo fitness Mechanics has a great community, everyone from owners, coaches, and athletes are super nice and supportive. It does not matter if you are a couch potato or a tri-athlete, the coaches are able to help you through movements and to scale the workouts to your abilities. The owners Greg and Angie are amazing and always there to answer any questions you may have and are awesome people in general.
