Absolutely horrible. They allowed a student come to class that had hand foot and mouth, didn't notify any of the parents, only people that were there that night (even though HFM stays on surfaces for weeks) and then that same student attacked another student in a locked bathroom. They then tried to sweep the issue under the rug even though their code of conduct clearly states any physical bullying would result in IMEDIATE DISMISAL. My children should be protected by their teachers, not abusers.

This is our daughter 3rd year here - it was her first post-Covid activity as a twinkle tot! The staff is great and it feels like you are part of a community. I love seeing the older girls and how much fun they have - and hope our little one sticks with it! Thanks for all you do!

My 3.5yo daughter is absolutely in love with the twinkle toes program. The teachers have been kind, encouraging and flexible with the children and it has been a highlight of our week. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in encouraging music and movement for your little ones!

We are just finishing our first year at SMAC and cannot say enough great things about our experience there. Our 4 year old adores Miss Kelly and had a wonderful introduction to ballet.

Whoa! What a rude receptionist. I called and asked to speak to one of the dance instructors whose name is clearly written on the center's website. The obviously very clueless receptionist that answered the phone didn't even know who the individual was. Embarrassed that I'd to school her that the person I wanted to speak with actually worked there, she rudely proceeded to end the call. Who hired this person...?!

The best dance studio in town! From the variety of classes to the experienced teachers, we have had nothing but great experiences at SMAC. Our daughter decided to start dance at age 11 and even though she didn't have a dance background, she was welcomed with open arms and given a chance to succeed. SMAC offers classes for every age at every level which helped my daughter feel more comfortable.

Mi experiencia con mi hija en esta fabulosa Academia de Baile ha sido increíble. Mi hija lleva matriculada 1 año y 4 meses y ella está muy feliz. Participó por primera vez en el recital el sábado, 25 de junio y fue una experiencia MARAVILLOSA. Recomiendo a ojos cerrados esta Academia. Such an amazing dance studio. The staff and owner are always so welcoming and caring. This is both of my daughters second season here and not only have they shown growth in dance, but also with themselves. I was so scared they were going to back out of their first recital last year, but this dance studio helped my girls become so confident in themselves. I’ve never seen them have such a strong passion for anything. Thank you SMAC for not just being amazing dance teachers, but for also being amazing role models to all of your dancers.

Sound Movement Arts Center is great! It's our 8 year old daughter's second season taking classes and she has enjoyed it a lot. We love the owner, the teachers and the studio space and how they have been able to adapt and keep everyone dancing through the past couple years! The way they plan and prepare for recital helps make it such a well executed event too :-).

We love it here. My daughter has learned a lot and even enjoyed the zoom classes they immediately jumped into action on when the pandemic started. The staff is very nice and professional. The communication is fast and they answer everything. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making this the best it can be. This is my daughter’s second season at this wonderful studio. She’s 3.5 and is in the “Twinkle Tots” class. The staff are kind, organized, and always practice good communication. The year-end recital is top notch, and so fun to participate in (though not mandatory). I tell all of my friends about SMAC and I know we will dance here for years to come.

Sound Movement Arts Center has been a true blessing to my daughter Makenzie. We happened upon the studio by chance for cheerleading and Miss Giselle saw something in my daughter that I never even knew was there. She asked her to try out for team jazz and hip hop and was offered a spot on the team. Since then, Makenzie has elevated her dance through hard work and training with the amazing instructors at the studio and we couldnt imagine dancing for any other studio. The staff are so loving and inviting. It truly is a second family to Makenzie as well as to myself. The studio attracts amazing parents and students and the atmosphere is one I am proud to have my daughter be a part of. They have everything from beginning classes for your minis all the way to competitive team and company classes that compete and participate in conventions. They have found ways to incorporate so many different styles of dance as well. If you're only interested in hip hop, there are several classes to choose from. You can pick one, you can pick all. Cant decide because you like it all? Try out for team or company. Just want to dance and not compete, take as many or as little classes in any and all styles as you want. Its flexible and so much fun! I highly recommend stopping by the studio if you are on the fence and letting you child check this awesome studio out. You wont be disappointed!

My daughter is twelve years old and has been going to SMAC since 2015. She absolutely loves it and is even more excited to go even after four years. She loves her teachers and the other dancers. And I love how happy it makes her. Her experience at the dance studio and at dance competitions and performances has clearly had a positive influence on who she is. I'm amazed at how mature she has become over the past four years and I think a big part of that is SMAC.

My daughter (14 y/o) first came to SMAC for summer camp 2018, she enjoyed that week of dance very much. She came back the following fall and started in ballet. She likes the instructors because they are patient, kind and make learning fun. I appreciate that too and that they choose to share their passion and knowledge with kids. My youngest first joined SMAC back in 2015 when they first started and won a free Summer Camp. The following year, my older daughter joined and We’ve stayed with them ever since! My daughter recently turned 2 and I was unsure how much she could participate. Miss Giselle was amazing, welcoming, loving and super patient! My daughter had a blast. My son is 10 and participated in the Hip Hop class, the dance instructor was very professional. My son is not very coordinated and I was seriously amazed at how much he learned in a just a short amount of time. He had a blast!

My girl has been taking dance classes with S.M.A.C and loves it. She is almost 12 yrs old and has been dancing a few years. They teach at a higher level of instruction. Dancers should be prepared to work and have fun in this positive, upbeat dance studio. Taught with kindness and great skill. Easy access downtown Tacoma location too!
