South Seattle Women's fitness is exactly what I was looking for to restart a fitness regimen simply because they offer a variety of classes throughout the day, but there is so much more to this studio than just a great workout. I am so appreciative of the many ways they make this space feel safe, welcoming, and encouraging and it has allowed me to let go of a lot of the insecurities and discomfort that I have felt in gyms. The way they instruct creates a healthy balance of challenging ourselves while also honoring our bodies as they show up that day. While I don't have children myself, I love that they create child friendly options within their schedule. I haven't done their classes virtually but I'm glad I'll have the option to do them live or at a time that works for me. I know that I'd be much more likely to do them knowing I'd be following the instructors that I'm used to taking classes with in person. I haven't tried their add ons like personal training, their run clubs, or their 10 week strength courses, but its great that they exist and I plan to look into them in the future. I've never been in such a diverse fitness space or one that is specifically for women, and its amazing what a difference that makes. That, combined with other little touches like asking a "question of the day" as we warm up, outdoor meetups, and things like food drives and meal kit assembly parties, shows that SSWF is focused on building and uplifting the community within the space as well as outside of it.

Thank you to South Seattle Women's Fitness. This wonderful place truly is a treasure. I used to dread working out, but after going through breast cancer treatment, strength training is now a necessary part of my long-term recovery. The instructors are great and the students/members are chill and friendly. Classes are suited to all levels including beginners, folks with physical limitations, or people who want to go extra hard. I actually LIKE coming here to work out! I've never said that about any fitness center in my 43 years. A couple of unique features are that they have some classes where you can bring your child if you don't have childcare, and they don't have mirrors plastering the walls. This really makes a difference to me because I'm not distracted and self conscious about what I look like while getting ripped. The instructors are there to offer any corrections if needed. It's also small enough that instructors and members get to know each other and that helps build my sense of accountability. The owners are also very kind. Oh, and it feels safe and comfortable to be here because...you know, it's in the name. I'm so grateful to have found this place.

I did almost a year of Functional Strength classes with Khyolskoh and learned so much. I've continued for several months now and enjoyed my first summer of epic fun in many years, for which I am very grateful! I am now in decent enough shape that I can accept invitations to play beach volleyball and ride a horse on trail and even do the non-running portions of a sprint triathlon. (I retired from running a long time ago.) Many thanks to the Functional Strength team for giving me FUNctional strength =)

At South Seattle Women’s Fitness I found a routine that actually works for me and a community that motivates me—not just to show up to class, but to step outside my comfort zone… like writing a Google review for the sake of winning a raffle contest. Now that’s growth!

I am so grateful that I found this studio! As someone who has struggled with body image and felt out of place in fitness spaces, I never expected to find the support and community that I have here. Kholysoh and Shelly are absolutely amazing and thanks to their support I feel stronger than I ever have.

I’ve been coming here for the past 18 months and have found such a supportive fitness studio- body neutral, adaptive to my injuries, and many kid friendly classes. In a world full of high impact fitness choice, I especially appreciate the abundance of low- impact choices. First class is free and it’s relatively affordable per class too.

I started going to SSWF in 2020 and that year, went to classes several times a week - they kept me sane! These days, I just have a punch card and show up every once in a while. But I love that there are so many types classes to choose from. I always get a good workout and feel supported with modifications whether I'm showing up feeling "weak" or "strong" that day.

My recommendation is if you're even thinking about taking a class here, just book your first free class now. There are so many different classes to choose from (and many at Seward Park!), the instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly, and the community and spaces are really welcoming, clean and organized. I feel stronger and have more energy since I've been coming here, and always look forward to my classes.

Did the preganancy friendly yoga class weeks 20 till birth which was gentle and helped me with hip and lower back pain, and now I bring my baby to the low intensity interval training class and it's so amazing to be able to bring my 4 month baby and be in such a supportive space!

I've been coming here for drop in classes and the functional strength series and absolutely love it. They've built such an amazing supportive community of women. I was a little intimidated to go back to a gym after not having exercised consistently for several years but SSWF is the most welcoming place. You can feel comfortable here no matter where you are in your fitness journey. And they are affirming of all body shapes and sizes.

Amazing studio and community with a very low barrier to entry. I love that you can purchase a class pass that is affordable and does not expire. I am doing the functional strength course and run club now and both are terrific. Great variety of classes, I especially like the TRX ones.

I have been a member for almost two years now, and prior to that, I would purchase their 10 class passes to work out whenever I could with my busy mom/work life schedule. After I finished their 10 week Body Well program (which is no longer available), I felt better mentally and stronger physically. I love how all the instructors are personable and fun to exercise with. They modify their workouts for everyone with different strengths and physical limitations. I also like that they have live virtual classes to attend when I am unable to go in-person. I honestly don’t have an excuse to not workout 2-3x a week now. Thank you SSWF! 💪

Great community with a variety of classes - many of which you can bring your baby/child to! I enrolled in the 10 week functional strength session after my youngest was born and it’s the strongest I’ve felt in years. Instructors are kind and motivating and inclusive.

I LOVE this place. I hadn’t seriously worked out in years and I feel welcome, supported and motivated. What I love most is that they often explain the “why” behind what we are doing. For example, women as we get older are at a higher risk of falling. They are intentional about incorporating exercises to try to prevent that. It’s not just about burning calories here, (although we do lots of that!) it’s about become strong and healthy. I’m so grateful I found them!

When I first attended a class at SSWF, I was nervous because it had been years since I had a regular fitness routine. There is an amazing variety of classes that are so accessible thanks to the skilled instructors. This is not your average studio, it’s a community of supportive women across all stages of life. I’m so grateful for it!

We are so lucky to have this woman owned business in our neighborhood! SSWF has been a staple in my life over the past 4 years. They've been there through COVID - hosting outdoor, safely distanced classes to creating the new strength based programming that helped me remember just how much I love to lift weights! The instructors are local caregivers and parents who care about our S. Seattle community. They want to make SSWF not only a space to workout but a space to connect with each other.

South Seattle Women’s Fitness has been a beloved part of my strength and fitness journey the last 3 years. Through two postpartum phases, one pregnancy, and the time in-between, SSWF has been an incredibly supportive atmosphere for me to feel empowered and inspired to help my body be the best it can be. The instructors give flexible options during the workouts for every body, energy level, injury, or mood! I’ve felt accepted and celebrated no matter my body shape or level of participation — and that’s unique in a fitness studio! The community has become a delightful circle of friends that I look forward to seeing every week in my HIIT classes and the social events are fun too! I especially appreciate that I can bring my baby in her stroller to many of the workouts.

This review is for those many many women who have residual pain and discomfort with everyday life following pregnancy - this is the place for you! Despite "graduating" from physical therapy, I continued to experience post-partum back and pelvic pain that prevented me from playing with my kids the way I wanted, taking workout classes, or even trying to exercise at home. After a year of that nonsense, I finally reached out to South Seattle Women's Fitness for help and started personal training sessions that have completely transformed my body and my life. Their expertise, experience, and dedication to tailored training sessions are beyond what I could have anticipated or hoped for. I can sit on the floor with my kiddos without hip pain, change diapers without back pain, and now take exercise classes without pain! And this doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the many classes, informational sessions, and community events offered. I cannot encourage you enough to reach out to South Seattle Women's Fitness - it's not just a gym, it's a community of women for women. No judgement, just support.

There’s so much good to say about this space. I started working out here when my youngest was 10 weeks old and oh my gosh I’m so happy I did. I hadn’t worked out in really any capacity since pre-covid and pre-babies, so 4 years. I was so nervous and, again, 10 weeks postpartum, but I was more than welcomed with open arms by Kholysoh and Caitlin. I’m now two sessions in to the 10-week Functional Strength classes, back to work full time and managing life with a toddler and a baby and I continue to feel more than supported. It’s truly a place you can come as you are and as a very busy, very frazzled mom of littles, I’m forever grateful. Thank you, Caitlin and Kholysoh for creating such incredibly positive and supportive community for so many women. For anyone on the fence or feeling nervous to start, this is your sign and I can’t wait to meet you!

I am always so weary of fitness groups and always am weary of fitness classes as I so concerned they might have some toxic bs about health and weight in them. My friend peer pressured me to sign up with her and assured me this place was good. She was right and Seattle women’s fitness is the best. It’s such an encouraging environment that meets you where you are. They offer encouragement to those at all levels and everyone is such an encouraging community.
I have now been going to Kholysoh’s functional strength for a year and am looking forward to continuing next year. My kids are constantly asking if they can work out with her too.

South Seattle Women’s Fitness has been crucial for my motherhood journey. The community of moms in this group is supportive and generous, the trainers are knowledgeable and flexible, and the workouts are challenging yet foundational/practical. The thing I love the most about this studio is that you get to see the humanity of women (mostly moms) shine.

I've been attending workout classes with this awesome community since May 2019 and it's been a life changer! The instructors are so caring, thoughtful, and knowledgeable about almost any type of workout you could want from barre and yoga to HIIT and strength classes. During COVID, they added a virtual option so I could workout at home and thankfully they are still providing a virtual option. Their studio has all the workout supplies you could need including lots of free weight options, kettle bells, bands, etc. Many classes are child-optional, which is super convenient for families. I've even seen an instructor rock a baby in a stroller during class to calm them down while the mom gets a chance to exercise! They have many community events like clothing swaps, toy drives, day-long group hikes, and fun events at places like Agua Verde during the summer! I can't say enough positive things about South Seattle Women's Fitness!

South Seattle Women's Fitness is a gem in our neighborhood. Fantastic classes and community events make this fitness studio truly unique. I’ve been going to South Seattle Women Fitness (formerly Fit4Mom) for two years now, and I can’t recommend it enough. This gym offers a variety of classes, but my favorites are strength training and TRX. The instructors are phenomenal—knowledgeable, supportive, and always fostering a positive, non-judgmental environment.
Every time I walk in, it feels like a community that genuinely wants you to succeed, no matter your fitness level. The vibe is so uplifting that it’s the only gym I’ve ever happily gotten up early on a Saturday morning to attend!

Just before the COVID lockdown I joined a fitness class for women “of a certain age.” I’d never exercised with women my age before. Next was Zoom only and then “back to the park!” Exercising outside at Seward Park didn’t thrill me but I gave it a try. Yup, 100% converted! The park offers so much to your whole self—I love it—in all seasons!
The longtime instructor was then moving out of town, and everyone was sad. After outreach for a new instructor, Fit4Mom and Caitlin agreed to instruct our exercise group. It has now been a year with Fit4 Mom! I've enjoyed every minute.
This class, called “Active Aging,” is the best. Besides the original group, other women from Fit4Mom have joined and the whole group ranges from 30s-ish to 80s. It is fun and inclusive—with exercise plus visiting!
A business and name change are happening as I type, from Fit4Mom to South Seattle Women's Fitness! Same great locations, studio, and staff but even more class options. Good old "Active Aging" gets to be "Fitness in the Park." We, women of "a certain age," sure appreciate the new business name and class name; after all the more we work out, the younger we feel!!
Working out at Seward Park is the best exercise scenario. No matter how down you might be feeling, the outdoors, views, wildlife, fellow humans really elevate your attitude and mood--every time.
The workout is what you make it— super challenging or going easy on those achy body parts. It is all your call.
South Seattle Women's Fitness is a very woman, family, and community-oriented business. Caitlin and her team are incredibly organized and hire the best people. Great communications, emails and a very easy app make regular exercise happen.

I'm so excited for this launch of South Seattle Women's Fitness. I've been attending a variety of classes with this group over past 7 years (under former name) and have been recently loving the Functional Strength classes. I love the focus on pushing yourself but listening to your body, and setting ourselves up for mobility as we age. Caitlin, Kholysoh, and all the other coaches listen to the needs and wants of the community and I believe this rebrand gives them more flexibility to build the classes and schedules that work for us. It's a really sweet a beautiful collective of supportive women ❤️

I've been coming to South Seattle Women's Fitness for almost three years now, since my daughter was born and I brought her to kid-friendly classes. Since then, I've tried several classes - I love the variety of strength training, HIIT, TRX, barre, yoga, and more.
I've especially enjoyed the Functional Strength sessions. From May to November, I've gone from using <20 lb weights for squats and deadlifts to *50 lb* weights, from wall pushups to floor pushups, and more. This incredible studio was instrumental in keeping me healthy, happy and strong during and after my pregnancies. After three c sections, I struggled with both my personal body image and also my identity as ”strong”. Functional strength has been so vitally important to changing this mindset. I’m so strong and I’ve finally gotten to a place where I can do even more athletic activity as before my kids. I feel good about myself too! Special shout out to Kholysoh, she is so empowering and makes me want to work out!
