About the Club

All services are virtual. All people are respected, honored, and welcomed here. We advocate for Health At Every Size (HAES), and support all individuals to gain strength, agility, stability, flexibility, balance, power, and endurance. Your safety is of paramount importance and all movement is appropriately scaled, adapted, and progressed. This business was formerly known at "ModBody Fitness" when we had a brick and mortar gym in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of Seattle. All services are now virtual and accessible online to people all over the world.

I've been involved in a lot of different athletic programs and gyms over the years. I've had coaches who pushed me too hard and too fast and unfortunately, it led to injury and this feeling of getting 5 steps ahead just to fall 10 steps back. Many of these gyms and coaches made the movement about punishing my body for what I ate or how I looked and as I came to realize that I needed something different, an internet search brought me to Stacey. Stacey Sorgen is HAES aligned, weight neutral, and is just refreshing. There is no mention of intentional weight loss, no body shaming, and there's no space for a lot of what you'll hear in gyms - self deprecating humor, etc. I've enjoyed her 10 week Strength Camp program where we just focus on getting stronger, more balanced, more confident and comfortable in our skin. She's been coaching people for 15 years and it shows. She's down to earth and professional and personable - but a real person. I actually like the variety of people who join in - all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, backgrounds, ability levels - everyone is welcome and accepted for exactly who they are. It's a safe little container and corner of the internet where I can finally listen to my body, have a coach who really truly cares and adapts movement to best suit my needs (and everyone else's) and I can totally be myself. Now I just feel 10 steps ahead and stronger than I have in a long time.

OMG - I cannot say enough good things about Stacey and her commitment to community and support for her clients!

She's truly a breath of fresh air in a world where wellness is equated to your weight on a scale. I had done a fair amount of body positivity work before working with her but she has helped me to go even further in developing the ability to listen to my body and ignore those outside voices (on social media and even family members).

I feel amazing and am stronger physically (and mentally) after working with her over most of this past year. Enough that I have signed up to hike a somewhat strenuous trail for 10 days. Wish me luck 😆 Without this past work with Stacey, it wouldn’t have even been a consideration.

Plus the community in her Strength Camp has been such a delight to be a part of! I love that I can roll out of bed to join class and don’t have to get in a car. Just pop on Zoom and 50 mins later, I’ve completed my workout for the day. If you have issues with a certain exercise, she’s got another one to suggest that may work better.

One other thing that I want to mention is Stacey’s dedication to social justice and community care. She offers scholarships *and* sliding scale pricing, multiple ways to pay as well. She’ll work to help anyone interested to figure out what would work best for them. She is someone that I am proud to call a friend not just a trainer! 💕

This is the type of business that everyone needs!!! I took part in Stacey's 10 week strength training class and the care and commitment I received to make it through was amazing! She is all about "listening to your body" And protecting yourself. Stacey was committed to ensure we didn't hurt ourselves and gave wonderful instructions throughout! I've learned so much about my body and I feel the strongest I've ever felt in my life! This experience has and will be with me for a lifetime! Stacey's coaching is amazing! She does such a great job motivating us all to work hard and push ourselves.

One of the things I appreciate about Stacey is consistency. She’s always there with a body-positive outlook and non-judgmental vibe. I’ve taken her strength class in a time where I wasn’t so motivated on the fitness front and she took away the stress of it by focusing on how to best achieve personal growth and strength. I enrolled in strength camp to get back into working out and weight lifting after being gone from my regular gym during the pandemic. Stacey is a wonderful instructor and the atmosphere is so inclusive and supportive. The classes really feel like a community and are easily scalable to your fitness level and whatever weights or equipment you have. I can't recommend strength camp and Stacey enough!

After seeing my wife enjoy classes with Stacey for over a year, I finally tried out a class and loved it. Now I work out M-F with Stacey (from home!) and couldn't be happier with the training/coaching. She helps me with my form, keeps everyone safe and on-track and is so positive & fun. I found Stacey right before COVID-19 shut our world down. While I was initially disappointed not to do in-person training, virtual personal training SAVED my sanity and my health. I have a sedentary job, and being home trying to work with my child there all. the. time. meant sitting at my desk for *many* more hours than usual trying to get the same amount of work done. Stacey helped me address some shoulder mobility issues and other aches and pains brought on my sitting so much. I eventually switched from personal training to Strength Camps and I love those, too! I never envisioned myself as a person who would work out at home, and yet now I do, in large part due to Stacey's support. Stacey is kind, silly, knowledgeable, fun, compassionate, inclusive, and I am grateful to have found her!

If you are looking for a YOU centered approach to health, wellness and personal training/coaching, this is the place for you!! Stacey (the owner) will make you feel like you are heard and important and she uses her vast knowledge to create a plan just for you. I look forward to our 1 on 1 calls each week and she has created group workout sessions that feel like working out with my besties. No easy task considering we workout over Zoom and I live in New Jersey (she’s based in Seattle and that’s a 3 HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE FOLKS!!!)

My partner and I have been working with Stacey for several months. I specifically sought her out because I was looking for a personal trainer who was body positive and modified movement based on how I was feeling. I've had a trainer in the past who wanted me to push harder, drop weight, and perform at an energy/intensity level like other clients. Stacey sees me for who I am. She is warm, positive, and understanding. I am not someone who typically * wants * to work out, but I like seeing her and I often leave feeling more accomplished than I did when I arrived. When I'm stressed about life, she adjusts her plan so we can focus on breathing, balance, and feeling strong. When I'm feeling good and energetic, she encourages me to test my boundaries in gentle, safe ways. I cannot recommend Stacey or ModBody Fitness enough!
