I’ve personally done mostly Mat Pilates (Classes & Privates) over the years, since 2007(?) in OR. There I learned that taking the time to get personalized instruction can make a huge difference w/ what one can get from doing Mat Pilates &/or Reformer Pilates. Huge difference!
This year, I’d previously been doing Reformer Pilates in Seattle before Studio Evolve but felt uncomfortable w/ the classes since they were large & not personal therefore good Reformer instruction & assistance were missing.
Lucky for me, my daughter happened on Studio Evolve. It was a different experience. Definitely personalized & enjoyable. And what a bonus it is to get to work on the Reformer w/ someone who takes the time to understand my 76 yr old body’s issues. It was great to start w/ Kimmie in Privates & am now doing the Essentials Class w/ Marisha. I consider them both my “Pilates Peeps”.

I started with the accelerator program about a year ago and it was the one of the best investments for myself for both body and mind. All of the types of classes are amazing, especially the privates if that can fit within your budget. This is a place that will help you build strength, understand your body more, and feel cared for. I started at Studio Evolve this year with private lessons with Erin and Elli and I am now going into regular classes. I loved the private lessons as both of them met me where I was and helped me be more connected with my core and breath. Already, the work has helped me outside the studio in my running and strength training, with faster run times and ability to lift more with minimal soreness.
It was an easy transition to classes and all the instructors have been incredible in modifying workouts for your level. The small class sizes are a bonus too because you get so much personal attention that it feels like you’re in a private lesson anyway. You also feel very comfortable regardless of skill level because everyone, including fellow classmates, are so supportive and encouraging. Definitely recommend Studio Evolve to anyone who wants to add to their workout routines, recover after injury or just wants to be more connected with their body.

Words are simply not enough to express my appreciation and gratitude for Studio Evolve and the amazing results I have seen since joining as a member. But I'll give it a try for purposes of this review!
When I began my sessions with Marisha, I was in a lot of pain and had serious range of motion limitations to my left hip and glute area due to years of running and sitting at a desk for years. I was frustrated and hopeless about my prognosis. Marisha is so knowledgeable and encouraging and immediately assessed my issues and mapped out a plan. In less than two months, my left side has gained so much strength. My entire body has changed and I am getting stronger by the session. My corresponding nerve pain has disappeared. I can now focus on other neglected areas as well!
I am so grateful to Marisha. She is magic. She empowers me and I am more confident in my strength now. Sky is the limit!

I've been going to Reformer Pilates classes at Studio Evolve weekly since January 2024. My plantar fasciitis has gotten so much better since starting. I feel more toned, stronger, more flexible, and healthier.
One thing that made it easy for me to sustain my practice this long is that I always feel comfortable in the studio. The instructors are top notch but respectful to all levels.

For the past 4 months I have been doing private Pilates sessions with Kimmie at Studio Evolve. Initially, I was not sure what to expect since I had not been exercising at all for several years due to some health issues and I had never done Pilates. To my surprise, I enjoyed Pilates on the reformer right from the start and started feeling improvement in my alignment, balance and strength within the first few weeks. Kimmie is an outstanding instructor, knowledgeable, intuitive, and sensitive, and our sessions leave me feeling strong and energized. I highly recommend Studio Evolve!

At the beginning of the summer, my back, and especially my knees, were in bad shape, so much so that I looked into a knee replacement. I was able to find a good physical therapist which helped. But since my wife and I have been doing Pilates with Jill, I have been able to forgo some PT exercises. And at this point, my back and knees have improved to the point that I do not think about them anymore! No pain. My overall strength, flexibility and balance have also improved to an amazing degree. I initially came in to Studio Evolve to help with a low back injury that I suffered from weight lifting. I figured I'd go in for a few months, improve my back, and then get back to my standard strength training.
Instead, I fell in love with both pilates and gyrotonics, and can see them being fitness practices that I do for a very long time.
My pilates sessions with Erin are always a blast, super educational, and hit exactly what I need every week. They're a perfect blend of strength, mobility, and stability without being over-the-top in terms of intensity. As someone who also does strength training and Jiu-Jitsu, having an exercise practice that isn't super intense, but still feeds into everything else I do is wonderful. Erin is also a super fun person, knowledgable in terms of anatomy and nutrition, and always knows how to translate my requests into practical work we can do.
My gyrotonics sessions with Wade are also incredible. The amount of flexibility and mobility I've gained in the past year is notable, and Wade is always there to push me just enough to push the edge of my abilities. Not to mention that Wade himself is a treat to be around!
The environment at Studio Evolve is kind, welcoming, and peaceful, and I look forward to every single session I do there!

Absolutely the best fitness experience!. 18 months ago i thought I was disabled. After 9 months of paletes i was able to do 18,000 steps in the hills of Lisbon and a year and a half later I feel healthier, more mobil, more stable and stronger everywhere than i did 10 years ago. Studio Evolve’s focus on functional fitness is the only way to exercise as we age and Jill, our trainer,, is simply The Best. (Our palates GOAT)

I love my weekly Pilates session. I feel better after i go which isn’t always the way i have felt after working out. I have been doing weekly private sessions for nearly two years and am still getting stronger week to week.
They teach a lot of restorative Pilates which is super helpful when you have injuries or just a middle aged body. It’s also nice to not feel like you are the oldest person there but instead instructors and people that understand how to work with people's bodies and get them feeling better.

As a computer person for the past 30 years, I've sat at a desk a long, long time. I had been experiencing a lot of back pain and it was getting to the point where I couldn't enjoy the physical activities that I used to. That's when I started with Studio Evolve.
Over the past year of private lessons, 1h/week, I've regained a lot of my flexibility, identified how and what muscles that I'm over using in the place of other muscles, and strengthened them.
I purchased my own Pilates machine at home, in order to get more practice in, and continue to visit Evolve every week to help work on my form and learn new workouts. I find it very valuable and don't believe any of my progress could have been made on my own; and will continue to work with Evolve to further my goals!
Additionally, they are big into "restorative Pilates", so you're not going to find a room full of 20 y/o and thumping music. Instead, you will find instructors and people that understand how to work with people's bodies and get them moving again!

I started with the Accelerator Program at Studio Evolve in Fall 2022 and have been regularly attending group Pilates classes, and private Pilates and SPRE body work sessions ever since. I had ignored my body for a long time when I first came to the studio. Kimmie (private Pilates and SPRE) met me where my body was, and each session adapts our program to what I need. Group classes are small enough so that instructors can tailor exercises to make them work for you. The approach is “how can we make this work for you?”.
The studio is a welcoming place with a real community feel to it. The instructors are extremely supportive of clients, and of each other. I’m glad that after a number of years of thinking about signing up with the studio, I finally did.

Studio Evolve is great. The classes are really small so the instructors are able to adjust the workouts for each participant. Everyone is motivating and super supportive - I’ve never felt judged or intimidated here. I loved the intro series and it really set me up to enjoy and follow through with Pilates.

I had an amazing experience at this studio in Wallingford! As someone new to pilates on the reformer, I was a bit nervous stepping in. However, Jill, the instructor, was an absolute gem. She not only made me feel at ease with the equipment but also tailored the session to ensure I felt comfortable.
One of the things that really stood out to me was how supported I felt throughout the entire class. Jill's guidance and expertise really made a difference. It's rare to find a workout that not only strengthens but also nurtures your body, and pilates here definitely achieved that. Moreover, I found free parking right outside the studio, so that was a big plus.
Overall, I can't recommend this studio enough, especially for beginners like me. Huge thanks to Jill and the team for such a wonderful experience!

I had my first class here last May, and I can honestly say that it's changed my life. After a sedentary pandemic, I needed to move my body in a safe and encouraging environment. I found everything I needed and more at Studio Evolve. Everyone I've worked with here is warm and helpful, and they clearly have expertise in meeting you where you are. I started with a 4-week beginner Pilates special with Jill in April 2023 and have gone once a week ever since. I’ve tried gyms, different classes, and videos, but I never found something that I loved and stayed with consistently. I enjoy the small group sessions especially because Jill and the other instructors are supportive and help tailor the movements to my lower back or neck pain. My core is definitely stronger and I no longer wake up with lower back pain. It’s an investment but it’s definitely better than surgery. Thank you, Studio Evolve!

When Wade was retiring from teaching dance at Cornish and mentioned he was going to be teaching Gyrotonic at Studio Evolve, I could not pass up the chance at taking gyro with this amazing teacher. I have been practicing with him weekly for the last two years, and it's almost hard to write this review because his schedule fills up so quickly. He is a very popular teacher. Whether you are a dancer or non-dancer, Wade is great at attuning to what your body needs and can work towards. Every week is different. I have been practicing gyro on and off for more than 10 years, and with Wade we never get into a staid routine. It feels like we are always working on something new or approaching the practice with a different focus each week. Everyone working at Studio Evolve is friendly and welcoming, and it has a clean and peaceful vibe. I enjoy going there every week!

I had a wonderful session with Jill at Studio Evolve. The studio is beautiful and I adore the owner. Jill had a plan for our session and immediately pivoted when I shared a couple things going on with my body. I did exercises on the floor and on the reformer that I’ve never done before and they have really shifted some long-standing patterns in my body. I am continually so happy with my experience with Studio Evolve! My mom referred me because I was diagnosed with hyper-mobility, it was close to me in Wallingford (Seattle), and I had some pain throughout my joints, and wanted to find strength and alignment. My doc recommended pilates, and I purchased a membership and began feeling better after just a week. I not only had great sessions, but I learned better how to carry myself outside of lessons as well (poster, pelvic alignment). I love trying new and unique movements, and would definitely be interested in trying gyrotonics. All of the teachers are so wonderul, are constant learners, and are very knowledgable about our aging joints and how best and safely to strengthen them. It keeps me more active and I find ease moving throughout my life. In full disclosure, I loved the studio so much, I became one of the in-house managers. So lucky to be apart of this team!

It is no exaggeration to say that Studio Evolve in Wallingford, Seattle, changed my life. I first came here as a SPRE (somatic bodywork therapy) client about 3 years ago, looking for help with my chronic back pain. Not only has my experience of SPRE been revolutionary - helping me heal in ways no other therapeutic modality has managed - I also have found new strength and joy from taking Pilates and Gyrotonics classes at Studio Evolve. I really appreciate the personalized services that the 1:1 classes provide. Kimmie is a great instructor and I've really enjoyed working with her. She gives really great instructions that are clear and easy to follow, which is very helpful for me as I'm taking on movements I've never done before. I would like to highly recommend Studio Evolve, a local Pilates studio in my neighborhood in Wallingford.
I began doing Pilates in 2008 in Bend, Oregon. We also have a condo in Seattle, here in Wallingford. When we were here half the year, I began going to Studio Evolve. We are now here in Seattle full time.
I used to also go to a local gym, but when Covid occurred, I cancelled my gym membership.
However Studio Evolve quickly began doing Pilates on Zoom. I did it twice a week and it was fantastic during that time. The classes are once again in the studio using the reformers. I am on their twice a week schedule. Since I no longer have a gym membership, it is doable and definitely worth it to me.
The studio is spotless, with air purifiers and has taken all Covid precautions very seriously and followed all necessary recommendations. The staff at the studio are very personable and skilled. They have accommodated me several times when I had medical issues that required putting my membership on hold.
Pilates has changed the way I feel. I feel stronger, my balance has improved and I just feel more confident about my physical condition. I feel I can do any physical activities I wish.

I recently started Pilates at Studio Evolve. The studio is beautiful, the teachers are knowledgeable and the class sizes small. Although prices here are higher than Club Pilates and Vitality, the smaller class size and personal attention at Studio Evolve makes it worth the extra cost. The location for me is perfect and street parking is always available.

Cristin has a delightful personality. My husband and I see her weekly. We enjoy the variety of movement and equipment or "toys" as we like to call them. Cristin gives great cues, and little Pilates history nuggets along the way. She is attentive and observant.
