I have the most grounding experience here with my practice. I can't thank Christiane and Brendan enough for opening the space and giving such a welcoming and compassionate practice. The Yoga Shala feels almost a temple where I can focus, reconnect with myself and practice my beliefs.

The best place to practice yoga in Seattle. A wonderful space to start or grow your Ashtanga practice. I love the traditional offerings like Mysore and Led Primary as well as the additional workshops for deeper development. Brenden and Christiane are amazing teachers and I am grateful to learn from them as well as their broader network of visiting teachers.

Saying this place is amazing is merely an understatement!! From the practice, to the space, to the community, The Yoga Shala has provided me with so much. It’s so genuine and stays true to Yogas roots.

Over the summer, I regularly go to Rocket classes in the evenings as it works with my schedule better. Brendan and Christiane are such wonderful teachers who are so understanding and supportive for anyone at truly any level. I’ve brought my mom and sister, and I do believe that anyone, no matter their ability, will thrive here. The space is beautiful, calming, and very well kept. If you’re looking for a studio, you have to check this place out! They have so many new offerings and guest teachers too.

This Yoga Shala Seatle has a serious respect for the ashtanga lineage (a Mysore program and Sunday led primary) while also offering a down-to-earth space that centers community-building. It is a breath of fresh air with its queer and immigrant leadership. The Yoga Shala Seattle also hosts incredible guest teachers from Latin America and other parts of the US!

I started here as a beginner 1 year ago. The teachers teach ashtanga (and Rocket Yoga) around the US and the world and many of the practitioners have been practicing for many years. It's an amazing opportunity to be able to practice in space side by side with such advanced practitioners, but also where all levels truly feel welcomed!

This is a truly special community of talented teachers, dedicated students, and a deeply supportive and welcoming community of practitioners. If you are looking for a traditionally based yoga practice rooted in Ashtanga, you have found an exceptional place of learning. I cannot emphasize enough the Quality of instruction, care, and knowledge available within this program. The owners have cultivated a rare and unique experience difficult to find in Seattle, or anywhere for that matter, a testament to their intention and philosophy. Much gratitude, Thank You. πŸ™

Best teachers you can find, and an amazing, welcoming community of very cool people. People here have all kinds of backgrounds, different levels, body type, age, etc., and everyone who comes to practice is seen and valued. The benefits I have gained from this studio are immeasurable, and I never imagined I could commit to a studio and practice long-term. Definitely the best Ashtanga yoga studio in town. I am immensely grateful to have found this special place and to be a part of an inclusive community!

This studio is incredibly welcoming, even for beginners. I was brand new to Ashtanga and I have felt supported in my practice. The teachers are all fantastic and will meet you where you are. The community is also very friendly. If you are thinking about trying Ashtanga, this is a great place.

Perfect spot for ashtanga. In addition to several led classes, they offer Mysore-style class (self-led, teacher-supported) 5 days a week. I haven't been able to find anything like this in years. Since I started coming to the morning classes, I feel calmer, more coordinated, sharper, and just all around happier. My jiu jitsu practice is noticeably better too (and less injuries).

The best part about the studio is the quality of the instruction. There's three teachers that lead the Mysore classes, and every one of them is good enough they could own their own studio. They're amazing people with great energy. Come check this place out if you're looking for a yoga studio to call home!

It's a really cozy place for your yoga practice.
And they have really nice programs scheduled.
Christiane and Brendan are great teachers, they always give clear instructions, demo clearly and give very nice adjustments.
BTW, easy parking, no stress or rush before your practice...

If you are looking for Ashtanga in Seattle, well this is it!!! It's a great place to establish your practice and keep it going. Experienced teachers, welcoming community of practitioners, and an intimate space where you definitely won't go home feeling like you're invisible. I started with minimum yoga experience at another studio and moved over. So worth it!
