My daughter and I both take karate lessons at USSD Sammamish. Sensei Rob is very supportive and is a great instructor. He focuses on practicality of the Kempo karate and Shaolin Kung Fu techniques as well as useful and real life sparring techniques. I transferred to this dojo from another USSD studio in California, and I feel like I’ve evolved and grown a lot through Sensei Rob’s teaching. I highly recommend Sensei Rob!

Our two sons (11 and 14) have been students of Sensei Rob for over a year now, we have seen how their confidence has boosted and how much they love going to class. As far as Sensei Rob is concerned, I cannot express how happy we are with the way he gets his students engaged, he pushes them to work hard and with very strict discipline. One of the things I can call as a differentiator and a highlight is the private lesson, they have learned so much and they are proud about it. I would definitely recommend his studio eyes closed

Our two boys (ages 6 and 8) love learning self defense with Sensei Rob. He is a fantastic instructor who is great with kids. He is very patient and kind, and even our 3 year old daughter wants to take Karate now too. Sensei Rob is very accommodating, the kids enjoy the classes and private lessons, and I enjoy the confidence and drive they both have to study self defense. I highly recommend this studio!

It’s been more than an year since my daughter started Karate classes with USSD. Sensei Rob is a very good teacher. He is a bit tough but very supportive. Encourages kids to test their limits. My daughter has become very disciplined, strong mentally and physically and more over has developed never give up attitude because of all the tough tests. I am glad and very happy that we found USSD. We have been extremely happy about our experience with USSD and Sensei Rob (Sammamish) & Sensei Chris (Redmond). My son came from a Villari's program in the northeast, and when we moved we were not sure we would find a program that would be compatible. Sensei Rob explained they are very similar systems and my son could keep his belt level! He has continued to learn and expand his skills in this program, and it's satisfying to see him advance and gain confidence with great teachers. We think the fact that regular private/semi private lessons are part of the package is a huge factor in what makes this an excellent program. Other programs we've looked at do not have that level of individual attention from the instructors, and it really makes a difference.

Great location, clean dojo, great with Kids, and very flexible. The weekly private lessons really make it a value. For my daughter and I we can't wait to come back each time we leave. Sensei Rob is eager to teach the discipline of Kempo to everyone eager to learn. A great thing for my daughter, and me as well, but whew it's a great workout too!

Sensei Rob started USSD Sammamish last year. He is very professional and dedication that made it grown very fast in the community. I went couple of Self Defense institutions but not impressed of their attitude and professionalism. My Daughters did not like it though. I enrolled my two daughters without hesitation by talking to Sensei Rob just few minutes. I am very impressed with his professionalism and commitment. This place is the best for learning self defense. Sensei Rob know exactly how to work with kids. In teaching he's very serious but at the same, he is very kind with kids. He teaches kids how to become a good fighter but also not to become aggressive with their friends. Well done sensei Rob!

I am really glad that I have moved my son to United Studios of Self defence from the previous classes. The coach works very hard for the students to learn and practice the techniques. Students can attend several classes a week, this gives them al lot of time sparring and exercising.
The most amazing part of this center is the dedication of the coach. Other than self defence I see that he is teaching like skills - Discipline and reapect.

Sensei Robert offers a great program for kids and adults at a great value. Enrolled students get weekly semi-private classes and unlimited group classes available five days a week. He is excellent with his students and adjusts his teaching style effortlessly to the ages of the class. The program is a great value.

My son is a student and has built strength, focus, and confidence while growing from white belt to orange belt in a few short months. Unlike many other activities that he has tired of, Karate at USSD keeps his interest.

Rob has been extremely flexible in accommodating our changing family schedule allowing us to change our class participation on short notice and making it really easy to attend make-up private sessions. Sensei Rob always puts the customer first.
