I have a background in dance and yoga so I am very discerning about choosing a yoga studio. I am so grateful and blessed to be studying at Wallingford Yoga. Their teachers teach safely and thoughtfully so they can cater to people of different levels. From their highly credentialed and knowledgeable teachers, I have had the opportunity to learn asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work), mindfulness, meditation practices and more. Wallingford Yoga is a warm welcoming environment and has played an important role in my wellbeing.

Great person and nurturing space.
I wanted to start yoga classes but needed an impetus. One of our daughters found Christy’s studio, started with her, and then told me, “I think you’ll like her, Dad.” It turned out to be an understatement. I have now begun my 16th year taking Chisty’s weekly classes. She’s thoughtful, attentive and has a deep understanding of yoga and meditation. Each class begins with her asking, “What do you need?” She then tailors the stretching movements to address the issues we identified. Her Website is robust, scheduling is easy, and her new studio is an airy space with lots of natural light for both in-person and online yogis. Book a class and see what you think. Dick Callahan

Christy Fisher has graced my life for about 7 years now. Her gentle heart, clear teaching and wealth of knowledge of movement, not only of yoga but also somatics, adds an important dimension to her offerings, especially for me as a somatic movement teacher. I can rest into her classes, her know how and drink deeply. Thank you Christy!

Every class at Wallingford Yoga is a jewel and the variety and depth of teaching is impressive.
Christy Fisher's focus on the importance of sequencing asanas and her knowledge of the human body and its limitations have improved my daily movement. Her humor, poetic guidance, and adaptive choreography makes each class unique and fun.
I appreciate all the teachers at WFY, including Julie Hsu's meditative, spiritual approach to yoga. Her well designed yoga classes, including special sessions on meditative breathing and kriyas, have uplifted me during challenging times.

As a novice 10 years ago, I was apprehensive about going to my first yoga class. But that feeling quickly melted away when Christy started the class. Her soothing voice and informal, unhurried manner combined with very clear instructions made it super easy for me to get started. After a year of classes, I unfortunately had to stop doing yoga, but 10 years later, upon a cancer diagnosis, I discovered that Christy taught a yoga class for cancer patients. Remembering my previous experience with Christy, I jumped at the opportunity to take her classes again. When I stepped back in after such a long absence, it felt like I had come home. Christy’s gentle manner and excellent guidance has been invaluable to me as I deal with cancer treatment and its aftermath. Thank you, Christy, for being part of my care team! --Diane

I have been taking classes at Phinney Ridge Yoga for ten years. The teachers are compassionate and knowledgeable in offering many options for all bodies and abilities. Their gentle therapeutic approach is well received and welcoming. In the classes they coach the positive effects of the poses, while also building strength. I started out with a constant sore back and they taught me how to help eliminate the pain. The studio offers ongoing teacher training and specializes in yoga for Osteoporosis, Cancer Lifeline, Trauma Recovery, and Arthritis. It is truly a place to grow and learn.

I have been taking yoga with Christy Fisher at Phinney Ridge Yoga for many years. Christy, and all the teachers there are fantastic and knowledgeable. I really like Christy’s gradient approach to teaching, where postures often start gentle, and folks are invited to make them stronger if it feels right for their bodies. This makes every class feel safe and accessible for a broad range of abilities and experience. The fact that almost every class has people from their 20’s to their 80’s in it is a strong testament to this. The community of folks who come to classes is also really warm and welcoming.

Phinney Ridge Yoga is a lovely, peaceful, and safe environment. Christy, the owner, has a gentle, strength-based approach to teaching and by the time class is over, you have left all the tensions and worries of the day behind. I highly recommend this studio.

I have studied at Phinney Ridge Yoga for the past 10 years and dearly love this studio and the teachers. The supportive environment, loving instruction, creative approach to what yoga is, and the adaptations the studio offers for people who live with injury or disability have changed my idea of what excellent yoga is. The teachers have different styles and different gifts that complement each other and I have benefited from studying with all of them. They have each walked beside me as I have recovered from a couple of serious injuries. I especially want to acknowledge the studio's owner, Christy Fisher, as an important teacher and loving guide. Their yoga is excellent and accessible to everyone and the culture warm and inviting. Try them out -- I recommend them highly!

I loved taking yoga classes at Phinney Ridge Yoga! But the owner of the studio, CHRISTY FISHER, kicked me out and told me not to come to the studio anymore just because I said my opinion "I don't like jokes during yoga classes." Jokes and chatter deconcentrate and it takes time to return the concentration on the inner, body and breath.
Yoga is a combination of various spiritual, mental and physical practices, and asana is the union of mind and body through physical activity. Apparently Christy doesn’t know this well, although she has been practicing yoga for over 25 years.

Truly an oasis. The smooth Kripalu style yoga practiced here has Qi Gong elements, hatha elements and a bit of Kundalini too. Highly recommended for meditative, restorative and mindful yoga practices. If you’re looking for a mindful, meditative supplement to your vinyasa / ashtanga / hot yoga practice, this is it. If you want to practice smooth meditative yoga on its own this is it.
