West Side Fitness was founded by personal trainers who grew frustrated with the generic, one-size-fits-all approach of big box gyms. The goal was simple: to build a results driven environment where all fitness levels feel comfortable, supported and empowered to train with purpose. Westside Fitness focuses on personalized attention, expert coaching, and strong community to help every member reach their highest potential

Westside Fitness is a unique find in a world of globo-gym mediocrity.

Javi has created a great sense of community and equality - whether you're an athlete, a pro-bodybuilder, new to fitness or have decades of experience, everyone is welcome and feels at home. Members and staff are friendly and knowledgeable, with just the right balance of playful banter and letting you get on with your lift.

I love that Westside is close and easy to park, sure - but it's also really thoughtfully equipped, well priced, clean, and never overly crowded.

Training here is the best part of my day!

Westside Fitness is community as much as it is a gym. You’ll have all the equipment you could possibly need as well as knowledgeable, helpful, friendly coaches happy to answer questions about challenges, goals, or why we kept THE BODY SHOP banner (obvs). Not a bro gym — you’ll find folks in their 20s all the way to their 80s. Make gains. Make friends.

I've been working out at Westside Fitness since 2023 and it is one of the best gyms in Seattle. I relocated to Seattle during covid and it took a long time to find the right gym but I'm happy to say this is it. The environment is welcoming and supportive. You can find just about about any piece of equipment in this gym to target what you are working on. The trainers are super knowledgeable and will make you feel right at home. I can't say enough good things about it. Plenty of parking nearby and easy access to the West Seattle bridge/99/5. This is a space for everyone.

I’ve been working out here for more than a year. The people here are so friendly. It feels like a tight knit community but also very approachable. When I began, I had never worked out with a trainer before but now I’ll never go back. My trainer Ben has been so supportive and great at creating an entirely personalized program including my own workout routine, a nutrition plan, and an approach to coaching that is focused on positive reinforcement and encouragement.

This is probably the best gym and gym community I have ever been a part of. They have a good all the equipment you could ever want, an amazing set of trainers, and the owner works so hard for the community. When you’re here, it truly feels like you’re with an extended family that is so supportive. I’ve lost over 60 lbs since I started working with Ben and Javi, and at every step of the way the other trainers and gym goers cheered me on. Whether you like to be social or locked in, you’ll find good friends and the best athletic experience in Seattle at Westside!!!

This new gym may be in a different location, but the heart of it is exactly the same — and that’s why it works.
Same owner, same trainer, same culture of people who actually care if you show up and get results.

The equipment is old-school in the best way. Nothing flashy. Everything functional. It’s the kind of setup that forces you to work and rewards you with real progress.

But the real difference here is the people.
Everyone is supportive. Everyone cheers for you. The trainers are invested, encouraging, and they push you past what you think you can do — especially on the days you’re tired or dragging. They check in, they hold you accountable, and they remind you to show up for yourself.

Westside Fitness is hands down one of the best gyms in Seattle! The space is spotless, the equipment is state-of-the-art, and the overall vibe is welcoming and motivating. The staff and members genuinely care about the community, creating an environment that inspires consistency and progress. Westside Fitness is an absolute gem! Javier, the owner, is truly amazing — he’s friendly, welcoming, and treats everyone like family. He’s also an incredible personal trainer who really knows how to motivate and guide you, no matter your fitness level. The other trainers are just as supportive and kind, and it’s clear they all care about helping people succeed.

The atmosphere here is one of the best parts — everyone who works out at Westside Fitness is super chill, cool, and respectful. No judgment, no ego, just good people and good energy.

Love the new location of Westside Fitness - near the Alaska Junction. Javier has put together a unique array of weight training equipment and excellent trainers to challenge both beginners and advanced members. Javi and crew are some of the best trainers in the city. This location has everything you could ask for from tons of squat racks to machines that can hyper-target any muscle group. The vibe is beyond reproach, walking in and instantly feeling welcomed is not something you often see in a gym. I can't recommend this place enough! Oh, and you get the occasional gym pup which is always a bonus.

Westside FITNESS is hands down one of the best training facilities in West Seattle. The gym is clean, well-equipped, and has everything you need for strength and conditioning. One of the things I appreciate most is the easy parking—no stress about finding a spot before a workout.

The outdoor gym setup is also a huge bonus. Having the option to train outside with high-quality equipment makes this place stand out from other gyms in the area. The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, and it really feels like a place built for results.

Westside is unlike any other gym I’ve worked out in and that’s saying something, given the long list across two countries. Not only are the coaches incredibly talented, but I’ve always felt genuinely welcomed and part of a supportive community. You won’t feel intimidated here (and if you do on your first day, I’d bet you won’t by the time you leave). I’ve seen the most progress here in my 25+ years of hopping in and out of gyms. Huge thanks to Coach Marshall for helping me hit goals I didn’t think I could, pushing me when I wanted to quit, and most importantly - getting me out of a pretty rough place with back pain three years ago.

I’ve also seen firsthand how much heart Javier and Emma pour into making this place special. Thank you for creating such an awesome space—low on ego, high on fun. ❤️
