Nice gym. Watch out for the recurring yearly fee of $52.43. I have a payment coming out for my motorcycle on Monday. PF pulled the fee with no text to me on Saturday. Other places send a text. Not PF. Just yank those dollars right out of there.

Exactly what I can expect of Planet Fitness. Easily accessible. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Facility is clean. Equipment is maintained. Locker room for men is clean, though I have used it minimally. Never have had to wait for equipment to be available. Different fitness levels appear welcome as always.

I’m beyond disappointed with this Planet Fitness location. They consistently fail to open on time, making it impossible to plan my workouts around their unreliable hours. Speaking of hours, I’m frustrated that they changed from 24-hour access, which was a big reason I joined in the first place in 2019, to their current limited schedule. There was always hope to have 24H access again but it’s fading quickly.

To make matters worse, the men’s locker room is an absolute disaster lately. The showers are covered in scum, and I wouldn’t even walk in there with tennis shoes on, much less actually use the showers. It’s disgusting and shows a total lack of care for cleanliness. This location is failing on multiple levels, and management needs to step up before they lose more members.

This gym is notorious for not opening on time. Had same issue two years ago on the day after Christmas. No reason for this gym not being a 24 hr gym. After all that’s what the majority of people who go there signed up for. General manager never opens leaves it to the lowest on the pole. Corporate truly needs to step in before this gym sinks. I know at least 8-10 people who have traveled to farther PF gyms because of this or found other gyms. As a business owner myself my time is valuable and I shouldn’t have to wait in parking lot for over an hour for someone to show up to open doors. Sign has been up for over a week saying 5:00 am and when manger was contacted was told corporate hours are always one hour later after holidays.

I see the lack of toilet paper was a problem about a week ago and this past weekend it remains a problem. I have been going there for years and have on more than one occasion reported this to staff. No toilet paper in men’s room on 12-21-24 AM. I just don’t get it. When u open the place simply go in and look. Apparently the process is not working Manager.

The facility is one of the best PF’s you will come across. However, the staff is typically too busy just hanging out behind the desk to do anything like cleaning or restocking paper towels and toilet paper. No gym should be out of toilet paper within 2 hours of being open for the day. Which is a common occurrence here.

I travel all over the country and this is by far one of the top 5 nicest Planet Fitnesses I've been to. The reason I'm giving it 1 star is because out of 100s that I've been to, this one has the most limited hours of them all. Closing at 7 on weekends and 10 on weekdays? I've been to backwoods nothing towns that had PFs that had a larger range of open hours. For such a nice facility it's insane they aren't open later.

I've been to countless planet fitnesses in probably 30 states, and this is easily, by far the nicest one I've Ever been to, no kidding. Showers are super nice, the floorplan is great, brand new equipment, not crowded, to me everything seemed brand new there as if they just opened yesterday.

How can we contact the owners and tell them we are all sick of the limited hours at this gym? It's really ridiculous when it used to be 24hrs. At least stay open till midnight. The gym is always way over crowded to workout and the hours need to be fixed!!

This was a great clean gym, however for the last 2 weeks the locker room has been gross. I have talked to the front staff several times and am told that they are short on supplies. Sweeping and cleaning is not a supply. I miss the female manager every time she was here things were clean. I really hope this will be taken seriously, because im tired of the mess and seeing the staff leaning on the counter on their phones and talking up front.

Update: talked to a person claiming to be the new manager. He said that they don't have any female workers there more than 4hrs a week. So they can't clean the woman's locker room.

Best Planet Fitness in the Ashland/Bville/Hton/SP area. The staff here are the friendliest. They're remembering regulars by name and making everyone feel welcome. The place is always clean clean, with numerous cleaning stations throughout. They just had a renovation with all new shiney equipment, most of the machines now count your reps and time for you. This PF is also two stories with cardio equipment upstairs so you can avoid awkward encounters like your coworkers. Theres a freeweights area, and an area for beginners thats very yellow towards the back and quite secluded. There is two massage chairs, two water massage bed things, and I think eleven tanning beds. If you need any help with anything fitness all of them will gladly help but they do have a personal trainer Tyler thats well knowledgebale and always glad to help. I highly recommend this PF over others and it is my personal favorite. My @ is in the bio for any Qs or comments.

update:The billing system is misleading. Despite the billing date being on a certain date you actually have to cancel a week in advance. This is a manipulative business practice. Literally the worst ran planet fitness. I’ve been a member for over 6 years and this location has went drastically downhill. Was just greeted by a worker shoving her face with food in front of the manager. It’s always a mess in there now, weights everywhere, machines dusty and dirty. They used to care but you can tell that’s changed big time! Definitely plan on getting a membership somewhere else!! If I could give less than 1 star I would!

I absolutely love the Barboursville gym. The facility is super clean and up to date from equipment to the locker room. I have been to other gyms nearby, including the cross lanes location, and this facility is just SO much nicer. The faculty team is so much fun and friendly, eager to greet you and tell you bye which makes you feel welcomed and wanting to come back. The faculty being great really makes a HUGE difference to me, its almost like they are excited to have you there, which personally gives me even more of a reason to make sure I go consistently. I LOVE how the gym is set up. I’m a beginner and have been going 3-5 times a week, the way its set up just makes sense and makes it super easy for a beginner like me to maneuver around and find the machines that I’m specifically looking for. Each machine shows what part of the body it works out and has a little QR code to scan so that you don’t look silly if you’re new, like me! Showers are top notch, lockerroom is huge and clean with plenty of lockers, drink stations in convenient locations, great range of machines, equipment, and free weights, everything just far outweighed my expectations. I have felt welcome and “at home” from the barboursville location since my first day and it has truly changed my all over health and bettered my mindset. Thank you Bville Gym 💗 you guys are rockstars
